Swedish Hard Rockers Bonafide is finally back in business with their new album "Are You Listening?" This is the bands first studio album since 2017´s "Flames", and not only are they back, they are back with a vengeance! Every single one of the ten new tracks shows a band that once again are on fire! It´s pure high-energy uncompromising hard rock on a level that very few which very few other bands can match. Shotmaker was formed in 1993 by three friends from the small towns of Tweed and Belleville in Ontario, Canada: Matt Deline (drums, vocals), Tim McKeough (guitar, vocals), and Nick Pye (bass, vocals). The band relocated to Ottawa in 1994 before ending its run in 1996. They are widely recognized for influencing the direction of emo and post-hardcore music. During their relatively short time together Shotmaker harnessed the collective creativity of the Canadian DIY community to make something special happen. They wrote and recorded two 7”s, two LPs, a split LP (with Washington, D.C., based Maximillian Colby) and numerous songs for compilations and other split records.

The band thrived on playing live shows and completed three coast-to-coast North American tours in addition to many smaller tours. They regularly shared the stage with bands like Policy of 3, Los
Crudos, Unwound, Rorschach, Cap’n Jazz, Indian Summer, Rye Coalition, Modest Mouse, Propagandhi, Hoover, Clikatat Ikatowi, Blonde Redhead and Fugazi. "A Moment in Time: 1993-1996"
is a band-curated, 3xLP box set on colored vinyl. Also included is a 12 page booklet with never before seen images from Canadian photographer Shawn Scallen who chronicled much of the band's history.

All the music has been mastered for vinyl by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, OR.

Cleveland-based producer Tim Thornton makes music under the moniker Tiger Village. Thornton has carved out a niche in the American experimental underground through the wide-spanning releases of his own label Suite 309, as well as through his day job as a quality control supervisor at the Gotta Groove Records manufacturing plant — meaning that his ears serve as the finish line for a vast slate
of vinyl projects that hit the market every year. The Celebration, the fourth Tiger Village release on Hausu Mountain since 2014, joins a catalog that includes releases on Orange Milk, Patient Sounds,
and HausMo sublabel Blorpus Editions, along with a battery of music self-released through Suite 309.


Within the jittering IDM-adjacent networks of The Celebration, Thornton expands his craft on multiple concurrent trajectories, digging deeper into complex drum programming and labyrinthine synth arrangement while further exploring passages of vocal synthesis and non-recursive song structures that thrive on unpredictability and constant fluctuation. Thornton can’t help but bring a wide-eyed curiosity to anything he produces, as he rejects the dead-serious gun-metal intensity of many strains of contemporary electronic production in favor of bright tones and wonky rhythms.

Like fellow Hausu Mountain artists Wobbly and Moth Cock, Tiger Village revels in cheeky compositional about-faces and
carnivalesque synth lines. In all their staccato voices and peals of abstract texture, Thornton’s tracks blur the lines between harmonic electronic elements and drum patterns. The album morphs before our
ears every few seconds or so, allowing arrhythmic loops and alternating rhythmic grids to contrast against whatever might seem to be the bedrock of any given piece. By paying attention to the
trajectory of every dollop of sound, Tiger Village pulls off magic tricks in his pointillist arrangements in which nothing remains static — everything pushes towards a state of progressive complication.

History has shown that the greatest bands–bands with that certain, ever elusive quality called lasting power–neither conform to nor buck the trends of their time, but rather force the times to catch up to them. Steve Overland ist eine Legende zu Lebzeiten. Gibt es überhaupt jemanden da draußen, der seinen Namen nicht kennt? Seine Geschichte reicht bis in die späten siebziger Jahre zurück, seine erste bedeutende Aufnahme erfolgte 1980 mit der Band "Wildlife". Nach
dem Ende von "Wildlife" gründete Steve die Britische-Kult Melodic-Rock-Band "FM", eine Band, die im Laufe der Jahre viele großartige Alben veröffentlichte und bis heute erfolgreich ist.

Steve hat sich ursprünglich mit Escape Music zusammengetan, um den Leadgesang für das Boston-Tribute-Album (ESM 081) zu liefern, auf dem er 'Amanda', einen der Höhepunkte des Albums, sang. Steve arbeitete auch mit Steve Morris von "Heartland"-Ruhm zusammen, um vier "Shadowman"-Alben aufzunehmen, die alle in der Rockgemeinschaft hoch geschätzt werden. After the demise in the late 80's of cult speed metal band BLOODLUST, Sandy K and John Lisi embarked on a new project, remaining true to their roots in fierce and fast metal. With the addition of Jeff Mohr and A.J. Cavalier to the group, LAST RITES emerged, wanting to assert themselves as a "schizophrenic speed metal" band.

Dead Fader is the alter ego of John Cohen - former Brighton resident, now based in Berlin - who has worked relentlessly since 2007 to realise his vision of electronic music. His tracks are characterised by pioneering sound explorations, which on one hand oscillate between sonic extremities and on the other hand carefully craft cinemascope sound worlds. The album became a very personal exploration for Cohen, as the themes are inquiring emotional states, and the writing process was predominantly influenced by falling in love whilst making the album. Furthermore, the film Interstellar visually influenced the album, mapped as an image for Cohen's tracks to exist in. I have watched his talent, his confidence in his ability and his output just grow and grow beyond what most humans are capable of imagining, never mind making. I think that comes from a place of wonder and exploration, a place where emotion, energy and experience are important, the long and narrow, the deaf arena, the blood forest and the glass cathedrals. PYLAR, one of the best kept secret of the Spanish underground, is a collective formed in Seville (Spain) by members of Orthodox and Blooming Látigo. With an imaginary that feeds on occult sciences, the sacred (with special attention to pagan themes) or hyperstition, PYLAR navigates the depths of mysticism and cosmic horror evoking interdimensional and abyssal sonic scenarios.
An instrumental training that incorporates percussion, guitars, keyboards, horn, violin or mandolin, to which is added vocals that intone texts by the experimental writer and philosopher Francisco Jota-Pérez, fragments extracted from occult sciences and the cult vanguard grimoire Cyclonopedia. PYLAR moves between experimental doom metal, black metal and psychedelia, creating music of dense textures by superimposing elements in the styles of Blut Aus Nord, Swans or Oranssi Pazuzu. Their first work “Poderoso se alza en my” (2013) was their letter of presentation, praised by the very Julian Cope.

For Fans of Horror, Halloween, and Haunted Attractions! Shadow’s Symphony creator Grant Smoker has loved everything to do with Halloween since he was a kid and always wanted to be able to contribute or be a part of Halloween in some way. Hearing music at Haunted Attractions inspired him to start writing and recording. He writes this instrumental music with haunted attractions, films, and gaming in mind. Since 2014 Shadow's Symphony has been played in haunts around the world. Each album that he writes has a different theme, which means different instrumentation as well as style that pertain to the theme of the album. There's a bit of everything from melancholy piano to full blown dark orchestral strings and creepy ambient synth over the course of an album. For this release, The House in the Mist was written using unpolished instruments and synthesizers to match the "look and feel" of old silent films. It was his first album written in 2011 and is still a popular choice for haunted attractions. This is a fist in a multi part series from Shadow’s Symphony

Herein, Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter documents an earnest attempt to achieve salvation through the tenets of charismatic Christianity, focusing on the Pentecostal-Holiness Movement, which dictate that one's closeness to God is demonstrated through transcendental personal experience. Sonically and thematically, the record is both a logical conclusion to and a significant departure from Hayter's previous work as Lingua Ignota. Mirroring her personal evolution away from pain, she sheds the moniker that made her successful for its unflinching expression of lived trauma and instead builds herself anew, claiming her full given name, determined to see value within. Musically, while she continues to use historical avant-garde technique and formal constraints superimposed over accessible frameworks, she also strips down her instrumentation and degrades audio to provide a sense of musicological antiquity. Similar to Lingua Ignota, the record is steeped in pathos, but now the wrath of God gives way to His deliverance: "His boundless love shall make you whole."

Musically, while she continues to use historical avant-garde technique and formal constraints superimposed over accessible frameworks, she also strips down her instrumentation and degrades audio to provide a sense of musicological antiquity. Similar to Lingua Ignota, the record is steeped in pathos, but now the wrath of God gives way to His deliverance: "His boundless love shall make you whole."

'I heard about Seif Abu Bakr and The Scorpions maybe 3-4 years ago. Their album 'Jazz, Jazz Jazz' ended up on my radar because of an eBay auction with the bids eventually rising daily up to a staggering 1000$. The music is a unique combination of incredible horn arrangements powerfully performed, a vigorous drummer contributing a funky backbone and Seif's vocals uniting those elements. The results range from instrumental tracks awaking memories of 1970s crime thriller soundtracks to more Sudanese-rooted tracks, a lot of them modernized versions traditional rhythms of the diverse regions of Sudan and even an excursion into Colgolese Soukouss.
I went for my second trip to Sudan in December 2018 and after doing some research on the first trip my local colleagues Larissa and Yassir had managed to reach Amir, The Scorpions band leader and he was happy to meet. We got together with him in a Cafe right at the Nile in Omdurman. It was a happy occasion for everyone. He told us stories about him meeting Jimmy Cliff and Lewis Armstrong when they visited Sudan and how he and his band mates from The Scorpions played extensively in Kuwait, both in club residencies as well as for television. Amir brought tons of incredible photos illustrating not only the bands history but the vivid cultural live in the many music clubs in Khartoum of the 1970s. During this decade up until 1983 the capital was home to a huge number of clubs, bards and concert halls. This scene started to perish after president Nimeiry's turn away from his socialist policies, that he was widely associated with in the first decade of his rule, towards the implementation of Sharia law in 1983. During the first decade of his rule he had actively supported various artists of the Jazz scene, taking some of them on trips throughout Africa. The 1989 coup of Bashir and his generals then caused the final blow to a once thriving scene. Both of these political events within 6 years lead to significant drawbacks for the Sudanese jazz scene resulting into hardly no gig opportunities left and parties and concerts being critically observed. A number of musicians faced prosecution, most of the time for their political views; some left Sudan for good. Music never completely vanished from public life and even the regime kept selected artists close, but for a majority of those bands affiliated to the jazz scene life and making ends became a lot harder. The Scorpions dissolved as a group around the same time.
The re-release was produced with a clean copy of the vinyl version as a source. The original reel tape of the album stayed with Saif Abu Bakr along with another reel with other recordings that were never released. Unfortunately it was lost when Saif Abu Bakr had to flee to Kuwait temporarily during the second gulf war when Iraq raided Kuwait. Vinyl version comes with extensive booklets with photos, interviews, liner notes. The vinyl version also has a DLL code.

Nach dem letzten Album "Pale Horse" 2021 sowie dem Re-Release bzw. Best-of Album "Looking Back" (2022), veröffentlicht das Projekt Winter mit "Fire Rider"den nächsten Longplayer. Bewegte sich "Pale Horse" noch im vornehmlich düsteren Gothic-Rock Bereich, tritt Winter mit den neuen Songs deutlich auf das kreative Gaspedal und überrascht mit einer überaus spannenden Mischung zwischen besagtem Goth-Sound ("Unholy Blood", "Into The Void" feat. Florian Grey) und fast schon klassischem Rock im Stile der 80er Jahre, wie der Titel Song "Fire Rider", das sprichwörtliche "Children Of The 80s" oder auch die erste Single "Pray" zeigen. Fast schon stilbeschreibend für die Mischung auf dem Album ist hier die Cover Version des Sisters Of Mercy Songs "Under The Gun", der sich auch in der Original-Version zwischen den unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen bewegt. Musikalisch ist "Fire Rider" insgesamt mutiger, zuweilen etwas aggressiver als der Vorgänger aber auch wiederum extrem eingängig. Symptomatisch kann hier der Song "When All Is Said And Done" erwähnt werden, der einen wunderbaren "Chris Isaak" Vibe in der Strophe sowie fetzigen Up-Tempo Rock-Sound im Refrain perfekt kombiniert.

Crime & the City Solution kehren mit ihrem siebten Studioalbum und dem ersten seit 10 Jahren zurück, dem Killer. Das auf 7 Tracks angelegte und in Berlin aufgenommene Album ist das wohl beste Werk von Crime & City Solution und gilt als ihr Meisterwerk.

Auf dem Album ist das Markenzeichen der Band, Simon Bonneys Erzählungen, umgeben von der tiefgründigen, vielschichtigen und hypnotisierenden Instrumentierung dieser neuen Inkarnation der Band, zu der neben dem langjährigen Mitglied Bronwyn Adams auch die neuen Mitglieder Frederic Lyenn, Donald Baldie, Georgio Valentino, Chris Hughes und Joshua Murphy gehören. Zusammen mit der Produktion von Martin J. Fiedler (Josh T. Pearson, Alex White) entsteht so eine magische Atmosphäre der Vorahnung und der Möglichkeiten.

Nun sind sie mit verändertem Line-up (für Ken Owen kam Daniel Wilding; Amott wollte an der Reunion nicht teilnehmen) wieder da
und präsentieren mit „Surgical Steel“ ihr neues Album, das den Sound der früheren Alben perfekt zusammenfasst. Sämtliche
Schaffensphasen der Band werden erstklassig berücksichtigt, entsprechend bedient und dürften jeden Fan zufriedenstellen.
