“Deus É Mulher” was recorded between the Red Bull studios (São Paulo) and Tambor (Rio de Janeiro), produced by Guilherme Kastrup and co-produced by Romulo Fróes, Marcelo Cabral (bass and bass synth), Rodrigo Campos (cavaquinho and guitar), and Kiko Dinucci (guitar, synthesizer, and sampler). Reinforcing the album's feminine energy, the recordings featured Mariá Portugal (drums, percussion, and MPC) and Maria Beraldo (clarinet and clarone).

The album contains 11 new tracks, written by names such as Tulipa Ruiz, Pedro Luís, Alice Coutinho, and Rodrigo Campos, among others. Elza had a special appearance by the singer Edgar on “Exú nas Escolas” (Kiko Dinucci/Edgar), and the group Ilú Obá de Min contributed percussion and vocals on “Dentro de Cada Um” (Luciano Mello/Pedro Loureiro) and “Banho” (Tulipa Ruiz).

Over 14 days at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Nikka created Pebble to a Pearl- a quintessential collection of soul, blues, funk & pop infused tracks.

Ira James - owner and orchestrator of Vessel Recordings Group US - is treating us to plenty of newness this month and first up is Natural Rhythm with this transparent yellow vinyl 12". It's pure deep house bliss from the off with 'No Clothes' pairing rubbery and punchy kicks with some liquid synths that bring colour and depth. After the delightful '1985' comes 'City Life' which has a more dubby and bulbous low end that disappears out of sight as snappy snares power along the groove. 'Dust Redux' closes out with some sleek synth work and tech house minimalism that is pure dancing bait for the heads.

Acquit is a super under-the-radar label that has been making some great moves in recent times. DX 9's 'Incoming Signal' is further proof of that. It's a Detroit-referencing techno outing with the sort of chord work that gets you lost deep in through while the bulky drums lock you into an intergalactic trip. The G-Prod remix brings prickly and kinetic electro beats, while the Taho remix is awash with celestial synth work and cosmic melody. 'Decoded Signal 1' is a final original that has more kick and but still plenty of machine soul. This sweet 10" is limited to 200 copies so move fast.

CAR CRASH SET were one of the very few electropop acts coming out of New Zealand and have released several vinyls nationally between 1983 and 1986. Basically, the CAR CRASH SET consisted of synthesists/composers David Bulog and Nigel Russell and guitarist/producer Trevor Reekie, and was formed in late 1981, then still with Nick Jenkins on synths. They created such outstanding electropop songs with a Roland TR-606/808 and such lovely sequencing, – e.g. “Fall from Grace” is definitely a song that Anna will take with her into her grave – that it is indeed a shame that they didn’t receive more attention. Anyway, their 1983 12” ‘Two Songs’ (including “Outsider” and “Fall from Grace”) and the V/A ‘We’ll do our best’ LP (including CAR CRASH SET’s “Toys”) are at least highly collectible items amongst electropop connoisseurs and many people will be happy to see these tracks being available again as well as four previously unavailable demos from both their earliest and later days and seven more songs added to this CD version. CAR CRASH SET are currently recording again together though not only with the original Roland gear (“nothing else will do” as Dave once said): TR-606, Jupiter-4, MC-4, System 100m modular and System 104 sequencer as well as Nigel’s Korg MS20, Poly-61, Polysix and way more!

For the past two decades, Dr Roman Belavkin (Solar X) has been deeply involved in AI research and mathematics at British universities. His albums from the 1990s are a testament to an era defined by the early internet-bulletin boards, FTP sites and mailing lists. In keeping with this, Solar X's music sounds surprisingly futuristic, a romantic artifact of a time eagerly anticipating tomorrow.

Following the re-issue of Solar-X's "Xrated" in 2019, GALAXIID is releasing his debut "Outre X Mer". All tracks are from the original DAT tapes and have been remastered for this release. "Pozdno Utrom", "Dileg" and "Solar X" were originally released on the "Outre X Mer EP" on Defective Records in 1995. Other tracks are out on vinyl and digital platforms for the first time.

"I was homebound for two years between 1992 and 1994, and the only way I could escape was through computer networks and writing," Belavkin recalls. Before the nasty car accident he was a member of the USSR/Russia national wushu team. Confined to his home, Belavkin started creating tracks based on ideas from his school days in the late 1980s, when he first recorded melodies on cassette tapes. This time, however, he fused those sounds with Soviet analogue synthesizers and PC sound cards. He shared these tracks via email with friends in different countries, becoming part of the "Analogue Heaven" mailing list, a community of enthusiasts united by their passion for analogue synthesis dating back to the 1960s.

During his initial pursuit of a PhD in Computer Science, Roman wanted to explore the intersection of what electronic music could offer humanity, the potential for AI to experience emotions, and whether emotions enhance or hinder intellect. These themes resonate in the music of Solar X. The album embodies ambient techno with intricate rhythms and ear caressing melodies, choppy percussion and blissful synths, making it both tranquil and danceable. Like a shimmering spaceship navigating between anxious dreams and visions, it transports the listener to a naively hopeful era yet to come.

After over a year spent in a slight creative slump in a crumbling terraced house in Tottenham, Jam Baxter rang his label boss while heavily intoxicated to request they fly him to Bangkok forthwith, to rejoin forces with '...so we ate them whole' producer and engineer, Chemo. After an initial period of understandable hesitancy, the flights were booked and Baxter found himself suddenly regurgitated from the belly of a Jet Airliner into the magical and surreal surroundings of Mansion 38.

Mansion 38 is the name of the apartment block in Bangkok in which Baxter wrote the entire album, all the while going slowly insane on a heady mix of local liquor and multicoloured pharmaceuticals. The album is very much a product of the month he spent there in a dream-like state, becoming a delusional half-man half- goat figure to be admired and feared in equal measure.

Despite not being the wholesome and creative Zen retreat he anticipated and most probably needed, the backdrop of seedy late nights and impulsive tropical hedonism has resulted in some of his most intriguing and honest work to date. Chemo once again provides the haunting and evocative canvas that is all too perfect for Baxter's colourful imagery and dark psychedelic storytelling, blending a huge array of influences into an album that flows seamlessly from start to finish.

With comrades Lee Scott and Trellion flying to Bangkok on a whim to record their contributions and with videos shot in Bangkok, Hanoi and London this is truly an international project born of grand ambition and abject madness.

Mansion 38 is clear proof that after several years and multiple solo and group projects, Jam Baxter is still angrily shoving the boundaries of hip hop and lyricism further outward.

Die LPs werden von Green Vinyl Records in einem Spritzgussverfahren hergestellt. Dieses neue Verfahren verwendet zu 100 % recycelbares PET (wie Limonadenflaschen) und ist umweltfreundlich, da es kein PVC oder Phthalate enthält. Außerdem verbraucht das Verfahren 79 % weniger CO2 als herkömmliche hydraulische PVC-Vinylpressen. Die Platten wiegen 180 Gramm. Wie zuletzt bei Shellac, wird es für dieses Album keine Werbung, keine Presse- oder Radiopromotion, keine E-Promotion, keine Werbe- oder Rezensionsexemplare, keine Werbegimmicks und auch sonst kein kostenloses Mittagessen geben. Die Band wird weiterhin sporadisch und entspannt Shows spielen oder auf Tour gehen, so wie immer. Es gibt bei Shellac keine Korrelation zwischen Shows und Plattenveröffentlichungen. Shellac haben keine Website. Vielleicht sollten sie sich eine zulegen.

Nach 'Return' (2020) und 'Sound of the Morning' (2022) ist 'Someday, Now' die Fortsetzung von Pearsons akustisch geprägter Singer-Songwriter-Kost, die sie mit Hilfe des Elektronik-Produzenten Nathan Jenkins alias Bullion (u.a. Carly Rae Jepsen, Ben Howard, Nilüfer Yanya, Avalon Emerson) gestaltet hat. Limited Edition of 1000 Opaque Pink 180 Gram Vinyl LP. Kiss Each Other Clean, Iron & Wine's fourth full length record was originally released in 2011 and came three years after his biggest selling record up to that point, The Shepherd's Dog. The bands two earlier albums had been sparse, intimate solo affairs that offered no hint of the direction he would take with records three and four. Like The Shepherd's Dog, Kiss Each Other Clean is layered with textures, poly-rhythmic sounds and a more is more approach. His lyrics sprung to life in ways initially unimaginable to early fans and critics helping each song tell its story and build to climaxes thru various sounds and editing techniques. However what remained at the core of KEOC, and what fans of the band had come to love, was the song writing and singing of principle songwriter Sam Beam. Beam's ability to invite you in with his hushed singing tone and knack for a melody remained front and center even in his drive to replicate something in the vein of Waits' Swordfishtormbones Principle recording for KEOC was at home in Dripping Springs, Texas where Beam resided at the time. After laying down the bulk of the record Beam moved recording to Chicago to work with Brian Deck. A cast of musicians helped Beam find his sound and see his vision for KEOC including Joe Adamik (Califone), Jim Becker (Califone), Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), Rob Burger (Tin Hat Trio), Benny Massarella (Red Red Meat/Califone), Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground Duo) and Matt Lux (Isotope 217). With KEOC Beam and company brought in soft rock smoothness, dub reggae textures, and instruments that hadn't been featured on previous records. The vintage synths on 'Monkeys Uptown', the Stevie Wonder funk on 'Big Burned Hand,', the strum and drang of 'Walking Far From Home' all give the otherwise very organic-sounding arrangements a welcome cheesy kick. The record also produced the biggest radio single of the bands career with the vintage AM friendly vibes of 'Tree by the River.' It was an adventurous period in the career in Iron & Wine and one in which Beam was defying categorization.

The Denver, CO trio have embraced the foundations of sludge-corrupted death and black metal from their debut album while leveling up instrumental technicality and nuanced song writing. Glacial Tomb’s unique blend of “sludge-corrupted blackened death metal” sets them apart from the bulk of modern extreme metal outfits. Featuring Ben Hutcherson of Khemmis on guitar and lead vocals, the group has made a name for itself as a devastating force whose releases have received critical acclaim.
