Thundermother-Gründerin, Songwriterin und Gitarristin Filippa Nässil schrieb die Songs für ihr neues Soloalbum während der 2022er Thundermother-US-Tour mit Whitesnake und den Scorpions. "American Diaries" ist genau das, wonach es klingt: Eine Landkarte der USA in sechs Bluesrock-Songs, gesungen einmal auf Englisch, einmal auf Schwedisch.
