Over two decades later, the underground classic that lit the fuse on indie hip-hop’s next era finally gets its vinyl debut. Originally dropped in 2001, Table Scraps is a gritty, no-frills compilation of unreleased tracks and lost sessions from the formative years of MHz, the Columbus, Ohio hip hop crew that helped define an era before the mainstream caught wind of the underground. Recorded between 1997–2001, the album is raw, urgent, and packed with early glimpses of the greatness that would follow.
The core lineup is fully intact and fully in form: Copywrite flexes his unmatched wordplay and delivers two self-produced heaters, “The Funnel” (co-produced) and “Combustion Spontaneous,” proving he’s just as deadly behind the boards. Tage Future brings futuristic cadence and sharp delivery, Jakki Da Motamouth stays unapologetically rugged, and the late Camu Tao is in rare, untamed form, a creative force whose brilliance only grew from here. Holding it all together are beats from RJD2, Mighty Mi, Camu, and Copywrite himself.
Pressed on vinyl for the first time ever, Table Scraps is more than a collection, it’s a time capsule from a crew that helped shape the underground before it had a name.

Colosseum was one of England's prime rock-jazz outfits. Most of the members of Colosseum had apprenticed in blues bands and it shows very strongly on some of the material on their second album. Recorded in the wake of Dr. King's assassination, this 1969 single from Mississippi-born, Chicago-raised Syl Johnson stands as one of the starkest and most soul-wrenching protest songs ever committed to tape. Built around a slow, smouldering groove and the raw ache of Johnson's vocal, 'Is It Because I'm Black' is less a call to arms than a question hung in the air-resigned, frustrated, defiant. The Pieces of Peace deliver a restrained but deeply felt arrangement: skeletal drums, moody bass, mournful horns, all circling Johnson's voice like a sermon in minor key. What could feel like despair instead pulses with something tougher-dignity, clarity, and a refusal to shut up. The record would later be sampled by Wu-Tang and reinterpreted in Jamaica, but nothing quite matches the grit and sorrow of the original. Ochi, who at the time was the in-house composer and performer for world-renowned designer Issey Miyake, created a series of elemental pieces that blur the line between avant-garde percussion, ritual music, and environmental sound art. Ltd. Orange Vinyl Finnish powerhouse Bloodred Hourglass (BRHG) return with their seventh studio album “We Should Be Buried Like This”, a bold and unrelenting statement from a band that has steadily evolved into one of the most commanding forces in modern death metal. Hailing from Mikkeli, BRHG have long stood out for their ability to merge the ferocity of thrash and groove metal with the immersive soundscapes of metalcore, alternative metal, and melodic death. Kernstück des Albums ist die fast achtminütige Version von Prince" "Purple Rain". Hier zieht Barbiani alle Register - das Genie aus Minnesota hätte seine Freude daran gehabt. Der JBB beherrscht aber auch durchaus leisere und sanftere Töne, wie der verträumte akustische Instrumentaltrack "Little Martha" zeigt. Das anfänglich leicht schleppende "Spend Me Your Light" hingegen versprüht reichlich Southern-Feeling, während bei "We Must Dream" dem Boogie gehuldigt wird - irgendwo zwischen Canned Heat und ZZ Top. Wer auf bodenständigen, eingängigen Bluesrock steht, ist hier richtig.

Oracle, 1993 aufgenommen und ursprünglich 1994 veröffentlicht, dokumentiert das erste Duo-Aufeinandertreffen
zweier ECM-Legenden: des Kontrabassisten Gary Peacock und Ralph Towner an klassischer und zwölfsaitiger Gitarre (eine weitere Session folgte 1998 mit A Closer View). Wie das Magazin Gramophone damals
feststellte, erzeugen Peacock und Towner auf dem Album eine „intellektuelle Intensität“, die „verführerisch
schön anzuhören“ sei. Bei der Auseinandersetzung mit den eigenen Stücken entfaltet das Duo ein nachdenkliches Zusammenspiel, das komponiertes Material und abenteuerliche Improvisation nahtlos verbindet
