Across the arc of Tristan Allen’s epiphanic, four part journey, Tin Iso and the Dawn, the New York based composer and puppeteer brings sonic life to a fantastical realm of characters whose universal longings mirror our own. In the first release of this mythic trilogy, intricate sound design and spellbinding leitmotifs make sense of loss and what’s beyond.

Formative exposures by way of travel through Asia, studies in Gamelan, a paper mache Christmas angel, and their dad’s Bread and Puppet Theater artifacts formed a web of inspiration from which Tristan’s desire to combine puppetry and their fascination for the narrative power of instrumental music emerged. Years of synchronistic inspirational encounters with “guardian angels” in the form of music mentors and puppeteer masters incentivized Tristan to pursue a project where they could focus on sound and diverse instrumentation.

Through this impulse, Tristan ceremoniously constructed the imaginary world of Tin Iso and the Dawn, loosely based on Wagner’s three act opera Tristan und Isolde. Composed and recorded between 2015 and 2022 across apartments from Boston to Brooklyn, with field recordings from locations of vivid sentiment: Upstate New York—where Tristan grew up, Quebec—where most of their close family lives, and Japan—where they lived briefly as a child, each moment of Tin Iso glimmers with nostalgic immediacy and the prescience of new voyages unfolding.

Sophie Lloyd returns to Luke Solomon’s imprint alongside the effervescent singer songwriter Amy Douglas for a wax release of ‘Sweet Love’, an anthemic disco release bursting with sensuality. The pair are well known to Classic fans; Sophie for her debut release, ‘Calling Out’ with Detroit trio Dames Brown, and her subsequent release ‘Angels By My Side’ which received a soulful remix package from Floorplan.

Additionally, nostalgic house vocals from Brooklyn’s Amy Douglas have appeared on tracks from Luke Solomon’s ‘Love. Hope. Happiness’ to Horse Meat Disco’s ‘Message To The People’, also featuring the Dames. For the Love Hangover mix of ‘Sweet Love’, a slow, intoxicating intro erupts in a burst of energy as Amy’s vocals and Sophie’s production come together for an ambitious, driving composition.

The vinyl also features a remix from the label boss himself; Luke Solomon’s Always Love Revision of this modern disco anthem ups the ante, adding huge swathes of energy to the previously sensual record. Similarly, the Sweet Lovin’ Mix capitalises on the raucous finale from the original Love Hangover Mix.

Jean-Jacques Milteau gilt seit den 1980er Jahren als der beste Blues Harp-Spieler Frankreichs. 2001 reiste er in die oft als Wiege des Blues bezeichnete Stadt Memphis in Tennessee, um dort mit international bekannten Größen der lokalen Szene dieses erstaunliche Album einzuspielen. After re-signing to Nuclear Blast in early 2021, the Finnish heavy metal sextet BATTLE BEAST are once again getting ready to unleash their force upon the world in the shape of their brand new masterpiece »Circus Of Doom«. The album is set to be released on January 21st 2022 via Nuclear Blast and in true BATTLE BEAST fashion, the 10 tracks blend true heavy metal with pop and rock-vibes, paired with Noora Louhimo’s unique voice. »Circus Of Doom« was once again recorded at JKB Studios in Helsinki, Finland and produced and mixed by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, while the stunning artwork was created by Jan Yrlund (KORPIKLAANI, MANOWAR etc.), who already took care of BATTLE BEAST’s previous two album designs.

Having only formed in 2008, BATTLE BEAST first signed a record deal with the renowned German metal label Nuclear Blast in 2011. The release of their acclaimed debut »Steel« (2012), won the band a support slot for their labelmates NIGHTWISH. Frontwoman Noora Louhimo finally joined the band in 2012 and the band’s self-titled record (2013) was released shortly afterwards. The xx existieren in einem selbstkreierten Kosmos. Ihr Debütalbum "xx" bewegte sich mit wundersamer Vollkommenheit zwischen Vieldeutigkeit und Reduktion. Während weiterhin Spuren von R&B im Sound von The xx zu finden sind, ist ein vermehrter Einfluss von elektronischer Musik spürbar. In Romys Loop-artigem Gitarrenspiel und den entsprechenden Basslines spiegelt sich dieser Aspekt. Alles in allem ist "Coexist" ein selbstbewusstes, erwachsenes Album geworden, auf dem sich wenig und doch zugleich vieles geändert ändert. Stevie Ray Vaughan's third studio album Soul To Soul was released in 1985, just two years after his massive debut Texas Flood. Moving more into a soulful R&B-tinged blues sound, Stevie included two new band members on keyboard and saxophone for Soul To Soul. The band know their way around a number of cover versions of songs penned by Hank Ballard, Doyle Bramhall, and Willie Dixon, bringing a variety of influences into SRV's brand of modern blues. His own compositions such as “Say What”, “Ain't Gone 'N' Give Up On Love” and “Life Without You” reveal an artist that is ever passionate in delivering real blues, and growing in his songwriting at the same time.

Worriers' new album Trust Your Gut is what happens when a queer Springsteen sleeper cell emerges to throw an indie rock house party. It’s the opening scene of Empire Records if it were soundtracked by Frightened Rabbit. It’s about yearning for a better self when you constantly feel neither here nor there. While that isn’t entirely about their gender, it’s absolutely a part of songwriter Lauren Denitzio’s lived experience as a millennial. After Worriers released an album the same week as the 2020 lockdown - and after a history of what can only be described as music industry slapstick comedy - Denitzio rebuilt their songwriting practice from scratch. Armed with a small artist grant, new collaborators, and a lot of time on their hands, Trust Your Gut was written by taking everything apart and putting it back together again. The album was written and arranged with drummer Atom Willard (Against Me!, Angels & Airwaves), pianist Franz Nicolay (The Hold Steady), and guitarist Frank Piegaro who joined the band in 2019. Following two albums and an EP fronting Portland's most beloved "psychedelic doom boogie" bar band TK & The Holy Know-Nothings, Taylor Kingman returns with 'Hollow Sound', his first solo album since 2017’s 'Wannabe'. The album finds Kingman soaking his darker, more ruminative solo material in a starkly expansive, minimalist sound bath. 'Hollow Sound' was recorded in his childhood home, a hundred-year-old Oregon schoolhouse. It was engineered to tape by Ryan Oxford (Y La Bamba) as Kingman, guitarist Jon Neufeld (Martha Scanlan), bassist Jeff Leonard (Fruition), and pedal steel player Jason Montgomery (Barna Howard) performed the songs live in a half-circle.

Elysian Park is a slice of unaffected paradise found in downtown Los Angeles. Home to countless birds and (what feels like) infinite layers of greenery, the park plays the role of muse for tstewart’s 21 track album, Elysian. With each track named after his favourite nooks of the Elysian, tstewart likens his crescendos to the grand, never-ending steps found just before the park. As the new project from tstewart (aka MachineDrum), the artist whose credits include Azealia Banks and A$AP FERG, he has signed to Mercury KX with a diverse, piano-led sound that juxtaposes his previous glitchy, pop-fused work.

Die massive Produktion von "Beyond Acheron" stammt von TEMPLE OF DREADs Schlagzeuger Jörg Uken, der in seinem weit bekannten Soundlodge Tonstudio unter anderem bereits Alben von DEW-SCENTED, GOD DETHRONED, OBSCENITY, SUICIDAL ANGELS und WARPATH aufgenommen hat. TEMPLE OF DREAD wurden auf Spiekeroog im Jahr 2017 von Gitarrist Markus Bünnemeyer als Ventil für seine Old School Death Metal Ambitionen gegründet. Im Jahr 2018 stießen Sänger Jens Finger und Schlagzeuger Jörg Uken dazu, mit denen Bünnemeyer auch bei Slaughterday aktiv war. Mirai is a 2018 Japanese animated adventure fantasy comedy film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu (known for Belle, Wolf Children and The Boy and the Beast). The film stars the voices of Moka Kamishiraishi, Haru Kuroki and Gen Hoshino a.o. It was met with critical acclaim and became nominated for an Academy Award in 2019 for Best Animated Feature Film. Additionally, the movie received an Annie Award in the same year.

Mirai follows the story of a four-year-old boy named Kun whose world is turned upside down when he meets his new baby sister. After venturing into a magical garden, Kun encounters strange guests from the past and future, including his sister Mirai, as a teenager. Together, Kun and teenage Mirai go on a journey through time and space, uncovering their family's incredible story.

The soundtrack for the film was written by Masakatsu Takagi, who had previously scored Hosoda's Wolf Children and The Boy and the Beast. His work for Studio Chizu has been praised for its magical and whimsical atmosphere. For Mirai specifically, this dreamy aesthetic was mixed with a contemporary sound and made to be simple in tone and be reflective of family.

Im Frühling 2023 ging Angelo Kelly gemeinsam mit dem Multiinstrumentalisten Matthias Krauss auf „MIXTAPE Tour Vol.3“. Die Resonanz war riesig und die Songauswahl war wieder mal sehr überraschend! Was das MIXTAPE Konzept ausmacht ist, wie die Beiden es schaffen aus Liedern, die man schon kennt, ganz andere Versionen zu schaffen. Die Songs haben alle eine sehr persönliche Note und sind nicht nur anders, um anders zu klingen. „Titanium“ von David Guetta in dieser Form zu hören, macht einem erstmal bewusst, was in so einem Dance Track drinsteckt, „Angels“ von Robbie Williams ist nicht so einfach zu covern, aber bei dieser Version bekommt man direkt Gänsehaut!

Mit „My Hero“ und „Sweet Child Of Mine“ wird die Bühne gerockt! Einen ’Iron Maiden’ Song hätten wohl die wenigsten erwartet, aber die Version von „Wasted Years“ wird bestimmt einige dazu bringen, sich das Original anzuhören. Bei den insgesamt 18 Songs gibt es ein paar Lieder wie „Purple Rain“ und „Who Wants To Live Forever“ wo man zuerst denkt: ‚Das kann man gar nicht covern.’ Es sind aber genau diese Stücke, die einen umhauen und zeigen welche Freiheit sich Angelo Kelly mit seinem MIXTAPE Konzept nimmt. Grossartig! MIXTAPE Live Vol. 3 erscheint als CD in einem schönen Digipack Design. Das Highlight ist aber ganz klar die Vinyl Edition. 2 x Splattered Vinyl in einem Gatefold und dann gibt es ein wunderschönes 8 Seiten großes Booklet mit Tourfotos und persönlichen Geschichten von Angelo zu jedem der Songs.

Fonseca is the son of a Senegalese mother and a father from Cape Verde. Hence the Portuguese sounding name: Louis Vera Da Fonseca.

In the 1950s, he founded the group Les Anges Noirs (The Black Angels) in Brussels, named after the Brussels club in the Boomkwekerijstraat, which quickly became very popular in Belgium, Africa, and the West Indies. The famous Manu Dibango was even musical director and pianist there for a period. Manu Dibango would later become one of the emblematic figures of African music. Soon Fonseca was nicknamed “the King of Afro-Cuban rhythm”.

After several great successes from the early sixties to 1968, Fonseca suddenly disappeared from the music scene in the late 60's. Whether he died in 1970, as can be read on some sites, cannot be said with certainty.

The self-titled album Fonseca Et Ses Anges Noirs is available as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on translucent red coloured vinyl and includes an insert.

Boris und Uniform mögen wie ein seltsames Gespann gewirkt haben, als sie sich 2019 für eine US-Tournee zusammentaten. Sicher, beide Bands nutzen die Kraft großer, explosiver Riffs, aber Boris' Rock-Heldentum, lysergische Ausbreitung und monolithischer Sludge beschwören eine andere Energie herauf als Uniforms mechanisierte Bombardements und rasende Angriffe. Bright New Disease beginnt mit der ersten Single „You're the Beginning“, einem wilden Thrash-Banger aus dem Boris-Lager. Von dort aus setzt das Album seinen unerbittlichen Angriff mit „Weaponized Grief“ fort, einem fiebrigen Mashup aus japanischem D-Beat und Boredoms' absichtlich unpassenden Klangtexturen. Es gibt keinen Moment, um die Trümmer zu sichten, bevor die Bands mit „No“ beginnen, einer bewussten Anspielung auf die japanische Hardcore-Hommage von Boris' 2020er Album NO. Entspannung kommt schließlich mit der eisigen Verstärkeranbetung von „The Look is a Flame", einem Song aus Boris' Feder, der Licht und Erlösung statt Düsternis und Grausamkeit beschwören soll. Verstärkt durch die kosmische Synthesizerarbeit von Randall Dunn und den ächzenden Bass von Steve Moore behält der Song das bedrohliche Timbre des Albums bei und deutet gleichzeitig die Möglichkeit der Erlösung an. Die Klangpalette des Albums wird in der zweiten Hälfte von Bright New Disease noch breiter, wie z. B. beim herausragenden Stück „Narcotic Shadow“. Mit Berdans modularen Synthesizer-Arpeggios, Boris' von Dark Wave/New Romantic inspiriertem Gesang und Greenbergs verzerrten Studiomanipulationen bietet der Song einen schäbigen und schwermütigen Kontrapunkt zu der ungezügelten Wut der ersten Hälfte des Albums. In ähnlicher Weise ist „A Man From the Earth“ weniger auf Katharsis als vielmehr auf eine düstere, tiefrote Interpretation von David Bowies Glam-Jahren fixiert. Aber diese Abweichungen dienen nur dazu, den Albumabschluss und die zweite Single „Not Surprised“ noch düsterer, qualvoller und erschütternder zu machen.

It's a Man’s World achieved Top Ten and Gold status in the UK, and featured the singles “Walking in Memphis,” “One by One,” “Not Enough Love in the World,” “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” and “Paradise Is Here”. The album was supported by numerous remixes of the singles, and a selection of these remixes are included together for the first time on new physical and digital products. None of the remixes have previously been made available physically, and only one of the remixes is available digitally in the US.
