Nina Simone was one of the most extraordinary artists of the twentieth century, an icon of American music. She earned the moniker
‘High Priestess of Soul’ for she could weave a spell so seductive and hypnotic that the listener lost track of time and
space as they became absorbed in the moment. She was who the world would come to know as Nina Simone. Herewith an
EP Selection from Nina with “I Love To Love You”, “Jazz As Played In An Exclusive Side Street Club” and “My Baby Just Cares For Me,”
previously recorded by Nate King Cole, Count Basie, and Woody Herman. The song was used by Chanel in a perfume commercial in
Europe in the 1980’s and it became a massive hit for Nina, a British chart topper at #5, and thus a staple of her repertoire for the rest of her career.

Me Saco Un Ojo Records proudly presents the third album from UK death metal savages Cryptworm.
Distasteful gurgles erupt amidst those familiarly grotesque grooves and bubonic bouncing riffs. Cryptworm have been a prolific entity with their prior EPs, albums and more seeping into the crypts of the underground at an impressive rate. Now sinking their teeth into you with “Infectious Pathological Waste”, you can hear how their sound has refined to an unstoppable force of blunt force trauma. As the bludgeoning commences you will be pulled in by the disgusting performances of all three members as the convulsing spew of guitars and regurgitating vocals flow like molten rot atop a crushing drum performance. Powerful drum fills and autopsy-invoking riffs are something this band has seemingly mastered creating, because there is no shortage of this magnificent mutilating music flowing forth from the speakers to maim you.
Sometimes a death metal band simply just grasps what sound they are going for and runs the distance with it. Cryptworm are one such band who have always felt very naturally able to concoct the foul distillations of death they bestow upon us. Ranging from those stomping hooks to more thrashy viciousness, this is a wickedly paced record that will have you gorging on its putrescent fruits time and time again. Whether blasting forth total fury or ripping chunks off you with flesh-coated hooks, these barbarians do not falter in their delivery of violence and sadism. Eight tracks, sitting at 35 minutes is all you need to become infested. By the end your carcass will be rolling with maggots, twitching just enough to hit play again…

Me Saco Un Ojo proudly presents the debut offering from Canadian’s doomed death metal entity Funelore.
Bellowing eldritch atmospherics explode from crawling guitars and drums with monstrous vocals and ghostly synths to accompany them.
The funereal and sombre ambience is deathly, morbid and hypnotising – enveloping all with darkness from the onset.
The gritty production conveys the devastating mood of the release gloriously with the crushing weight of every instrument allowed to sit on your chest as you inhale smoky anguish into weakened lungs.
This is a profoundly unusual and unique sounding record that fans of death and doom metal alike will adore, but it is no mere run-of-the-mill death-doom, this cinematic duo of songs is a destructive and ethereal force of darkness like none you have heard before. In under 20 minutes your soul will have suffocated and been stripped bare as your consciousness dissolves in tides of agony…

The Portcullis draws on dungeon-synth textures, medieval ambience, and the imaginative pull of folklore. Taking the listener on a focused journey through shifting eras, symbols, and atmospheres. It plays like a lost fantasy soundtrack, inviting the listener into an adventure that feels both ancient and newly invented.
Released on Fire Records, ‘The Portcullis’ sees composer Graham Reynolds on an ancestral journey back to Launceston Castle.
"For The Portcullis, I took a deep dive into the history of my family’s patrilineal side. Starting with my grandfather, an ironworker who built the Hartford Cathedral, to my great great great Grandmother, who was a galley cook on a Welsh sailing ship, to the enlightenment era celebrity portrait painter, Joshua Reynolds, and finally to twelfth century know Richard Reynell (before the Reynolds spelling was standardized). Reynell was the Sheriff of Devon and the custodian of Lauceston Castle. While King Richard I was away on the crusades, Reynell made his name defending the castle from the usurper Prince John. I started making sketches of the scenes and stories I imagined. The Portcullis follows Reynell from castle to castle, sequentially as they were built after the Norman invasion. On Reynell’s chest and shield is the symbol and crest of the Reynolds family: The Portcullis."
Graham Reynolds creates an “ominous, stark environment that rumbles with sounds evocative of the natural world, in both its beauty and despair” New York Times.
Known for his wide-ranging versatility, from film and television scores to classical ballet, Graham has scored over seventy films and TV episodes to date. His ongoing collaboration with Richard Linklater the most notable.

Transformation, growth, and rebirth drive Ascent Effort, the latest release from Portland, Oregon trio Rhododendron. The title points upward, but not toward arrival. The record documents a period of change defined as much by instability as progress, where confusion and renewal unfold at the same pace.
Formed in 2019 while the band’s members were still in high school, Rhododendron’s Ezra Chong (guitar, vocals), Gage Walker (bass), and Noah Mortola (drums) set out to push their musical limits without regard for genre boundaries or audience expectation. For Ascent Effort, the band joined the roster of The Flenser, aligning with a label that has long championed artists who work in tension rather than comfort.
In the past seven years the trio has developed a sound rooted in technical precision and repetition. Drawing from the angular experimentation of underground rock in the 1980s and 1990s alongside elements of jazz, ambient, and progressive music, their compositions are deliberate with intensity. Riffs fracture and reform, rhythms lock into patterns only to break apart, and extended passages build pressure before shifting direction.
Performing regularly in Portland, the band has cultivated an intense and loyal local following. The live setting hardened the material. Songs grew heavier, sharper, more physical through repetition and high volume.
The material that became Ascent Effort was tested on tour before entering the studio. Written largely in sequence, the album traces a period of personal change and internal friction. Growth is not always clean; sometimes it grinds forward. Nothing resolves without cost. Confusion and strain do not sit outside the songs, they shape their architecture. That is what the band has accomplished with Ascent Effort, a work that is not always clean but well-shaped by struggle and growth. The Pacific Northwest lingers in the background of the record, its long winters and brief summers echoing the album’s shifts between abrasion and restraint. Ascent Effort does not offer catharsis in the traditional sense. It allows tension to remain. In that unresolved space, transformation takes form and a band in motion is revealed.

Me Saco Un Ojo proudly presents the second full length album from Germany’s Teratoma.
Otherworldly atmospherics soon turn to visceral death metal as we begin our all-consuming descent into the bowels of the beast. Murky guitars churn around punchy bass lines and snappy drums. The old school death metal method, tried and tested, is delivered with crushing precision and monstrously snarled vocals to complete the mix. Building a strong rhythmic current to unleash a tidal wave of grooving, mid-tempo death metal offal; this is going to grip you with the rusted chains of pure viciousness. The crawling pace of the riffs ensures they are memorable, catchy even, for your ears to be wormed by chaotic bewilderment and perpetual anguish. The band warns you of the displeasures they inflict, so if you’re still here: that’s entirely your own doing. Still with us? Good, because this juggernaut of decay lumbers forward into more devastating territories, building wonderfully on the already strong debut album.
Slithering for over 45 minutes, this is a behemoth of death metal that will either destroy you or have you fully enveloped in its meaty mass for the duration. Plentiful clever grooves switch things up between the charnel atmospherics, so even the dullest mind will have its attention held. As each asphyxiating song creeps forth to swallow you, the void-like atmosphere continues swirling into itself and spitting out only the rotten remains of that which has crossed its path. From the whiplashing assaults to the slower moments of eerie decay, each moment has its own gruelling intensity to offer. There is no denying the sheer brute force in terms of the heaviness delivered here. Equally impressive is the totally harrowing ambience they conjure with these songs. Do not miss out on this ruthless slab of death, enter the festering realm of spewing atrocities…

Originally released in 1975 on Montilla Records, Fire & Sugar is a rare Afro-Latin jazz-funk gem by Cuban multi-instrumentalist Jesús "La Grulla" Caunedo. A respected yet often uncredited figure who worked alongside artists such as Tito Puente, Machito, Celia Cruz and Chico O'Farrill, Caunedo delivered here his most forward-thinking statement.
Recorded in Puerto Rico, the album blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, heavy Latin percussion, tight brass arrangements, fuzz guitar and jazz-fusion elements moving from explosive dancefloor cuts to deeper, atmospheric moments.
Long prized by DJs and collectors across Latin, funk and rare groove circles, this official reissue restores the full warmth and punch of the original recordings.
An essential 1975 Latin jazz-funk title, back in print.

With Grammy award-winning sound engineer Katie May (MPG Sound Engineer of the Year, 2025) once again at the faders, Blank Arcades sees the same team (David Perry on guitars & church organ, Cameron Saint on double bass and Louis Spanton on percussion) reunite in atmospheric Yatesbury Church, close to the Avebury stone circle, to perform sixteen new songs on a single summer's day. A year on from its predecessor, Collodion ("hushed, haunted and shiver- inducing" wrote Alexis Petridis in The Guardian) Blank Arcades draws on themes of impeded progress and the 'entrances to nowhere' implied by the album title, a nod to Andrew's interest in ancient churches. Campbell Owens, Douglas MacIntyre and Mick Slaven worked on the album alongside founding members Robert 'Bobby Bluebell' Hodgens, David McCluskey and Ken McCluskey to create the new collection of tracks. The result is a stunning body of work; rich, melodic, thoughtful and infectious. First single No Pasaran! premiered on BBC Radio Scotland and in The Herald in September 2025. The Bluebells rose to fame in the 1980s as jangle-pop pioneers of the Sound of Young Scotland era with their three hits Young at Heart, Cath and I'm Falling.
Despite only releasing one readily-available album during their initial run (Sisters, 1984) the band have remained as one of Scotland's most beloved bands, currently boasting over 144,000 monthly Spotify listeners. The band enjoyed a post-breakup revival in 1993 after a Volkswagen advert featured Young at Heart, pushing the single to No.1 for 4 weeks. They have since reunited over the years, to play various festival slots and develop new material. In 2023, the band released The Bluebells In The 21st Century, their first LP in decades. In 2025, The Bluebells played Glastonbury.

Critically-acclaimed North Carolina rapper MAVI's new mixtape The Pilot reveals his duality as both an interior philosopher and exterior showman, as he steps out, takes flight and proves that endurance is the truest art form Consistently hailed for his poetic lyricism and virtuosic technical abilities as a rapper, The Pilot was written amidst sobriety and signals a looser, lighter body of work that embraces spontaneity, creative freedom and collaboration. With appearances from Earl Sweatshirt, Kenny Mason, Smino and MIKE, The Pilot finds MAVI expanding his once- insular process into one defined by community and creative exchange. Conceptually, it's less a continuation of 2025's successes than a reframing of them, a project that looks forward rather than back.

Get ready for a musical history lesson of the wildest kind! Vancouver's garage-punk specialists THE BAD BEATS are back with a bang On their new album "Shiver and Shake - 14 Canadian Cold Cuts," released via SOUNDFLAT RECORDS, the band pays homage to the musical heritage of their Canadian homeland--with 14 hard-hitting cover versions. After proving they have the 60s "fuzz" spirit in their DNA with albums like "His Vengeful Hand" and "Off the Hook," they've now dug deep into Canadian music history. Instead of the usual hits, THE BAD BEATS present a selection of "Cold Cuts"-- raw, unpolished gems from cult bands that shaped the sound of the North.
So beschreibt Kerry King Hell Awaits.
Show No Mercy war das Mission Statement, aber He
