Originally released in 1989 with the tagline “Bringing house music into the living room,” Fade Out is a landmark Japanese pop/club crossover produced by Haruo Chikada. At the dawn of Japan’s club culture, the track became a staple around Tokyo’s legendary Shibaura GOLD scene, widely embraced as a “danceable kayōkyoku (Japanese pop)” classic.

Today, among European diggers, Japanese techno kayō is undergoing a strong revival and growing reappraisal. Positioned at the heart of this movement, Fade Out now sees its long-awaited official release, featuring previously unreleased remixes with Soichi Terada, Haruo Chikada & OMB.

This Mirror Weighs a Ton, Interpol’s first album in four years and debut for Partisan Records, finds the band turning inward while continuing to move forward. Across the record, reflection, distortion and perception become a lens through which familiar shapes are refracted into something slightly alien, as if seen through a different kind of light.

Produced with Grammy- and Oscar-winning Andrew Wyatt (ROSALÍA, Charli xcx) and mixed by Dave Fridmann, the album introduces vibrant new textures into Interpol’s world. Synthesizers, strings, acoustic guitars and percussion are integrated into the fabric of the songs, expanding the palette while revealing colors already latent within it. Nothing feels imposed. Instead, the additions deepen the band’s language of restraint, atmosphere and tension. At its center remains the creative relationship between Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino, a partnership now approaching three decades and defined by intuitive alignment and momentum that continues to generate new possibilities. The result is an album that feels expansive, uncanny and alive with forward motion, not a reinvention but an evolution that allows Interpol to continue transforming without losing their identity.

Als wir zuletzt von Marci (alias Marta Cikojevic von der Soft-Rock-Band TOPS aus Montreal) hörten, tanzte sie auf ihrem 2022 erschienenen Album ,Marci" den Schmerz weg. Vier Jahre später kehrt Cikojevic mit ,Mask Lady and Late Night Girl" zurück - einem Album voller Hymnen für Partygirls für die Zeit, wenn die Party vorbei ist, vorgetragen mit Liebe und Mitgefühl für die guten Zeiten und die schönen Erinnerungen. Erneut in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem TOPS-Bandkollegen David Carriere entstanden, enthält ,Mask Lady" Elemente, die sowohl von den chaotischen Pop-Girls der Y2K-Ära wie Uffie und Kesha als auch von Cikojevics Liebe zu Powerballaden-Sängern der 80er wie White Snake und Def Leppard inspiriert sind, zusammen mit den Vintage-Synthesizern, die ,Marci" eine warm-futuristische Ästhetik verliehen. Graham Hunt kann einfach nicht aufhören, Alben aufzunehmen. Seit 2019 hat der in Madison, Wisconsin, lebende Songwriter ein umfangreiches Repertoire an einzigartiger Musik zusammengetragen - in einem Tempo, das nur von der Qualität der Werke selbst übertroffen wird. Nun, bereits bei seinem sechsten Album ,American Pyramid", hat Hunt sich aus seiner Komfortzone herausgewagt, die bodenständigen, computerorientierten Experimente seiner früheren Arbeiten hinter sich gelassen und stattdessen Minnesotas legendäres Pachyderm Studio mit einer neunköpfigen Band, um zu versuchen, eine andere Seite seiner grenzenlosen Kreativität einzufangen. After delivering a killer track on our Diffraction EP compilation and a series of highlighted projects on Hiver Discs, Iro Aka returns to Polychrome Audio with club-ready 4-tracker Dimensions. We are really proud to release the music of friends who create such quality electronic music. On the A side, Dimensions and Direction 0 original mixes bring a driving and bleepy techno sound shaped by the duo’s characteristic psychedelic design. The B side is a strictly remix affair: Human Space Machine turns Dimensions into deeper techno territory while French duo Atomic Moog presents a slow-burning downtempo take on Direction 0 for early or late into the night. Reframed is Vitess’ third album, released on his own label Retro Futura, and marks a new turning point in his artistic journey. Unlike his previous albums — the first fully exploring the Retro aesthetic, the second embodying the Futura — Reframed brings these two worlds together within a single, coherent yet eclectic body of work. The album opens with sounds inspired by 90s progressive music and gradually moves toward more futuristic textures. This album format gives Vitess complete freedom: the freedom to build a full, living musical experience, introducing for the first time a strong instrumental dimension — most notably through the use of live drums — and allowing each track to interact with others, transform, or mirror one another, while maintaining a clear narrative thread that guides the listener throughout.

The title Reframed directly reflects this approach. The album is built around tracks conceived as Recto / Verso, offering a form of double listening experience. On the one hand, electronic, club-oriented and progressive versions, designed for energy and dancefloor movement; on the other hand, more introspective, pop and instrumental counterparts, created for listening and storytelling. Starting from the same musical foundation — a vocal sample, a percussion element, or a melody — Vitess develops two distinct interpretations of the same track, generating contrasting yet deeply connected sonic worlds. This method, central to his creative process, highlights his ability to explore a single detail in depth and let a micro-element lead him toward radically different sonic dimensions, while ensuring coherence and a strong identity across the album.
