1980 in Las Vegas gegründet, zog es M.I.A. 1981 nach Orange County wo sie begannen Shows im berüchtigten Cuckoo's Nest zu spielen. Sie veröffentlichten erstmals zusammen mit Genocide das mittlerweile klassische Split-Album Last Rites For... auf Smoke Seven in 1982. Nach einer kurzen Pause kam die Band 1983 wieder zusammen und nahm im November in den Greencarton Studios ein Demo mit sechs Songs auf. Nach einem Auftritt mit den Dead Kennedys bot Jello Biafra an, ihr nächstes Album Murder In a Foreign Place im Sommer 1984 auf seinem Label Alternative Tentacles zu veröffentlichen. Später veröffentlichte M.I.A. noch Notes From the Underground (National Trust 1985) und After the Fact (Flipside 1987). Anlässlich des 40-jährigen Jubiläums des Albums hat sich Modern City Records mit Alternative Tentacles zusammengetan, um ,Murder In a Foreign Place" im Jahr 2024 wieder auf den Markt zu bringen. 19 Tracks umfasst das Reissue, welches neben dem Originalalbum auch zwei Studio-Out-Takes und die kompletten Demos von Greencarton enthält. Kordhell is an anonymous musician, artist, and record producer based in
Los Angeles. He's previously played in various extreme metal acts, until
abandoning these projects for his mysterious Electronic music project,
under the new moniker "Kordhell". In early 2022, Kordhell's song
"Murder In My Mind" exploded on TikTok and YouTube, helping the song
reach the top of the Billboard Dance charts, UK top 100, and its recent
RIAA platinum certification in the US.
Boasting a massive 9 million+ monthly listeners, and over 2 billion Spotify
streams to-date, Kordhell is one of music's fastest growing streaming
stories and artists of the past few years. In 2023, Kordhell provided the
