Human Tree Records proudly presents Ghost Town, the third EP by Bam Bam’s Boogie, landing on 30 January. Following the exclusive vinyl release on Bandcamp, this marks the digital edition of the record
The project unfolds across four tracks that push the band’s hybrid language into darker, heavier territory, while also marking a new point of departure. Ghost Town consolidates what makes the trio so compelling, a rare alignment of sound, research, and pure energy, sharpened into a focused statement that still refuses to sit inside one genre.
Ghost Town is a collision of drum and bass, funk, breakbeat, and afro inspired grooves, built for maximum impact. Expect pounding rhythms, sharp textures, infectious melodies, and lyrics that cut deep. At the core is Jacopo Aluzzi, producer, bassist, and multi instrumentalist, transforming the bass into guitars, synths, and otherworldly noise through live looping and effects. On vocals, Kiko King delivers haunting words with magnetic presence, while Eric Oder on keys and synths expands the palette and amplifies the band’s live intensity. A visceral soundtrack for nocturnal movement, a chase through neon streets and empty corners, where the ghosts of the title feel uncomfortably close.
Blademasters is a new Melbourne instrumental project formed by Patrick Ryan (Cantrips) and Lachlan Stuckey (Surprise Chef). Built around the central conceit of "duelling" acoustic guitars - Ryan on steel-string and Stuckey on nylon-string - the project draws on 1960s and 1970s live studio recording traditions, foregrounding ensemble interplay, room sound, and performance-led arrangements. The wider lineup features musicians associated with Melbourne's instrumental soul and funk scene, including members of Surprise Chef, Cantrips, Karate Boogaloo and Ella Thompson's band.
Recorded live over a single day, Kings Knight / Live by the Blade was tracked with two acoustic guitars performing together in the room alongside bass and drums, with piano and vibraphone overdubs added sparingly. The release is influenced by David Axelrod's Pride (1970), particularly its fusion of cinematic orchestration, Latin and folk inflections, and deep rhythmic foundations. Both tracks share related harmonic material, presenting two contrasting but connected movements: the A-side's dramatic, tension-building opener and a more restrained, groove-led B-side. The release is presented on 7-inch vinyl with digital distribution.

There can be little argument that CHIC was disco's greatest band. By the time CHIC appeared in the late '70s, disco was already slipping into the excess that eventually caused its downfall. CHIC bucked the trend by stripping disco's sound down to its basic elements. A future classic - a project resurrected from a collaborative effort of the minds of late and great tastemaker and creator Mike Huckaby & Echospace's, Stephen Hitchell. Coming up on over 15 years since this project was conceived while working together on the Model 500 "Starlight" remix project back in 2008, this project truly captures a beautiful moment in time. During this period there was something magical in the air, a creative synergy and understanding of all things deep! The original mix (2008) results from a few sequences and patterns developed out of Wavetable ideas Mike was creating for a sample library he was curating at the time. The sweeps and transients found in these lofi wavetables truly add to the Detroit sound Mike's legacy was built upon, always staying true to his roots. After a few projects together (and more forthcoming) another collaboration was born with SF based (via Glasgow) producer, Federsen who simply put gives us a deeper than deep tribal stomper we're certain Huck would be dropping at peak hour! On the flip, cv313 + federsen reunite to surf Mike's wavetables once more, creating an addictive hook with a sick DETROIT saw bass deeper than the ocean floor! Intrusion's Dub closes out the EP and sends the listener deeper into the abyss, offering sonic designs from another planet, dubbed out into eternal bliss! We truly hope this project resonates and captures some of Mike's creative spirit and sound design. This 12" is a tribute to a true Detroit hero who's contributions to music and the culture are few and far between, a true legend.

Daniel Monaco is a musician who defies definition. An artist who is as comfortable strumming a bass as he is bending waveforms on his synths, this is a creative that guarantees something unique. Tu Sei Pazza more than meets that guarantee. The title track is an instant classic.
Soft burbling basslines float around a steady kick before daring brass sections are punctuated by scaling xylophone lines. Somewhere between late 70s lounge music and strikingly modern disco, this piece will put a smile on any face. Whodamanny lands on the flip and takes the original to moonbase five via Studio 54. Tempos are reduced as a path of cosmic laser-funk is taken by the amazingly versatile Naples producer. A cracking close to a 7” that packs a real punch.

Deaf Center travel through quiet pathways and grand boulevards in their fourth studio album “Through Time”.
Since their last full-length LP, “Low Distance” (2019), the duo has gradually shifted towards a more long-form electroacoustic sound which perhaps makes for their most immersive listening experience so far. Otto A Totland’s piano travels in less frequent rhythms than before, yet is felt even more as a relief in the quieter moments that contrast with Erik K Skodvin’s deep atmospheric worlds. There’s a searching quality within the record which feels like slow movements on the way towards something meaningful, capturing a sense of both peace and awe.
The latter part of the album takes a different turn: fluctuating electronic rhythms over deep strings create an ecstatic yet haunting duality. It is the first time a guest musician appears on a Deaf Center record: British composer and musician Simon Goff joins with violin and viola in the finale, “Further”, a hypnotising piece submerged in layers of strings and drones.
The subject of time is an ambitious one, yet Deaf Center manage to balance the humble with the grand in great warmth as seconds become minutes, hours become days and time seemingly freezes as a still-life moment.

This self-titled LP marks the fifth release of Scottish artist Murray Collier’s Dip Friso project, his longest running alias and the solitary vanguard of his own Real Landscape imprint. Across the six tracks he delivers another collection of warped percussive loops, heavily manipulated guitar work and psychedelic sound experiments that drift between popular music forms ('I’ll Get to Hiding') and whittled down takes on electric blues and shoegaze ('Another Country’). The former features the instantly recognisable croon of Still House Plants vocalist Jess HK embellishing a backdrop of tape loop alchemy, an inspired pairing given the shared history of Glasgow dwelling. ‘Thin Ayrshire’ (written with Hannan Jones) treads a similar path with Collier’s own beyond-unrecognisable voice featuring, broken suddenly by a brief flash of 12th Isle’s Loris S. Sarid & Innis Chonnel’s ‘Spalted Water Portal’ thanks to a recycled tape spool. ‘A Sorry Business’ takes on avant-jazz inspired puddle skronk, a stunted casio bleep propelling forward guitar dirge and cymbal crashes, whilst Australian minimal wave heroes The Systematics are paid homage via a farewell cover of their track ‘Midnight on Balancing Day’ (here ‘Midnight’).
All in, the album sees the project incorporating more instrumentation and a full use of vocalists, leaning less heavily on gauzy sample collage styles and providing a more introspective look at the hazy, dubwise world Collier has been building for the past half a decade.
Modularz welcomes veteran producer Edit Select - who needs no introduction. Many techno enthusiasts know his work over the years pushing the deeper hypnotic and textured sound he is so good at and this release sets a new bar for Edit Select focusing on slow building, deep atmospheric tribal influenced hypnotics. Expect this releases to be hammered by anyone looking for effective mind altering madness. TIP
