In a landslide of writhing textures and hypnotic rhythm, prolific techno explorer DOLTZ. returns to DJ Nobu's Bitta imprint for an expansive album that foregrounds his skill creating living, breathing soundscapes out of pure synthesis. Since debuting in 2020, Shun Watanabe has issued a steady stream of LPs and EPs that quickly established him at the forefront of techno innovation in the Japanese scene. It was natural then for him to forge a connection with DJ Nobu's celebrated Bitta label via 2024 release Inception EP, a forthright club-focused statement to balance out his more experimental output on Muzan Editions and other labels. Elsewhere, Watanabe has also been developing a fruitful collaboration with German techno veteran Tobias Freund, resulting in two bold yet elegant albums on Dutch label Delsin. On Final Trace, the DOLTZ. sound is steered with purpose towards tactile sonic terrain where microscopic detail rewards the patient listener. He explains a core inspiration for the album was Kobo Abe's avant-garde 1960s novel Woman In The Dunes, which drew on repetition and the quiet madness of an inescapable environment. That manifests as a forbidding demeanour that courses throughout Final Trace, detectable in every slithering trail of static interference and mind-warping tonal loop. This is expertly sculpted wormhole techno of the highest calibre, delivered by an artist with the creative spark to make something visceral and thrilling out of a technically advanced approach. The power of Final Trace lies in the subtlety of its progression as a seemingly incessant refrain slowly morphs before your ears, but this is far from a static album. From the mesmerising throb and thrilling crescendo of 'Faz' to the sprightly ripples and pulses darting across 'Resonance', there is a constant sense of movement and the bright-eyed wonder of new ground being broken at every turn. Crafted in North East England in the vibrant period before chill-out was co-opted by advertising, Steve Cobby and Dave McSherry's sharp-eared funk formula remains a cult classic suite of exquisite productions spanning deep house, broken beat and ambient shot through with wry humour.
Last physically released in limited quantities in 2002, Forever Records are revisiting this 1994 gem with an extensive reissue led by a triple vinyl pressing. As well as a new LP edition of the album, there will also be a uniquely numbered, limited edition housed in a gatefold sleeve that comes with a bonus 10" featuring two previously unreleased tracks.

'Chemistry' and 'Rankine', plus an exclusive print of Catherine Brennand's watercolour painting that graces the front of the album. All editions also features liner notes by veteran music journalist John McCready.

WRWTFWW Records continues its collaboration with Belgian jazzman Casimir Liberski with another Zelda-themed rendition, following his celebrated Z Suites album. This time it's a full-on live session - Casimir Libersk ReTRio's Zelda Suites (The Live Album) is a heroic Hyrule jazz adventure available in half speed mastered DLP in a heavyweight sleeve with obi.

Casimir Liberski reimagines the golden era of video game soundtracks with live jazz versions of Zelda favorites The Legend of Zelda (1986), A Link to the Past (1991), Link's Awakening (1993), and Oscarina of Time (1998) - and tons of Easter eggs! Dancing between nostalgia and avant-garde, the Brussels-born pianist and composer crafts a sonic world of pixelated folklore where melody and improvisation coexist in harmony.

Zelda Suites (The Live Album) is the origin story of Liberski's acclaimed Z Suites album. He explains:

The live recording of Zelda Suites (The Live Album) preceded the studio recording that later comprised ReTRio's first album, released on WRWTFWW entitled The Z Suites. This live recording was captured at the end of a tour in Germany and Belgium, in Osnabrück, in a small, intimate venue. This new album therefore contains only "hot first takes," imbued with all the emotion that permeated our playing that evening. In a way, it's perhaps more closely linked to my initial vision for the project: to "take the iconic themes from the Legend of Zelda games that shaped my childhood and perform them live through a jazz lens". For me, the conditions of live performance are the very essence of jazz. There's a frankness of being present, in the very moment the music is created and, one might say, listens to itself, that draws the musicians into a fervor and audacity that often transcends them. The magic of jazz comes at this price. Unapologetic, as they say in English. This album reveals a perhaps more authentic and unrestrained side of our playing. No excuses.

Wind of Oirat is the full length debut by Mongolian independent musician and sound artist Ts Bayandalai. Following his acclaimed 2020 EP Kimel, he now presents a further matured, composed and refined version of his signature sound, which combines traditional Mongolian music and instruments with influences from experimental music and post-rock. Deeply rooted in the cultural traditions of his homeland, Ts Bayandalai, who grew up in a nomadic family in the Mongolian steppe, explores nature and its myths, his ancestral roots, and the relationship between humans, animals and nature.

Artist Bio:

Ts Bayandalai is a Mongolian independent musician and sound artist. His childhood on the steppes shaped a deep sensitivity to natural and ethnic sound. To create his individual, deeply rooted yet modern soundscape, he combines traditional Mongolian musical elements with post-rock, experimental and electronic music, as well as from outernational music influences.

Born into a nomadic family on the steppes, Ts Bayandalai grew up wandering the vast grasslands with shepherds, absorbing the resonances of the horse fiddle and guitar — experiences that remain a primordial source of inspiration in his work.

Founder of the avantgarde band Horse Radio (2012) and the experimental project December3AM (2015), his compositions navigate cultural memory and contemporary aesthetics, reconstructing pastoral landscapes, temporal layers, and emotional spaces through sound.

His EP Kimel, released in 2020, manifested a delicate sculpting of sound, space, and cultural motifs, presenting a listening experience that is at once primal and modern.

Ts Bayandalai’s performances span China, Mongolia, and major independent music venues and festivals across Asia. His artistic vitality and creative autonomy have earned him critical acclaim and a devoted following in the international folk music and experimental music communities.

Olindo Records is proud to present the physical edition of Venezuelan drummer, producer and artist Orestes Gómez 2nd solo LP: No Me Fui Porque Quise.

This album is a deeply personal and rhythm-driven project where Orestes explores themes of migration, identity, and emotional resilience. Through a fusion of Afro-Caribbean percussion, jazz, hip-hop, and electronic textures, the album tells the story of leaving home not by choice, but by circumstance.

Featuring a host of exciting guests from his home country and beyond, each track blends organic drums with modern production, creating a sound that is both rooted in tradition and forward-thinking. The music moves between introspective moments and powerful rhythmic expressions, reflecting the complexity of displacement, memory, and cultural identity.

Orestes Gómez is much more than a percussionist; he is an architect of rhythm and a visionary of hybrid production. Originally from Venezuela, he has established himself as a leading Latin American voice by fusing the heritage of Afro-Caribbean drums with the avant-garde of electronic music, jazz, and hip-hop.

‘Tippex in My Eye’, Roman Flügel’s third single with Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound, nonetheless charts exciting new territory for the prolific German producer, finding him in collaboration with London-based vocalist and songwriter, PYTKO. Already established as a member of Phantasy’s creative family following her cultishly received 2022 debut LP ‘The Way We Blush’, PYTKO searching, surrealist lyrics and performance provide perfect synthesis for Flügel’s first ever vocal collaboration.

Somewhere between digital dub and avant garde shades of electro-pop, ‘Tippex in My Eye’ slowly works a strange and spacious magic, meditating on bassweight while moving ever-forward with sparse piano and distinctly Flugelesque synthesis. Throughout, PYTKO’s enigmatic vocals intertwine with this ambitious arrangement, acting as an incantation for a brief but refreshingly strange journey.

Each of these elements are repurposed with hypnotic, psychedelic impact on an alternate ‘Dance Mix’. Immediately tapping into Flügel’s well-established nous for turning minimalism into euphoria, PYTKO herself becomes a guiding force for the dancefloor, as the track builds thrillingly toward a cosmic breakdown and dramatic release.

Roman Flügel’s ‘Tippex in My Eye (ft. PYTKO)’ will be released on Phantasy on May 15th 2026, available on limited-edition vinyl and streaming.

Hekt's debut album Forever is released 1st May 2026 on Numbers, with the first single "Someday" featuring Valeria Litvakov out now.

Made with his friends Henriette Motzfeldt & Catharina Stoltenberg (solo and together as Smerz), Copenhagen-based composer/producer Fine Glindvad (who records as Fine), and Valeria Litvakov, Forever is built around juxtaposition: pop and bass brushing shoulders with dopamine fueled EDM. The record is a funhouse of mirrors where polystyrene arpeggios skitter underneath uplifting chords.

As Hekt describes the record: "Forever is desire and digital synthesis, car rides and lingering perfume. It’s missing someone who was never really there, holding on to something you didn’t want in the first place. The songs you hear when you’re falling in love on the dancefloor, and the songs you hear when you open your eyes and realize it’s just you alone with the DJ, the last one to leave. Songs to make out and break up to. A party so good you get depressed it can’t last forever."

Forever is a continuation of Hekt's work exploring the emotional core of pop music. "Someday" is the soundtrack to a hundred imagined futures with strangers in the club, as pristine arps and heartswelling chords skitter under Valeria Litvakov's ruminations, both lovestruck and terrified. Smerz add a level of fantastic to the slanted otherworldly pop of "Up in the Air, So" and "Forever." On both tracks, the melodies are squishy and impressionistic, the sound of all those memories we make in dance floors, taxis home, and in the blurry morning sunshine as we adjust to reality.

And while guest vocalists abound on Forever, Hekt also takes a turn at the mic himself. On "Without You" he shakes up a perfectly mixed cocktail of melancholy and beauty. And on "Promise" his voice is turned into another melodic accent against the fragile IDM sound design. Elsewhere he turns up the aggro. Dueting with Catharina Stoltenberg on Boys Noize's secret weapon, "Anytime Anywhere," the two trade bars across a compressed field of static and feedback while little hints of sub and wiry synths circle the edge of the stereo.

Hekt's music has always attempted to redefine what club music can and might be. This reimagining of the very basic building blocks of the dance floor is felt across Forever where he leans into the emotions of 2010s EDM. "What I loved about hardstyle and jumpstyle was the emotional intensity that kind of music can bring if you’re in the right setting. And I think that is what has stuck with me from EDM too. Emotional intensity," he explains. "It’s just been the soundtrack to some of the most fun moments in my life." On "But I Can't Really Show You," he compresses the EDM-era into 3-minutes. Vocal catharsis, dubstep womp, and soaring chords make it sound like the entirety of Tomorrowland being processed through MAX/MSP. This Skrillex-meets-Calvin Harris colossus is designed to destroy every sub woofer as it pulls on every last heart string.

And then there are the straight-up club stompers. "Baby" is UK club music reimagined with the steely lines of Danish modernism - think DJ Q going b2b with Errorsmith. It has a bassline made out of flubber with a vocal chopped beyond recognition as it bounces across chromatic synth lines. Even when he strips things down on the slinky garage-esque "Big Things," there are still unexpected twists and turns. The melody sounds like an Ibiza House compilation played in reverse, alongside drums that swing in and out of psilocybin bleeps and bloops. On other tracks like "Dream" and "You Won't Believe," the tropes of dance musics past, present, and future are dissolved in baths of synthesis and polished sound design.

Forever is a record where club music and Scandinavian EDM seamlessly mixes into avant-garde pop. Hekt has crafted singular and unclassifiable love songs alongside effortless bangers, making an ode to those eternal dance floor moments where time stops and you start hoping for something big.

For more than a decade, Healing Force Project has explored the intersections between electronic experimentation, free jazz and electroacoustic research. His work unfolds with a rare sense of spontaneity and depth, merging intuition and technical precision into a sound language that feels timeless and deeply personal. Over the years, this unique approach has earned him a cult reputation across the underground and avant-garde music scenes. EVIGHET006 is the result of a free creative process, a series of recordings shaped by intuition rather than concept or structure. Within this collection, elements of jazz, drill-inspired beats and dubstep textures emerge and intertwine. The music alternates between dark tonalities and unexpected shifts toward melodic and almost folkloric moments, inviting the listener into an evolving, immersive experience. A highlight, “Playing Tabla and Smoking Weed with Aliens”, reveals the hypnotic pulse of the tabla, guiding the piece through a steady percussive flow that feels both ancient and futuristic. Elsewhere, rhythmic improvisations and fragmented breaks form intricate layers that dissolve and reform with subtle tension. With this release, Healing Force Project continues to move along his own path, shaping sound as a form of exploration and reflection. EVIGHET006 captures an artist in constant evolution, translating instinct into form and intuition into movement.

Entstanden 1978 in Paris, vereint das Projekt um Hervé Picart musikalische Vision, literarischen Anspruch und technische Innovation zu einem beeindruckenden Gesamtkonzept. Gemeinsam mit Richard Pinhas (Heldon) und Schlagzeuger François Auger entwickelt Ose einen Sound, der sich zwischen Berlin School, Kraut-Elektronik und klassischem Prog bewegt. Analoge Synthesizer wie das Moog-System treffen auf dynamische Gitarren und präzise Rhythmik. Inhaltlich verbindet das Album Mythologie und Science-Fiction: Der imaginäre Planet "Adonia" wird zur Projektionsfläche für eine Klangwelt zwischen organischer Wärme und elektronischer Weite. Berlin, späte 1960er Jahre: Eine geteilte Stadt wird zum Epizentrum einer musikalischen Revolution. Inmitten der Spannungen des Kalten Krieges trat eine Gruppe junger Klangforscher auf den Plan, um die Grenzen der Rockmusik neu zu definieren. Agitation Free, 1967 gegründet, war nie nur eine Band, sondern ein Labor für "Bewegung, Unruhe und Veränderung" - so die Definition des Wortes "Agitation", die ihr Mentor Folke Hanfeld in einem Lexikon gefunden hatte. Von Anfang an fungierte Agitation Free als Knotenpunkt der aufkeimenden "Berliner Schule" der elektronischen Musik. Ihre frühen Proben im Electronic Beat Studio unter der Leitung von Thomas Kessler wurden zum Anziehungspunkt für andere Legenden wie Tangerine Dream und Ash Ra Tempel. Gleichzeitig dienten sie als Sprungbrett für Ausnahmetalente wie Christopher "Chris" Franke (Tangerine Dream) oder den Gitarristen Axel "Ax" Genrich (Guru Guru). Während die Studioalben "Malesch" (1972) und "2nd" (1973) von Agitation Free Meilensteine des Genres sind, war die Bühne der Ort, an dem das "Free" in ihrem Namen wirklich zum Leben erwachte. Ihre Konzerte waren avantgardistische Erlebnisse, die Flüssiglicht-Shows und Experimentalfilme mit hypnotischen, langgezogenen instrumentalen Improvisationen verbanden. Wie Michael Hoenig einmal feststellte, ist die Musik von Agitation Free eine "Zeitmaschine, die Vergangenheit und Zukunft verbindet". Die Magie lebt weiter.

Michael Forzza unveils Obscure, a two-track EP navigating the darker edges of atmospheric techno with precision and intent.

A) Obscure is a peak-time weapon built on powerful percussive drive and a commanding groove. The rhythm pushes forward with controlled intensity, locking the dancefloor into motion. As the track evolves, the rhythmic pressure gradually recedes, allowing a shadowed melodic atmosphere to emerge in the final moments, adding depth and contrast without losing its dark identity.

Plumbing hidden depths beneath a deceptively tranquil surface, MLO's mid-90s masterpiece Io is an overlooked gem from a golden era for ambient electronic music. Originally released in 1994, Jon Tye and Pete Smith's collaborative album responded to the growing chill-out movement by leaning into classical and avant-garde influences from Satie, Debussy and Cage through to Soft Machine, Incredible String Band and Eno. Recorded across various studios stacked with classic and rare synths, Io was patiently composed into slowly unfolding suites punctuated with ripples of arrhythmic interference to arrive at a purist vision of true ambient.

The next instalment in Forever Records' ongoing reissue series shines a light back on this landmark piece of UK electronica with the first official reissue since its original edition on Rising High. As well as the original double LP pressing and a new CD digipak version, there will also be a uniquely numbered, limited edition housed in a gatefold sleeve that comes with a bonus 10" featuring two previously unreleased versions of the album's opening cut, 'Wimborne'.

London-based French chanteuse, multi-instrumentalist & composer Clémentine March shares her new single of entrancing avant-pop ‘After The Solstice’, from her upcoming new album ‘Powder Keg’.

Enriched by influences from jazz, folk and Brazilian music, ‘After The Solstice’ was initially inspired by a time spent touring the UK with acclaimed folk singer Naima Bock. For Clémentine, the song explores “the theme of memory and reminiscence” and employs an absorbing sense of cyclical repetition; a musical device used “to evoke the deja vu sensations we all experience in life”.

Out of life on the road, everyday recurrence and contemplative retrospection, Clémentine creates a profoundly hypnotic anthem on ‘After The Solstice’, both mellow and fervent. Evoking the likes of Stereolab, The Raincoats and Cate Le Bon, it’s a mesmeric singalong of graceful vocal lilts and poised musicianship, with every element moving in beautiful unison.

Recorded & arranged with Ollie Chapman (bass) & Sophie Lowe (drums), and featuring vocal contributions from Naima Bock, Sophie Jamieson, Katy J Pearson, MF Tomlinson, Marika Tyler-Clark, Robyn's Rocket and Alabaster DePlume, ‘After The Solstice’ is the first glimpse of Clémentine’s third album ‘Powder Keg’, following the rich international eclecticism of her debut album ‘Le Continent’, and the beguiling intimacies of her second LP ‘Songs of Resilience’.

DJ Amir takes another deep dive into the back catalogue of Detroit's legendary Strata Records to curate a 2nd volume in his Strata Records – The Sound of Detroit compilations. Whereas volume one took in the soulful edge of the Strata canon this volume, as Amir says, 'leans into the label's groovier, funkier edges whilst still celebrating its bold, avant-garde spirit.' DJ Amir's relationship to the Strata label has resulted in the release of the long lost Charles Mingus live 'Jazz in Detroit' box set released on BBE Music along with re-issues from The Lyman Woodard Organisation and re-imaginings of Strata's genre defying music by Berlin based DJ and producer collective, Jazzanova as well as remixes from Kai Alce, Wajeed, Henrik Schwarz, re.decay and DJ Amir himself and, of course, volume one of The Sound of Detroit. Featuring music from The Soulmates, Fito Foster, Keith Boone & Janice Coombs and The Contemporary Jazz Quintet amongst others, The Sound of Detroit volume 2 absolutely exemplifies the importance of Strata Records in the history of innovative Black music as well as its place in the cultural landscape of Detroit as a powerhouse city for art and music.
