Quintessentials has a long history in putting out those nice little (or sometimes big...) compilations. It was 'deep, raw and real". Then 'thank you freaks". After that 'gentlemen cuts". Now it's 'enjoy your cuppa"! Vol. 1 starts with 4 new and refreshing faces on Quintessentials. Marc Bianco is for sure no newcomer, as he's a part of the famous Moonrise Hill Material crew with Folamour and other top french producers. 'Wet Scott' is a smooth yet freaky tune with tight beats in a best MB manner. For german Effgee, 'feels like ding' is his first track ever released. Happy lad! And we're sure it won't be the last. Italian air man Wearing Shoes is quite new to the scene, but has a quite impressive list of releases already. For Quintessentials, he teams up with...well yeah, Javonntte (check his two Quintessentials releases, 59 and 61). Proper house music guaranteed! Last but not least, Roy Vision (another french artist who just released on Roots for Bloom) goes deep and dusty, with lovely Rhodes and snares! We hope you enjoy your cuppa!

Following on from the positive feedback for KRL's 'Third' EP (Quintessentials 62), we had to give the standout track 'Never Leave' the remix treatment. 'Never Leave' is a straight up house track with those beats and rhythmic synths, but with the outstanding vocals of Janine Small it makes it a head turner! The A-side remix, courtesy of Greymatter (Wolf Music, Unique Uncut) keeps the overall vibe of the original, but adds more dirt and bass business ready for club action. The B-side remix courtesy of Quintessentials buddy Loz Goddard (Church, Razor-n-Tape) takes a step into deep broken beat territory while keeping the beautiful vocals. We love both remixes, job's done!

Deep, raw and real Then NY*AK is the man! Andrew Scott has been releasing superb bottom heavy deep house groovers for many years on various top labels (like Local Talk, Paper or Ninja Tunes Technicolor). Now its time for Quintessentials! The A-side features after the sun, a deep, minimalistic and sexy groover, and mind, a blissfull and rich low BPM tune for an early morning come down. The B-side starts with vice, a proper Detroit track bassline, strings, rims and snares - and finishes off with the funky and mellow onions. Deep, raw and real NY*AK anytime!

After a remix and a compilation track for Quintessentials, it's the third time that KRL appears on the label and also his third full EP. Following on from his previous releases on Wolf Music Recordings (yes, he can even be found on the first ever Wolf Music release!) this EP is a mixture of two older ideas started in 2014 and two completely new tracks playing on a mixture of samples and field-recorded sounds. - Third' is multistyle. It's got proper house with - never leave', a track that features the beautiful voice of Janine Small. It's got rough deepness with - rhodes to nowhere'. It's got a bit of beat madness with - confession beat'. And it's got sublime, fragile electronics with - glacier'. We love that!

After his much acclaimed - how is club 246' (Quintessentials 59) some months ago, our Detroit maestro and non stop producer is back! We love Javonntte as he covers everything from live and direct cuts to smooth deep house tunes as you will hear on his - private party ep'. No big fuss just pure house music! 'Time flies' as the saying goes and indeed it has as Quintessentials celebrates its 10 year anniversary. For a decade this mighty label has been getting some true love and support from all quarters. Listening to the back catalogue now, most of the tunes still sound fresh and keep the label's famous "deep, raw and real" motto alive.

Quintessentials has always been a platform for new talents as well as established artists, and with he likes of Anton Zap, Vakula, Baaz, The Zohar, MCDE, Nicolas, Ugly Drums, Toby Tobias, Borrowed Identity, Mat Chiavaroli, 4004, Soul of Hex, S3A, Los Goddard, Felipe Gordon, Javonntte......to name but a few, it's an enviable back catalogue.

This second half of 2017 Quintessentials will offer a lot of south american music. Like from our long time friend and regular guest Soul of Hex! Hailing from Tijuana, Soul Of Hex (also know as Sebastien Vorhaus) has a rich, nuanced and grainy style with an authenticity that's closer in sound to vintage Detroit or New York pastures, despite his Mexican heritage. Busy DJing, producing and running his own label Vicario LTD, Soul of Hex is a driving force in the Mexican scene. His new Helipop EP offers different styles like a downbeat intro, a deep bassy rough house cut (Helipop) plus 2 back to oldschool rave/warehouse tunes not afraid using some uplifting pianos, catchy vocals and deep basslines. House music all night long!

Following a number of exciting tunes released on the renowned Quintessentials, here comes Mat Chiavaroli's first long-player 'No Stranger To Madness". Warm Fostex tape hisses and MPC swings, the guy from the Pescara hills delivers 10 tracks for both your dancing and listening pleasure. The A- and B-side tracks are drenched in dusty funk samples, gritty chords and syncopated rhythms. In 'Aroma De Mi Vida' Mat chops obscure Rhodes riffs and layering them with more elements, just like in 'Whoja Vu", a heavy-sampled disco juggler very close to his previous Quintessentials releases. On the flip we find some deep chords melting with powerful gospel vocals, giving life to a track that annihilates boring dancefloors. There's a similar vibe in 'Jeep Ridaz' that reminisces about seminal Atavisme classics with broken detuned bits and agitated cut and pastes give a sense of randomness. The second part of this album shows Mat Chiavaroli's deeper side. 'Double Pain' is a tune that progressively brings you to many aspects of what Mat loves: saturated female vocals stick out while gloomy chords gently develop. 'Storia Losca' has a slightly different attitude with a huge synth presence, live percussion and dreamy pianos. The D side opens with 'The Quiet Bobobo", a distorted floor delight and ends with something closer to Mat's early music, disclosing a fresh collaboration with the young studio fellow P.Lok. 'No Stranger To Madness' fits many bills and is an impressive proof of what Mat's musical ability is.

Originally released on the V.A. Quintessentials 50 and making rather big waves, 'Grooff Machine' from Ponty Mython gets the remix treatment for some more dope grooffs! Chicago hotshot Chrissy (The nite owl diner, Classic, Razor n' Tape) puts enough Disco and Acid in it and offers a great clubby alltime classic. Ponty himself fuses lost of House, Disco, Funk and 808 busines so that you can grooff to the max. And our mexican buddy Soul of Hex (Vicario Ltd, Freerange) keeps it dark and loopy before adding some splendid riffs. Time for the Grooff Machine!

Quintessentials is very happy to present their 50th release! To celebrate this, we invited some buddies to bring the deep beats. And damn they did! Mat Chiavaroli, one of your main artists who is getting stronger and stronger, opens this jubilee release with upbuilding powerful tune, just the tune the get Quintessentials 50 started! Great to see profilic dutch producer Nachtbraker (Heist, Quartet Series) on the label too. We love his style and he will soon be as popular as Ajax Amsterdam! His subtle and dirty "Bronco" fits in perfectly. The definitive club tune that grooves and grooves and grooves comes from Ponty Mython (Dirt Crew). Alexandr is a cool guy and this is defo a cool tune. Last but not least is Soul of Hex (Freerange, Vicario). Our mexican friend is going very raw this time. Yes, why not call it electronic body music (remember)! As we are gentlemen, we added a Quintessentials sticker in the vinyl edition. Go and get it!

Our french friend Steven Wobblejay strikes back! After the sublime shake your tingsz EP' (QE 45), Steve presents again some dope deep raw tunes. Lots of old school flava with a new school twist! His partnership with Pablo Valentino as Creative Swing Alliance (Wolf Music, Faces, Tsuba a.o.) has been a great base for developping his own style. Another great talent is past, present and future Quintessentials artist Mat Chiavaroli, who's delivering a rugged and freestylish remix. Hang out - the way we love it!

Oh yeah, we love those tunes, we love the idea of this west (Mexico) to east (Lithuania) studio exchange, we love the jam style, we love the instant 'let's record it and put it on wax' feel! So we don't want to blow this up. No big PR stories, just good music made by Ponty Mython (Dirt Crew, Swedish Brandy, Eat More House) and Sebastien Vorhaus (Quintessentials, Faces Records, Vicario Musique). Buy it, play it, feel it! We just love those lil compilations here at Quintessentials, you know that. With the second part of 'Thank you freaks", we slow down the BPMs. And invite some freaks from around the globe to present their essential tracks. Like quality german duo Paskal & Urban Absolutes (again on Quintessentials!), Melbourne's finest Andy Hart (Melbourne Deepcast), the ever hot Ben Sun (with his current release on Delusions of Grandeur) and legend Toby Tobias. Quintessentials 32 or the 'B.D.D.K. EP' is a joint venture of up and coming Paskal & Urban Absolutes and House veterans Henry L & Ingo Sänger. All 4 producers are connected by their penchant for deep and raw house music, while living quite far apart in Berlin (B), Düsseldorf (D), Dortmund (D) and Köln (K). Paskal & Urban Absolutes recently released on the highly respected Sonar Kolletiv label among others, whereas Henry L and Ingo Sänger released on their own Farside label and have been playing House music all life long. The 2 original tracks plus the 2 remixes are all sexy swingers! Welcome to 2013!

There's no need to do a big introduction of Deep Space Orchestra. Si Murray and Chris Barker have releases on a number of heavyweight labels (e.g. Delusions of Grandeur or Use of Weapons) and regular guest appearances at club nights and radio shows throughout the UK and rest of the world. Their second EP for Quintessentials is some raw and analogue business topped with the DSO funk! Wolf Music hot shot KRL adds some piano and old school power on his remix and we must admit we're delighted!

Well, the ìdeep, raw and realî series has come to an end with volume 4, but Quintessentials
keep these lovely compilations coming. The ìthank you freaksî series is about hot tunes from
hot producers. And part 1 is offering a lot of them: Andy Ash, Uncle Deep, Chicago Damn
and Marcos Cabral! Quite essential!
