"It Can Be" is one unique long minimal house musical story full of surprising energy.
"It Can Be About A Drug" on side A is a wild ride, not only with a perfect blend of bass and treble but also with a warm variety in glitch, percussion, and drums. The good balance of the texture gives a very pleasant lead in Denis's vocals.
"Or It Can Be About A Woman" on side B delivers a deeper tone that remains very dynamic and groovy. Lows are clear and chords are free float which guides us in a real dream-like atmosphere. A light touch of madness concludes this incredible musical journey.

Thanks to Denis Kaznacheev’s talent, this release embellishes Minimal in general with rich and dynamic tenderness and it suits perfectly well to dance-floors, without losing its extraordinary musical sensitivity.

Brendan Perry und Lisa Gerrard haben als Dead Can Dance eine ganze Reihe herausragender Veröffentlichungen eingespielt. Mehr als alle anderen DCD-Einspielungen spiegelt "Aion" ein tiefes Interesse an der Musik des späten Mittelalters und der Renaissance wider. Die aus früheren Werken bekannten elektronischen Klangteppiche tauchen nur noch vereinzelt auf, die Instrumentierung ist damit überwiegend akustisch. Teilweise kommen mit Drehleier und Dudelsack sogar historische Instrumente zum Einsatz, verpackt in mittelalterliche Chorgesänge. Das Spektrum reicht von sakralen Arrangements mit gregorianischen Gesängen ("The Song Of The Sybil", "The End Of Words") über beschwingte Tanzmotive ("Radharc", "Saltarello") und Liedern wie "The Promised Womb", die von Gerards magischem, berührend-traurigem Elfengesang leben. Atmosphärisch!

It's often a good sign when one of your favorite musicians steps out from beyond the studio walls and past the stage lights to fulfill their own inspired and creative intent. And Caíto Sánchez is not just a favorite musician, but as his lengthy resume as a sideman shows, he's also one of your favorite musicians' favorite musicians, constantly working without fanfare as an essential ingredient in a larger music feast. Sánchez earned his stripes in the 2000s and beyond as a key session player and an integral touring band member, a quiet standout even among many oversized personalities. A dedicated drummer born in Panama and living in New York, Sánchez is quite capable of keeping time for legends like Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, and Brian Jackson, as well as supporting eclectic outfits like the live groups of Quantic, Chico Mann and Midnight Magic. For all the players who have shared a stage or studio with him it comes as no real surprise, and frankly as a long overdue development, that such a unique artistic force is finally stepping into the spotlight.

With this debut single we get a glimpse into Sánchez's creative and artistic personal space, more precisely a multi-instrumental discipline of not only drums, but also bass, guitar and lead voice. It's an intensely intimate recording debut, a fantastic studio concoction born from the heart of its creator, and later fostered and mixed down by the talented hands of NYCT and Daptone veteran Victor Axelrod. The defining result on this initial 7-inch offering are two heavy psychedelic and moody nuggets of rock enespañol, a decidedly new wave of sounds and style that are quite capable of shining on their own.

Dynamite Cuts 45s series is so excited to be releasing another rare-groove club classic by the Voices of East Harlem. “Can you feel it” part one – is a mid-tempo sexy soul groover. I Can Only Be Me ist das jüngste Kapitel einer unvergleichlichen posthumen Karriere und ein bahnbrechendes neues Kollabo-Album mit dem London Symphony Orchestra. Eva Cassidys Originalgesangsparts wurden isoliert und mit neuen Arrangements von Christopher Willis (Schmigadoon!, Death of Stalin) und William Ross (Star Wars, Harry Potter) versehen. Mithilfe neuer Technologien des maschinellen Lernens wurden die vorhandenen Gesangsparts sorgfältig restauriert, um eine bisher ungehörte Klarheit und Tiefe zu erreichen. Das Ergebnis ist ein gefühlvolles, atmosphärisches Album mit üppigen Klanglandschaften, die den unverfälschten Gesang begleiten. Das Album enthält neu definierte Versionen von Klassikern wie Songbird, Time After Time, Autumn Leaves und Ain't No Sunshine.

• Co-writer Charles Spurling sang and wrote at King in the late 60s, providing songs for James Brown, Hank Ballard, Junior McCants and Peggy & Artie among others. ‘Ball Of Fire’ is an exceptional song, first recorded by Connie Austin as a smouldering mid-tempo number on which she pours her heart out. It would be updated a year later by Marva Whitney who took it at a faster funkier pace. Charles Spurling remembers Connie as a good-looking, fast-living girl who was murdered in Los Angeles soon after.

• Spurling was a good singer himself and had five King releases between 1967 and 1969. The excellent ‘You’ve Got Love On Top Of Love’ failed to make it to wax until now. Kent found the tape in the King vaults and issued it on CD in 2001; now it is on a righteous single.

Diese Selbstexpression in Form von Musik brachte ihr nicht zuletzt vor Artists wie Central Cee, PinkPantheress, BERWYN und FKA twigs den „BandLab NME Award 2022‘‘ für das beste Mixtape 2022 ein.

Kiss Klassics turn up the heat a few notches to bring you THE summer anthem of 2022, Edinburgh duo LF System flipped the Silk vocals wonderfully as does DJ Matman on the flip of this cheeky 45 with his edit of the original sample source both stone cold killers!

Louie Vega is launching a trio of Double Pack 12” releases that includes special unreleased versions of select titles from the Expansions In The NYC album project. Each package also features unique customized art by celebrated artist Andrew Thiele who also created the art for the album jacket as well. This package spotlights four of the very memorable vocalists on the album: namely Lisa Fischer (The Star Of A Story), Cindy Mizelle and Audrey Wheeler (Love Has No Time Or Place and Janine Sugah Lyrics Lyons (A Place Where We Can All Be Free).

"I Can't Let Go" ist das erste Album der britischen Sängerin und Schauspielerin Suki Waterhouse und wurde von dem Grammy-nominierten Produzenten und Songwriter Brad Cook (Bon Iver, The War On Drugs, Snail Mail, Waxahatchee) produziert. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Schauspielerin (The Bad Batch, Assassination Nation, Misbehaviour) und Model (Burberry, Ferragamo, Tommy Hilfiger) katalogisiert die Britin ihre intimsten, prägendsten und bedeutendsten Momente ihres Lebens am liebsten in Songs. Die in London geborene und aufgewachsene 30-Jährige fühlte sich schon früh zur Musik hingezogen und sah das Medium immer als eine Möglichkeit, Kreativität auszudrücken und Geschichten zu erzählen. Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ label Hot Creations will deliver a combined EP by Aix en Provence-based DJ and producer MALIKK and Marseille-born duo Chicks Luv Us in August. Bridging chunky tech house with dub techno, Can We Dance displays their collective love for bright and playful beats.

On the title track, the producers work in symbiosis to create a club-driven chunker with chopped-up vocal samples and a squishy bassline. Bouncy ‘til the last beat. On the B-side, Chicks Luv Us drop a Balearic-flavoured banger with Makelene. High-pitched vocals pulsate throughout the track, as huge kickdrums and playful sound FX amp up the energy. MALIKK offers a quirky closing track on Walkie Talkie, packed with punchy drums, bleepy percussion and techy vocals—perfectly aligned with Hot Creations’ colourful aesthetic.

Chicks Luv Us are two Marseille-born pals with a penchant for groovy house and minimal techno. Their back catalogue echoes the textures that bring them together as producers, with releases on Loco Dice’s Desolat, Steve Lawler’s Viva Limited and many more. They cut their teeth in DJing during their residency at Spartacus Club in Cabriès in the south of France from 2009 and 2018. Today, the pair continue to grow a legion of international fans while finessing their craft in the studio, and soundtracking dancefloors worldwide. MALIKK is an Aix en Provence-based artist whose early appreciation for 80’s disco, funky and soul still occasionally seeps into his current club-focused music. Previous releases on Hot Creations, Hottrax, Toolroom, and Solotoko display his multi-dynamic palette, nodding to several genres and moods. Having played in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and his native France, MALIKK’s DJ sets reflect his fun and explorative approach, marking him as one of Aix en Provence’s finest exports.

The Vivid label is yet another one from Burnski who also runs Constant Blanc and Instinct. He is s single handed garage hit making machine and he knows how to tap into the next gen, too. Here he calls upon Peaky Beats for a naughty and nasty three track affair that has retro feels but contemporary style. 'Can't Stop' opens up with a 2-step shuffle and steely hits, then 'Get Ready' gets more free and melodic with some boxing little melodic patterns and oscillating bass. Last of all is the most menacing and dark - 'Wildcat' flips into a dub wise swagger mid-way through that is going to blow up the clubs.

25TH ANNIVERSARY in Yellow Vinyl

The eighth Studio Album by the Band, released on April 22, 1997. It was produced by Roger Moutenot and recorded at House of David in Nashville The Album expands the guitar-based pop of its predecessor Electr-O-Pura to encompass a variety of other music genres, including Bossa Nova, Krautrock and Electronic Music. Most of the Songs on the Album deal with melancholy emotions and range from short and fragile Ballads to long and open-ended dissonance.

Almost an anti-Christmas song, the Soul Duo’s “Just A Sad Xmas” doesn’t exactly evoke the festive spirit of the season. Comprised of ‘Tidewater’s queen of soul Ida Sands and former Anglos tenor Joe Webster, the duo issued just two singles on Noah Bigg’s Shiptown label. Just in time for the holidays, Numero has repressed this maudlin yuletide burner and packaged the red, white, and green splattered 45s in a rigid cardboard sleeve for easy wrapping.

Loleatta Holloway’s sojourn at Aware records in Atlanta in the mid-70s was just about as good as soul music can get. We have taken the wonderful two-stepper ‘I Can’t Help Myself’ (NOT the 4 Tops song) from her “Cry To Me” LP for DJs and collectors and added the originally unreleased – until it’s Kent CD appearance in 1996 – ‘Mrs So And So's Daughter’. That track is a more raunchy, sister-funk number compared to the smooth top side; each side oozes class.

House royalty right here. An unmistakable voice over the decades, from the late ‘80s till the present day, Byron Stingily’s falsetto tones are some of the purest around. Whether hitting the high notes as part of Ten City or in his solo songs, his gospel-tinged, uplifting voice has soundtracked countless euphoric moments.

Club Chi’ll Records welcome Byron to the label as he delivers a signature, piano-laden, hands in the air vocal house gem in the form of ‘Can’t Help It’. Not stopping there, they enlist the expertise of Wade Teo, Spaces Between and Soul Clap to add their trademark flavour to proceedings with four distinctive remixes.

The boss and first lady of MoFunk Records take it back to their street funk roots with this split 7” & double single release. XL Middleton’s “I Can’t Believe It” & Moniquea’s “Get It Together” are two variations on one vibe - that uptempo, synth heavy modern boogie sound that feels right at home whether you’re cruising the boulevard with it or getting down to it on the dance floor.
XL’s “I Can’t Believe It” may come across like a dedication to a shady lady but is really a larger meditation on the world we live in, while Moniquea’s “Get It Together” is an exhortation not to pass good love by. Sunsleeper was halfway through the touring cycle for their debut album when the pandemic halted live music. For the Salt Lake City indie rockers, that pause allowed them to reframe what their journey as musicians and people inspires them to create and say. After forming in 2016 and briskly realizing their Nathan Hussey-produced debut EP Stay the Same, the band entered the studio for their debut album, inking a deal with Rude Records. You Can Miss Something and Not Want it Back dropped in summer 2019, with the band celebrating with runs featuring their collaborators and friends in All Get Out, an Audiotree live session, and most recently, a run with TWIABP and Bent Knee in fall 2021.While the pandemic still rages on in uncertain terms, Sunsleeper found themselves more solidified than ever writing their sophomore LP, with their road-tested lineup collaborating cohesively and with united goals. While You Can was recorded and produced by Brett Romnes (Oso Oso, Hot Mulligan) and mastered by Will Putney (Counterparts, Knocked Loose). Enlisting heavyweight personnel across scenes and genres underlines what the band views as this album’s mission: to connect with and inspire as many listeners as possible while venturing into their most daring and expansive material to date.
