Linval Thompson is one of the great roots vocalists that ruled the dancehalls of Jamaica in the mid 1970’s. His distinctive vocal style and roots lyrics, that spoke of the struggles that faced the Rastas, hit a chord with the people of Jamaica, and provided a string of hits for him in the dancehalls. This in turn, would set a tone that he carried on through his musical career and future production work. Linval Thompson (b.1959, Kingston, Jamaica) was actually raised in Queens, New York. He cut his first record there at the age of 16 ‘No Other Woman’ with future Third World singer Bunny Ruggs. He also cut a couple of tracks for a US producer E Martin ‘’Jah Jah Deh’and ‘Weeping and Wailing’. In 1974 he returned to Jamaica and cut ‘Mama Say’ and a version of D Brown’s ‘Westbound Train’ for producer K Hobson which got Thompson noticed by producer Phil Pratt. Pratt took him to Lee Perry’s Black Ark studio’s where he cut ‘Kung Fu Man’. Thompson’s friendship with fellow singer Johnny Clarke led to a meeting with producer Bunny Lee. His first track cut for Lee was ‘Don’t Cut Off Your Dreadlocks’ and it became a big hit in Jamaica. Bunny Lee was the producer of the moment and Linval added to his long list of hit singles with ‘A Big Big Girl’, ‘Cool Down Your Temper’, ‘Ride On Dreadlocks’ and the title of this compilation ‘Jah Jah Is The Conqueror’. He seemed to hit a musical height working for Bunny Lee (who as he has done with many of his singers) encouraged Linval into production work himself. Which has led to another chapter in Linval’s story. Working with an array of artists including, Freddie McGregor, Johnny Osbourne, Barry Brown, Rod Taylor and many more. But it is his singing career that we focus on here and that great period in reggaes history the mid 1970’s where Linval delivered a string of classic hits that we have compiled for you here. At the time, I hadn't experienced a real rave, and my exposure to the culture was limited to the information I could find on the early internet. This audio trip is provided for you by Erika Halliday an artist hailing from Argentinian capital Buenos Aires. She has provided four original cuts for our listening pleasure in her dark flavored signature electro house vibe. The EP is named after a late-night show “El Club de los Desvelados” airing in Argentina in 2017 and has this nocturnal flavor throughout the vinyl as the show did. The four tracks are stylistically gluing together well and are displaying the passage into the artist’s skill and the vision of music. It is an honor to welcome Erika to the label with this masterfully crafted disc absolutely in line with the label’s aesthetic and vision. Let’s all have a conversation together into the late night with loosing track of time in “El Club de los Desvelados” style.

On Biotope, Valentino Mora ventures even further from the dancefloor, delving into a rich, psychoacoustic realm shaped by modular and spectral synthesis. Built primarily around the Rossum Panharmonium, a module that analyzes and re-synthesizes audio into evolving harmonic clusters in real time, the album conjures an imagined ecosystem, where sound behaves with the logic and fluidity of organic life. Eschewing traditional field recordings, Mora instead sculpts textures and gestures that feel deeply natural yet are entirely synthetic. Inspired by elements such as soil composition, air, humidity, light, temperature, and the chemical properties of both land and aquatic environments and the living creatures that inhabit them, the soundscapes emerge as a kind of sonic biology. The result is a collection of slow-moving, tension-laden compositions that blur the boundaries between physical sensation and abstract design. Biotope unfolds like a closed ecosystem: modular synthesis treated as a breathing entity, shaped by resonance, friction, and organic motion. It embodies a kind of mystical biology, where textures mimic living forms, and frequencies pulse with intent. This is music to be felt as much as heard, Biotope invites you to listen with your skin, not just your ears.

After a long hiatus, artist Yu returns with a new EP featuring four tracks in which he has finally been able to fully express his vision of sound. The album features hypnotic rhythms that move from dark atmospheres to moments of light, alternating between darker sounds and more lively and happy moments. Definitely suitable for the dance floor, but with emotional aspects that make each track a complete experience for the listener.

With its 10th edition, Dalmata Daniel's split series brings together two artists who have both left their mark on the label's compilations, now presenting their first full releases on the imprint. Anatolian Weapons and The Spy approach electronic music from different angles, one rooted in hypnotic techno rituals, the other in raw electro and post-punk energy. Both craft sounds that thrive in the shadows of the dancefloor.

On the A-side, Anatolian Weapons delivers three cold, hypnotic cuts. "Trapped" opens with heavy EBM percussion and a buzzkill bassline, setting a tense, mechanical tone. "Further Spiralling Down" sinks deeper into darkness with a grinding low end, tight drums, and electro-tinged claps, forming the side's relentless highlight. "Apathy Through Shock" closes with pounding, catatonic rhythms and a mournful, otherworldly melody, pushing the listener into disorienting depths.

Flipping over, The Spy's raw, electro-driven energy takes hold. "Same Blur" channels sharp electro beats with a punkish sneer and cosmic synth lines. "Falling", featuring The Spy's own vocals, leans into melancholic new wave, pairing bouncy rhythms with bittersweet melodies. The closing "Pretending" drifts into the darkest corners, offering low-slung, haunted electro layered with distant, spectral harmonies.

Sex Tapes From Mars sister imprint, Hot Plates turns to junglist misbehaving, with chopped and screwed, pitched down and twitchin’ vocals, merging with ragga choruses. It’s hardwired to the dance but swerving every expectation - soulful chants spiral out like smoke in UV, tangled in a fever dream of gun finger pressure and rewound fragments.

The flip is driven by a deep, bellowing bassline, paired with ominous yet soaring strings. Each part contradicts the next, but somehow it holds, glued together with that early jungle lawlessness. Still sounds raw, still sounds vital - as grittily dangerous now as it was in ‘93.

The original release came as a limited white label 32 years ago, now grailed and silly bob on ‘cogs, lovingly remastered and cut loud, restoring the bite while adding clarity and bottom-end heft that rattles ribs.

With the planet in free fall and the dance scattered, the sentiment hits harder: “All we need now is love and unity”.

DAYBREAKERS return with Volume 2 of their Music Station Traxx series, following the success of the first dive into Jeffrey Collins’ revered 90s imprint from Englewood, New Jersey.

Originally released in 1994, this four-tracker is a masterclass in soulful, spiritual, and uncompromisingly deep club music, and hasn’t seen a proper reissue until now. detectionaudio presents its first excursion as a label entity to ignite a new direction for the imprint. DET001 is produced by UK artist 'Hardacre', and the London man delivers a twisted four-tracker that promises peak-time potency and maximum mind expansion. The 'Destination EP' is a dark and system-crushing statement of intent. Hardacre draws upon heavy influences from halcyon UK underground past eras, whilst firmly exerting a forward-thinking and authoritative sound that pushes all the boundaries of Acid, Breaks and Electro. Expect robust drum-play, warped synth-lines and interplanetary soundscapes.

Monologues Records continues its 10th anniversary celebration with a collection of some magical balmy blissed-out Balearic grooves from its catalogue. Label boss Ben Gomori's 'Inside Melody' featuring Daisybelle makes it onto wax after being the lead single from his debut album 'Collapsing Time', Laurence Guy's first ever EP puts in a shift with the hazy 'Sunlite', Gomori remixes Danish prodigy Ghosten's melancholic 'Abandoned Planet' in euphoric piano house style, and Glasgow dons Manakinz (aka Sub Club / Subculture legend Harri and Max Raskin) do their chuggy thing on the spinge-tingling throbber 'Electric Bob'.

The Knowledge Imprint 'Selected Reissues' series brings together handpicked tracks from the label's back catalogue to be pressed for the first time on high quality vinyl. Previously available only as digital and small-batch dubplate editions, these tracks will also be given new life with fresh remastering and simple repackaging.

This second release of the edition brings together a collection of standout tracks that have been highly requested on vinyl since their initial releases between 5 and 7 years ago. Yant & William Arist's tracks were the foundation of the 10th label release back in 2020, while label-owner Deano's track 'Tension' was largely responsible for putting the label on the radar in 2018. VIL's 'Golpe de Estado' taken from the label's first VA back in 2019 closes the package.

A meticulously-crafted 4-tracker imbued with menace and urgent, late nite throb, it’s precisely the spiralling, nocturnal kinda style that has become his hallmark. Streetwise, upfront and packing a sizeable amount of f*ck-off NRG.

Expect noirish, night-stalking rave suspense and hardware-fuelled, high-velocity torque. Best heard in the company of shadow-dwelling spectres, or perhaps, at the event horizon of a black hole.

DJ tools reveal greater depth and nuance upon closer inspection, and disembodied vocals lure inquisitive ears deep into the dream state. Finely measured throughout, it’s a masterful balance between functionality and full-blown dancefloor immersion, all courtesy of a fella at the top of his game.

A1 - Course Of Action
Opening the EP with a thoroughly entertaining, unique breakbeat workout of the ilk we've come to appreciate from Eusebeia, we are treated to sharp snares ripping into the mix backed by a lethal apache break dripping with old school appeal. An ever-evolving atmosphere is guided by intense vocal samples and shimmering synth backdrops, interspersed with intense melodies and darkly effects to complete a mesmerising collage of sound.

A2 - Embracing Imperfection
Next up we see Embracing Imperfection, a sci-fi inspired track littered with a detailed myriad of synthwave-esque melodies, transporting you to an ethereal episode of the X Files as Eusebeia flexes atmosphere and breaks intertwined with synths and whooshing FX. The breaks are superbly effective as ever with distinctive cymbal hits and echoed samples adding flecks of detail to an impressive composition.

AA1 - Point Of Isolation
A tense introduction punctuated by a reverberating melody evoking enigmatic mystery slowly unfolds, as Point of Isolation displays Eusebeia's diverse repertoire of breakbeat editing techniques. Darting metallic snares and deep kicks & basslines ebb and flow, a tangled maze of rippling energy lifted straight from the soul. This track is equally suited to the headphones and the dancefloor, causing ructions to both.

AA2 - Soul Searching
Closing the EP, Soul Searching sees Eusebeia release a gradually enveloping system of seductive breakbeats, twisting and intertwining with a whole host of vivid soundscapes delivered through pulsing synthwork and jostling micro-melodies. Throughout the track, the distinctively thick breaks are the true star of the show, encompassing the sensibilities of Spatial perfectly. Until the next time.

Bad Brains is the self-titled debut studio album recorded by American hardcore punk/reggae band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on (then) cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as "The Yellow Tape" because of it's yellow packaging. Though Bad Brains had recorded the 16 song Black Dots album in 1979 and the 5-song Omega Sessions EP in 1980, the ROIR cassette was the band's first release of anything longer than a single. The release includes the original liner notes by Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo. This reissue marks the second release in the remaster campaign on the band's own Bad Brains Records imprint with Org Music. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering.

Rock for Light is the second full-length album by Bad Brains, released in 1983. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. We're proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.

The Netherlands Dennis Quin makes a welcome return to Kaoz Theory this September with ‘New York To Amsterdam’, featuring one collaboration with the legendary Mr. V and accompanied by remixes from Rotterdam’s underground royalty, Benny Rodrigues. Dutch house maestro Dennis Quin returns to Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory imprint with a brand-new EP, reaffirming his position as one of Europe’s most consistent purveyors of groove-led, rhythm-driven house music. With a career spanning acclaimed releases on PIV, Beeyou, Dungeon Meat and on his own label Eardrums, Quin’s work seamlessly bridges deep house heritage with contemporary dancefloor energy.

Opening the EP, ‘New York Accent’ sets the tone with a classic New York house vibe—raw drums, choppy chords, and snippets of street-level vocal samples. ‘Hard Days Work’ dives deeper into house territory with shimmering piano keys, dreamy chord progressions, and crisp percussion layered with twitchy synths, sax flourishes, and soulful vocal hooks. Next up, ‘My Amsterdam Legacy ft Mr. V’, Quin tells us “My Amsterdam legacy tells the story from hitting the clubs in the early ’90s as a House music loving teenager to rocking stages worldwide right now. Mr. V captures that journey in a track that’s as soulful as it is raw. It’s my past, present, and future all in one”. Rounding off the release, Benny Rodrigues reworks ‘New York Accent’, retaining its essence while injecting his signature rhythmic grit and intricate dynamism.
