Back- to- back albums Smiling with No Teeth (2021) and Struggler (2023) were released to critical acclaim, cementing him as one of the most distinct and innovative artists to have risen from the Australia scene in recent years. Now, at 27, he readies himself to release his third album, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE.

Smiling with No Teeth is the full length debut studio album by Ghanaian Australian artist Genesis Owusu.
The record channels Owusu's experiences with racism and depression into a gloriously chaotic collage of mutant rap, digital dub, electro-punk and psychedelic funk, heralding the arrival of Australia’s most unpredictable auteur.
Smiling with No Teeth was incredibly well received by fans and critics alike, winning 4 x ARIAS at the 2021 awards including album of the year.
The record was featured on multiple end of year best of lists including NME, Paste and triple j. Genesis Owusu returns with the highly anticipated sophomore album, STRUGGLER, out on 18 August 2023. On the back of the critically acclaimed debut album, Smiling with No Teeth, that put Genesis Owusu on the global map, a new chapter begins on May 18 with the lead single Leaving the Light. A fervent anthem about survival and perseverance, Leaving the Light, sets an urgent tone for the new album. STRUGGLER explores the chaos and absurdity of life, and our ability to endure. Where Smiling With No Teeth was all about the battle (against depression and racism), STRUGGLER is about how to get through the struggle.

The album was inspired by Owusu witnessing a close friend hitting the bring and coming through the other side. The experience, alongside reading Beckett's Waiting for Godot and Kafka's Metamorphosis, found Owusu questioning life and finding beauty in the struggle. The standard LP is featured on classic black vinyl.

After the immense success of ""Sofa Kings EP"", Royel Otis announce their debut album, Pratts & Pain. Produced by Grammy Award winner Dan Carey, the album was meticulously crafted in the cozy confines of South London's Pratts & Payne pub. The duo frequently sought refuge there to finish lyrics, and help bring forward the album's direction.
