* For our eleventh release we are excited to be working with five artists who are all new to the label.

* Rendered open proceedings on side A with a nod to COIL in their psychedelically propulsive workout Analstairface.
End Train follows, steering his machines with tactile precision between acerbic acid lines and cavernous synths, crashing through a brutal onslaught of splintered beats that finally open into space.

* Side B starts with the claustrophobic tension of WarinD's Still Left In There, featuring Huren's disembodied snarl, tearing at the relentless machine funk. This is followed by the insistent, martial urgency of Distant's Hydrargyra, scaling vast heights of immaculate sonic architecture to an emotional pinnacle that is finally resolved in the EBM drenched romanticism of Lapse of Reason's Go Away.

DJ Pierre - Jack City Vol 1
AAP016
ACID AFRO PLASTIK
12inch07.12.201807.DEC.18

HouseChicagoAcid

The godfather of acid house, DJ Pierre, is back - bringing four heavyweight Chicago cuts to the fore, two of which, 'Pinball Machine' & 'The Spirit' are unreleased, exclusives.

'Sexy Aquarian' showcases Pierre's unique style putting his trademark spin on this classic vocal, combining it with a bumping bass and dizzying acid lines, to trigger old memories whilst giving you something new for your mind, your body and your soul.

Next up 'Pinball Machine' goes in heavy on the percussion - filling those speakers with a barrage of weighty toms, crisp hats and crunched up snares. The frenzied synth line bounces around relentlessly, pinging off the sides of your brain like a sonic arcade.

Take to the flip for a lesson in how to take jackin' house to another level. 'Whats Mine is Mine' delves beyond the beat, mixing sassy vocals and spiritual organ stabs, with a touch of swing reminiscent of an era long gone.

Closing out the EP, 'The Spirit' utilises another treasured vocal layering it behind punchy drum programming, a rumbling bass and atmospheric touches that add an ethereal tinge to the track.

DJ Feedback:

The Black Madonna - We Still Believe / Liaison Artists - Excellent!

Eli Escobar - OH yes.

PBR Streetgang - 20/20 Vision - classic

Andy Caldwell - Nettraxx / Cr2 Records - Ooh so so sublime. Good shit here!

Tony Humphries - The Zanzibar / New York - Nice peak time banger.

Danny Howard - BBC Radio 1 / Nothing Else Matters - Aceeeee. Wicked vocal!!! Love the vibe

BeatsElectroExperimentalAbstract

One Instrument presents ""One Instrument Sessions", a new format on which each artist shows a more personal narrative of the sound experiments they compose.

Neel opens the series with a solo record including "Aria", a 20 minutes long piece made with the E340 Cloud Generator of Synthesis Technology, and "The Morning After", composed with the Roland SH-01A.

The E340 Cloud Generator is an oscillator which Neel says has always been a fan of. It has eight sines and sawtooth VCOs with unique modulation capabilities. "Aria" came to life while he was preparing for a live techno set: when he stopped the recording the oscillator kept running producing the sound and tones audible in the composition.

The Roland SH-101 is Neel's favourite synth. "The Morning After" is one of the 9 experiments he created while using the boutique version of the machine.

Heckadecimal - Murder Tape
GRCR016
Great Circles
12inch04.12.201804.DEC.18

TechnoAcidTechnoExperimental

2018 played host to a bumper crop of sounds from some of Philly's grittiest, including Great Circles mainstays M//R and Chaperone. To close out the year that was, we are pleased to present Heckadecimal's 'Murder Tape.'

A Minneapolis-based producer and acid auteur, Heckadecimal has been a fixture within the vibrant Midwestern electronic music community for nearly 20 years. Founder of the legendary 'Anti-human' events and co-curator of the ever-prolific Always Human Tapes imprint - alongside Ryan Wurst and Peter Lansky - Heckadecimal's reputation is one of unrelenting creativity and tireless advocacy for sonic experimentation. His work has found its way to light via a slew of pseudonyms and stage monikers, including The Worm, noface and Wonder Sirens.

In short - Heckadecimal lives and breathes the sonic matter that he leaves pouring out of studio monitors, busted bar systems and finely tuned rave stacks, wherever his travels take him.

Live performance lies at the core of Heckadecimal's practice. When he stormed through Inciting HQ in Philly earlier this summer, he took command over an arsenal of hardware that reminded us of how Octave One or Shawn Rudiman might show up. These were machines that he had lived with; touched with custom modifications, hand-drawn stickers and pockmarks incurred in battle, one got the sense that the gear was a personal extension of the artist.

Perhaps it's a bit maudlin, but we feel a certain kinship with this project. Indeed, these tracks at times feel very much of a piece with the gnarled tonalities in which our stable typically traffics; all low-slung riddims that reach at equal lengths towards mutated IDM aesthetics and post-Packard Plant techno extrusions. These are future perfect grooves that glide along under the vast Midwestern sky, providing a fertile communication conduit with the City of Brotherly Love.

Give thanks for acid. Great Circles will see you in the New Year..

Eastern Bloc Warsaw is a new Polish record label founded by Piotr Klejment, based in Warsaw, Poland - the first country in Europe where the transition from the communist system to democracy took place. It is a definition of desire for freedom combined with respect and a sense of belonging to places. The main goal of label is to promote music and artists from former Eastern Bloc.

Piotr Klejment started music journey as a DJ in 2005. His DJ sets mixed together very disparate styles. Years ago, along with friends, he founded a group called Underground Perception. They invited a lot of prominent artists (for example Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Joey Beltram, Marcel Dettmann) and gave them a chance to play for the first time in Poland in the legendary M25 Club. He stayed there as an artistic manager and resident for three years. His two first releases appeared on Technosoul Records (also a collective of DJ's & producers from Poland, which member he also was). The releases came out with remixes by Perc, Sleeparchive and Polish techno legend - Echoplex.

Specimens - In The Dust Of Idols

SVS RECORDS
12inch03.12.201803.DEC.18

BeatsAmbient

In The Dust Of Idols is an album exploring mortality, existentialism & the dread one can feel in the face of an apparently meaningless world. The journey you embark on when trying to create meaning where there is perhaps none. These initial senses of dread can be brought about by the insignificance you feel in the face of greatness, where others have seemingly found meaning and purpose in the face of your own wavering path. Other then these can be expressed in grandness and can become historically significant human feats, the fact that they have stood the test of time can become in itself overwhelming when reflecting on your own journey. Whilst these moments in time may hold no specific meaning to you - despite their impressive nature - you are driven into senseless awe. In the Dust of Idols ties in this sense of wonderment coupled with the overarching dread you feel as you contemplate your own existence, where you fit into the significance of society and as Ruth Tallman quotes ' the search for answers in an answerless world'. 'I wanted to create something dense & heavy. When you listen through, it makes you feel like it has the weight of time stitched into it' explains Ives. As well as expanding the range of instrumentation used on this, his second album, Ives also enlisted the talents of Cellist Charlote de Burgh-Holder and experimentalist Joe Summers on the tracks 'The Unread Library' and 'Twisted Necks' which further adds to the dynamic depth and range on this record Clarity was not my main objective, like an old piece of furniture covered in dust, you can tell what it is but the details are obscured,

TechnoTechnoDeep

Deep'a & Biri curate a bevy of much-respected underground techno specialists to further unravel and reimagine the vital and sophisticated sounds of 'Dominance', their full-length LP released earlier in 2018.

Midnight Operator, the collaborative project of Mathew and Nathan Johnson, begin the set with their trippy and transcendent take on 'False Memories'. A rare remix from the pair, their return has been worth the wait; an expertly executed techno excursion, it simultaneously burrows deeper into the psychedelic textures of the original, while providing a club-centred kick.

Further blending the experimental and the physical, Peter Van Hoesen provides a typically complex and compelling take on Voltage, deconstructing the original and expanding each element in myriad, rave-specific directions.

Deep'a & Biri enlist rising Dutch DJ-producer Deniro contributes a rolling, hypnotic version of Dominance's spectral centrepiece, 'Alpha Cephei', while Z.I.P.P.O. charges down a tense, big-room industrial tunnel for his interpretation of 'Seeking Solace', hitting on a cathartic groove after a passage of uncompromising noise.

Concluding the EP, Steinlac'h Records founder Wice reimagines 'Theories of Loneliness' in dubby but propulsive fashion.

Amidst the glazed rinses and metallic sheen runs a line of deep melody, beautifully fragile strings cutting through the trembling resonance of air and speed. The finale comes in the form of "LOx." The whole Ep, is quite far from the style they are used to propose in their singolar projects; it's rather an infusion of their nearest influences, that you can listen especially in their eclectic dj set: from electro, to acid house, ambient and reverberating stuff from their Soul.

A1, 'Sublunar' is a Dystopic, with Drexciyan reminisces Electro track; A2 'Green Line' is an emotional and 707 dreamy stuff, the perfect bridge which prepare to the A3, 'Alienata': an intense and expertly executed ambient trip.

The entire B side is a Fabulous, Acidic and party-guaranteed package, ready for the heated dancefloors.

After a long time in the works, Mothball Record is proud to present a lost album from legendary Italian wave band: Ruins.

Hailing from Venice, Ruins are one of the pioneering artists of the Italian new wave scene beginning in the late seventies: an explosion of new and exciting art, music and film.

The tracks on 'New Record' were taken from the self-distributed, tape only release from 1983 'Side Roads'.
This album was timed directly before their most well-known releases in contemporary times, the 'Fire / Crime' 12' and the eponymous 4 track EP on Black Square.

Taken from the original master tapes and selected by Ruins themselves, the album should be listened as a whole to gain the full experience, but immediate 'must-hear' tracks are 'I Don't Know', 'I Love You' and 'Last Night DJ Killed My Wife' featuring early use of Roland TB303.

At times unsettling, beautiful, violent, harmonious, these songs will finally get the audience and exposure they deserve 35 years later.

Bear Bones, Lay Low links up with Pizza Noise Mafia's Carrageenan and comes with a monster of a miniLP. BIG TIP!
.
Matthieu Levet (Carrageenan / Pizza Noise Mafia) and Ernesto González (Bear Bones, Lay Low / Tav Exotic / Maitres Fous ...) are two musicians based in Brussels who have cut their teeth in the city's freeform underground for well over a decade. Having spent time at numerous shows and parties together, they solidified a friendship after a two week tour around Europe with fellow electronic explorer , Accou, in April 2017.

It was shortly after this moment that the label Random Numbers approached the two with the initial intention of releasing a split cassette with music from their respective solo projects. Several exchanges later, the plan quickly changed into realizing a full-fledged collaboration between both musicians who, while having deep respect and interest for each other's music since they first met, had never found the opportunity to create something together.

The result is the CARCASS IDENTITY EP: a combination of Levet's raw and dub-infused electronics with González's kosmische psychedelic touch. This is music meant for strange parties: the kind where dancing and laying down are equally accepted and ncouraged, where there might be more silence than talking between participants, where small gestures and events reveal their transcendental meaning...

Planet Battagon are innovators in Droid Jazz. Electronics, jazz and outer-national sounds ain't no new thing. But following in the extra terrestrial sounds and cosmic mythology of Sun Ra, Planet Battagon are not reaching for the cosmos but simply made of it. Droid consciousness is the starting point but what's consciousness got to do with it. The droid's need culture, music and art and of the highest and most experimental of that lies Droid Jazz.

Originating on Lord Battagon's home planet the group are documenting the folklore and jazz stylings of the Trans-neptunia neighbourhood out on the edgelands of the solar system. This debut release follows on from a Lord Battagon outing on the Atlantic Jaxx label. 'Who's out on Quaoar' is taken from the Ltd Ed 12' 'Battagon Symphony', part one of 'The Rough Guide to Trans-Neptunia'. The release also features 'Salacians of Neptunia', a homage to the early droid cultural pioneers and the chant like 'Moon of Dysnomia' that is played ceremonially to temper the erratic saline tides of the aforementioned moon especially during its retrograde period.
