You may remember the original Da Mystery Of Chessboxin’ as an archetypal RZA production characterised by clashing sword samples and a skeletal piano motif with the grit coming from the ‘Clan’s vox and the crunch of the boom-bap drums. KS’s remix is utterly different – as we’ve come to expect – and sees him provide a beat that matches the energy of the original vocals rather than provide a counterpoint to them. Out go (most of) the swords and keys and in come guitars and furious scratching. Side B’s the radio edit, the A’s the ‘Full Phat’ version, cop it in black or yellow wax and remember – in the front, in the back, Killa Beez on attack!

Composer Yuji Ohno has composed music for many TV series and films, including the "Lupin the Third" series and "Inugamike no Ichizoku" (The Inugami Clan). The theme song for the 1978 TV drama "The Great Chase," for which he was also in charge of music, is being reissued in analog form for the first time in 47 years since its original release.

Since 2021, he’s hosted Tomorrowland’s Core, the festival’s alternative electronic stage's radio show, which has featured Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien, DJ Tennis, and more.

A selection of solid dubs originally recorded by BB Seaton at Duke Reid's legendary Treasure Isle studio and mixed in-house by the Duke's nephew Errol Brown. A radical departure for all concerned this bold dub album was never officially released although a few clandestine copies reputedly did the New York rounds at the time

An abstract painting with expressionist hues and futurist echoes, a mix between action painting and informal art: this is the first impression from Grischa Lichtenberger's live performance recorded at the Pino Pascali Museum in Polignano a Mare. The artist, based in Berlin, makes the rhythms creak, cuts them with a laser, weaves imaginative harmonic coils, smoothes with electric razors and draws figures with echoes and industrial clangs.

Then he uses ferrous materials that, with a precision lathe, are abraded and cause sparks. Suddenly steel springs fall to the ground, generating a cascade effect. In the distance, you can hear the roar of speeding cars and the ringing of bells.

Lichtenberger pulps, compresses, dilates, mixes, electrifies, heats up, liquefies: he does all this in just less than forty minutes, treating the sound material with violence, transforming it from time to time, shaping it and succeeding in the arduous task of controlling its effects. It is as if Luigi Russolo, Alva Noto and Thomas Brinkmann were closed in a workshop on the edge of a highway, parodying the famous definition of techno.

Rare is the soundtrack that as time passes overshadows the film of which it was a part, but that’s what has happened in the years since the 1992 release of The Last of the Mohicans. Not that the film is any slouch; Michael Mann’s epic retelling of James Fenimore Cooper’s frontier tale is a cable TV fixture and more evidence that Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the great actors of our time. But the film’s music has emerged as easily one of the most popular scores of ‘90s cinema, with the “Main Title” in particular having become a part of our popular culture the same way as, say, the signature themes from Titanic, Star Wars, and other blockbusters. What makes it even more extraordinary is that the movie’s score emerged from postproduction turmoil as the work of two different composers, Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman. Jones’ work is more of the traditional orchestral soundtrack ilk, Edelman’s has a more contemporary feel, but somehow it all fits, with the closing credit song “I Will Find You” by Clannad an added bonus. Anlässlich des 40. Jubiläums von Clannads Album „Macalla“ (irisch für „Echo“) aus dem Jahr 1985, das
von Phil Kinrade in den Air Studios neu gemastert wurde, erschien das neunte Studioalbum. Es war ihr
erster internationaler Erfolg und markierte einen bedeutenden Meilenstein in der Karriere der Band. Es
präsentierte eine Mischung aus traditionellen irischen Folk-Wurzeln und einem eher Mainstream-, Popbeeinflussten Sound.
Aufbauend auf dem Schwung früherer Erfolge wie „Theme from Harry’s Game“ (1982), das internationale
Aufmerksamkeit erregte und sogar von U2 als Outro-Musik für Konzerte verwendet wurde, und dem preisgekrönten Soundtrack zur Fernsehserie „Robin of Sherwood“ (veröffentlicht 1984 als Album „Legend“),
stand Clannad kurz vor dem Durchbruch in Märkten wie Amerika. Macalla gelang dieser Durchbruch
vor allem dank des legendären Duetts „In a Lifetime“ mit Bono von U2. Bono, bereits ein Bewunderer
von Clannad, arbeitete mit Leadsängerin Moya Brennan an diesem eindrucksvollen Song, der ein großer
Hit wurde. Die Zusammenarbeit entstand durch gegenseitige Bewunderung und ihre gemeinsame irische
Herkunft.
„In a Lifetime“ war ein Charterfolg und erreichte Platz 5 in Irland und Platz 20 in Großbritannien. Auch das
Album „Macalla“ selbst schnitt gut ab und landete in Großbritannien und anderen Ländern in den Charts.
In Neuseeland erreichte es beispielsweise Platz 29. Während einige langjährige Fans ihres rein traditionellen
Folk-Sounds die eher pop- und elektronisch geprägte Produktion des Albums als Abkehr empfanden, gilt
„Macalla“ allgemein als eines der stärksten und prägendsten Alben von Clannad. Es verband erfolgreich
ihre Folk-Wurzeln mit einem zeitgenössischeren, atmosphärischeren und New-Age-beeinflussten Sound und
sprach damit ein breiteres internationales Publikum an. Das Album enthält Lieder auf Englisch und Irisch,
darunter „Caisleán Óir“ und „Buachaill Ón Éirne“, gesungen in ihrer Muttersprache Gälisch.

On December 8, 2023, Siska unveiled a first single titled Arabian Knights, a cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees, and it’s a 4-track EP that she is preparing to release on March 29.
