Scouring the globe for the freshest cuts Volume 22 is another multinational affair combining the skills of Colombian duo Vagabundo Club Social, Mexico’s Monsieur Van Pratt, Italy’s Infradisco and New York’s Roland & Brother Rich.

Opening affairs are the hugely exciting duo Vagabundo Club Social with their track ‘Costero’. They are producers who nimbly fuse dusty Latin grooves with cutting edge production techniques and dancefloor know-how and here have delivered yet another feel good dancefloor smash. ‘Costero’ is quite simply a DJ’s dream track which will do the business at any end of the set whether you need to get the crowd on the floor or tear the proverbial roof off.

Mexico is currently at the leading tip of the disco charge and Monsieur Van Pratt is one of the stand-out producers from a country bursting with talent. ‘Jazz Player’ pulls absolutely no punches combining jazz cool with disco know-how for a track which wins on all counts. Sublime brass solos sit atop a huge funky gem of a bassline. ‘Jazz Player’ will tear dance-floors up worldwide as the world starts to rediscover its long since packed away dancing shoes.

Italy’s Infradisco is up next with ‘Aungasana’ and it’s the perfect track to follow on combining many of the traits that both Vagabundo Social Club and Monsieur Van Pratt utilised on their tracks. Expect huge jazzy horns, funky bass and tribal vocals building up to a monstrous organ groove which raises proceedings to fever pitch. Infectious and energetic, it’s another seriously classy dancefloor moment.

Closing out the EP are New Yorkers Roland & Brother Rich with the exquisitely titled ‘Roger Moore’s Living Room’. Paying homage to the James Bond legend it’s the ideal track to sip brandy and toast the characters of yesteryear in that velvet smoking jacket you have always wanted. Deep and Jazzy with the essence of the 70s flowing through it’s DNA ‘Roger Moore’s Living Room’ is a track so effortlessly cool that even Blofeld would be throwing some shapes.

Like a thief in the night, and almost 4 for years after his critically acclaimed full-length album Kabul Fire Vol 2, beat virtuoso Farhot has returned to the (crime) scene with his latest all-instrumental record "stealing from cats". While on his last LP, he took listeners on a journey to the dusty streets of his birthplace Kabul, he is now taking them along as he goes out stealing sounds from dusty Jazz archives. Reminiscent of that time when Blue Note invited Madlib into their catacombs to create the seminal "Shades of Blue" LP, this slow-paced record sees Farhot eclectically fusing Jazz samples with downtempo, instrumental hip-hop art. From the hazy, chopped vocal samples of the intro tune "selfish" to the dreamy closer "they need me", this 12-song masterpiece is as much an homage to the virtuosity of Jazz cats as it is to the fine art of sampling that Farhot cheekily calls stealing.

The Leipzig-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer first found wide attention with his 2022 debut Happy Floating, and his subsequent album I Can Feel My Dreams was named the #1 Contemporary Album of 2024 by The Guardian, an accolade that broadened his audience and deepened confidence in his evolving voice. That second album, written between Europe and South America, opened unexpected doors and took Dalla Torre to stages across New York, Japan and Italy. “When you release music, it’s very intimate,” he reflects. “You show your emotions pretty raw. I was kind of scared. But getting so much positive feedback gave me a lot of self-confidence to try out more.”

People Pleaser begins in that quiet shift of confidence.

The title stayed with him for months before he committed to it. “It was a working title for a long time,” he says. “I didn’t actually think I would use it. But this term also felt somehow relevant in connection with the phase of self-negotiation during the development process. Some aspects are related to pressure, others are positive.” The ambiguity felt right. Rather than presenting it as a statement, Dalla Torre leaves it open, an invitation rather than a confession.
At the centre of People Pleaser is collaboration. Guitarist Bertram Burkert, whose playing stretches from classical delicacy to electric abstraction, joined Dalla Torre in the studio for an intensive three-day session, recording a wide palette of textures that would become the backbone of the album. Vocalist Laura Zöschg, a key live collaborator, harpist Babett Niclas, organist Felix Römer, tape experimentalist Markus Rom, marimba and vibraphonist Volker Heuken and Japanese artist Manami Kakudo also contribute, creating a sound that feels intimate yet expansive.

Wenn SABLE der Prolog war, ein Prolog in der Dunkelheit, eine kontrollierte Verbrennung, die den Weg für neue Möglichkeiten ebnet, dann ist fABLE das Buch, das folgt. Wo SABLE, ein Werk der Einsamkeit war, ist fABLE eine ausgestreckte Hand. Strahlende, verschnörkelte Popmusik umspielt Vernons Stimme, während er sich auf eine neue und schöne Ära konzentriert. Bei jedem Lied sind seine Augen auf eine bestimmte Person gerichtet. Es ist Liebe, was bedeutet, dass in fABLE eine intensive Klarheit, Konzentration und Ehrlichkeit herrscht. Es ist das Porträt eines Mannes, der von dieser ersten Begegnung überflutet und überwältigt ist ("Everything Is Peaceful Love"). Es ist ein Tableau, das von Sex und unbändigem Verlangen geprägt ist ("Walk Home"). Ein Mann, voller Licht und Tatendrang, der eine ganze Zukunft vor sich sieht. Verliebtheit hat etwas unbestreitbar Heilendes an sich, und die intensive Klarheit, Konzentration, Ehrlichkeit und Feierlichkeit, die sie in diese Songs bringt. Doch der Schatten von SABLE liegt noch immer in der Luft, und alte Gefühle können zurückkehren, selbst wenn man sich die Mühe gemacht hat, neu anzufangen. Wie in einer Fabel vermittelt jeder Track eine Lektion, und in fABLE geht es um den selbstlosen Rhythmus, der erforderlich ist, wenn man mit einer anderen Person verstrickt ist. Der vorletzte Song - und im weiteren Sinne das ganze Album - ist ein Versprechen. Er ist bereit, diesen Rhythmus zu finden.

Very impressively Eden Burns lands at „Big Beat Manifesto Vol. XII“. This is two BBM releases per year, spread across the past 6 years. Besides casually slipping in an Album „Eden Burns And the Make Believers“ (2025) and various other side projects. The prophet of the Big Beat is restless in the most positive way one can think off. We are all blessed to have him in our lives. What would Music World be without him? We do not want to know. More good news: he’s coming to tour Europe to promote this record. ,In the Grace Of Your Love" kam ursprünglich 2011 raus und war ein Neustart für The Rapture und eine willkommene Rückkehr zu DFA, dem Label, das ihnen zu ihrem sofort erfolgreichen Debüt ,Echoes" verholfen hatte. Der Schwung und Erfolg dieser Jahre führte zu einer Achterbahnfahrt mit einem großen Label, die sie wieder da landete, wo sie angefangen hatten - mit Narben, aber jetzt frei, die Grenzen der Erwartungen zu sprengen. Begleitet wurden sie dabei vom verstorbenen, großartigen Philippe Zdar, einer Hälfte des französischen Dance-Duos Cassius und Produzent von Künstlern wie Phoenix und den Beastie Boys. Zdars Begeisterung und technisches Können sind schon in den ersten 30 Sekunden des Albums zu hören: ,Sail Away" ist The Rapture in voller Pracht und Strahlkraft, ein fünfminütiger Ausatem mit Disco-Drums. Natürlich gibt es auch jede Menge Futter für die Dance-Kids - ,How Deep Is Your Love" rockt immer noch die Tanzflächen der New Yorker Bars, ,Miss You" ist ein unwiderstehlicher kleiner Streich in Moll -, aber insgesamt herrscht das Gefühl vor, dass man langsamer wird, Bilanz zieht und an den richtigen statt an den falschen Orten nach Sinn und Liebe sucht. Daher auch das Finale: ,It Takes Time To Be a Man", ein charmant ehrlicher, von Klavierklängen untermalter Song über Verantwortung übernehmen und anderen helfen. Er klingt wie nichts anderes im Repertoire von The Rapture und rundet es dennoch perfekt ab. Der Abspann läuft, die Zeit vergeht, Platten bedeuten immer noch alles.

Xerrox Vol. 1 is the third studio album by German electronic artist Alva Noto. It was released in 2007 as part of the ongoing Xerrox pentalogy, based on the concept of digital replication of source material.

Using the process of copying as a basis, the Xerrox series deals with the manipulation of data through endless reproduction. Due to the inherent fallacy of making copies from other copies, everyday sounds become so altered that they are hardly associated with their source material. As a result, entirely new sounds are created: copies of originals become originals themselves.

Together with Christoph Brünggel, Nicolai designed a "sample transformer" that takes audio fragments and manipulates them beyond recognition. In this process of taking something familiar and defamiliarizing it, samples from obvious sources-advertising jingles, airport tones, telephone hold music, and film soundtracks-were used and altered, resulting in sounds totally unlike their original source. The result is a series of haunting, intricately realised pieces that recontextualise Nicolai's "glitches and bass" sound into extended, cinematic, organic, and almost orchestral works.

Xerrox Vol. 1 was followed by Xerrox Vol. 2 (2009), Xerrox Vol. 3 (2015), Xerrox Vol. 4 (2020), Xerrox Vol. 5 (2024). This remastered version will be reissued on NOTON in 2026

Xerrox Vol. 3 is the eighth solo studio album by German electronic artist Alva Noto, released in 2015 as part of the ongoing Xerrox penthalogy, which began with Xerrox Vol. 1 (2007) and Xerrox Vol. 2 (2009).
Inspired by formative influences such as Andrei Tarkovsky's 1971 film Solaris, La Isla Misteriosa y el Capitán Nemo by Juan Antonio Bardem, and Henri Colpi, Carsten Nicolai exchanges austerity for cinematographic lushness in the remarkably widescreen third volume of his Xerrox series.

In line with the series' focus on "using the process of copying as a basis," the eleven compositions of this volume can be heard as copies of memories, exploring emotional data patterns that are reflected as melodic vectors and noise.

This remastered version will be reissued on NOTON in 2026

Tearoom Vibes Vol. 2 (Various Artists)

Pennyroyal returns with its fifth vinyl release, PYRY05, presenting Tearoom Vibes Vol. 2. A Various Artists compilation focused on electro, techno and cosmic-leaning club tracks, built for late-night and after-hours settings.
Featuring Mama (Exarde, Griffe), Bruno (22 Recordings), rising Egyptian artist Saharty, Thomas (Rebvs, debut release) and Gianluca Pellerano (CMDRPX). A tight and functional VA with a clear underground attitude.

On October 2 1958, after over 60 years of colonial rule, Guineans voted overwhelmingly for their independence, and Guinea was declared a Republic with Sékou Touré as President. Guinea was the first of West Africa’s Francophone colonies to gain independence. To free Guinea from its colonial legacy, president Touré sought to restore dignity to his nation and give cause for Guineans to take pride in their culture, history and newfound freedom. To achieve this, he instructed his government to implement new cultural policies that were intended to revitalise and celebrate indigenous culture. The focus of these new policies was on music.

In 1961, President Touré launched authenticité, the name of his new cultural policy for Guinea. One of its first acts was to assemble the best Guinean musicians into a new state-sponsored orchestras that were tasked with presenting traditional Guinean music in a new and modern style. All musicians in Guinea’s orchestras were officially designated as members of the public service. During the years of Sékou Touré’s presidency (1958 – 1984), the government’s cultural policy of authenticité was applied strictly to the creative arts. Guinea’s sole political party, the Parti Démocratique de Guinée exercised complete authority over artistic production. The scale of the Guinean government’s commitment and efforts to invigorate its indigenous musical cultures was unmatched in Africa, and it presented a clear contrast to the minimal endeavours undertaken by Guinea’s former colonial rulers.

From 1967 to 1983, Guinea’s government presented selections of songs from the Voix de la Révolution catalogue on its own recording label, Syliphone. These recordings were described as ‘the fruit of the revolution’. Syliphone was revolutionary in many aspects: it was the first recording label to feature traditional African musical instruments such as the kora and balafon within an orchestre setting; it was the first to present the traditional songs of the griots within an orchestre setting; and it was the first government-sponsored recording label of post-colonial Africa. Syliphone represented authenticité in action, and over 750 songs were released by the recording label on 12-inch and 7-inch vinyl discs. All are highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

This is the second of a two-volume release which presents a selection of the best songs from Guinea's Syliphone recording label. This volume focuses on recordings from the 1970s, when Guinea’s authenticité policy had transformed the nation's music through a network of over 30 orchestras, each representing their local region, and each presenting Guinean musical traditions alongside the influences of Cuban music, jazz and funk.

Again, a unique compilation by the leading Belgian re-release label Walhalla Records, specialized in minimal synth, cold wave, electro, and more. Following the widely acclaimed — and mostly sold-out — previous Underground Wave releases, totaling six albums so far and counting, there is now Volume 7. This release features Dutch and Belgian bands, each filling one side of the record. It offers a wealth of ultra-rare and previously unreleased material sourced from cassettes, deeply rooted in the electronic scene of the 80s and 90s.

His rhythm and melodic compositions differ from the western agreed schedules and provide surprising twists.
'Puerto Rican drummer Frank Rosaly has been involved in the improvised and experimental music scenes since 2001 when he became an integral part of Chicago's musical fabric, navigating a fine line between the vibrant improvised music, experimental, rock and jazz communities.
'Oscar Jan Hoogland is the sound of Amsterdam in person. He is an instant composer and inventor of his own instrument by joining a clavichord, a keyboard instrument from the 17th century, to 220 Volt electricity. As the last student of the late pianist, composer and improvisor Misha Mengelberg he tears like a tornado through the Amsterdam jazz and impro scene.

Dark Entries release 'A Boy Alone', a double LP set from Manchester electronic music pioneer Eric Random. Best known for his early recordings for New Hormones and Les Disques du Crépuscule and collaborations with Pete Shelley (Buzzcocks), Cabaret Voltaire and Nico.

As an original member of The Tiller Boys with Shelley, Random injected a healthy dose of Krautrock into the dour Manchester post-punk scene in 1978/79 before going solo the following year. Random's first 7' 'Subliminal'/'23 Skidoo' was released in 1981 via Les Disques du Crépuscule and explored ominous sonic surrounds. That same year also saw the release of a second 7" single on New Hormones, 'Dow Chemical Company'/ 'Skin Deep'. Both tracks offered bubbling, rhythmic sound patterns, and were the first to feature other musicians that would become know as The Bedlamites. Consisting of Lynn Walton on vocals, Ian Runacres and Andy Diagram of Dislocation Dance, and bassist Wayne Worm, aka Wayne Sedgeman. Their debut 12' single 'Subliminal Seduction'/'Bedlam-a-Go-Go' was released in 1982 through Plurex, mixing arid funk textures and sparse melodies. That same year the group contributed proto chill-out track '6.55' to Plurex compilation 'Hours' and the highly filmic track 'In Cassette Conference' to the Touch cassette package 'Feature Mist'. In 1983, Random spent several months in the Himalayas with a group of musicians from the Kulu Valley and studied non-Western instruments such as tabla. On returning to Manchester, Random convened a new group of Belamites including Walton, Sedgeman and drummer Graham Dowdall aka Dids of Ludus. They released the 12' single 'Mad As Mankind'/'Dream Web Of Maya' in 1984 on Cabaret Voltaire's Doublevision, embracing electronic, industrial and dub styles. In 1985 they contributed the soothing 'Pure Power' to Food Records' 'Imminent Episode One' compilation.

Our reissue also includes 4 unreleased bonus tracks from Eric's archives recorded between 1981-1984. The whole set adds up to 115 minutes of sinister, somnambulant Random music. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. Each copy is housed in a gatefold jacket designed by Eloise Leigh featuring a spread of ephemera, photos with liner notes by James Nice of LTM.

Minimal Wave presents the 2017 Repress of the full length LP by French duo Deux. Gérard Pelletier and Cati Tete formed Deux after meeting in Lyon in 1981. Their music can be described as minimal synth with stripped down rhythm compositions and suitably cold duets. Their influences are a perfect blend of Kraftwerk and French synthpop. Between 1983 and 1992, they released a cassette and several rare singles : Felicita / Game & Performance and Europe / Paris / Orly. They also appeared on the V/A BIPP LP (2006) and most recently on V/A The Minimal Wave Tapes: Vol 1 LP. The album features newly remastered demo tracks as well as their best studio recordings. Dev/Null is one of my earliest friends in music, having done radio with him (Blog To The Oldskool on Jungletrain) for a decade and previously working with him on TDD, which was on Meeting Of The Minds Vol. 1, as well as collaborations on Globex Corp, Lobster Theremin & other label releases.

I'm happy to be able to release his first solo EP of jungle tunes, as I've been a long time supporter of his music and I think that some of the tunes on this release are some of his best work yet :)

Soulful hip hop instrumentals from Italy on Best Record-affiliated Quattro Bambole! "The "Moderna Sonorizzazioni" series by Quattro Bambole Music continues its investigation of the infinite expressive possibilities of instrumental hip-hop, recognizing it as the most contemporary form of library music. After the first two chapters - signed by Biga and JayBee Vibes - the third volume of the series, "Sport & Calcio", features the Roman producer Delphi for whom there was a lot of anticipation on the part of both Italian and scattered beatmakers everywhere in Europe and the United States. With the subtitle which is already a declaration of intent ''Tales of a boy from Rome....'' etc. etc., "Sport & Calcio" is an instrumental fresco in which football and sport become narrative pretexts to evoke images, memories and suggestions. The twelve tracks that make up the album are real cinematic sketches, in which Delphi (born Valerio Del Prete) combines raw beats, nostalgic loops, sample-delia and a narrative that evokes family Sundays, spent on the street as well as stadium, and the heat of the crowded stands. Therefore a work that is musically declined based on moments and emotions.. ''Sport & Calcio'' is therefore a deliberately introspective and not very ''danceable'' work. Sound photographs, short descriptions, themes, small fragments associated with television reports on sport... with which the artist touches chords that allow him to express a different compositional depth, a conceptual work, more descriptive and functional to the line of "Moderna Sonorizzazioni" series."

ascha Funke is creating a long overdue monument to an almost forgotten cultural artefact of the GDR: the ‘Germina Speeder’ was the only skateboard made in East Germany before reunification and was launched in 1986. It was produced by VEB Schokoladen-Verarbeitungsmaschinen (a state-owned chocolate processing machine factory) in Wernigerode and was therefore affectionately known as the ‘chocolate board’. However, it was hardly suitable for actual skateboarding due to technical inadequacies. It is not known whether Sascha himself owned such a board, but the tracks on the ‘Germina Speeder’ EP definitely roll better than the original. The opener ‘Blaupunkt’ breathes the euphoric spirit of the legendary Berlin club ‘E-Werk’, while the title track would have been more at home at the ‘Dubmission’ parties in the Turbine. Sascha leaves the 90s behind with radiant positivism; ‘Bo Knows’ sounds more like a 2000s open air at Café Schönbrunn. The EP closes with ‘Mastermind’, a high-octane psy-proghouse banger that, like all four tracks, quotes the past but still has both feet on today’s dance floors. Or rather, is dancing. 4:1 for love!

Es war ein Erzeugnis des VEB Schokoladen-Verarbeitungsmaschinen aus Wernigerode und wurde daher liebevoll auch als “Schoko-Board” bezeichnet. Zum eigentlichen Skateboardfahren war es allerdings aufgrund von technischen Unzulänglichkeiten kaum zu gebrauchen. Ob Sascha selbst ein solches Board besaß ist nicht überliefert, aber die Tracks auf der “Germina Speeder” EP rollen allemal besser als das Original. Der Opener “Blaupunkt” atmet den euphorischen Geist des legendären Berliner Clubs “E-Werk”, während der Titeltrack eher bei den “Dubmission” Parties in der Turbine gelaufen wäre. Mit strahlendem Positivismus verlässt Sascha die 90er; “Bo Knows” klingt eher nach einem 2000er Open Air am Café Schönbrunn im Volkspark Friedrichshain. Die EP schließt mit “Mastermind”, einem hochoktanigen Psy-Proghouse Knaller, der wie alle vier Tracks zwar das Vergangene zitiert, aber dennoch mit beiden Füßen auf den Tanzflächen von heute steht. Beziehungsweise tanzt. 4:1 für die Liebe!

Musician and Zoitrax record label owner ZOiD, also known as Daniel Jacobson, announces the release of his sixth album, ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2.

Featuring thirteen tracks digitally, seven of which will be released on a 12” purple marbled translucent vinyl album distributed by Rubadub, ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2 will be available in record shops and on all streaming services and Bandcamp starting Friday, 22 November 2024.

ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2 is an electronic music album showcasing ZOiD's global collaborations with jazz musicians, creating a unique form of electronic jazz. Notably, his work with jazz drummer and brother Matthew Jacobson shines on the first single “Fit In Tree” debuting on September 13. Building on this momentum, the second single, "Module Bone, " featuring jazz trombonist Colm O'Hara, will be released on September 27, followed by the third single, "ZVSW, " featuring saxophonist Steve Welsh, on October 11. A special REMIX EP by Kirk De Giorgio, Sunken Foal, Americhord, and TR-One will be out on October 25.
Expanding the album's diverse sound, ZOiD collaborated with Dublin vocalist, composer, and jazz improvisation specialist Jenna Harris on “ZVJH” and with Niwel Tsumbu, a Cork-based Congolese guitaristwho tours with Rhiannon Giddens on “ZVNT.”

ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2 is further enriched by the talents of Shane O’Donovan (H-Ci), who combines electronic and jazz elements, Australian saxophonist Daniel Rorke, US-based free improviser Catherine Sikora, Galwegian multi-instrumentalist Matthew Berrill, Dublin saxophonist Matthew Halpin (flute), and trumpeter Bill Blackmore, a key figure in Dublin's jazz scene.

ZOiD released his debut album, ZOiD Vs The Jazz Musicians of Ireland Vol. 1, in 2007. Production of ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2 began soon after, taking nearly 17 years. For Vol. 2, some musicians recorded their parts independently, while others recorded in Arad Studio with Les Keye and ZOiD's Dublin studio.

The album artwork is by New York-based artist Shane Ingersoll. The front cover displays black-and- white illustrations of Dublin in the year 2116, a city at war centred around a bold purple "ZOiD" logo, with the title "ZOiD Vs Musicians Vol 2" on the upper left. On the back cover is a 12-panel comic book story (originally written by ZOiD using stick figures) and a glowing robotic hand.

Thanks England x The cairn referred to almost certainly dates back to the bronze age, and the name Carneddau, refers to the many prehistoric burial cairns found high up in the nippi peaks.

The Mental Groove Classic series returns with a treasure trove of rare and hard to find tracks plucked from the personal collection of label founder Olivier Ducret, a pivotal figure in Switzerland's acid house and rave-era party scene.

On Volumes Two and Three of the series - the first installment hit stores in 2017 - the Mental Groove and Musique Pour La Danse label founder takes us back to the turn of the '90s, a time he spent promoting parties in fields, squats, forests, warehouses and former factories in and around Geneva and behind the counter of a record shop of the same name. While others in Switzerland's emerging dance music scene gravitated towards US house and garage, Olivier and his crew opted for a bass, breaks and techno-focused sound inspired by regular trips to clubs, raves and record shops in the UK.

Drawing directly from his own record box and a memory bank full of snapshots of euphoric dancefloor moments, Mental Groove Classics volumes Two and Three sees Olivier reaching for cuts of near-mythical rarity, genuinely overlooked gems, and undeniably brilliant tracks that have left a long-lasting impression on the local raving landscape. It's an autobiographical audio document, historical archive and personal musical statement all rolled into one, inspired by a moment in time where musical boundaries were being redrawn in a wave of carefree optimism and freedom inspired new rave scenes across Europe and far beyond.

Welcome back to sublabel Trix Trax, our series dedicated to sharing the Techno side of things.

After a little hiatus Trix Trax is back with a stacked four track VA, Technotations Vol. 1. Blending techno, IDM and breaks this releases showcases some of the many styles and energies the genre has to offer.

Starting off the VA, we have the track ‘Losing’ from Japanese producer MAGPOST. This loopy, hypnotic groover will add a layer of intrigue and mystery to your deep and moody sets!

Next up we have ‘Rise’ from JD Typo who’s debut EP, started off the Trix Trax series. This speedy techno cut will cause mayhem on the dance floors, nourishing souls in its wake with ethereal lush pads and vocal chops that creep in as the track progresses!

On the flip side we have a sobering track from Ukrainian producer Taras Vinnichenko called 24.02.22. Created the day Russia invaded Ukraine, t’s an auditory diary of Taras’ reaction to the unfolding of events. The crunch of the bass and breaks audate the panic and disarray on the ground.

Closing off the EP we have a unique groover from US producer Mr. Projectile who recently released an album on Wex sub label, La Luna. This crunchy and jittery cut takes you on a bass heavy, boom-filled journey of speedy techno and IDM!

On the sleeve, Sonia Malpeso delivers another whacky custom design on the front sleeve as well as a beautiful typographic showcase on the back and inner sleeve!

Compiling the follow-up to a very successful first album is always a tricky task, but just 12 months since the release of volume one in the 'With Love' series, miche has excelled himself once again with another glorious, deep dive into the world of rare soul. 15 tracks of independently released music, created by magnificent artists with stories to tell and primed for rediscovery.

The ambition to celebrate under-the-radar artists has remained, but instead of a facsimile of volume one, what we have here is a selection shaped by life changes. Volume two is for the dancers; still soulful, still ultra-rare and slept-on records from the USA, Chile, Brazil and beyond, but the dynamics of the collection have shifted slightly. It represents a move from being immersed in a week in week out environment of beautiful, soulful music in a cosy, dimly lit hi-fi bar to playing livelier, more energetic, dancefloor-focused music in nightclubs. This volume will get you on your feet, make you move and unleash whatever it is that makes you get down.

One of the jewels in the crown of this compilation is a joyous, anthemic gospel version of Stevie Wonder's 'As' by The Family Tree (a project produced by the fantastic Julius Brockington). We are also treated to a rare and sought-after Pennsylvanian funk / AOR bomb by Maxwell, a stunning modern soul tune 'High On You' by Freedom, and self-released Brazilian 45s by Banda 22 and Zé Da Lata. P.J. City's 'Straight Forward (Non-Stop)' is gospel-disco perfection, and we also have 'Dame Solamente Amor’, a sublime, soul beauty from Chile by Rogers Mitchell. Many of these artists featured in this compilation aren't household names, but they deserve their moment to shine, to be heard, loved and appreciated for their artistry.

"Es war der Beginn davon, Platten zu machen, die wir selbst anhören würden", sagt Michael D'Addario, der jüngere der Twig-Brüder, heute 26 Jahre alt. Spätestens mit "A Dream Is All We Know" und dem zukünftigen Michael-Klassiker "My Golden Years" hatte die neue Ära der Lemon Twigs wirklich begonnen. Und nun erscheint das dritte Lemon-Twigs-Album für Captured Tracks, "Look For Your Mind!", das unter seiner poppigen Oberfläche einen unterschwelligen Strom aus Paranoia und Misstrauen trägt. Der Opener, der titelgebende Track "Look For Your Mind", ein beschwingtes Stück von Michael, führt die Hörer*innen in den gitarrengetriebenen Harmonie-Sound ein, der das zentrale Thema des Albums bildet. Vieles, was auf "A Dream Is All We Know" erreicht wurde, ist auch hier präsent - nur noch fokussierter. Es sind klassische Twigs, geprägt vom goldenen Zeitalter des Gitarrenpops, aber in keiner Weise sklavisch nachempfunden. Neu auf diesem Album ist die Einbindung der Live-Mitglieder Reza Matin (Schlagzeug) und Danny Ayala (Bass) sowie Eva Chambers von Tchotchke in die Rhythmusgruppe. Während die Brüder zuvor im Studio alles selbst eingespielt hatten, zeigt dies ein neues Gefühl von Freiheit. "Gather Round" ist eine der größeren Produktionen auf "Look For Your Mind!" - ein Brian-Song mit freudigen Orchestrierungen, der wie ein Wahlkampflied aus der Jahrhundertwende wirkt. Der Songwriter sucht nach einer unverdorbenen Führungsperson, kommt aber zu dem Schluss, dass kollektives Handeln der einzige Weg nach vorn ist. Hailing from Chicago his love affair with muzik started in the late 70’s early 80’s, listening to muzik on the radio combined with his mom and dad playing their records every weekend. In the early 80’s on the South side of Chicago, he started hearing something a bit different, what they called ‘house muzik’. A combination of Disco, Jazz, Soul Funk, New Wave and Italo Disco. Here Rahaan digs deep into his impressive record collection that he has collected, built up and crafted over his many years of travelling, networking and DJin to showcase 22 of his finest and rarest cuts. Many of the tracks on the album would cost hundreds and that’s if you were even able to find the originals! As always with ZR compilations a lot of time and effort has been spent on creating these masters from the original vinyl, cleaning them up, removing all the clicks and pops resulting in the cleanest sounding copy possible.

Elke release weerspiegelt Maestro’s respect voor muzikaal erfgoed en zijn talent om verhalen te vertellen via geluid, waarbij hij luisteraars meeneemt op een muzikale reis die zowel nostalgisch als vooruitstrevend is. In 2015 begon DJ Maestro aan een opmerkelijk project: Little Girl Blue Remixed, een eigentijdse herinterpretatie van Nina Simone's iconische debuutalbum uit 1958. Het album werd geprezen om zijn respectvolle, maar inventieve remixes. Dit project onderstreepte Maestro's vermogen om de brug te slaan tussen klassieke jazz en hedendaagse muziek, en verstevigt zijn status als visionair binnen de jazz fusion scene. Naast deze albums heeft DJ Maestro samengewerkt met een breed scala aan artiesten, bigbands en jazzmuzikanten. Hij heeft zijn repertoire ook uitgebreid naar filmmuziek, liveoptredens en remixes – allemaal met behoud van zijn kenmerkende stijl geworteld in jazz, soul en downtempo. DJ Maestro blijft een culturele brug slaan tussen tijdperken, waarbij hij de rijkdom van jazz viert en tegelijkertijd innovatie, dansmuziek en moderniteit in zijn mixen verwelkomt. Na zijn geprezen reeks genre-overstijgende compilaties keert Maestro nu terug met Deep Trip – een gloednieuwe mixcompilatie die zal verschijnen op Black Hole Recordings. Deze keer kiest hij voor een meer house-georiënteerde richting, met warmere grooves, diepere ritmes en een weelderige sfeer, maar altijd met Maestro’s onmiskenbare signatuur. Deep Trip verschijnt zowel als een mixed CD als in een triple vinyl set met alle tracks in ongemixte versie. Het is een reis door hedendaagse deep house-texturen, met soulvolle percussie en een hypnotische opbouw. De compilatie laat Maestro’s muzikale evolutie horen: trouw aan zijn jazzwortels, maar volledig omarmend wat de moderne house te bieden heeft.

SAGENBRINGER weaves fantasy and emotion, joy and sorrow into the 12 stories on ‘Zwischen den Welten’ (Between Worlds) through words and sound. All of this is packaged in a modern musical guise that has been forged from folk and metal elements into a hot iron. Stories are everywhere. They are countless and come from all corners of the worlds we know and don't know. But they always manage to stimulate the mind, touch the heart or send the soul on a journey. This is the calling of SAGENBRINGER: to spread these stories and not let them fall into oblivion. After establishing themselves in the German folk and pagan scene with their first two albums, ‘Sagenbringer’ and ‘Zeit der Geschichten’, and becoming a recurring name on festival posters across Germany, the young skald troupe are now releasing their third studio album on 30 January 2026. Zwischen den Welten (Between Worlds) transports listeners to the most diverse corners of mythology, legends and human emotions.

Zombie Club presents a re-edition (new sleeve art) of "Mambo Calypso" another volume of sonic Caribbean Cruise. Following the approach of the first volume and understanding the Caribbean as a region is not limited to a strictly geographical demarcation but rather a demographic and cultural space where countries, islands and coastal areas may fall into a common Mare Nostrum even arrives in New Orleans. The influence of African drum and the "Cuban clave" makes different music beyond its specific components be they Latinos, Anglos or Frenchie's - look at themselves and recognize a certain family. This is not a coincidence, since the slave trade brought African music from the port of Havana to Cartagena de Indias, Nassau, Port-au-Prince, Salvador de Bahía and the southern United States. The same Blackness, the same rhythm, the same festive mood, spirit of resistance and struggle. And so, Arsenio Rodriguez can be heard without jumps next to a Calypso of Blind Blake, or a tasty Pacho Galán's coastal Cumbia crossover with Dave Bartholomew's Mambo or a Latin Swing of Lalo Guerrero, where the Dominican Merengue sounds Joseíto Mateo in line with that of its Haitian neighbor Nemour Jean Baptiste. A very spicy musical "melting pot," a gumbo of percussion and languages, to enjoy and dance. Re-board the Zombie Club Cruise, mixing different genres of Caribbean music with a high dance and rhythmic component. This selection designed for collectors, Dj's & calypsofied zombie dancers.

In 2023 Ace Records released the album “28 Little Bangers From Richard Hawley’s Jukebox” where the acclaimed Sheffield musician, singer and songwriter compiled together some of his favourite records. These were instrumentals and vocals records that he had collected over the years and found musically addictive. The album received fantastic reviews and allowed his
extensive fanbase to discover and enjoy tracks like Ronny Kae’s ‘Swinging Drums’ and King Curtis’ ‘Hot-Rod’ that were on the juke box in his home.

Now, three years later, Richard has lifted the lid, taken those 7” out and replaced them with another favoured selection. One again, this second version of “Little Bangers” is full of cracking records such as Chet Atkins ‘Boo Boo Stick Beat’, Frank Minion’s ‘Watermelon’, Johnny Todd’s ‘Pink Cadillac’, Sunshine Theatre’s ‘Mountain’, Jet Harris’ ‘Man From Nowhere’, Tracy Rogers ‘Baby’ and the Ventures ‘Fuzzy And Wild’.

A with the first album there are 28 tracks spread across two albums or shoehorned onto one CD. The extensive liner notes see Richard discussing each and every track and what the record or artist meant to him. As he states himself in the introduction, “the record you hold in your hand is the result of a lifetime obsession.”
