Working On It (here’s the original - you heard the remix on Chapter 3), a mid tempo bossa-inspired track features the wordsmithery of Philadelphia’s Rich Medina speaking on the idiosyncrasies and journey of life, joined by Bembe Segue. Together features Vanessa Freeman on vocals - previously heard in remix form on Chapter 2 - a timelessly uplifting soulful house excursion. Domu returns to the project with a second remix of Little Did I Know - this time flipping it for the broken beat dancefloor in classic Domu style, and we wrap up with Neroli’s Volcov remixing Anybody Out There for the 4/4 lovers.

Opening with the broken beat, soul-drenched I See You featuring Detroit’s Paul Randolph on vocals along with Taku Hirano on percussion Chapter 3 is here! Vanessa Freeman and Bembe Segue absolutely radiate on the head-nod of Little Did I Know, complete with Marcus Machado lacing classic D’Angelo-meets-Prince guitars. You heard the Domu remix on Chapter 1, and finally here’s the original! The EP wraps up with two remixes courtesy of Alex Attias and LTJ Xperience. Alex reworks the Bembe Segue featuring Never Gonna Leave into a deep tech house dancefloor workout while Italy's LTJ Xperience’s remix brings the mid tempo 4/4 to Rich Medina and Bembe Segue on Working On It (original version still to come!).

After a short break mezin is back with the 4th record, helmed by Crihan. An Ordinary Family is a special affair, put together over a long period with a special narrative in mind, embodied by 4 pieces representing each of the main characters in F.M. Dostoevski magnum opus (or so we think!) The Brothers Karamazov.

In this exercise of imagination, Alin attempts to push his creative juices to new heights to represent his perception of the novel’s titular actors. From religious themes, distant church bells and organs, yet, a lighthearted Aliosha to the dark reveries and otherworldly echoes of Ivan through to the sheer power and brute force of Dmitri and finally intersecting with sly, slinky but confident Grushenka. An Ordinary Family sets off on an ambitious trip that, we hope, will spark some curiosity for the novel, but we’ll be happy if you keep on dancing, too!

Gerald Mitchell is back on Mother Tongue after the now classic "Another Day" with a new Los Hermanos EP, this time bringing it back to the origins with the Detroit Techno opus "Family".

Recorded in Tokyo with Ian O'Brien, this special extended version has "Anthem" written all over it. Also included is the futuristic tech funk of "Paradigm 4th Shifter" and the intergalactic beatless space jam "Far Beyond Sight".

Bread & Souls is an ensemble of musicians, singers, DJs, producers and most of all, friends: a global family brought together by Franco Fusari under the musical direction of producer/electronic jazz pioneer Mark de Clive-Lowe.

Chapter 1 features vocal and instrumental tracks kicking off with an incredible exclusive: for the first time together on the same track West London Queens Bémbé Segue and Vanessa Freeman deliver a broken beat future classic. Paul Randolph features on a superb boogie tune, while Domu delivers an amazing remix of “Little Did I Know” - after almost a decade’s absence, he’s as brilliant as ever. And all supported by a great band: MdCL (keys), Tommaso Cappellato (drums), Marcus Machado and Landy Shores (guitars), Max Luthert (bass), Taku Hirano (percussion).

Originally released in 2018 on Undisputed Records, "The One Love Family" is Skarra Mucci's 7th studio album. For this featuring album where one or more guests appear on each track, the artist invited a cast of choice with guests from various backgrounds such as the heavyweights of French Reggae from Dub Inc or the Jamaican stars of yesterday and today such as Ken Boothe, King Kong or Chezidek… This album is a hymn to sharing in which we find the many facets of the Dancehall President.

‘Gentle Persuaders’ is the Love Love debut from London based neo-noise-jazz outfit Sly & The Family Drone. In the form of a four track long player, Sly vomit forth a smooth serving of curious and clattering noise not devoid of fun.

With the ingredients of shattering baritone saxophone, splurges of analogue noise, rolling drum derangements and snarling feedback it is immediately clear that these formidable noise-mongers have honed their methods of ear-attack adeptly. Textural spaces are peppered with bouts of densely packed controlled-chaos creating a tension that builds almost imperceptibly until the crushing pay-off that comes with the final track.

The politest of bludgeonings, ‘Gentle Persuaders’ has a real sense of cohesion and style, at times subtle and at others shudderingly direct.

With their unusual and interactive live shows, the group cut their teeth stunning the audiences of punk and noise scenes across the UK and Europe. Now, Sly & The Family Drone present their most complete recording to date; a rush of sheer ataxia ushering in a new age of noise.

Freda Payne’s two-step classic rare groove “Tell Me Please” gets it’s long overdue first release on 7” single. Since first recorded and released in 1978 it has remained only as an album track from Freda’s “Supernatural High” LP that year. This Skip Scarborough composed song also featured on Expansion’s ‘Skip Scarborough Songbook’ but a 7” edition has never appeared before. It is accompanied by a Pam Sawyer/Marilyn McLeod song

“I Get High (On Your Memory)” produced by Tony Camillo. Originals of this on Capitol Records from 1977 exchange hands for small fortunes making both these songs on one 7” single an essential purchase. Both high quality definitive luxury soul.

Family Jubilee III – Part 1 is the first part of a fabulous overview into Meanders momentum – featuring two club-oriented tracks from Christopher Ledger + Pressure Point and Pîrvu, and a gorgeous downtempo track from Sublee.

Berlin-based, Dutch-born Steffi possesses near-boundless prowess. As a DJ, she’s proved her effortless mastery of disco, house, electro, and techno; as helm of labels Klakson and Dolly, she’s long maintained her status as tastemaker; as a producer, she has graced us with three solo LPs and numerous 12”s. Dark Entries is now honored to unveil the debut of her project Crushed Soul, a moniker she had used only once in 2013 for an Ostgut Ton compilation track. The mutual esteem of Steffi and DE has been previously fruitful, with Steffi providing a remix for Cute Heels’ 2016 EP on DE, but this is their first full-length collaboration.

The Family of Waves EP represents both familiar and novel pastures for Steffi. While her love of electro and classic Detroit techno have been oft-evident, here we witness the darker shades of new wave and industrial creep to the forefront. This turn for the twisted feels not just natural, but predestined, an inevitable succumbing to morbid forces. But Steffi also views Family as “a playful association...a mix of my past and new modern waves". There is a kernel of whimsy, even joy, lurking within the record’s temporal jumblings. The A-side opens with “Gravitational Field”, which juxtaposes its gnarled bassline with unearthly percussives and a recurrent resonant gong. The wild sonic palette speaks Steffi’s singular voice. “Scalar Property” continues the paranoid propulsion with an unhealthy dose of what can only be described as Metroid-funk, its staccato bass jabs interlaced with ghastly vocal pads. The B-side contains a diptych of slower tracks that juggle reference points both retro and futurist. In “Family of Waves”, a churning EBM-esque bassline battles acerbic yelps. On this track, the collision of past and present is most pronounced, as if A Split Second were covering Mike Parker. “Diffusion of Heat” closes the EP with what feels like a perfect synthesis of Steffi’s musical passions: funky, warbling chord stabs; intricate rhythmic diversions; the ecstasy of repetition. Here, disco, new wave, and techno marry harmoniously, if only to inform us of the disharmony of our present.

All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The sleeve and accompanying postcard were designed by Eloise Leigh using video art stills by Goldenliustra.

A natural progression of their sound, “Co/de/termination” is a crystallized evolution of The Family Men’s sonic identity, pushing their intensity and precision to new extremes. “Co/de/termination” stands as a concise and deliberate statement, shaped by both urgency and restraint.

An album with reflection, resilience, journey, and elemental connections at its core, Hollow Chapters is a collection of original songs written and performed by the Marsh Family - Dad (Ben, 49), Mum (Danielle, 48), sons Alfie (19) and Tom (18), and daughters Ella (16) and Tess (14). Recently featured in The Observer, the multiinstrumentalist family group of six from Kent have a significant international online following passionate about their mix of folk- pop harmonies, uplifting messages, authentic imperfections, and sense of connection and heart. Hollow Chapters ranges across genres (from acoustic protest songs to funk and reggae rock), but has a vintage organic style, rooted in natural analogies, ideas of journey and lifecycle, and epic and inspirational themes. It promises to move people emotionally, whether through ballads about departed loved ones or stirring tracks designed to forge collective action and hope. The songs tell stories using the different voices of family members, drawing inspiration from poetry, landscape, and artefacts.

A strange, unpredictable, sardonic and yet deeply personal record inspired by all from Fever Ray to The Flaming Lips, Liars, Mercury Rev and Beck, Island Family is Pictish Trail's contrarian view of arcadia; a search for the euphoric in the bucolic, bound up in sometimes conflicting ideas and feelings around nature and environment, sincerity and artifice, escapism and belonging. It's an album about how no man can remain an island, however hard he might try. Released by Fire Records, with support from Johnny's own label Lost Map, and produced by long-term collaborator Rob Jones (The Voluntary Butler Scheme, The Gene Dudley Group), 'Island Family' opens with its title track, a song of death, ghosts and the ties that bind, fusing abrasive electronic beats with a tongue-in-cheek fireside folk refrain and the haunted ice cream van melody of a digitally reincarnated traditional Scottish jig. A purgative surrender to nature's whim driven by a clattering machine drumbeat rolled in a puddle of filthy dirty fuzz, 'Natural Successor' is five-and-a-half-minutes of cathartic churning bass. 'In The Land of The Dead' is an eight-bit glitch-core reflection on island party excesses spasming into existential dread and regret, suitably accompanied by a funereal mariachi band. It's followed by the epic 'It Came Back', the understated verses and arms-aloft falsetto chorus of which are accompanied by a tense, foreboding bass-driven electro hip hop instrumental with (spoiler) a brain-shattering industrial-metal meltdown. 'Melody Something' is the album's purest moment, a cautiously uplifting solar-powered-ballad about losing track of time in the cycle of the seasons, and the gap between memory and reality. Und auch nach 30 Jahren berühren die Aufnahmen dieser Show immer noch Menschen weltweit.
Jetzt zum 30. Jubiläum soll das gefeiert werden! Am 02.10.2025 erscheint dieses legendäre Konzert in
einer „Deluxe Edition“ auf DVD und 2 CD’s und über 30 Seiten voll mit tollen Fotos.

Since their reunion in 2015, Malka Family has been enchanting stages once again and releasing fabulous albums. Le Retour Du Kif (2018) and SuperLune (2022), featuring almost all of the original musicians, have marked their comeback.
Today, Planète Claire, a 16 tracks album, is undoubtedly one of Malka Family’s best works.

Back to the Roots

In 1987, after organizing the Chez Roger Boîte Funk parties with Dee Nasty and Actuel/Radio Nova, Joseph Mannix and Isaac Ben Araz (then guitarist and trombonist of the group Human Spirit) decided to create a French-style Funk band.
The group quickly became one of the most spectacular live sensations of the 1990s.
Their self-produced debut album, Malka On The Beach, was released in 1991. Both the press and the public went crazy for these little funkateers, leading to a series of non-stop tours. Their concerts—wild, costumed performances—drew massive crowds. Warner France took notice and signed them.

Their second album, Tous Des Ouf (WEA), a true Space Opera P-Funk featuring guests like Sidney (Hip-Hop), Dee Nasty, Marco Prince (FFF), Juan Rozoff, and more, was released in 1992.

After touring the world multiple times, the band became independent again in 1995 and recorded an EP for Big Cheese Records: Fricassé De Funk.

By the late ‘90s, the rise of DJs and electronic music signaled the decline of large live bands. Due to its logistical weight—the band had over 14 members on their last tour—Malka Family was forced to part ways in 1997 after touring for their album Fotoukonkass (RCA/BMG).

But that was without counting on the resilience and extraordinary freshness of these Funk performers…

In the arts, the lines between genius and madness, as well as fact and fiction, often blur. Such, it seems, has always been the life of the artist, filmmaker, actor, musician, and composer Vincent Gallo. A cult figure and a member of various creative undergrounds for the better part of half a century, Gallo has courted controversy, ruffled feathers, and made some of the most singular statements to flirt at the outer edges of popular culture that can be called to mind. Arguably most well known for his work in film, during the late '90s and early 2000s - notably with his soundtrack for “Buffalo 66” and a suite of releases on Warp - Gallo became something of a sensation in the world of independent music for a visionary, incredibly unique and sensitive approach to sonority. For a time, the world was abuzz, waiting on bated breath for more, and yet time passed. Bar a few fragments, appearing here and there, almost nothing has been heard from Gallo, within the world of music, for more than 20 years. That is, until now, with the release of “The Music of Butterfly”, the debut full-length of Butterfly, his duo with Harper Simon: beautifully produced and issued by Family Friend Records - Gallo’s own label, founded in 1981 - in a deluxe edition that simply left us speechless: 180g vinyl in textured heavy gatefold cover with paste-on artwork and thick anti-static innersleeve. More or less picking up from where we last encountered him, spinning captivating melodies and gentle song-craft within the quieter temperaments of DIY, left-field pop, once again, and at long last, Vincent Gallo, encountered in an incredibly successful collaboration with Harper Simon as Butterfly, reminds us that he’s as much a force within the realm of music as he is within film. Not to be missed. This one isn’t going to sit around for long.

Vincent Gallo’s biography reads like the stuff of blaring beauty: a figure of moderate fame in his own right, who has remained at the centre of cultural ferment as the decades have rolled by. Born in 1961, in Buffalo, New York, as the story goes he ran away to New York City at the age of 16 and fell into the brewing counterculture of the Downtown scene, William Burroughs and John Giorno, in addition to the cream of his own peers, and began making paintings, music, and experimenting with film. In addition to being a member of the now legendary band Gray, with the artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and the filmmaker, Michael Holman, Gallo appeared in the cult 1981 film “Downtown 81”, before slowly beginning a career as an actor and catching the eye of Claire Denis, who brought his talents into the broader cultural gaze. Catapulted into the public by his own subsequent career as a filmmaker with “Buffalo '66” (1998) and “The Brown Bunny” (2003), both of which were marked by controversy and praise, Gallo further captivated the public with a partially brilliant, if not relatively brief, flurry of activity in the realms of music.

While Gallo had already been making music for roughly two decades at the time of his release of the “Brown Bunny” soundtrack, and the four release issued by Warp in rapid succession between 2001 and 2002 - “When”, “Honey Bunny”, “So Sad”, and “Recordings of Music for Film” - the almost fanatical fandom reached a fever pitch at the moment, allowing him, for some, to be regarded as much, if not more, as a musical artist than an actor and filmmaker. Anyway you cut it, in a few short years, he proved himself to be a polymath of rare talent. Somewhere along the way, while both were working as members of Yoko Ono's Plastic One Band, Gallo met the New York based, highly regarded singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer, Harper Simon, who also happens to be the son of Paul Simon. The pair fell into an incredibly fruitful duo collaboration, which came to be called Butterfly, and “The Music of Butterfly” being their debut full-length release.

Written, performed, and recorded by Vincent Gallo and Harper Simon in New York City between the winter of 2018 and the spring of 2019, the ten tracks comprising “The Music of Butterfly” are cumulatively a gesture of gentle, DIY / bedroom left-field pop, falling within the rough territory for which Gallo became renowned during the late '90s and early 2000s, making one feel like barely a moment had passed since we’d encountered his graceful hand at song-craft. Stripped back and raw, while retaining a sense of warmth and intimacy, across the length of “The Music of Butterfly” the duo of Gallo and Simon weave something completely captivating at the juncture of minimalism, experimentalism, and pop: meandering moments of texture and tone, slowly forming toward flirtations of melody that flower into song and back again. COWBOY FAMILY, led by Wada Yosuke, is a DJ collective active in Tokyo’s burgeoning underground scene. Launching an imprint in 2024, COWBOY FAMILY RECORDS, the label opened proceedings with Cowboy Family Business – a limited issue V/A pressing featuring Mr. Ho, Takashi Himeoka and Rio Kawamoto.

In quick succession, the label proudly introduces its second offering: Internet O.G.s, by Rio Kawamoto. Sporting nostalgic, computer-inspired track titles, the EP references the sounds that characterised Rio’s youth in the early 2000s; old-school electro, electroclash, and raw-textured house music.

The release also includes a remix from Seoul-based DJ and producer Mogwaa, furthering COWBOY FAMILY’s ties with the broader Asian electronic music scene

Skeletal Family are: Anneka Latta - Vocals, Stan Greenwood - Guitars, Roger "Trotwood" Nowell - Bass, Ian "Karl Heinz" Taylor - Keyboards / Saxophone, Adrian "Ozzy" Osadzenko - Drums and Percussion. Formed in 1982 with vocalist Anne Marie Hurst, their debut album 'Burning Oil' topped the National UK Indie Charts for three weeks in Autumn 1984 above other contemporary northern bands The Smiths and New Order. The band subsequently recorded seven BBC Radio One sessions for John Peel, Janice Long & Kid Jensen. They Signed to Chrysalis Records in 1986. Their discography includes the studio albums: 'Futile Combat', 'Sakura', 'Songs of Love Hope and Despair', 'Day of All Days'. The current line up came together in 2021, with the introduction of vocalist Anneka Latta with the band performing live at 'Wave Gotik Treffen' in Leipzig and 'Darker Waves Festival' in Huntington Beach, California as well as various dates in the UK and USA. Their latest album 'Light From The Dark' was recorded at Paul Weller's 'Black Barn' Studio and received critical acclaim already earlier this year.

Since its release in 2013, Nick Lowe’s holiday album Quality Street: A Seasonal Selection for All the Family has been critically lauded for “the retro-reinvention of the Christmas album” (Uncut) and was heralded by TIME and Rolling Stone as one of the greatest holiday records of all time. Featuring original tunes by St. Nick himself, such as the witty “Christmas at the Airport” and tender “I Was Born in Bethlehem,” to reimagined covers like an ironically bombastic, swinging rendition of “Silent Night” and the rearranging of Wizzard’s “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day” and Roger Miller’s “Old Toy Trains.”

Polishing Peanuts DELUXE's first EP (November 2011) opened the door & created a buzz about the band's future projects. Zamrock was a bona-fide rock scene: on the African continent, only Nigeria can claim one so comprehensive, and Nigeria’s was largely catalyzed and funded by subsidiaries of the European major labels. Zamrock was as independent as the newly-named country, formerly known as Northern Rhodesia. Zamrock is starting in its completeness, especially for a scene that emerged, unfurled and disappeared so quickly. From Musi-O-Tunyaís fusion of Fela’s Afro-beat, Hendrix’s rock, South African jazz and traditional Zambian melodies and rhythms to Salty Dog’s acid folk/rock, Zambia’s rock scene contained all of rock’s subgenres. Zamrock was much more than an imitation of American and European rock music: it quickly became a uniquely Zambian movement, befitting of its name. WITCH, Paul Ngozi and Amanaz sound nothing like other rock music from the African continent - or elsewhere. Zamrock came from a nation's youth carrying forth the momentum of a political and social revolution with a musical revolution that maintained the fiery power of early rock - in the mid-to late-70s. From that era, Zamrockís energy is matched only by the punk and hip hop scenes of England and America.

In a simultaneous act of defiance and impishness, Sham Family are etching their name in the wet concrete out front of the establishment. Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Toronto, Canada, the dynamic quartet is emerging as a prominent voice in the contemporary post- punk landscape.

Um dieses Jubiläum würdig zu feiern, erscheint nun „Over The Hump - 30th Anniversary Remaster“ am
04.10.2024.

Das neue Remaster dieses Albums bietet ein etwas anderes Stereobild, ist deutlich wärmer in den Bässen
und insgesamt setzt sich die Musik besser durch. Die neue Art dieses Album zu hören, wird sicherlich vielen
gefallen! Ein weiteres Highlight dieser Jubiläumsausgabe sind die tollen Fotos aus der Zeit 1994/1995, die
besonders in der Fotobuch Edition vertreten sind. Viele dieser Fotos wurden bisher nie veröffentlicht.

Das Duo aus Jerusalem und Lothringen, bestehend aus Ruth Rosenthal und Xavier Klaine, entwickelt seit etwa fünfzehn Jahren ein einzigartiges Universum, in dem sich synthetische Punkklänge und dröhnende Gebete einer Gesellschaft am Rande des Abgrunds zusammenfinden. Genährt von Doom/Drone, Barockmusik, multidisziplinärem Theater und afroamerikanischer Kultur, verfolgen sie weiterhin einen einzigartigen Weg, indem sie einen radikalen Diskurs verteidigen, der sich seiner Widersprüche bewusst ist. Sie spielen auf der ganzen Welt in Clubs, Galerien und Kirchen. Ihre Musik ist minimalistisch, dunkel, politisch und rau, zwischen Magie, Chaos und Melancholie. Winter Family machen auch dokumentarische Theateraufführungen, die von großen europäischen Theatern produziert werden. Manchmal spielt ihre Tochter Saralei mit ihnen. "On Beautiful Days" ist das vierte Album von Winter Family und es erzählt in Wort und Klang viele Geschichten: die der Musiker selbst und ihrer Lieben, die ihres Umfeldes, ihres Lebens in Jerusalem, Paris oder Lothringen; die von Frauen, 'Hexen', Verschwörungsmythen; die des kapitalistischen und kolonialistischen Europas; die der Blindheit und Gewalt der israelischen Gesellschaft und der Indoktrination ihrer Bevölkerung; die der Besetzung Palästinas; die des ewigen Eingesperrt seins, die einer Laborratte; und vielleicht auch Deine Geschichte. Wir hören Pumpenorgeln und Harmoniums, ein altes Klavier, Verzerrungen und himmlisches weißes Rauschen, Sirenen, marschierenden Stiefel, Atmen im Schlaf, Betäubungsgranaten am Checkpoint 56 in Hebron, die Flötenklänge von Saralei, Beats von einem iPhone und Ruths (sprechende, erzählende, kommentierende) Stimme. Wir tauchen ein in all diese zeitgenössischen Geschichten, die von der Geschichte heimgesucht werden, in das Gefühl eines Sprungs ins Leere, in einen Zustand der Dissoziation oder in ein Gefühl der Befreiung. Es ist ein Beweis für Stan Rogers’ Wirkung als Songwriter,
dass 40 Jahre nach seinem plötzlichen, tragischen Tod bei
einem Flugzeugbrand im Jahr 1983, als er gerade einmal 33
Jahre alt war, immer noch Menschen – ob jung oder alt –
seine Lieder singen und seinen Einfluss feiern. Seine Lieder
„Northwest Passage“, „Barrett’s Privateers“ und „The Mary
Ellen Carter“ sind tief in der nordamerikanischen
Seefahrtskultur verwoben. Jetzt erhältlich: Neupressungen
seltener Stan Rogers-Aufnahmen auf Vinyl. „For The Family
“ erschien erstmals nur Monate nach seinem Tod und enthält
Interpretationen traditioneller kanadischer Volkslieder,
darunter auch solche von Rogers’ Onkel Lee Bushell und
Großvater Sidney Bushell. „Coffee House to Concert Hall“ ist
ein Kompilationsalbum mit Live-Auftritten, und der letzte Titel,
„Down the Road“, wurde fünf Tage vor Stan Rogers’ Tod live
in McCabe’s Guitar Shop aufgenommen. „Home in Halifax“ ist
ein Live-Album, das im März 1982 im Rebecca Cohn
Auditorium in Halifax, Nova Scotia, aufgenommen wurde.

Gilligan Moss - das aus Brooklyn stammende Duo, bestehend aus den Kindesfreunden Ben und Evan - ist mit seinem neuen Album “Speak Across Time” zurück auf ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective!

Auf „Speaking Across Time“ kapselt jeder der zwölf Tracks des Albums persönliche Momente durch eine Linse der Zeitlosigkeit ein. 90er-Jahre-Rave, Old Country, 70er-Jahre-Soul, Honky-Tonk-Piano-House und sogar ein Sample des Dichters und langjährigen Mentors, David Mason, kollidieren unter Gilligan Moss' gekonnter Einbindung von Samples und moderner Tanzmusikproduktion.
Die Band arbeitete mit der bildenden Künstlerin, Orly Anan, in Mexiko-Stadt zusammen, um farbenfrohe Kostüme und Masken für das Single- und Album-Artwork zu kreieren. Das Kunstwerk ist eine Erkundung von Dualität, Spaltung, Zwillingsschaft und Zusammengehörigkeit. Orly war von entscheidender Bedeutung für diese Aufgabe.
Das Duo trat bereits auf namhaften Festivals wie Coachella, Pitchfork Paris und Electric Forest auf und spielte im Vorprogramm von u.a. Glass Animals, Toro Y Moi, Tourist, Chromeo, ODESZA, Elderbrook und vielen mehr.

A late period hard-rock, proto-punk entry in Zambian guitarist and bandleader Paul Ngozi’s extensive catalog. Featuring drummer Chrissy Zebby Tembo. LP includes oversized 8 page booklet detailing Ngozi’s arc, rare photographs, discography and annotations. Released under license from the Estate of Paul Nyirongo. “Zambia's Zamrock movement that exploded in the 1970s ... provided young musicians access to European and American music, and created a unique sound. At its root, Zamrock melded fuzz-toned psychedelia, chugging garage rock and roiling funk with a broad mix of African cadences and beats.... enlivening a scene that included bands like Musi O Tunya, Amanaz and the Ngozi Family.” - The New York Times Zamrock was a bona-fide rock scene, with albums released through independent labels based in Zambia. This music scene was complete, encompassing the genres of rock, acid folk, fusion, Afro-beat, South African jazz and traditional Zambian melodies. It quickly became a uniquely Zambian movement, befitting of its name. WITCH, Paul Ngozi and Amanaz sound nothing like other rock music from the African continent or elsewhere.

The Family is the second studio album by Seattle based band Satchel, which was formed by vocalist Shawn Smith and drummer Regan Hagar after their previous band Brad (which also featured Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard) went on hiatus. In total, the band released four studio albums, of which their 1996 second album The Family is considered as their best. It was co-produced by Stone Gossard. The Family is available on black vinyl and includes a 12-page booklet.
