Der Grammy-nominierte Julian Lennon hatte nicht vor, nach seiner 2011 erschienenen LP Everything Changes ein weiteres Album zu machen, aber mit der Zeit hat sich etwas verändert. Der Künstler erinnerte sich an Songs, die er vor 30 Jahren geschrieben und aufgenommen hatte, und beschloss, die Produktion zu aktualisieren, um die Tracks für die heutige Welt relevanter zu machen. Der kreative Prozess brachte auch neue Musik hervor. Diese Songs aus den letzten drei Jahrzehnten haben sich zu Julians siebtem Studioalbum JUDE entwickelt.

Der Titel des Albums ist eine Anspielung auf den kultigen Beatles-Song "Hey Jude", den Paul McCartney schrieb, um den fünfjährigen Julian nach der Trennung seiner Eltern aufzumuntern. Das Albumcover, ein Foto des jüngeren Ichs des Musikers, begleitet von
McCartneys handgeschriebenem Titel und dem Arrangement des Songs, zeigt, wie Julian sich mit seinerVergangenheit arrangiert hat, während er in die Zukunft blickt. "...wir alle beschäftigen uns immer noch mit einigen der gleichen Fragen, die wir uns vor über 30 Jahren
gestellt haben, bis heute. JUDE zu machen war wirklich eine Reise durch mein Leben und durch all die Fragen, die ich hatte - nicht nur für die Welt, sondern auch für mich selbst. Es ist fast so, als würde ich all diese Jahre später in einen Spiegel schauen."

Chrissie Hynde & Pals kündigen neues Studioalbum an Duets Special Veröffentlichung am 17. Oktober über Parlophone Mit Beiträgen von k.d. lang, Mark Lanegan, Lucinda Williams, Dave Gahan, Cat Power, Rufus Wainwright, Carleen Anderson, Brandon Flowers, Julian Lennon, Debbie Harry, Alan Sparhawk, Shirley Manson und Dan Auerbach. Die gefeierte Musikikone Chrissie Hynde hat ein neues Album unter dem Namen „Chrissie Hynde & Pals” angekündigt, das den Titel „Duets Special” trägt und am 17. Oktober über Parlophone veröffentlicht wird. Das Album besteht aus 13 außergewöhnlichen Duetten mit einer Reihe von Weltklasse-Künstlern, darunter k.d. lang, der verstorbene Mark Lanegan, Dave Gahan, Cat Power, Brandon Flowers, Debbie Harry, Shirley Manson, Alan Sparhawk und viele mehr. Die erste Single „Always On My Mind” wurde zusammen mit Rufus Wainwright aufgenommen. „Duets Special“ ist nicht nur Chrissie Hyndes viertes Studioalbum unter ihrem eigenen Namen. Die neue Platte präsentiert eine aufregende und unerwartete Wendung inmitten eines der kreativsten Kapitel von Chrissie Hyndes Karriere. Duets Special folgt dicht auf das letzte Studioalbum von The Pretenders, Relentless, das von The Guardian als „melodisch am besten“ beschrieben wurde. Die anschließende Welttournee führte auch zu einem neuen Live-Album, Kick 'em Where It Hurts. Als Chrissie letztes Jahr beim Mark Lanegan 60 Celebration Concert im Roundhouse auftrat, meinte The Times, Chrissies Stimme „sollte mittlerweile zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehören“.

The Vee-Gees (previously known as the Versatile Gents) were from Greensboro, N.C. The versalite Gents started the Group in 1967 originally as "the African Americans" performed at a talent show at Gillespie Park School, Geensboro, North Carolina. Soon After Virginia Massey a Senior Music Major at A&T joined the group and the name was changed to Gin And The Gents. After one year Massey left the Band and their name was changed to The Versatile Gents. They reformed and called themselves the Vee Gees in the early 70’s. Carlton Morales that wrote "Vallotte" and played with Julian Lennon on guitar. Kevan Tynes on drums. Walter Carlton on bass. They recored a beautiful sweet soul side call It’s hard to say so long on Jump in 1973. They came back to the studio in 1974 and cut the incredible Talkin on Jump off records.
