st die dänische Band angepisst von Politik, Religion, den Medien und der Gesellschaft im Allgemeinen. Das neue Album Culture" ist besser
strukturiert als die Vorgängeralben, sowohl was das Riffing als auch das gesamte Songwriting betrifft. Und dank der brillanten Produktion - mit
freundlicher Genehmigung des Produzenten Tue Madsen und seiner Antfarm Studios - hat der nordische Fünfer endlich das Potenzial erreicht,
das er auf seinen beiden Vorgängeralben und bei seinen explosiven Live-Auftritten versprochen hat.
Mit zwei neuen Mitgliedern, Anders Gyldenøhr (ex-Grope, ex-Hatesphere) am Schlagzeug und Mark Damgaard am Gesang, sind I'll Be Damned
musikalisch gereift, was zu einer ernsthafteren Herangehensweise an den Schreibprozess geführt hat. Dies zeigt sich in einem Album - nach "Road
To Disorder" (2018) und "I'll Be Damned" (2017) - mit weniger Humor, dunkleren und aggressiveren Riffs, gefolgt von explosivem Gesang und
Texten, die eher Themen wie Wut, Verzweiflung und Hoffnungslosigkeit als Sarkasmus und Ironie beinhalten. Die Thematik von "Culture" dreht
sich jedoch immer noch um den Hass auf Religion und Politik, aber auch um neuere Formen extremer kultureller Unterschiede.
Mit Einflüssen von Clutch, Down und Rage Against The Machine im Rücken vereinen I'll Be Damned einen kraftvollen, aber dennoch melodischen
und groovigen Schlag ins Gesicht mit lyrischer Schärfe und verbindenden Parolen - mit Haltung.

"Blinded by Fame", das zweite Studioalbum von Dutch Interiors, ist ein Fan-Favorit. Es wurde noch nie zuvor auf Vinyl gepresst. Die sechsköpfige Band aus Long Beach begleitet sich schon seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten. Jack Nugent, Conner Reeves, Shane & Hayden Barton, Davis Stewart und Noah Kurtz waren alle Freunde aus Kindertagen, und die Band ist das Ergebnis einer kreativen Verbindung, die durch bereits bestehendes Vertrauen und vertraute Verbundenheit entstanden ist. Man kann die unterschiedlichen Stile und Persönlichkeiten der Bandmitglieder an den Songs erkennen, die sie unabhängig voneinander schreiben, bevor sie sie der gesamten Band vorstellen, wo die Stücke oft zu ganz neuen Formen heranwachsen. Trotz dieser individuellen Herangehensweise an das Songwriting beschreiben sie sich gegenseitig als ,Zweige desselben Lebensstamms", deren aufeinanderprallende Einflüsse und Erfahrungen alle in die Songs einfließen. Mit Einflüssen, die von Ambient über Southern Rock und Jazz bis hin zu Dance-Musik reichen, wandelt sich die Band und oszilliert zwischen Alternative Country, kantigem Indie-Rock und Anklängen an dissonante Ambient-Klänge, während sie dennoch wie eine Band klingt, die sowohl ihre eigene private Sprache spricht als auch diese in etwas Universelles übersetzt. Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres jüngsten Albums ,Moneyball" und einer neuen EP, ,It's Glass", über Fat Possum ist Dutch Interior gekommen, um zu bleiben. Lob für Dutch Interior kommt von Pitchfork, Rolling Stone und anderen.

Swedish power trio MONOLORD return with their highly anticipated new album, Your Time to Shine. Recorded by MONOLORD drummer Esben Willems at Studio Berserk, Your Time to Shine sees the trio looking inward, cultivating the elements that take their monstrous, heavy riffing to new heights with a darker edge. A five-track journey that spans across crushing doom rock to more spacey, groove laden opuses, Your Time to Shine is MONOLORD at their most unfiltered and focused. Out of the gate, MONOLORD kick-off a wild ride with the soaring, fist-raising opener “The Weary” and its insanely catchy melodies. Elsewhere, the stop/start switch between sweetness and abrasiveness of “To Each Their Own” showcases a new element to the band’s repertoire. MONOLORD embraces the power of the riff with pulsating chugs on “I’ll Be Damned” and the mind-expanding title-track, whose final section brings back some of the band's spaced-out rock n’ roll beginnings. Everything culminates in their new epic, “The Siren Of Yersinia”, whose lonesome call can be heard in each feedback-ridden note and in each pained, buried vocal line. "To mark the 50th anniversary of the 1970 concept double album, Jesus Christ Superstar, it has today been announced that a variety of special anniversary edition albums will be released on September 17th. This landmark release, which includes full cooperation from the creators Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, features an array of exclusive demos, commentaries, interviews and much more.
The special anniversary editions are a celebration of the original 1970 concept double album and its continued success spanning 50 years. With the new editions all having been re-mastered at Abbey Road, fans have a great selection to choose from.
