Born 2 Be Free celebrates the naughtier end of the house and garage spectrum with a first volume in this new Low End Guerrillas series. Mista Men's 'Corner' has muggy blasts of bass that cocoon you in warmth as lively garage drums and nimble synth motifs keep things fresh. Mella Dee brings his usual sonic filth to the rugged analogue grind of 'A Way Of Life'. No Brainers then layer up a bubbly mix of top and hits over driving bass notes on 'Not Again', then Lvpica's 'Funky:Mission' keeps it deep and moody with a shadowy bassline and slick drums for cool cats. Live From The Moon shuts down with the more eerie and suspenseful 'Parrot In The Studio.' Characterful tools from font to back.

EFUNK Volume V is the fifth installation of the annual VA compilation featuring music from a curated collection of artists set to perform at Soul Clap’s House Of EFUNK touring party series. This release date on wax and digital is right in time for the official Movement Festival afterparty @ TV Lounge in Detroit that spans 2 days with 3 areas of sound. This year’s compilation features music from Soul Clap alongside long time friend and Baltimore favorite Baronhawk Poitier who present “Set The Scene”, a futuristic earthshaking groove with Baronhawk’s spoken vocals backed by Charles Levine’s vocoder and a Moog topline played by Baronhawk that won’t quit. Hercules & Love Affair makes a debut on the label with “Stay Ready” a chugging tracky / acid infused banger which should absolutely induce a dancefloor sweat. Kai Alce shares a discofied sample-licious crowd pleaser called “Boogie” with the help of additional keys by Byron Blaylock better known as Byron The Aquarius. Detroit’s new school starchild JMT joins with the hard hitting peaktime soul powered “Black Magic Touch” and last but certainly not least, Lauren Flax adds an edge of danger while calling for “Revolution” featuring vocals from Liz Wight. These tracks are sounding warm and round thanks to the mastering expertise of Caserta and have been dancefloor approved by Soul Clap!

This release is part of the La Bush Reunion concept, created by DJ George’s, which keeps the club’s energy alive by blending La Bush’s iconic classics with contemporary productions designed for today’s dancefloors.

For this chapter, four tracks by the concept’s residents (DJ George’s, Laurent Top, Cedric Piret (CP), Michael Forzza) are brought together. Four complementary visions, shaped by club culture, turntable experience, and a relentless pursuit of groove and intensity.

For the first release of Les Enfants Black Series, we have the pleasure of welcoming Villaça, a Brazilian native now based in Barcelona.

For this release, he brings us a selection of deep cuts created for his live act between 2023 and 2024, featured in the tracks “A1. You Don’t Know”, “B1. Energy!” and “B2. A Moment of Reflection”, alongside the more uplifting “A2. Ready” that was made specifically the day after his first time in the club, with final touches and musical direction tips from Francesco Carvetta.

Expect an emotional and powerful journey from an artist who is constantly evolving, and keep an eye on the upcoming material on the Les Enfants Black Series, this is just the beginning.

For its third installment, NEUMA presents As Above, So Below—a collaborative
release by Matteo Manfellotti and Jorge Gamarra. On the A-side, Waveratio’s
Distorted Analytics and Heart of Darkness set the tone with a fusion of techno,
electro, and trance-infused energy. The B-side features both producers working
together under their new project, Former Being, delivering tracks that maintain
the same intensity while shifting toward a more EBM-influenced sound, marked
by evolving structures and a mysterious atmospheres.

Embarking on our musical journey with Wiremu, originally from New Zealand and now based in Leeds, we set sail with his EP, "The Subtle Hustle." Beyond a personal passion, Wiremu's dedication to music production serves as a tribute to his Maori heritage, infusing his compositions with profound cultural depth. "The Subtle Hustle," the opening track, forges a dynamic tone with deep bass, punchy percussion, and house-infused Rhodes chords. Minimal references and synthetic rips seamlessly fuse, creating a captivating dance track. "Beat-Up Town," the second track on the A side, is a dance floor blockbuster with bouncy bass, accompanied by an 808 kick drum. Keyboard work integrates chords into a dynamic groove, making it stand out among dance tracks. "Key Notes Frequency Quotes," opening the B side, introduces lead hi-hats contributing to a great dynamic. Vocal inserts layer over ripped synthesizer parts, creating a house vibe filled with energy and style. Closing the record, 'Have You Written On The Wall?' takes us on a journey through running percussion and minimalistic elements, skilfully compressing space and stretching time, accompanied by atmospheric backing.

Following up 2007s well received X-dub was the Phalaenopsis 12inch that came out later that year. A track selection that came from the same hyped mysterious MySpace track folder, but now transmitted through Frustrated Funks subsidiary, the now defunct Frantic Flowers imprint that was emerging through the early Clone channels. Signing there, without the staffs knowledge of the producers identity, further muddied the waters. Exploring a more housy dub-techno vibe and diving deeper into experimental dub territory. And with it deploying an even bigger smokescreen around Ovatows real identity. Both Phalaenopsis versions re-appear now, for the first time after almost 20 years, fully retouched and remastered, together with an unknown unreleased track (edit) called So It Goes. This is the second in a series of Ovatow work, revived for the heads that appreciate the foggy deep of the Undacurrnt.

Black Marble erwachte im Herbst 2012 zum Leben, inspiriert vom Synthwave-Revival der frühen 2000er Jahre in New York City. Heute, vierzehn Jahre später und sieben Veröffentlichungen weiter, macht Chris Stewart weiterhin Platten, während er über Maschinen gebeugt sitzt, die sich beim Einschalten warm anfühlen und die man überreden muss, um in der Stimmung zu bleiben. Stewarts Wunsch, die Zeit mit intakten Idealen zu überbrücken, zeigt sich im Songwriting, das die Pop-Sensibilität des Projekts beibehält und gleichzeitig neue Tricks in den Hut zaubert. ,Life in Small Spaces" tauscht Synth-Wände gegen mehr Gitarre ein und greift dabei auf frühe amerikanische College-Radio-Staccato-Gitarrenlinien zurück, die an Pylon, The Necessaries und R Stevie Moore erinnern, sowie auf Live-Drum-Samples - eine Anspielung auf den einfachen, metronomartigen Stil von Wire. Stewart erklärt den Grund für die Veränderung als einen Weg, ,diese glockige, hypnotische Qualität zu erzeugen. Wie ein Radio-Drehknopf, der zwischen zwei Sendern steht." Visuell zeigt ,Life in Small Spaces" Stewart allein auf dem Cover in einem kargen Raum, umgeben von einer Explosion aus Konfetti - ein Bild, das eine in sich geschlossene Welt widerspiegelt, die zwar klein, trostlos und überladen wirken mag, aber ganz und gar seine eigene ist. Ein passender Rahmen für ein Album, das Begrenzung als eine Form der Klarheit begreift und die Geschichte davon erzählt, sich für ein einfaches Leben zu entscheiden, Stabilität und Komfort aufzugeben zugunsten einer Existenz voller mutiger und fesselnder Verbindungen. Dies spiegelt zudem Black Marbles Vertrauen nicht nur in seine Kunst wider, sondern auch in die Gemeinschaft, die sich im Laufe der Jahre um das Projekt herum entwickelt hat. ,Life in Small Spaces ist das, worüber ich als Künstler sprechen möchte.
