Teksti-TV 666 will release their fourth mini-album as a limited-edition vinyl pressing in August Finland’s hottest indie rock band, Teksti-TV 666, released their new EP 4 digitally on All That Plazz in April. Svart Records, who have previously released the band’s albums and EPs on vinyl, is continuing this tradition with the new mini-album as well. Some people change your life in every way that a life can be changed. David Lynch is one of those people. When Alicia Witt first worked with him at age 7 in his classic Dune (1984) she had no idea what he meant to anyone as a filmmaker, nor that she would work with him 3 more times over the course of his life and that he would become one of her greatest influences. She only knew that she had found a kindred spirit and that she loved him. Between Heaven & Earth is a tribute to his energy, his legacy, and most of all, his love. When Alicia attended his memorial gathering shortly after his passing in 2025, she was struck by the depth of the relationships in that space. The knowing that if you were loved by David, you stayed loved. As those in the room spoke of their shared experience that David was still among them - directing from beyond - Alicia became ever more aware that she was being encouraged to create an album from this space of eternal unconditional love. ‘Use my name,’ David whispered. And so it was. Produced by renowned producer and singer-songwriter Joe Henry (Emmylou Harris; Milk Carton Kids; Bonnie Raitt; Rodney Crowell), this album was recorded live in studio in 5 days in New York City in January 2026. Alicia Witt on piano and vocals, accompanied by a band of 5 musicians, take you on a sonic journey that could never be recreated, channeling the energy that was brought together in this moment to honor the immeasurable effect that David Lynch had and still has on the world. The initial image behind this album was “phantoms”- things that seem to exist, yet somehow don’t. Another thing that sets this album apart from our previous releases is that four of the five tracks feature vocals. The only instrumental is “Invocation and Ritual Dance of the Electric Nonsense.” We didn’t consciously plan it that way; it just happened naturally. After finishing last year’s tour, we didn’t have much time, but everyone’s ideas came together, and I think we’ve created an album we’re truly satisfied with.
Mandrake Oracle: The opening track of the album.Built around a single guitar riff by changchang, while the other instruments and electronics keep pushing the music forward. Personally, I imagined Deep Purple playing a Pink Floyd song while writing this one.
Minagoroshi Western: Imagined as the soundtrack to a fictional spaghetti western. In the end … everybody dies.
Daydream Rendezvous: A piece of daydream acid psychedelic folk.
Invocation and Ritual Dance of the Electric Nonsense: Hard psychedelic jazz rock. The title is a little nod to Frank Zappa.
Ai Vist Lo Lop (Cover): I’ve always loved Ai Vist Lo Lop by the wonderful Occitan traditional band Mont-Jòia, and I’d wanted to cover it someday. We especially enjoyed creating the a cappella section and finding the right sound for the main melody.

»Dark Hours« war 2009 eine freudige Überraschung, da viele Bands mit zunehmendem Alter es häufig ruhiger angehen lassen. Nicht so die Schweden: Mit düsteren Untertönen wird eine Energie entfacht, die zeigt, dass die Band ihren eigenen Weg aus modernem Power Metal mit melodischen Zwischenspielen weiter ausbaut.

Bereits beim ersten Hören erkennt man, was diese erfahrenen Musiker zu bieten haben, besonders wenn man die klassischen Heavy-Metal-Merkmale mag: düster, melodisch, eingängig und böse.

Die Transparent Blue Vinyl-Edition der auf Act Music erschienenen "Endless" LP von Adam Bałdych European Quartet ist erschienen.

Das Album dokumentiert ein kammermusikalisch geprägtes Quartett, das Adam Bałdych mit drei ausgewiesenen Persönlichkeiten der europäischen Improvisationsszene versammelt: Daniele di Bonaventura am Bandoneon, Jacob Karlzon am Klavier und Michel Benita am Kontrabass. Diese Besetzung öffnet einen weiten Klangraum, in dem Streichergesten auf die dunkleren, erzählerischen Farben des Bandoneons und das harmonische Feingefühl des Klaviers treffen. Konzertankündigungen und Pressetexte nennen die beteiligten Musiker und stellen die gemeinsame Arbeit als zentrales Element des Projekts heraus.

Musikalisch führt "Endless" die Ausdrucksformen zusammen, die Baldych über Jahre geprägt haben: die Verschmelzung von jazzimprovisatorischer Freiheit mit Elementen der europäischen klassischen Tradition und Anklängen an Renaissance-Polyphonie. Typisch für Baldych ist die Kombination aus virtuoser Artikulation und lyrischem Tonfluss, wodurch der Violinklang zur treibenden Stimme einer kammermusikalischen Erzählung wird.

The Fall war eine englische Post-Punk-Band, die 1976 in Manchester gegründet wurde. Die Band existierte seither in wechselnden Besetzungen fort und war im Wesentlichen um ihren Gründer und einziges konstantes Mitglied, den verstorbenen Mark E. Smith, aufgebaut. Obwohl die Gruppe anfangs der Punk-Bewegung der späten 1970er Jahre zugeordnet wurde, durchlief ihre Musik im Laufe der Jahre etliche stilistische Wandlungen; sie zeichnet sich jedoch häufig durch einen rauen, gitarrenlastigen Sound sowie den wiederholten Einsatz von Repetitionen aus und wird stets von Smiths unverwechselbarem Gesang und oft kryptischen Texten getragen.

Die Band ist bekannt für ihre enorme Produktivität: Sie veröffentlichte über 25 Studioalben – eine Zahl, die sich mehr als verdreifacht, wenn man Live-Alben und sonstige Veröffentlichungen hinzurechnet. Über eine Handvoll kleinerer Hit-Singles in den späten 1980er Jahren hinaus blieb ihnen ein breiter kommerzieller Erfolg zwar verwehrt, doch konnten sie sich eine treue Fangemeinde mit Kultstatus bewahren. Die Band pflegte über lange Zeit eine enge Verbindung zu dem BBC-DJ John Peel, der sie bereits früh in ihrer Karriere nachdrücklich unterstützte und The Fall als seine Lieblingsband bezeichnete – mit der berühmten Begründung: „Sie sind immer anders; sie sind immer gleich.“

Remastered und mit zahlreichen Bonustracks versehen: Cherry Red wiederveröffentlicht das vierte Album von Dinosaur Jr., das ursprünglich 1991 auf Sire Records erschien, als Deluxe-Doppel-CD mit Singles-A- und B-Seiten sowie einem Konzertmitschnitt von 1991.

Die britischen Alternativ- und Progressive-Rocker von The Pineapple Thief melden sich 2016 mit einem neuen Album zurück. »Your Wilderness« heißt der Nachfolger von »Magnolia« aus dem Jahr 2014.

Mit gerade einmal acht Songs handelt es sich dabei auf den ersten Blick fast schon um ein Minialbum. Bei näherem Hinsehen bzw. Hinhören stellt man aber fest, dass alle Songs zwischen 3:46 und 9:52 Minuten liegen, was eine Durchschnittslänge von rund 5 Minuten pro Song macht. Hier kommt also niemand zu kurz.

Im Gegensatz zu früheren Alben haben sich The Pineapple Thief für »Your Wilderness« zum ersten Mal einen ganzen Haufen illustrer Gäste eingeladen.

Zunächst einmal ist Schlagzeuger Gavin Harrison mit von der Partie, der dem einen oder anderen bereits durch seine Mitgliedschaft bei der Band Porcupine Tree bekannt sein dürfte. Für einige Klarinettenparts stand zudem niemand Geringeres als John Helliwell von Supertramp zur Verfügung. Geoffrey Richardson von den legendären Caravan steuerte unterdessen das Streichquartett bei, das auf dem Album zu hören ist. An der Gitarre unterstützte Darran Charles von Godsticks. Zu guter Letzt sorgte ein vierköpfiger Chor für die Backgroundgesänge.

Produziert wurde »Your Wilderness« komplett in Eigenregie der Band, mit Ausnahme der Drumparts, die Harrison in seinem eigenen Studio einspielte.

Mit »No Man’s Land« haben The Pineapple Thief auch bereits die erste Single des neuen Albums vorgestellt. Und die lässt erahnen, dass die Band sich trotz neuem Personal musikalisch treu bleibt – zur Freude vieler Fans.

Vierte Auflage - das aktuelle Solo-Album vom dänischen Psych-Rock-Zauberers Uffe Lorenzen aka Lorenzo Woodrose aka... Seit zehn Jahren interpretiert Uffe Lorenzen (bekannt von u.a Baby Woodrose und Spids Nogenhat) auf allen seinen Alben ein altes dänisches Lied. Das gilt für seine drei Soloalben und die beiden Alben seiner aktuellen Rockband Lydsyn. Auf seinem neuen Soloalbum Glemte Spor ("Vergessene Spuren") hat er ein komplettes Album mit 10 Interpretationen von Liedern aus den Jahren 1967 bis 1999 aufgenommen. Einige davon sind dänische Klassiker, andere sind eher unbekannte Lieder, die er sich zu eigen gemacht hat. Viele davon können als Protestsongs betrachtet werden oder haben einen anti-war Charakter. ,Ich habe festgestellt, dass ich die Herausforderung, Songs anderer Leute zu interpretieren und sie zu meinen eigenen zu machen, wirklich mag. Sie zu verändern, zu interpretieren und vielleicht sogar zu verbessern. Viele der Songs werden den meisten Menschen unbekannt sein, während andere dänische Klassiker sind. Was sie gemeinsam haben, ist, dass sie mich irgendwie zu dem gemacht haben, der ich bin", sagt Uffe Lorenzen. Das Album wurde zusammen mit Morten Hart Grabowski in einem kleinen Studio in Kopenhagen aufgenommen. In mehr als 20 Sessions haben sie zusammen eine Liste von 50 Songs auf die zehn reduziert, die schließlich auf dem Album gelandet sind. Laut Lorenzen fanden die Aufnahmen in einer sehr entspannten Atmosphäre statt: ,Wir haben etwas Gras geraucht und Rotwein getrunken, was den Prozess sehr entspannt gemacht hat, und ich glaube, das hört man dem Endergebnis auch an." Später übernahm Flemming Rasmussen den Mix und das Mastering in seinem berühmten Sweet Silence Studio. Die erste Auflage war auf 1000 Exemplare in schwarzem Vinyl limitiert und ist ausverkauft, die zweite und dritte Auflage kamen streng limitiert für den Indie-Handel auf rotem und grünem Vinyl (500 Stück weltweit), die vierte Pressung ist bei Bad Afro traditionell Purple (weltweit ebenfalls 500 Stück).

Secret South zeigt die Band auf ihrem dunkelsten, weitläufigsten Terrain: eine fiebrige Mischung aus Gothic Americana, Folk, Country-Anklängen und okkult schimmernder Schwermut. Als sie ihre Plattensammlungen wiederentdeckten, die lange Zeit auf vergessenen Dachböden verstaut oder hinter Regalen mit alten Zeitschriftenausgaben in zahlreichen heruntergekommenen Secondhand-Läden in Alabama versteckt waren, verliebten sich die Mitglieder von ,Man or Astro-Man?" in die verkratzten Klänge von Link Wray, The Ventures, Dick Dale, The Shadows und Duane Eddy - also in Instrumental-Gitarren- und Surf-Musik der späten Fünfziger und frühen Sechziger. Gleichzeitig hatten bizarre Bühnenbilder und Auftritte von Kraftwerk, Sun Ra, Devo, Frank Zappa, The Sputniks und natürlich den Residents großen Einfluss auf die sich rasch entwickelnde Truppe. Dennoch war es das erzwungene Leben in einer hoffnungslos konservativen Kleinstadtumgebung, das Man or Astro-Man? dazu brachte, das Offensichtliche hinter sich zu lassen und sich viel stärker von dem beeinflussen zu lassen, was sie hassten, als von dem, was ihnen eigentlich gefiel. Im Grunde könnte man sagen, dass Man or Astro-Man? weitaus stärker von College-Football und muskelbepackten Verbindungs-Spinnern beeinflusst waren als von Science-Fiction. Die Band trieb es, besonders bei Live-Auftritten, auf die Spitze, so lächerlich wie möglich zu sein, und verspottete dabei ernsthafte ,alternative" Acts und mit ihnen die Musikindustrie selbst. ,Experiment Zero" (1996) war ihr Debütalbum bei Touch and Go. Es wurde in drei Tagen im eigenen Studio von Man or Astro-Man?, dem ,Zero Return" in Alabama, zusammen mit Steve Albini aufgenommen und gilt als eines der großartigen modernen, vom Surf-Stil beeinflussten Gitarren-Instrumentalalben. Da Man or Astro-Man? ,Experiment Zero" als ihr Meisterwerk der langen Entwicklung der Surf-Musik etablieren wollten, begannen sie, sich schneller als je zuvor weiterzuentwickeln. Sie veränderten ihren Sound weiter und erweiterten den Einsatz von Samples, Computerprogrammierung, Keyboards, elektronischen Spielereien sowie experimentellem analogem Schneiden und Einfügen von Tonband. Obwohl das Album von der Kritik weithin gelobt wurde, mussten sich langjährige Fans erst einmal daran gewöhnen. Wo die meisten Bands müde geworden wären oder einfach immer wieder dasselbe Album im Kreis gedreht hätten, erfanden sich Man or Astro-man? und ihre Live-Auftritte immer wieder neu.

The compositions recorded here are a product of work with computers in synthetic speech, song and vocal sounds and were created between 1972 and 1975. The music was realized on two different computer music systems and takes advantage of, and attempts to extend and explore their features. The system employed to realize speech songs was created at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for research in synthetic speech and speech communication. Since the system was not designed for musical purposes, its limitations were severe and its musical use a great (and often rewarding) challenge. The system used for In Celebration and The Story of Our Lives was designed with the expressed purpose of creating synthetic musical voices, and was therefore much better suited to the task at hand. As with any high technology project, there was extensive collaboration in the production of the works.

The works on this disk are called computer music because the sounds were created numerically in a computer before reaching magnetic tape and loudspeakers. The computer did not compose the music. However, it was only used as a sound synthesis and analysis medium. In order to hear the sounds which are represented in the computer as successions of numbers it was necessary to attach a digital-to-analogue converter to the computer. The converter transformed the succession of numbers into a fluctuating voltage which was recorded directly on to audio tape.

The technique used to create the synthetic voices is called speech synthesis-by-analysis. For this method of speech synthesis, only those words, phrases and sentences which have been spoken into the computer previously (via an analogue-to-digital converter) may be synthesized. First the digitally-recorded speech is analyzed by programs which extract the attributes (parameters) of the speech for short time segments (.01 sec.). From these parameters the speech may be recreated in a form which resembles the original recording very closely. But for musical purposes the parameters are most often altered before synthesis. It is possible, for example, to change the natural pitch contour of the speech into a melodic line or to change the speech speed without altering the natural pitch level.

The variety of musical patterns which may be created from the analytic parameters is limited only by the composer's imagination. Most of the speech sounds on the recording were created by changing the pitch and duration attributes of the original on resynthesis, but for a few, the resonances (the formants) of the speech were altered as well. The voice of the book in The Story of Our Lives was created by replacing the program which simulates the sound of the human vocal cords with one consisting of 64 sine tones glissandoing at different rates. All the textures in which more than one voice is heard were obtained by mixing the synthetic voices together digitally.

This album is a masterpiece in which the three core pillars of Akira Ishikawa’s musical vision—jazz, rock, and African music—are fused in a sublime and thrilling balance. One arresting track follows another: the solemn and majestic “Prayer”, evoking the eternal land; the clear yet subtly psychedelic “Dawn”; the serene and beautiful “Love”; and the highly dynamic, explosive “Jumbo”.
The brilliance of Hirmasa Suzuki’s arrangements deserves special mention—simple yet profoundly deep, they give vivid clarity to the album’s overall concept and imagery. Among Ishikawa’s serious, non–instrumental-cover works, this album stands shoulder to shoulder with Electrum, Bakishinba, and Uganda, and should be regarded as one of his definitive achievements.

With the addition of all-time genre classic opuses Turn Loose the Swans, and The Angel and the Dark River also representing My Dying Bride’s much-loved early to 90’s period, the band’s three cult EPs are also featured in this deluxe eight-vinyl boxset, with each record presented on 180gm heavyweight black vinyl. The four studio albums themselves have also been treated to new half-speed masters courtesy of Air Studios.

Accompanying the audio is a 48-page book featuring photographs and artwork, plus new interviews with Andrew Craighan and Aaron Stainthorpe exploring some of the influences and thought-processes behind the creation of such cherished works of the 90s, as well as reflections of their output over this period.

What is Buck? Buck is a state of mind, a way of life, a demeanor that gets you through the good times and the bad. If you ask Brainstory, It is also the energy that permeates their debut album. Kevin, Tony, and Eric are a trio of brothers bounded by blood, fate, and a small town with nothing to do. Their story begins in the long lost lands of the San Bernardino Valley, in the twilight zone known as Rialto, California: An arid wasteland of boredom and empty lots. Through punk rock and skateboarding they found temporary liberation from the local monotony. However, it wouldn't be long before a hunger for more led them to explore musical realms beyond that of the hardcore punk they admired. After stints at music school and steady disappointment trying to navigate their local jazz scene they moved to Los Angeles and Brainstory was born. "Breathe" showcases another side of their sound taking a page out of the Shuggie Otis playbook and flipping the script with some stoned out west coast swag. Bassist extraordinaire, Tony, takes over lead vocal duties on "Sorry", a smoked out, G Funk groove that is just waiting to be sampled. These guys have come a long way from their self released EPs and opening tours with Chicano Batman. Their musical growth is undeniable, and taking their California sunshine vibes and mixing them with Michels' NYC aesthetic has proven to be an amazing combination. Anjunadeep Explorations delivers a third vinyl sampler, marking the label’s 100th release and two years since its launch. Anjunadeep, the imprint’s parent label, has become “one of dance music’s ultimate tastemaker labels” (Billboard), best known for breaking global artists like Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, Tinlicker and Dusky. The ‘Explorations’ imprint is an evolution of the much-loved Various Artist EP series of the same name, which spanned 25 editions between 2016-2023 on Anjunadeep. Responsible for bringing through now-mainstay acts to the label such as Ben Böhmer, CRi, Luttrell, Rezident and Simon Doty, the series also featured underground talents like Theo Kottis, Sam Goku and Gacha Bakradze. breakthrough album Horizons to deliver a major statement from one of UK Jazz's rising stars. Produced by Matthew Halsall and mixed by Greg Freeman (Hania Rani, Matthew Halsall, Portico Quartet), Rising delivers a confident and vibrant follow up that joins the musical dots between Myra’s influences Kenny Wheeler, Bonobo and Shabaka Hutchings while delivering something unique, beautiful and profound.

Rising is also the sound of a composer and performer growing in stature and adding extra layers of confidence and poise to both her playing and composing. Aided and abetted by Matthew Halsall who once again lends his production skills, Rising is fuller, richer and deeper as Myra develops her uniquely uplifting sound.



Much like my first album, Rising is a reflection of a period of my life. It is a continuation from Horizons, which was all about my experience during lockdown, and entailed overcoming my struggles with mental health. Following on from that experience, I set out to continue building my self-confidence. This album has an uplifting and spiritual sound, drawing influence from artists such as Makaya McCraven, Bonobo and Shabaka Hutchings.



Rising features the same core of musicians as Myra’s debut album Horizons (Gondwana records GOND052): guitarist Ben Haskins, drummer George Hall pianist Jasper Green, harpist Alice Roberts (who both also perform with Matthew Halsall) and bassist Sam Quintana who collectively bring a deft understating of the subtle textures of Myra’s music and perform with a collective empathy and drive that really pushes the music on a radiant journey. And a string quartet add gently elevating textures to Still Waters, Knowingness, From Embers and How Tall The Mountains.
