Here's another piece of music history. The Temptations, one of the greatest and influential vocal groups in the history of "Soul" are well represented here through a selection of their early singles. The group's immaculate vocal harmonies stand as a unique sound monument in American music culture and this disc shows us the origins of such a myth.

Transversales Disques presents for the first time on LP, François de Roubaix’s full score for the French TV series Les Secrets de la Mer Rouge, an adaptation of the epic travel, through the Middle East, of the famous writer and explorer Henri de Monfreid. This album is a collection of the original (1967) themes and those recorded later in 1975 when the TV series was continued.
In the 1967 soundtrack, de Roubaix uses various flutes, marine conches, and for underwater views, unexpected instruments such as a celesta or a crystal xylophone. By 1975, electronic technology had dramatically developed and this evolution is clearly apparent when one listens to the recordings of the two seasons. For the later 1975 series, de Roubaix composed a new music score, mixing old and new sounds, a great combination of EMS VCS3 synthesizer subtly mixed with acoustic instruments.
For François de Roubaix, there was never a border between fiction, life and music, and writing music for Les secrets de la Mer Rouge was an extension of his love of the open sea.

The record is completed by a newly recorded orchestral version of ‘Valley of One Thousand Perfumes’ produced by composer Joe Wong (Russian Doll, Midnight Gospel) and mixed by Dave Fridmann.
At the turn of the Century, Timony (Ex Hex, Wild Flag, Hammered Hulls) was already a celebrated presence in American underground music - a fixture of D.C. and Boston rock ’n’ roll via her work in Autoclave and Helium respectively. By 1998, though, Helium was drawing to a close and Timony was feeling uncertain about the future. “I had never been good at the rock ‘n’ roll business, and making a living from being in a band just didn't seem like it was in the realm of possibility for me,” she writes. “I just knew I wanted to make another record because that was the part of being in a band that I liked the most.”

'learning To Cope With Cowardice', The Groundbreaking Debut
Solo Album By Visionary Post Punk Iconoclast Mark Stewart, Is To Be Given A Definitive Reissue Alongside 'the Lost Tapes', A Newly Discovered Cache Of Unreleased Material.
'learning To Cope With Cowardice' Is Released On Double Cd,
Double Vinyl With Digital Download Code And Separately As
Digital Download Albums. 'learning To Cope With Cowardice' Is A Vital Chapter In The Legacy Of Mark Stewart & The Maffia, A Project That Would Prove To Be A Revolutionary Benchmark For Many, From The Innovators Of The 'bristol Sound' (the Wild Bunch, Smith & Mighty, Tricky, Massive Attack) Through To The Likes Of Trent Reznor And Nine Inch Nails. Collected Together This Set Realizes An Expansive Restoration Of One Of Stewart's Most Audacious Statements. As It Was In The Early 1980s So It Is Now, 'learning To Cope With Cowardice' Is A Masterwork Of Mutant Design And A Rude Awakening Of Extraordinary Bite.
Mark Stewart Himself Perceives 'the Lost Tapes' As A Document
That Now Possesses A Storied Significance: it Was A Real
Adventure Discovering This Forbidden History, A Twisted Tale Of
Muswell Hillbillies, French Pirates And A Dutch Schizophrenic
Doctor Doing Psychic Archaeology.' Whilst Adrian Sherwood
Describes These Works As Characteristic Of A Distinct Primitivism: ('the Lost Tapes' Represent) The Early Childhood Of The Songs Before Mark And Me Conducted Frenzied, Scorched Earth, Slash And-burn, Twenty Hour Mental, Manic Editing Sessions At Crass' Studios That Led To Birthing The Finished Album.'
Don't Bite Records are happy to announce the release of producer/rapper Tom Dice's solo LP. The witty title has been more than prophetic. These are not just rhythms of Dice but rhythms of life. Reflection, auto biography and idiosyncricity are abundant, as shown on the final track, 'Irrepressible'. 'Put on a uniform, conform, consume, dance to another man's tune that's off key. That never was and never will be the essence of a man like T.o.m D".
From 'The Death of Me''s dark refrain 'How ironic I died from a shock electronic.....clutching at the MPC, finally..... music got the better of me, the energy', we know that Dice is fearless in pushing the envelope and the boundaries of what can be lyrically possible. However Dice acknowledges his influences and the importance of their recognition on 'Authentic'.
On 'Tears Run Dry' Tom touches on feelings of alienation: 'I'm not a loser cos I can't win, I'm just an outsider still looking in' whereas on 'Feelings' he examines the connection between emotion and physical feeling. 'Feelings- computers don't have it, they try to emulate that basic human magic'
On the LP Rhythms of Dice and particularly the track 'Rhythms of Dice' he is rhyming from a producers point of view. 'All you guys who do like 6 tracks a day...how good are they You need to focus your mind or really just stay...wondering....You heard my beat in a studio and just wandered in'
Tom is ably assisted by long time collaborators/ label mates The Phantom and Jumpsteady. While he explores the exploitation of the thug genre on 'Thug killer', he also comes with a new style on 'Interchange' where he and Jumpsteady rap the first 4 bars of each others rhymes causing 1, seamless, verse. We hope you enjoy this tenth release from Don't Bite Records which continues to strive for individual style and originality and embrace our motto that "Only pirates take that which is not yet theirs!"
'Pirates Choice' by the Senegalese band Orchestra Baobab is one of those rarest of albums, an
undisputed classic. World Circuit release the album as a double LP for the frst tme.
Orchestra Baobab's sound is unique, a beautful fusion of Cuban and African music. This recording,
made in 1982, became something of a Holy Grail to fans of 'world music' in the '80s and captures that
sound to perfecton. Listening to these efortlessly relaxed and soulful performances the listener has
the impression of eavesdropping on a very special private event.
