After much anticipation, Dave has returned to announce his eagerly awaited third album – The Boy Who Played the Harp to be released on October 24th

Widely regarded as the most exciting storyteller of his generation, the announcement marks the first taste of a new chapter from the multi award-winning musician behind the critically acclaimed No.1 albums Psychodrama and We’re All Alone in This Together.

The Boy Who Played the Harp will be the first release from Dave since 2023, when self-produced Central Cee collaboration ‘Sprinter’ broke the record for the longest running #1 rap record in UK chart history, succeeding his 2022 single ‘Starlight’ which set the record for longest-running No.1 solo UK track, and the first UK No.1 by a sole writer and producer in 8 years. Autumn Lady’ was the name of a project started in 1973 but was waylaid and forgotten about and was later replaced by the 1974 album ‘As I See it Now’. This album represents the songs that were intended to become that album - some became singles (‘Bitter Bad’ and the Goffin & King classic ‘Will you love me Tomorrow?’)…but most remained unheard • Limited pressing LP of 700, pressed on deep red vinyl • CD version gives the customer a wider range of material considered for this album in 1973 across 2 discs, crammed with rare tracks. Including the controversial 27-minute version of ‘Hearing The News’ • Packaged in deluxe card gatefold sleeve with colour booklet and liner notes by Melanie’s manager and UK music journalist Dave Thompson

MELANIE - STONEGROUND WORDS LP 2x12"

Originally rumoured to be a double album the plan was shot down - Dave Thompson in conversation with Melanie managed to work out what it would look like and here we present all newly mastered the deluxe version. Woodstock and Glastonbury Fayre icon Melanie had been working with Easy Action on the deluxe vinyl and CD rerelease of one of the most legendary albums in her long catalogue prior to her very sad passing. In 1972, Melanie and her producer and husband Peter Schekeryk began work on what she intended to be her most ambitious album yet. Stoneground Words was to be a double album - the first such statement from any female rock artist. It would also be the first worldwide release on Neighborhood Records, the label she and Schekeryk established in 1971 - another first, as she entered territory into which only The Beatles, The Stones and The Moody Blues had previously stepped. Even more crucially, however, it was her personal response to the enormous success, earlier in the year, of the hit "Brand New Key" - "the bicycle song," as so many people recall it. Stoneground Words returned to the drawing board. Ten songs were selected; the remainder were placed to one side; and the album was released to generally positive reviews which included Melody Maker's assertion that it was "the most sophisticated she's made. The naiveté of the past has been replaced by deeper, more comprehensive methods of expression." She is the first to admit that the new edition of Stoneground Words is not a true facsimile of the original. The paperwork for all three projects, after all, disappeared long ago, as did the tapes ("who knows where?"). Stoneground Words will be released in March 2024 by Easy Action/Neighbourhood Records o Issued for the very first time as a double LP o Completely remastered. o Limited pressing on Pink Vinyl, CD Presented in large deluxe gatefold sleeve with full colour booklet o Brand new artwork o Originally recorded in New York in 1972 and released on Melanie's own Neighbourhood Records label.

Melanie - People In The Front Row

The first release from the remastered catalogue campaign on Melanie’s own revitalised Neighbourhood Records label (via UKs Easy Action) features the song recently used on the cult TV show Black Mirror, backed with an unreleased version of the 60s hit ‘Bo Bo’s Party’. This year Shindig Magazine did a 3-page feature on Melanie as more and more people start to ask who is she? The 7” is limited to 350 coloured vinyl copies and comes in a spined picture sleeve. Melanie landed in the New York City music and radio scene in the late 1960’s. Her first single Beautiful People immediately became a turntable hit. Her first tour began with an impressive 40-day run of shows at Paris’ world-famous L’Olympia Theater at the personal invitation of Bruno Coquatrix. In the years to come she would entertain millions: at An Aquarian Exposition (the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival), at Carnegie Hall, and the Isle of Wight and Glastonbury music festivals, The Sydney Opera House, the South Korean DMZ, the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the Royal Albert Hall, and other Venues around the globe. Melanie launched Neighborhood Records, making her the first American woman to open a mainstream record label. She recorded over 20 chart hits. Melanie received an Emmy after composing lyrics for the theme song of the hit television series Beauty and the Beast. “What Have They Done to My Song Ma” was re-recorded by Ray Charles with the Count Basie Band. Nina Simone delivered a remarkable rendition, as well. “(Lay Down) Candles in the Rain” was re-recorded by Mott the Hoople on their 1971 album Wildlife. Meredith Brooks and Queen Latifah later re-recorded the anthem. “Some Say (I Got Devil)" was re-recorded by Smith’s frontman Morrissey. Melanie has always known her calling in life was to entertain. Audiences have welcomed her to the stage for more than fifty years, and she continues to perform today.

Dave - We’re All Alone In The Together

Heute erscheint sein zweites Album ”We‘re
All Alone In This Together”, das laut der englischen GQ ”meist erwartete britische Rap-Nachfolgealbum
aller Zeiten”.
Das Cover zu ”We´re All Alone In This Together” ist eine Neuinterpretation von Claude Monets ”Impression, Soleil Levant”, ein Ölgemälde des französischen Malers aus dem Jahr 1872, das sich als namensgebend
für die Bewegung des Impressionismus herausstellen sollte. Auf den Albumtitel ”We´re All Alone In This
Musikalisch ist ”We´re All Alone In This Together” abwechslungsreich in Tempo und Inhalt, so rappt
”We´re All Alone In This Together” könnte das wichtigste britische Musikalbum des Jahres werden.
