A complex and sometimes belligerent character in real life, on record,
John Martyn was the epitome of the folk-dreamer, embodying the spirit
of the bourgeoning London acoustic scene of the late 60s
Well- known and respected for his 70s albums Solid Air and One World, this is
where it began.John Martyn met Beverley Kutner and the pair married in 1969.
Kutner was a dazzling folk singer who had been invited by Paul Simon to sing on
Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends album. It was obvious that two such talents united
in love should also unite in music. Stormbringer! – produced by Joe Boyd – was
the first of two albums billed to both of them.
Recorded in Woodstock, the album featured The Band's Levon Helm on drums on
Beverley's standout, eight-minute long Sweet Honesty. Not to be overshadowed
John also contributed John The Baptist, one of his career highlights, with
Beverley adding sweet backing vocals.
This re-issue faithfully replicates the original 1970 Island Records UK release and
is pressed onto high quality 180g vinyl.

Known as ‘the Architect of Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ the flamboyant rhythm and blues extrovert, Little Richard, made an incredible impact with unorthodox piano playing and rasping, shouted vocals, yielding a series of pivotal hits in the mid-1950s, but he abandoned secular music for gospel following a tour of Australia in 1957. Lured back into rock by promoter Don Arden, his UK tour featuring The Beatles as support, Little Richard Is Back was his comeback set for Vee Jay, his voice now deeper and seasoned; the range of covers are tackled with plenty of pep, and original ‘Groovy Little Suzy’ was co-written by Harry Nillson. All hail the King!

The Jolisa EP marks a significant shift in Luca dell’Orso’s sound. Although the electric hooks and rolling rhythms that characterise the dutchman’s signature style are still present, new avenues are explored. One notable change is the addition of vocals, care of the EP’s namesake: Jolisa. The opening, “Sixteen”, smoulders with a palpable intensity. Steady beats and textured pads support synth stabs as impassioned vocals recant a tale of past lessons. “Reach Out”, on the flip, is a different animal. Big and daring, chords chug next slicing snares while lyrics brim with hope. Two instrumental works balance the four tracker. “Nighttime” is perfectly sculpted with a soulful melody and clean percussion, vocoder lyrics giving a sorrowful slant to track. A true epic closes: “Tomorrow’s Already Here.” Bold keys and racing rhythms collide in this 80s steeped extravaganza, electro-disco and car chases in this incredible end. The very first vinyl edition of Andrew Gold’s pastiche
psychedelic masterpiece ‘The Fraternal Order of the All –
Greetings from Planet Love’.
Initially released in 1997, the album was conceived by
Andrew Gold as a tribute to late 60s psychedelic rock. His
remarkable compositions were wonderful stylistic
evocations of artists such as The Beatles, The Beach
Boys, The Byrds and The Doors.
The project saw Gold create the fictitious band The
Fraternal Order of the All, in reality Andrew playing
most of the instrumentation and singing, along with guest
musicians such as Graham Gouldman.
This Esoteric Recordings limited edition double LP is
pressed on 10-inch coloured splatter vinyl and features a
newly designed lavish gatefold sleeve.

Neben dem ultrabrutalen Gesang von Bo Summer (Illdisposed) wurde Rasmus Henriksen (der eigentliche Gitarrist von Illdisposed) rekrutiert, um den Rhythmus für Solist Frederik O'Carroll vorzugeben, während Exmortems ungemein talentierter Schlagzeuger Reno Hilligsø "Killerich" Killerich zusammen mit Bassist und Panzerchrist-Visionär Michael Enevoldsen, alias Panzergeneral, den Takt angab. Nun wird dieser brutale Death Metal-Klassiker erstmals auf Vinyl veröffentlicht, und zwar in wertvollem schwarzem 180-Gramm-Vinyl, limitiert auf 300 Exemplare. Der Sound wurde zudem von Tue Madsen in den Antfarm Studios komplett neu gemastert.

Irish DJ and producer, Ben Prophet, has caught the attention of some of the electronic scene’s most influential names in recent years. Currently residing in the underground music hub of Newcastle, his dark and exhilarating tracks have proven to captivate dancefloors. Now the artist is set to embark on his most monumental release to date, with the four track EP ‘From Dusk’. Staying distinctly true to himself, the EP channels Prophet’s love for bassline, electronica, and techno, whilst placing a key focus on mechanical vocals that add a mind-bending element that listeners can get lost in. ‘From Dusk’ will be released to the world via HAAi and Alice Pelly’s Radical New Theory label, a proven base for projecting emerging talent.

‘From Dusk’ is an EP that serves as a bold declaration. Prophet was determined to take listeners on a journey across the four tracks. Never resting on his laurels, the artist ventured into many corners of the dance world, whilst maintaining a core signature sound. Opener ‘Telepathy’ Sees Prophet build an emphatic, heavy hitting techno track, centring around a manipulated spoken-word vocal. It’s a sound that holds nothing back and is showcased again on ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’. Equally dark in its design, Prophet once more places distorted vocals at the forefront, this time displaying an industrial take on breakbeat. On the flip side, we see ‘Ocarina’ and title track ‘From Dusk’ turn the dark energy on its head with a distinctly melodic approach which adds a touch of psychedelia and high emotion to the EP. What’s clear is there’s something on ‘From Dusk’ for anyone that loves club music.

Speaking on the release, Prophet states:“HAAi has been one of the biggest inspirations for my sound, so to have become friends and to release my music on her label Radical New Theory is a massive moment for me. I’ve taken a different approach on each track, but each has my signature sound and is ready for the dance floor.”

HAAi also offers an insight into why she wanted to release ‘From Dusk’ on Radical New Theory: “Ben Prophet’s tracks have such a driving force and a dark energy to them, which is so powerful in the club. I’m extremely excited to get this record out in the world.”

Prophet’s previous releases ‘Hyper Funk EP’ and ‘King Of Rock’ on Chapeau music and Happy Wax Records respectively reached dancefloors across the world with regular plays from the likes of Mall Grab, Skream and VTSS. His gritty and energetic productions are born for the peak-time dance floor where its power creates intoxicating effects. No longer a hidden gem of the North East, the artist's music has gathered serious momentum and ‘From Dusk’ might well be the record that makes Ben Prophet a household name.

Defected’s vinyl series continues to commit the label’s biggest digital releases to wax, delivering some of the best house music previously unavailable on vinyl. The fifteenth edition celebrates two artists who have put their stamp on the international scene; Chicago’s face of new house John Summit, and internationally renowned Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn. The A-side of this four-track EP begins with one of the biggest hits of summer 2022. A Latin-infused tech house record, the BBC Radio 1 A-Listed ‘La Danza’ is bursting with energy thanks to infectious vocals that we have come to expect from John Summit. What follows on the A is a dark and gripping remix of ‘Whisper’, originally by Dennis Ferrer & Disciples and featuring vocals from James Yuill. The two tracks show Summit’s range as a producer, from the light, inviting sound of ‘La Danza’ to the heavy tech house of ‘Whisper’. The B-side features Ferreck Dawn’s collaborations with two of the London’s most recognisable dance vocalists. ‘Life’ (written and recorded with Izzy Bizu) is an excellent demonstration of the producer’s signature vocal house style, brimming with summertime energy whilst still retaining a cool club feel. Finishing off the collection is ‘Back Tomorrow’, a clubbier house collaboration featuring shuffling percussion, a grooving bassline, and a distinct piano line that contrasts with Jem Cooke’s haunting vocals.

Originally released in 1981, this is the 4th EP from legendary British hardcore group Discharge and it's perhaps their most famous and widely regarded recording. A blistering 10 tracks clocking in at around 15 minutes total, Why reached #1 on the UK indie charts which, when listening today, seems like a miraculous feat for such a brutal and revolutionary sound. Discharge paved the way for '80s crust and thrash punk and literally have a genre of punk named after their unique rhythmic approach and the dozens of imitators it spawned, "D-beat"; this EP, along with the classic debut album, Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing (RRS90), are the most essential items in their catalog. True punks must get this!

PUTAS VAMPIRAS Vol.1 is the debut release of PUTAS VAMPIRAS, a DJ and producer who is an icon of Sao Paulo's queer underground scene.

As the organizer and mother of the infamous VAMPIRE HAUS raves and its community of vampires, her work is a celebration of DIY culture, resistance and an unapologetic commitment to inclusion and the freedom of the Brazilian LGBTQIA+ community.

Over the last decade VAMPIRE HAUS has become much more than a rave, its an aesthetic, a mind-set and a movement that spans across the whole of Latin- America. After almost 10 years, it is finally debuting as a record label.

In this first release, PUTAS VAMPIRAS reimagines post-punk attitudes and the frenzied energy of a rock and roll mosh pit through the lens of the queer Sao Paulo underground. The album's tracks were built to withstand the heat of the VAMPIRE HAUS raves, and to satisfy the legions of dissident ravers, drag monster queens, techno lovers, and "vampiras" from all around the world. She describes her sound as VAMPIRE TECHNO, the perfect soundtrack to a kinkier and queerer alternative reality version of Tony Scott's "The Hunger" movie.

All the tracks on this compilation are anthems at the VAMPIRE HAUS raves and part of PUTAS VAMPIRAS' live performances in recent years, with the track "Puta Vampira Bixa Loka" becoming the soundtrack of LGBTQ freedom and empowerment in Sao Paulo.

Using a hybrid setup of analog drum machines, modular synths and vinyl during her performances, PUTAS VAMPIRAS made thousands of "vampiras" dance like there was no tomorrow.

She has performed on BOILER ROOM and extensively toured across the world, playing amongst many places in the UK, USA, India, Turkey, Ukraine, Chile, and Paraguay and being the first Brazilian to perform a hardware live set on the main floor of Berghain.

PUTAS VAMPIRAS has become a household name and a symbol of LGBTQ+ empowerment, liberation, and resistance and her music will carry the VAMPIRE TECHNO spirit into more corners of the world.

Hailing from Macclesfield, Cheshire, and growing up in Cheadle Hulme, John Mayall had already made a name for himself on the Manchester blues scene before relocating to London in 1963 at the urging of Alexis Korner.

Following the breakup of The Bluesbreakers in 1968, Mayall took a three week break in LA, and it proved an eye-opener for him. As a result, Blues From Laurel Canyon was a concept album of sorts, a view of a Brit Abroad at a time when it wasn't de rigueur to travel. 2401 especially is an incredible confection – acknowledging Cream, foreseeing Led Zeppelin; Mick Taylor's slide guitar would soon be heard in the Rolling Stones. Pop/rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. is the lead & rhythm guitarist and songwriting member of the GRAMMY® and BRIT Awards-winning band The Strokes. He has released 4 solo albums to date, most recently the acclaimed “Francis Trouble” in 2018 which spawned the radio single “Far Away Truths”. In the 4 years, since then, The Strokes released their US Top 10 charting GRAMMY® nominated rock record “The New Abnormal” and toured the world extensively. Albert also began the songwriting process for his 5th solo album “Melodies on Hiatus”, a 19-track album, crafted in a most experimental style. Albert teamed up with his writing partner, Canadian songwriter, and poet Simon Wilcox (whom he never met during the process) and had lengthy conversations via the telephone; Simon would jot down notes from Albert’s stream of consciousness, and draft the lyrics on her typewriter, and drop them into his letterbox! Albert then added the lyrics to the melodies he had already crafted. The songwriting process became a long distant “anonymous love affair of ideas & lyrics.” The album covers themes of childhood, surviving adolescence, adulthood, vulnerability, fame, relationship with self and others, and is Albert’s “deconstructed broken down ego reaction” to “Francis Trouble.” The album also features songs with GoldLink, Matt Helders (of the Arctic Monkeys), Steve Stevens and Rainsford, and was mixed by Tony Hoffer (known for his work with Beck, Air, M83, The Kooks, Fitz and the Tantrums, Metric, Chromeo, etc.) and mastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters (Paramore, Spoon, Tame Impala, Jimmy Eat World, Peanut Butter Wolfe).
