After a duo of floor-stomping releases, Rhythm by Nature is back for its third release with one of the most prolific producers in the game — Tommy Vicari Jnr. The Sheffield-based musician went from being an enigmatic figure to becoming a true example of musical discipline, boasting a seemingly endless musical output under several aliases. With "Francis Bacon Size Hangover EP," Vicari presents a diverse four-track EP that showcases his ability to traverse various soundscapes without ever losing grip on rhythm.

'Francis Bacon Size Hangover' (A1) opens the EP in pure Vicari style, plunging atmospheric dub-infused pads, delayed drums and competently edited vocal breaks on a cosmos of shifting sound signatures. The result is an infectious dance floor weapon drenched in mind-boggling groove with funky, light-hearted undertones. 'B Doll' (A2) goes a bit jazzier, delivering an analogue-driven, breakbeat-tinted track with intricate percussion and deep, resonant synth work. B1: "Newdays" finds Vicari immersing himself in the essence of house music, powerfully rooted in Chicago's disco and proto-house aesthetics: punchy drums and propulsive basslines keep the track in constant motion while atmospheric textures forge an irresistible soundscape of skillfully layered, ingeniously sampled sounds. Originally crafted in 2004, 'Vommer' (B2) closes the EP by showcasing Vicari's longstanding dedication to his craft — a slow-burning, minimalistic dub track that's as beautifully understated as it is gracefully spaced out.

Somewhere between Solid State Survivor, Force Majeure and Danzindan-Pojidon you’ll find Shinichi Omata’s Boku ・ Neko ・ Platanus. Or rather you won’t – throughout his captivating debut from 1984, reissued by chOOn!! in 2022, you’ll hear connections to other music but its unique unbridled will keeps pushing those references out of mind.

Shinichi Omata is a fascinating figure – an unsung hero of early Japanese electronic music who between 1981–84 recorded three albums of incredible DIY techno-pop while studying as a student in Tokyo. At University, Omata worked and collaborated as a sitar player and keyboardist with artists such as Hiroko Yoshihara, Takami, DEA and various members of the LLE music circle, where he developed an expressive fusion of minimal synth and psychedelia.

This selection, lovingly extracted from Omata’s unreleased early recorded output, dating from 1981’s Neo Modernism through to 1983's With My Dog Ricky, demonstrates just how closely he clung to the original abstract ideal of moulding 8-bit bleeps and ungainly drum patterns into lo-fi triumphalism. On paper you wouldn’t give this aesthetic clash a pass were it not for the aural evidence of a unique sensibility, precociously openminded and visionary, charmingly transparent in respect of its influences yet possessed of a need for individuality.

Throughout this kaleidoscopic collection, all the ghost plastic in Omata’s head, Kosmische synthesis, synth-funk squiggles, arcade games and early Ambient is thrown together, reimagined and regarded affectionately – through a glass lightly, so to speak. Beneath the pulsing arpeggiated bleeps, Omata’s compositions show a remarkable economy and poise hinting at European classical influences - like a reimagining of Erik Satie’s piano miniatures that swaps 19th century Parisian boulevards for Tokyo’s 1980s technopolis. The music is sheer skin- puckering delight throughout, a delirious, mesmeric collage of dark disco bubblegum and eccentrically enchanting atmospheres that you cannot quite believe you’ve never heard before.

Available for the first time on vinyl, With My Dog Ricky: The Early Works of Shinichi Omata 1981-1983 is a vivid selection of synth miniatures lovingly extracted from Omata’s unreleased early recorded output.

CVP is a side project of three Greek musicians Costas Andriopoulos (producer and keyboard player of “23rd Underpass”), Vicky Archontouli (singer of “VHS”) and Panos Papapetros (guitarist of “Noely Rayn” and “VHS”). CVP means “Central Venous Project” but it also hides the initial letters of the band members’ first names (Costas, Vicky, Panos). Being huge lovers of the 80’s, the threesome wrote their first songs in an “early 80’s Electropop Italo Disco” style, blended with the dark atmosphere of Costas Andriopoulos’ productions.

Afterhours. continues its quest for exquisitely crafted minimal dance music and welcomes young talent Aron for its seventh release. "Limbic" features three original dancefloor cuts and a groove-focused remix by Arno, Pressure Trax's head honcho.

The "Limbic" EP starts with 'Prawn Repetitions' (A1), immediately locking the listener into a seemingly endless loop of stomping sub-bass, slippery drums, snipped chords and a mantra-like vocal stating "I'm a Shrimp" just enough times to hypnotize. 'Inverse Perspective' (A2) strips down the sonic space to focus on micro/macro rhythms, leaving just enough room for its haunting atmospheric pads to cut through. The track title "Limbic" (B1) is as wacky as it is catchy. Its sound design feels alien, not only in its wobbliness but also in the type of vocal snippets used and overall aesthetic graininess; yet, it remains highly stomping and dancefloor appropriate, with its second part elevated, and humanized, by (very) human melodies. Arno's Remix of "Limbic" (B2) deconstructs its every element, grounding the alien elements into a groove-centered, drum-machine-driven composition that embraces the harmonious aspects of the original without ever losing pace on its (very) insistent bass pattern.

Between the acoustic and the electronic, the four-by-fours and the breakbeat, Aron's tracks are as trippy as they are soulful: dense and detailed tracks with enough forward momentum to keep any room moving.

ER gladly welcomes Juan Barraco aka Bunda to our catalog. Bunda is an Uruguayan producer/live performer who’s been linked to music since a young age through a classical approach with a later interest into electronic music production.

Origen EP is his debut vinyl release delivering a solid four-tracks record: dancefloor-oriented pieces on each side’s first half and two downtempo tracks as second choices.
A1 ‘No hay salida’ is a proper dancefloor piece featuring a stomper and sticky kick drum along with a non-stop bassline hypnotic pulse. A2 ‘9º Mandamiento’ features a different sound landscape with a hint of Arabic melodies in synths and basslines programming.

On the flip side B1 ‘Stardust’ crafts a more sci-fi-bleepy grooving Techno sound while keeping an hypnotical atmosphere all along. Bunda shows a different facet in B2 with ‘Xep Nuit’, where he shows his skills and creativity in musical composition and sound picking.

Berlin-based Small Great Things boss Luca Olivotto inaugurates his new sub-label At A Glance imprint this August with his own ‘Over & Out’ EP, comprising four original cuts.

Born and raised in Italy before relocating to Berlin in 2015, Luca Olivotto has since become a staple of the underground House scene in recent years through the establishment of his Small Great Things imprint and accompanying events series Small Great House. Now Luca marks another new chapter in his career with the launch of his new sub label of Small Great Things, At A Glance, kicking off with a project from the man himself.

Title-track ‘Over & Out’ leads with Olivotto offering up a classic slice of House via a Hammond organ bass groove, choppy chords and cinematic strings, underpinned by crisp raw drums and soulful vocal lines.

‘Brace D’ then shifts gears towards a Disco House tinged aesthetic with guitar licks, bell chimes and tension building strings ebbing and flowing amongst fluttering bass notes, airy chords and swinging percussion.

Up next on the B-side is ‘I’m Gonna Stay’, a groove-drive House track fuelled by an amalgamation of intertwined chords and vocals which steadily build towards a jazzy, atmospheric breakdown before the bouncy groove kicks back in to carry out the rest of the composition.

‘World Wide’ then concludes the release on a deeper tip with hazy keys and pad swells floating atop organic percussion, organ tones and a bouncy bass line.

Welcome to Aqualaxy, a collaborative project where Warning joins forces with art historian C.C. McKee from Philadelphia and international queer activist dia_shi from Berlin. Accompanying McKee’s book on the debut album by late-90s electronic pop band Aqua, Aqualaxy is a compilation of contemporary queer artists from North America and Europe commissioned to create their own takes on songs from Aqua's debut album. The result is an expansive blossoming variety of music, from sizzling trance pop, to eerie darkwave atmospheres, to cheeky dancefloor weapons.

With Aqualaxy, Warning presents a release that playfully deviates from the label's usual tracks, highlights trans musicians, and offers fresh takes on nostalgic favourites to the community. Embrace Aqualaxy’s endless fluidity, a space where everything becomes possible, where some changes aren’t even a second thought. Did you know that when the kobudai reef fish reaches a certain size she changes her sex from female to male? Did you know that when the largest female in a school of Clownfish dies the male swaps sex to take her place? Protogyny, protandry, it all just seems like fun; not to mention the host of genders and ways of fucking we don’t even have words for as humans! In Aqualaxy, everything is possible under the water. Guidance is the new label from Bay B Kane (Ruff Guidance) and Kniteforce Records. The follow up to "I See The Rain" featured Bay B Kane on a slightly more introspective tip. Alpine Echo is hauntingly beautiful, with eastern leaning vocals playing over beautiful strings and a euphoric, thoughtful atmosphere. The drums and bass are of course perfectly executed. Meanwhile, When Tears Fall is a wonderful rolling jungle workout, with gorgeous vocals and dance friendly drums!

Ilian Tape have tapped up Jichael Mackson here for a double album of expressive and forward thinking electronic sounds. The atmosphere generally futuristic and intriguing, with tracks like 'Shangri La' riding on gentle breakbeats amongst air pads, 'Banana Jazz (Quartett)' is a high speed and live sounding jazz-breakbeat workout, 'A Jichalicious Something' is dubby and IDM inflected lushness and 'Good Morning Sunshine' is an interplanetary trip with distant cosmic pads and organic piano chords soothing mind, body and soul.

Review: Sade's Lovers Rock marks a significant evolution in the band's sound and image. Departing from their signature luxuriance, the album embraces a sparser, knottier sound that beautifully balances past influences with contemporary trends. Adu's vocals, thick and low as ever, blend seamlessly into the breezy landscape of acoustic guitar, reggae bass, and simple percussion, creating an atmosphere of understated sensuality. The album's themes range from new love to motherhood to societal issues, showcasing Adu's lyrical prowess and her ability to navigate the complexities of human emotions. Lovers Rock also pays homage to the cultural influence of Caribbean Britishness, both in its title and its musical style, adding depth to Sade's sonic palette. While the album was released amid a pop landscape dominated by shiny, slick productions, Sade remained true to their sound, avoiding obvious trends and opting for a more introspective approach. Fast ein Jahrzehnt hat sich Jamie xx seit Veröffentlichung seines Solodebüts Zeit gelassen. „In Waves“, das zweite Album des Londoners, der mit seiner Band The xx zu den prägendsten Figuren der jüngeren Musikgeschichte gehört. Erneut lässt er seiner Liebe zur elektronischen Musik freien Lauf und entwirft die Geschichte einer Nacht, in der man in den himmlischen Puls von Schatten, Licht und Dancefloor-Rhythmen hinabtaucht.



“In Waves” hat seinen Ursprung in einem Mix, den Jamie 2020 für BBC Radio 1 machte. Hier tauchten neben Tracks der aktuellen Generation an UK-Dancemusic auch diverse musikalische Helden auf, etwa Roy Ayers, Fela Kuti, Tom Zé oder Philip Glass. Auch erste Versionen von Songs, die nun auf dem Album erscheinen werden, waren zu hören. “Es erinnerte mich daran, warum ich diese Musik liebe“, so Jamie, der zuvor lange mit der Frage gehadert hatte, wie es für ihn weitergehen würde. “Ich fand einfach Spaß am kreativen Prozess, ohne dabei an ein Ergebnis zu denken.“



Jamie xx pflügt auf „In Waves“ durch die Subgenres und Dekaden und fügt Northern Soul, Disco, Garage, Acid House, Techno, Tropicalia. Hip-Hop, Funk und den Sound der UK Underground Pirate Radios zusammen. Die kleinen Momente sind dabei so eindrucksvoll wie das übergreifende Ganze. Etwa jener Part bei “Treat Each Other Right“, der parallel zum Album-Announcement erscheinenden neuen Single: Zunächst wird man herausgerissen aus dem breiten Breakbeat-meets-Future-Soul-Vehikel, um sich mit den gepitchten Motown-Vocals plötzlich im Mittelwellenradio der 60er wiederzufinden. Die Worte “I’ll never let you down“ werden in die Ewigkeit gezogen, bevor ein biepender Puls über atmosphärischen Synths einsetzt und man direkt zurückgeführt wird in die schweißnasse Katharsis des Dancefloors.



Im Zeitalter der Algorithmen ist “In Waves” Zeugnis für pure menschliche Empfindung, ein lebensbejahendes Gegengift, das über den Kopfhörer in eine andere Dimension führt und zugleich gemeinsam auf der Tanzfläche erlebt werden will. It's our great pleasure to welcome Spanish duo NX1 back onto the label following their Earwiggle debut in 2019. Much has changed in the world since then but in the world of NX1, Samot and Surit's commitment to tense sonic combat remains resolute. The "Shaked Ear" EP is some of their most accomplished work to date, and a fresh follow-up to their recent debut album on Nexe Records. Raw acid lines, earth-shaking bleeps, fizzing distortion, murky vocals and a melange of sweeping kick patterns are just some of the key ingredients on display over this crushing 5-tracker. A Testament to Underground Electronic Music

Curated by Rinaldo Makaj, 432HERTZ Berlin's debut vinyl release is a powerful testament to the boundless creativity and diversity of underground electronic music.

On Savor Music 025, we summoned a fine selection of remixers to rework Franco Cinelli's "Tracks from the Vault Part 2."

"Tribute To Miles Davis," where Cinelli merges jazz and electronic elements into a hypnotic sonic journey was reinterpreted by Chicago Legend DJ Jes adding a trippier, loose house interpretation, infusing the track with an extra jazzy twist while maintaining its original spirit. Pablo Minuto & Guillermo de Caminos made a minimalistic take on the same cut, transforming the track into a groovy, hypnotic experience with a focus on rhythmic and atmospheric elements.

"Electronic Funk" original’s pulsating bassline, crisp percussion, and intertwining synth melodies are further enriched in Jorge Savoretti’s remix, which introduces an extra layer of synth action, giving the track’s a deeper interpretation.

Russian Circles kehrt mit einer Wiederveröffentlichung ihres legendären Albums Empros zurück, komplett mit einem neu gestalteten, geprägten Klappcover, erhältlich auf klassisch schwarzem Vinyl. Empros machte da weiter, wo die hymnischen Riffs und Melodien des 2009er Albums Geneva aufgehört haben, und injiziert noch mehr schleppende Rhythmen inmitten von Schädel-zerschmetternder Wucht mit der ganzen viszeralen Intensität von Godflesh, Swans und Neurosis. Einfach ausgedrückt: Empros ist Russian Circles' Master of Reality: eine radikale Überarbeitung von sowohl Heavy als auch Melodie, die in ihrer Klarheit und Perfektion monolithisch ist. Oder, wie ein einzelnes überlebendes Wolltier, das aus dem brutalen Frost des Winters auftaucht, ist Empros der Sound einer Band, die das Alter von ihren Schultern schüttelt, mit all der brutalen Kraft eines erwachten Ungetüms. Seit jeher arbeiten Mike, Dave und Brian an derselben Statue. Sie meißeln, sie schlagen, sie hämmern auf sie ein. Manchmal mit voller Wucht, manchmal sehr filigran. Die Meister monolithischer Melodien und monumentaler Rhythmen in absoluter Klarheit dargelegt, sind wieder am Werk. Mit "Empros" legen sie wieder ein Stück dieser gewaltigen Statue frei. Und vielleicht gibt es sogar ein paar Überraschungen in den sechs Tracks des Albums. Es gibt Riffs, ja - viele davon. Aber bei Empros scheint die gesamte Band die Verkörperung des Riffs selbst zu sein. Ediciones Villasonora’s sophomore release is “Laguna” by Phran. The Venezuelan lands on the southeastern Spanish label with a mini-album crafted in a marked personal approach, evident through six tracks combining dubbed atmospheres, broken percussive patterns, and warm analog textures—a sonic expedition bridging his intimate roots with an advanced sense of dance.

This dancefloor-centric release boasts five tracks designed to captivate with their powerful beats and deep vibes, perfect for the summer season. The EP showcases resident artists Nicole (Satz) and Carriego (Over think, Lirica Archives, Cosa Nostra), as well as Italian artist Mariiin (Pleasure Club), Uruguayan artist Alfalfa (Mephis Records), and French artist Sekance (3Mâts Records).



Embracing the fusion of sound and mysticism, the label aims to convey metaphysical and humanistic principles, promoting awakening and connection. Each EP in the series represents a spiritual journey through the chakras, with "Order Behind Chaos" focusing on the sacral chakra's orange hue, symbolizing creativity, emotional expression, and self-esteem.

Sasha returns with atmospheric gem 'How to Wear Raybans Well' Featuring remxes from heavyweights Roman Flügel and Nathan Fake.

Electronic luminary Sasha has had a busy 2024 that has so far yielded standout collaborations with the likes of Super Flu & Sentre and a solo single 'Florian Drift' that proves he remains at the cutting edge. His Last Night on Earth label continues to serve up a rich mix of melodic house and techno from the most exciting names in the scene and this latest solo single finds the boss head into new realms once more.

The superb 'How to Wear Raybans Well' is awash with fizzing dub chords and electric lines that flash about the mix. The deep rooted drums have a subtle bounce as they serve to sweep the floor off its feet and lock them into a state of melodic techno bliss.

First to remix is Nathan Fake, a UK talent who has always had his own unique sound. It's based on his mastery of synths and melody and has arrived on labels like Ninja Tune and Border Community as well as his own Cambria Instruments. His remix ups the ante and strips things away to bring more defined drums and crisp hits. The synths bring a range of emotions as they unfold with a mind of their own throughout this most captivating track.

Roman Flügel has been an ever present in the electronic world almost since the start. The German's output has covered endless ground from micro house to acid to techno on the most tasteful labels from his own Playhouse to Mule, Dial and Live At Robert Johnson. His remix is timeless surging techno that comes with waves of warming synths and unrelenting drum pressure designed for peak time dance floor wig-outs.

Soela is the DJ and production alias of Elina Shorokhova, a Russia-born Berlin-based experienced pianist and vocalist who has made a hugely impactful transition into electronic music. Having released material on such labels as Kompakt, Dial, Shall Not Fade, Lost Palms, E-Beamz, Red Ember Records, Sushitech, and others, Soela joins the ranks of Scissor & Thread for this exquisite album - Dark Portrait.
The album opens in a typically understated manner with Unsuitable - a melancholic trip-hop adjacent track that sets the tone for the next 8 pieces. As Soela explains, “I was dealing with some very complex feelings, so I came up with this album, which helped me not to despair, to work on myself, to grow internally, and to start listening to myself. It helped me to keep sane when my country invaded Ukraine with a full scale war. It absolutely broke my heart, and music was one of my main salvations.”
This complex mix of emotions plays out across the album with tracks that utilize her beautiful musicality (Through the Windows feat. Francis Harris and Philipp Priebe, Drowning feat. Heaven’s Chair is the musical collaboration of Jake Norris and Miles Smith from Naarm, Australia. The Australian duo debuts on their own newly established label, H.C.L, with “Trust,” an 8-track album. "Trust" was written and recorded during the winter of 2023 in isolation in deep rural Victoria. The seclusion in which the album was created is audibly reflected through a certain longing derived from idiosyncratic melodies and atmospheres. The album drifts between ambience and distorted club-ready cuts, yet remains melancholic throughout.

Brixton based polymath Simon Jefferis has been setting mouths ajar with his expertly crafted, atmosphere-heavy beats over the past few years. With his reputation as both a talented instrumentalist, and adaptive producer steadily circulating through the city’s hip-hop undercurrents, 2020 sees Jefferis return to rising label DeepMatter with his debut LP Vibrations.

From the golden era energies of ‘Back 2 Ours’ featuring Austin’s Abhi The Nomad, through to the silky-smooth melodies of ‘White Rabbit’ (featuring the incredible Rosie Lowe on vocals) and shoulder swaying rhythms of ‘Something In The Water’, ‘Vibrations’ is an expertly crafted production masterclass from start to finish. With ease, Jefferis demonstrates the breadth of his musical capabilities, turning his hand to guitar, keys, drums and bass (with a little help from his friends along the way) with incredible results. A veteran producer (Who prefers to separate this incarnation from past works) working within many disciplines in sound, Silent Cubes demonstrates a particular skill in atmospherics and mood in their productions, creating three tracks of original UKG driven sound that speak in a dialect as familiar to the progeny and brethren of Clubroot, Sorrow, and Congi as that of Chez Damier, Mr Fingers, and Ron Trent. The first contact is a common science fiction theme about the first meeting between humans and extraterrestrial life. The theme allows authors to explore a variety of philosophical concepts by adapting the anthropological topic of the first contact with extraterrestrial cultures. But then what are the Topics of a possible “Second Contact”? What would have happened to civilization if the extraterrestrial life force returns. Are they ready to greet it?

In this case, the second contact comes in the form of SEELEN. Label head and part-time intergalactic traveller Janein’s second full EP on the Imprint. And he hasn’t returned to take prisoners.

The Title track takes you for a wild ride from the second one. A warbling, acidic texture marks the foundation of what is an absolutely destructive and fiery cut. One of Janein’s heaviest percussion tracks to date takes the mood to an absolute frenzy while the acid-textures and metallic Chords can almost singe your eyebrows off if you get too close to the speaker.

In comparison, Gaja tones it down somewhat with mellower synths and an absolutely funky Bassline. But do not underestimate this track in comparison to Kobald M. This track will ensnare you into its hypnotic chokehold. It is the kind of cut you can play in any situation and not a single person will leave the dancefloor.

Meeting the Alien for a Parlay, translating its transmissions on this record are musical linguists Somewhen and Peryl.
While Somewhen has leaned into Kobald M’s destructive potential, adding a chaotic, out-for-madness kind of energy, that is sure to bring insanity to any warehouse, Peryl, known for his cathartic breakbeat excursions, has absolutely deconstructed Gaja making it into a track that sounds like the moment an unknown flying object enters the atmosphere of the earth.

He follows on from his sought after “New York Popcorn” EP with another atmospheric house and minimal exploration, laced with distinct rave energy. After a decade of redefining techno dance floors as AnD, Andrew Bowen returned to his experimental, hardware-focused roots as Slave To Society in October 2019. Since then he has seen his music released by highly revered institutions in the world of hard techno, noise, breakcore, IDM and industrial electronica, such as PRSPCT, Pure Hate, Ohm Resistance and BANK Records NYC. After forming a close connection to Natural Selection in recent years, Slave To Society returns to the London based imprint after releasing via their VA compilation 'NSUKR' with his track 'Tundra', followed by his remix of Kamikaze Space Programme's 'Dust To Dust' from his physical EP entitled, "Ashes to Ashes, Dust To Dust", released on Natural Selection in 2022.

In the form of a 4-track physical and digital EP, 'Ai Invasion' is a sonic exploration of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and technology.

Slave To Society uses carefully designed futuristic soundscapes and atmospheric textures, layered with AI generated vocals, combined with heavy and fiercely unpredictable drum elements.

The Berlin-based artist Simina Grigoriu debuts on DCLTD. The opener ' Declare Me' steps up the energy with searing intent, while never losing a sense of deep brooding atmosphere. One for the marathon Sunday afternoon sets. ‘Astral Waters’ bubbles away with tight drum work and a deep Motor City vibe. ‘Technology of Prayer’ mixes late-night techno soundscapes with driving rhythms. An essential tool for bridging moods during longer sessions. And finally ‘The Right Calibre’ positions tribal rhythms at the fore for a rolling cut that doesn’t take a backwards step from creating plenty of tension through the mid-section via a stirring break.

Initially released exclusively in digital format two years ago, the already cult favourite Whispers Of An Ancient World finally makes its way to vinyl courtesy of Mystic & Quantum but in highly restricted numbers. Featuring artwork by Kilian Eng, this red edition offers a mesmerising auditory journey. Ambient landscapes and evocative ancient ceremonies coalesce with explorations through lush jungles, tranquil acoustic melodies, and edgier dub motifs hinting at a looming dystopian future. Locked-In is back in the game with its sixth release, The Amigos EP. This four-track exploration sees rising producers Andy Somoza and Juaan take the helm, crafting an EP destined for the crates of discerning DJs.

Leading the charge is "Disperso," a cheeky and extroverted anthem that injects chopped-up rave stabs and nostalgic vocal breaks into a tight rhythm section. It's a classic Locked-In opener with a fresh twist, sure to get bodies moving.
