Following the latest Avian release as Sigha, James Shaw now unveils his Faugust project with a 10" title on the Avian sub-label - Mira. Emotive and highly personal, Devotions (1984 - 2006) shows a side of Shaw's sound that has been largely buried since 2004, combining his experience as a guitarist with many of the sonic approaches that characterise his best known music today. Over the course of four tracks it layers pulsating bass and synth lines with melodic flourishes and a pop sensibility not seen in his other work. As per previous Mira releases, the artwork is done by Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant.

Revealed last year as a side project by UK producer Shifted, Covered In Sand now returns with a new EP: Crescent Shaped Scars will be released on the sister label of his own Avian imprint Mira, which serves as an outlet for the more experimental and duskier side of electronic music.

The release features three abrasive noise workouts. Thud of drums and ritualistic rhythms define the opener Luarica on the A-side alongside a near-melodic whine that stays present throughout the tracks. Orapa (An Interview) on the flip swallows and evokes scuffed voices of a conversation, striving into isolation, while Venetia resumes the haunting rhythm and layers of distortion.

As per previous Mira releases, the artwork is done by Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant.

The second half of the Truncheon Cadence pairing kicks off with frazzled drum patterns on the A-side, while on the flip Smouldering Wilderness rolls out huge, over-driven kicks over a faltering melody. Rigid Pathetic Heaps closes the EP with a reduced tempo and minimalistic construction over a lurching beat

When James Donadio's Prostitutes project first emerged in 2011 he already had a history in Cleveland's underground noise rock scene. Having played in several bands, he developed his new moniker to explore the fusion of noise and techno. Shortly after debuting on his own imprint StabUdown, he released his outstanding Psychedelic Black album, followed by the Crushed Interior LP for Digitalis and releases on Opal Tapes and Diagonal.

It seems to be natural that he chose Mira, an outlet for more esoteric & experimental techno, drone, noise and industrial, for his next enterprise. Truncheon Cadence comes as a split EP with part one released mid-January and part two following shortly after. Both of these 10 inches feature four sizzling, propulsive workouts with a dry, precise minimalism, characteristic of Donadio's previous productions.

From the stuttering kicks on Unanswered to the whirring sounds of This Whole Affair Is So Fucking Unfair, part one serves as the deeper share of the release.

MIRA005 by Burma Camp is the fifth release of Avian's 10' inch sub-label Mira. Following their collaboration with the British DJ and producer Ventress (who also co-runs Avian and Mira) on the recent winner on Mira (Worn - Mira004), minimal synth duo 'The KVB' return to the label with this new project.

This release again incorporates the band's nostalgic, shimmering guitar sound but also treads a darker, more dubbed feel across its 3 unnerving tracks.

Mira began in 2012 as an outlet for material sitting outside of Avian's general aesthetic - a home for more esoteric & experimental techno, noise, drone and industrial. Previous releases have come from Bleaching Agent and Covered In Sand.

MIRA004 by Worn is the fourth release of Avian's 10-inch sub-label Mira. Known for running both UK / Berlin based labels together with Shifted, the British DJ and producer Ventress now assumes his Worn alias to make his debut on the imprint.

The A-side sees the producer collaborating with the minimal synth duo 'The KVB', with 'Feminist' incorporating the band's nostalgic, shimmering guitar sound. The EPs following three tracks take the sound into more drone based territory with an oppressive undertone.
