Originally released in 2013, the long-awaited second album from Lulu Rouge finally returns to vinyl in its first-ever limited repress — revived after years of growing demand.

The Song Is In The Drum captures the duo at their most fearless and immersive. Known for their deep melancholia and anti-traditional pop structures, Lulu Rouge blur the lines between dark dub, cinematic electronica, and left-field songwriting. For singer and songwriter Hilde Louise Asbjornsen, this album was an urge as natural as breathing. Recorded for a 2020 live gig, she dives headlong into handpicked songs from her decades- spanning career. Gathering "all the threads of inspiration through my years as a songwriter and jazz singer", this is the way they were always meant to be heard.

'A Swing of its Own' took Hilde Louise back to the beginning, to a time when she was falling in love with jazz and spinning her mother's old jazz records on a turntable. And yet, nostalgia is notably absent here. Rather, the album brings back to life the sheer energy and irresistible pull of this music which first swept the USA and then the rest of the world. Hilde Louise's career has been a long and winding journey, but now, she feels, she has "finally come home". Introducing ‘Duality’, the new double album from Andrew Bayer. Two musical threads weave through the collected works of Andrew Bayer. One thread gave us the downtempo masterclass of 2013’s ‘If It Were You We’d Never Leave’ and the brilliant 'In My Last Life' LP. The other thread produced arena-sized anthems like 2014’s ‘Once Lydian’, his epic 'Super Human' with Asbjørn and the club remix project 'In My Next Life'. From the introspective to the explosive, these records are our community’s shared soundtrack: we’ve all got a favourite Andrew Bayer record. But they have come in so many forms and styles. It leaves us asking the question, who exactly is Andrew Bayer? It’s a question he’s asked himself. “Since day one, I have always struggled with how to present myself. I love making these experimental home listening albums of electronica and indie sounds, but I also love DJing and making trance bangers. On my last album I had to remix the album in full after it was released to make the worlds fit. This time around I wanted to capture all the breadth, depth and tension within that duality under one single project” - Andrew Bayer ‘Duality’ brings these two creative threads together under one album for the first time since his debut album 'It's Artificial'. Two leading Norwegian jazz artists have put together an excellent album
with just a microphone and a grand piano
On 'Movies & Stories Like This' they present nine self- composed songs about
intangible love. Hilde Louise's voice is elegantly accompanied by Anders Arums,
they cover everything from bolero and tango to French waltz and jazz ballads.
Piaf, Brell and Weill are evident sources of inspiration. Hilde Louise's lyrics span
both the minor and the major kinds of love, from everyday relationships, the ones
about which no films are made, but nevertheless carry with great drama, to the
big love stories.
Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen has released 11 albums since 2004 and continues to be
an important part of the Norwegian jazz scene. Her previous album 'Red Lips,
Knuckles and Bones' was released on Ozella Music to great reviews. She has
been described as "three parts Monroe and one part Holiday", and has nurtured
an extensive career as a cabaret- artist and a musical actress. Her latest solo
performance and book by the name of 'Stardust' is a tribute to 8 female legends
from last century. The show is a great success in Norway, and is to visit
Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023.
