UK house mainstay Hodge releases his long-awaited second album, eight tracks of high-calibre house and club music with a focus firmly on the dance floor.

Anyone who has had the sheer pleasure of seeing and hearing Leroy Burgess perform in concert will know just how amazing the live renditions of his iconic compositions of Disco Boogie hits and classics sound with a full band and a fully fueled audience. Accompanied by the ten piece French band and long time Leroy Burgess collaborative outfit Saving Coco, BBE Music is releasing live versions of two of those classics Let’s Do It and Big Time. Recorded and released by Rick James in 1980 Big Time is an absolute killer of a track that sounds so fresh decades later in this crowd energising performance. Famously released by Convertion Let’s Do It was a huge club hit in the early 1980s and is the perfect track to accompany Big Time on this release. Leroy Burgess is a certifiably genuine legend of Black music; his compositions have moved dancefloors across the world since the early 1970s as a member of Black Ivory, then Convertion, Paradise Garage favourites LOGG, Kleer and electro outfit Aleem. His collaborations with Patrick Adams, Inner Life, Dazzle and solo artists such as Eddie Kendricks, Rick James and Fonda Rae have cemented Leroy Burgess’ place in the annals of Black Music History. As a founder-member of the Universal Robot Band he co-wrote the massive perennial favourite Barely Breaking Even. Leroy Burgess feat. Pulsinger & Irl is the collaboration between Austrian producer and techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger and Bavarian producer and sound engineer Sam Irl.

After ten years of dub-driven live explorations, Pulsinger & Irl are now focusing on a raw, uptempo, and sample-driven take on techno.
Their new album and live set is stripped to the essentials — two classic samplers, the SP-1200 and MPC2000XL, and a 16-track mixer. By pushing these machines beyond their intended boundaries, they craft a gritty and textural sound.
This is first of two 4-track EPs that will make up the entire album („AALLIIAASS“).


The duo met in 2012 at Pulsinger's Feedback Studio in Vienna, where Sam began as his assistant engineer before becoming a studio partner.
Coming from different musical backgrounds, they found common ground in experimental techno, dub, sampling culture, and analogue gear.

Since their debut album Mud (2016), they've released the EPs Function Creep/Woodpecker (2017), Exu (2018) and Retrieval (2019), along with several remixes — most recently a rework of iO's 1994 classic Claire (2024). Their music has received support from Move D, Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Lefto, among others.

They've performed at Berghain/Panorama Bar (2016–2018), Sonar Barcelona, ://about blank, Golden Pudel, Blitz, Sziget, Elevate Graz, Lighthouse Croatia, Rote Sonne, Ars Electronica Linz, Zukunft, and more.

Over the past three decades, Patrick Pulsinger has released music on his own label Cheap Records as well as R&S, M Plant, Disko B, Compost, and has produced for DJ Hell, Hercules & Love Affair, Elektro Guzzi, Fennesz and others.
Sam Irl has released music since 2007 on labels such as Freerange, Jazz & Milk, Brownswood, Pulver and Frank Music.

The Lemonheads release a strictly limited edition 12” single on 21st September featuring three classic tracks on white vinyl. Lead cut is ‘Roky’, Evan Dando’s homage to the late, great outsider genius Roky Erickson (of garage psyche legends 13th Floor Elevator and much solo strangeness).

The Bevis Frond toured with The Lemonheads in support of the latter’s much-praised ‘Love Chant’ album of 2025 from where ‘Roky’ originally comes. And, to complete this unique package, the Frond cover two Lemonheads’ songs, ‘The Great Big No’ and ‘My Drug Buddy’; both sounding like the kind of UK-based left field power pop that inspired Kurt Cobain in the formative days of grunge – indeed, they could have snook out on the original Rough Trade or 53rd & 3rd labels at any time.


Fact fans looking for Roky-styled curveball ley line between events, might note that The Lemonheads covered The Bevis Frond’s ‘Old Man Blank’ on 2019’s ‘Varshons II’, the same year that Roky sadly passed.

While charming, it was riddled with constraints. But, as has been proven time and time again, great art often comes from difficult circumstances, and this new 7 song EP is further proof. The first track, “The Watchers,” opens with an earworm horn melody that immediately pulls you in. The crunchy drums and G Funk bass tones put a bop on it, lush orchestration weaves in and out and sets a mellow vibe. “Blend,” one of only two vocal tracks on the EP, is a California sunshine soaked love song walking the lines of psych rock ballad and B side soul. ”Twin Kitchen” leans you right back into your seat, with Eric Hagstrom’s in-the-pocket drumming carrying the tune.

Best known as the DJ for multi-platinum band Sugar Ray, American DJ, musician, rapper, singer, record producer and radio personality Craig Anthony Bullock aka DJ Homicide_ has been active for more than three decades. Yaka slips into the APPX catalogue a hi-def 8 part narrative. Coated in silky sonic camouflage the Philadelphian sound designer, producer, and apparent amphibophile, conjures an aquatic instrument-rack straight out the estuary, and re-engineers it into a kind of amphibient-bass eco-system: part poolside bio-luminescence, part Severn-side subsidence. The opening track “chrysalis of peace” builds like a choral summoning, beckoning you outward. “blubstep” shakes itself off and stretches into scattered breaks, sprinkles of underworld energy flickering beneath the surface. On “la pari,” the daemons find their stride in a huge leap into bass, punctuated by vocal satire, kitschy melodic fun, and an Amazonian sweat capable of humidifying any dancefloor. “miss that beach” slows the A-side into a thoughtful drift on a lilo, the distant sounds of cousins playing while wind lifts leaves overhead.

Flipping the disc, “buggged” arrives as a beat you can imagine bounding out of a Timbaland studio, tiptoeing in and out of 4/4 club jack. “back at the pad” breaks stride with a halftime depth that keeps you poised, like the surface tension of a water droplet in zero gravity. “weavin’ web” threads ascending melodic patterns over raised nodules of rhythm. A sound designer and musician based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their work blends emotive aquatic ambience, thick bass layering, and playful rhythmic structures, with an essence that sits somewhere between spiritual and satirical. Their earlier releases Somewhere In That Water introduced a practice rooted in the melancholic and bitter-sweet cuteness dipped in a deep affinity for wet environments.
Beyond their solo work, Yaka co-operates Inner Most, a label run between Philadelphia and Reykjavík alongside Echinacea. The imprint has become a home for boundary-blurring electronic music and features a number of Appendix.files favourites, including a release by our own secret getii, reinforcing a shared ethos of porous scenes and cross-continental collaboration.

Moving through house, techno and electro house, the record gradually increases in energy while connecting cosmic creation to G. Felix’s own artistic rebirth. The physical edition contains the first 12 tracks of the chapter, but the story does not end with the vinyl. The sequence continues digitally through track 16.0, including a hidden composition positioned between 12.0 and 13.0. Inside the vinyl insert, listeners will find a QR code that opens access to exclusive material, visual content, behind-the-scenes information, the continuation of the narrative and Chapter II — The Dark Matter. The two sides of 1973's Big Business / Wind of Change are mainly the work of thegreat Keith Mansfeld but there's a killer cameo each from Alan Hawkshaw and David Snell to help deliver a thematic suite, diverse in mood, applicable to dramatic and environmental situations'. A Be With favourite and truly one for the heads.
The Big Business of side A is all the work of Keith Mansfeld. It's heavy on the suspense and features the vital Hot Property', an insistent groove so good that Madlib sampled it to lace the ace Long Awaited' by Lootpack with Dilated Peoples.
Sleeping Giant 1' is a more feshed out version of the equally-dazzling Fatal Error', evoking the orchestral magic of David Axelrod. Indeed, it conjures images of Diamond D falling over himself in the early-to-mid 90s to loop its intoxicatingly
eerie soundscape. Complete with guitar flls that recall Paris, Texas-era Ry Cooder, you need this record for this piece alone.
The horn-and-fute-led "Tycoon" is a head-nodder and "Power Complex" has some fantastic percussion. Other highlights include the breezy glide of Whistle Stop Tour' and its sister groove Clean Air.'
Over on Side B is the more expansive Wind Of Change, which includes the David Snell and the Alan Hawkshaw contributions. But these ain't no fller. Snell's shufing International Flight' sounds like a smooth Dorothy Ashby track tossed from the heavens. Hawkshaw's Road And Rail' is about as luxurious and strung-
out as the great man gets and it might just be the highlight of this whole set.
Not to be outdone, if Mansfeld's Balance Of Power' doesn't make you feel like king of the world then you must be playing it wrong. Oh, and did we mention World In Action'!
As with all ten re-issues, the audio for Big Business / Wind of Change comes from the original analogue tapes and has been remastered for vinyl by Be With regularSimon Francis. We've taken the same care with the sleeves, handing the reproduction duties over to Richard Robinson, the current custodian of KPM's
brand identity.

On the AA side new kid on the block from Barcelona Osner hit big with his outing ‘It’s Good’ with a nod to the 70’s with a modern twist for peak-time dancefloors whilst Italy’s fast rising underground hero Gledd continues the theme with the blues & soul injected thumper ‘Move Me’.

A dynamic DJ and producer, the Galway-born, Berlin-based artist is driven by mood not genre, gleefully scribbling outside the lines to craft rhythmic, high-vibration dancefloor cuts that make them a delicious match for the Chunkers. Just reference their pin-sharp releases on Radiant, Punctuality, Planet Euphorique and their own World of Worlds imprint. While anyone who’s caught their throwdowns at Draaimolen’s legendary forest stage, Horst Festival or London’s infamous queer party Club Are already knows what’s up.

Their contribution to the BSC catalogue is bang on. Lead cut ‘Track Like’ is a straight-up Chunker. Beginning life as an instrumental, it’s a pumping house cut marked by a grooving bassline, tight drums and a contained ravey energy, before Eoin DJ added that vocal that took the production into peak-time party territory.

A producer who requires no introduction – Jennifer Loveless join the Chunkers fold with a full-bodied remix of ‘Track Like’. Lock in for a funky maximal re-rub with the attitude turned up to 11. Back in Eoin DJ’s corner, the crisp ‘n’ punchy ‘Pure U’ is driven by fat kick drums, euphoric chords and a chunky rolling bassline. Exquisite stuff. A tight Dub version is included in the pack. The EP rounds out with the perky ‘Feel Deeper’, which channels ‘90s New York house and circuit sounds and is built around a hooky vocal line and rhythmic drums.

Eoin DJ follows BELLA, Eliza Rose, Papa Nugs, Paperkraft and remixes Peach and CARISTA in joining the Big Saldo’s Chunkers family as Sally C delights in growing the label via a carefully curated roster of artists.

This relatively new Stockholm duo have been making waves with their latest vinyl output. This EP conveys their love for the disco house sounds of Chicago, spearheaded by the likes of DJ Sneak. ‘Spoon Bait’ leads the way using an almost dreamlike vocal hook over a deep bass led groove with dub effects to boot. ‘Tuborg Translate’ picks up the tempo, chopping up a Philly style hook, underpinned by crisp beats and otherworldly space effects. Title track ‘Silja Line Superstar’ keeps the peak-time action going utilising warm emotive strings and brass whilst ‘Kenneth Knaster’ bounces along on a sublime disco ride bringing the EP to a close.

This first new volume of edits from Big Baba finds Elado digging with intent rather than on a purely nostalgic tip. Fresh off his Razor-N-Tape run, he opens the series by rewiring rare global grooves for contemporary club floors. The EP moves fast and wide as Bollywood disco mutates into techno on 'Disko Disko!', while Yeah Yeah flips obscure 80s Thai boogie-funk into something elastic and punchy. Diversion Ends EP highlights the classic sound of chicago acid house, whilst yet emerging into a much deeper and experimental lane of electronica. Big Love return with EP 7 in the A Touch Of Love vinyl series. Shawn Christopher‘s 90’s house classic ‘Don’t Lose The Magic’ gets a sublimely soulful update from Chicago’s Emmaculate. On the flip side we have 2 French House veterans with Art Of Tones serving up the Chic inspired disco beauty ‘Hoping For Another Chance’ followed by Yass feat the vocal powerhouse Michelle Weeks on the disco driven gospel stormer ‘Hallelujah’.

Flying Lotus, der Produzent – auch bekannt als Steve Ellison – veröffentlicht Anfang März seine neue ‘BIG MAMA’ EP auf Brainfeeder: dem Plattenlabel aus Los Angeles, das er vor fast zwei Jahrzehnten gegründet hat und das seitdem Alben von renommierten Künstlern wie Thundercat, Hiatus Kaiyote, Kamasi Washington und vielen anderen veröffentlicht hat.
BIG MAMA fängt Ellison in einem Moment spontaner, ungezügelter Dynamik ein. Die EP ist dicht gepackt mit unterschiedlichen Sounds, Rhythmen und Effekten und liefert, wie er es selbst beschreibt, „experimentelle, maximalistische, hyperschnelle, elektronische Energie“, wobei sieben dynamische Tracks zu einer einzigen durchgehenden Komposition zusammengefasst sind, in der jeder Takt einzigartig ist und es keine Loops gibt.

Die EP, die innerhalb von zwei Monaten fertiggestellt wurde, zeigt Ellison mit einem deutlich anderen Ansatz bei seiner Produktion. Anstatt sich hinzusetzen und an einzelnen Tracks zu arbeiten, stattete er sein Studio mit einer Vielzahl neuer Tricks und Spielzeuge aus, nutzte Software-Synthesizer, um FM-, Wavetable- und Granularsynthese zu erforschen, sowie Second-Hand Drum Machines und verbrachte den ersten Monat damit, ein Skizzenbuch mit einzelnen Sounds für die nächste Phase des Prozesses zu erstellen. Von dort aus begann er, die akribischen Details der BIG MAMA-Welt aufzubauen, wobei er täglich nur 10 bis 15 Sekunden Musik fertigstellte, bevor er die Fragmente zu ihrer endgültigen Form zusammenfügte: ein mehr als dreizehnminütiger Strom des Bewusstseins, der weder durch Tempo noch Stil eingeschränkt ist.

Big Big Train, die preisgekrönte Progressive-Rock-Band, veröffentlicht ihr 16. Studioalbum. "Woodcut" ist ein Meilenstein für die internationale Gruppe, deren Mitglieder aus England, Schottland, Italien, den USA, Schweden und Norwegen stammen, da es ihr erstes Konzeptalbum in voller Länge ist. "Die Geschichte spielt nicht in einem bestimmten Zeitrahmen, sondern handelt von einem Künstler, der mit dem Leben zu kämpfen hat", beginnt Gründungsmitglied Gregory Spawton. "Er macht einen Spaziergang, findet dieses Stück Kernholz und schafft etwas, das er als schön und anders empfindet. Vielleicht ist es ein Traum oder vielleicht ist es das echte Leben, aber er findet sich in dieser Narnia-artigen Holzschnittwelt wieder."
"Woodcut" ist ein eher bandorientiertes Werk, zu dem alle sieben Mitglieder einen beeindruckenden Beitrag leisten, wobei Frontmann Alberto Bravin die Federführung als Produzent übernommen hat: "Dieses Mal ist es eine Art neues Statement für die Band. 'Woodcut' ist für uns ein großer Schritt nach vorne", kommentiert er. Mit 16 Titeln und einer Spielzeit von 66 Minuten wirkt "Woodcut" episch, ohne sich zu sehr in die Länge zu ziehen.
Das Album ziert ein auffälliges Cover-Design des in Dorset ansässigen Künstlers Robin Mackenzie - natürlich ein schwarz-weißer Holzschnitt, der von einem Holzschnitt abgeleitet ist, den die Band speziell für das Album bei ihm in Auftrag gegeben hat.
