In 2026, Eva De Roovere will celebrate the 20th anniversary of “De Jager.” She’s hitting the road to perform her hit album in its entirety. Featuring classics like “Fantastig Toch” (35 million streams!), “Laat Me Je Lied Z?n,” and “De Jager,” this concert series starting this fall will be a grand celebration of familiarity and renewal, centered on a love for music and the audience.

After all, what could be better than celebrating an album’s 20th anniversary with… a new album? “Sluit De Nacht” (produced by Koen Gisen) is a contemporary blend of life songs and love songs: an ode to poetry, melody, and rhythm. A search for connection and comfort in these turbulent times. Original material as well as powerful songs written by or in collaboration with Gert Bettens, Rick De Leeuw, Dirk Blanchart, Sabine Tiels, Wouter Berlaen, Lennaert Maes, Vincent Pierins… performed by Eva herself and Ward Dhoore: guitars; Eva Hautekiet: acoustic and electric piano; Philippe Thuriot: accordion & bandoneon; Lara Rosseel: double bass; and Kobe Proesmans: percussion & drums.

On June 29, 2023, Jeremiah Chiu entered the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Los Angeles with no plan beyond exploring its remarkable collection of rare and classic synthesizers, improvising alongside founder Lance Hill. Recorded entirely analog over just two days and completed in the two days that followed, In Electric Time captures Chiu"s spontaneous approach to electronic music, blending cinematic sketches and intuitive synth explorations with contributions from engineer Ben Lumsdaine and Cooper Crain (Bitchin Bajas). Hier kam ihr samplerbasierter, auf Found Sounds setzender retro-futuristischer Stil voll zur Geltung, mit Hooks, die aus verstaubten Schallplatten, Fernsehen, Radio und Straßenlärm stammten. Eine Generation später bleibt "Low Kick" ein überschwängliches Werk des retro-futuristischen Pop - vielschichtige Breaks, die sich mit bluesigen Riffs, Girl-Group-Grooves und surrealistischer Selbstsicherheit abwechseln. Kaiso Power is a collection of rare jazz, calypso and percussive gems from Trinidad and Tobago from the revolutionary generation of the 1970s, bringing radical new political vision and reclaiming ancient spiritual consciousness through music. At the dawn of the 70s a shift was taking place all around the world. The streets of Port of Spain thronged with Black Power marches, trade union demonstrations and Carnival protest bands - one epicentre in a growing global exchange of ideologies and strategies among Pan Africanist circles in Jamaica, Guyana, London, New York, Montreal, Lagos, Accra and beyond. And when the meetings were over, the revolution moved to the cramped secret dance halls, the Carnival fetes, the steelband yards. The music always had a sharp edge. Searing commentary has always been part of the various types of music in Trinidad, and in the absence of lyrics, the defiant use of the drum maintains the resistance, as well as the re-framing of the playing of European instruments to the needs of the message. Lancelot Layne, Delano Abdul Malik De Coteau, Andre Tanker, Clive Zanda, Mansa Musa were more than artists, they were teachers, community workers and advocates for justice. These recordings are as raw as an all-night Carnival jam, the horns loud, the percussion ringing out, the bass dripping with joy and rebellion. Under the modern influences is a solid rhythm, an unbroken connection to Africa, the songs and keys and cadences brought across the middle passage. These songs are a peep into the untapped treasures of a revolutionary generation, looking at the world with fresh eyes and believing that music was a central part of the mission to build consciousness and regain confidence.

Amyl and The Sniffers kündigen mit Truth Or Consequence ein Live-Album an, das alles andere als ein klassisches Konzertdokument ist. Im April vergangenen Jahres nahm die Band gemeinsam mit Freunden im legendären El Coyote Mexican Restaurant in Los Angeles eine einzigartige Performance auf und interpretierte ihre Songs erstmals in reduzierten, country-inspirierten Versionen. Das Album vereint neu arrangierte Fan-Favoriten mit zwei bislang unveröffentlichten Songs sowie einer Coverversion von Slim Dustys Klassiker "Lights On The Hill". Die Aufnahmen zeigen Amyl and The Sniffers von einer ungewohnt intimen, lockeren und verspielten Seite und fangen die besondere Atmosphäre einer spontanen Session unter Freunden ein. Zur Veröffentlichung erscheint auch ein begleitender Konzertfilm mit exklusiven Einblicken hinter die Kulissen. At its heart, Trio is a work about collaboration, playfulness and unification. It is music as a means of coming together, a sonic equivalent to the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, in which broken ceramics are repaired with a visible golden lacquer. Rather than hiding the breaks, Kintsugi embraces them, making them part of the story, a form of delicate transformation. Popp and his collaborators Flurin Mück and Sebastian Wolfgruber take a similar approach: three distinct drummers, three different temperaments, three personal styles. Fused together into a single expressive instrument.
The album is a celebration of timbre, texture, and touch, its sound palette drawn from across continents and traditions. Human beings at all points of time, across all cultures and continents have used music to celebrate, mourn, worship and bond. Along with our voices, creating rhythm with our bodies. Amyl and The Sniffers kündigen mit Truth Or Consequence ein Live-Album an, das alles andere als ein klassisches Konzertdokument ist. Im April vergangenen Jahres nahm die Band gemeinsam mit Freunden im legendären El Coyote Mexican Restaurant in Los Angeles eine einzigartige Performance auf und interpretierte ihre Songs erstmals in reduzierten, country-inspirierten Versionen. Oliver Baroni, stand-up bassist and Hillbilly Moon Explosion co-vocalist has a new side-project with a flexible group of musicians, under the moniker The Baroni Blow-Up. In keeping with the Englishman"s worldwide rock"n"roll viewpoint from his base in Switzerland, it"s an international affair. The band-members are American, though two were found in London. Guitarist Andy Kandil, a session favourite and veteran of psychobilly legends Mad Sin amongst others, and drummer Tuck Nelson, who also co-engineered recordings in his London Echo Ray Studio. On vocals is Shy But Flyy, the celebrated blues and jazz singer from Long Beach, CA. The A-side song "I Wanna" is an obscure punk song original by Berlin band Hot Boogie Chillun; the flip "Free" is a Shy But Flyy original. The single"s artwork originated in Spain.

"Mighty Vertebrate" is the International Anthem debut from Anna Butterss (2024). The Adelaide-born bassist/composer has been a first call for LA tour and studio work since relocating there in 2014 - racking up credits with notables across the experimental, jazz, and pop worlds alike - but their most notable contributions to the burgeoning LA scene have been as a member of both Jeff Parker"s ETA IVtet and rising proto-trance supergroup SML, who Pitchfork says "represents the thrilling next phase of a vibrant L.A. community."

One year earlier, 50 years ago this December, THE HEARTBREAKERS arrived in London to join the Sex Pistols on the "Anarchy" tour. They spent most of 1977 there, recording "L.A.M.F." and cementing their status as elder statesmen of the punk movement. This last date of their 1977 European tour was to be their very last as a band - until the reunions. Drummer Jerry Nolan had already jumped ship; his substitute is The Clash"s Terry Chimes. The gig was filmed for a movie that was never to be - this is the soundtrack recording.

Addictive and super-catchy classic Studio One instrumental cut led by the great saxophonist Lester Sterling, a founding member of The Skatalites. Sterling recorded extensively for Clement Dodd and this single was released in 1969 with The Paragon"s killer rocksteady "My Satisfaction" on the flip. The song "Afrikaan Beat" was originally recorded by the German orchestra leader Bert Kaempfert and was based on South African Kwela style of music. "Afrikaan Beat" featured on Soul Jazz Records" Studio One Scorcher.

Northern Earth is Dean McPhee's sixth full-length album and the second release on his own label, Bass Ritual. Expanding on the low-end focus of 2024's Astral Gold and last year's The Bradford Boar on the Folklore Tapes label, Northern Earth integrates overdriven guitar, a wooden snare drum pedal and a powerful 18-inch subwoofer, pushing his sound further beyond the sparse fingerpicked solo guitar of his earlier releases. Drawing on influences from psychedelic rock, British folk, dub and underground electronic music, the album's three expansive compositions - including the side-long title track - were honed through live performance and recorded live with no overdubs at McPhee's home in Bradford. His solo setup - stacked valve amps, subwoofer, guitar, percussion pedals and expansive pedalboard - now functions as a single self-contained instrument, layering hypnotic basslines, ritualistic loops and fluid melodies with physical weight and a deep sense of space.
