Close Talker ist eine Indie-Rockband aus Saskatoon, Kanada. Die Band tourt durch Nordamerika und Europa und gewinnt die Aufmerksamkeit und Lob von namhaften Stimmen wie NPR, Billboard, Clash, Spin, Q Magazine und Consequence of Sound.

Nach der erfolgreichen Kampagne zu ihrem aktuellen Album 'How Do We Stay Here?' beenden sie ihre Tournee 2019 mit einem atemberaubenden Auftritt im Broadway Theater in Saskatoon, begleitet von einem klassischen Streicherensemble - eines ihrer langjährigen Ziele als Band. Der Kreis um 'How Do We Stay Here?' wird wunderschön geschlossen, als Close Talker bei den Saskatchewan Music Awards 2020 als Alternative Artist of the Year ausgezeichnet werden.

Was 2012 als Leidenschaft dreier Freunde beginnt, ist nach nunmehr einem Jahrzehnt integraler Bestandteil von allem, was die drei Mitglieder Will, Matthew und Chris tun. Close Talker ist der Gegensatz 'nurture vs. nature' in Echtzeit und zieht sich tief hinein in das tägliche Leben der heute Dreißigjährigen. In den kanadischen Prärien, einem Ort, an dem sich Veränderungen nur langsam vollziehen und die Nostalgie stark ist, verhandeln Close Talker diese Gegensätze auf ihrem neuen Album 'The Sprawl', das im März 2013 erscheinen wird.

Following several releases that continue to establish Glitterbox as the hub for independent house and disco worldwide, four sought-after mixes that have soundtracked the label's parties appear on wax for the first time. Leading Glitterbox Jams Volume 7 is label head Melvo Baptiste alongside Detroit trio Dames Brown with the infectious 'Sweat', a track that made waves in 2023 with its irresistible rhythms and stellar vocals. Marking their first original track on the label, Lovebirds ‘Burn It Down’ showcases the Berlin-based duo as the house and disco authorities that they are. Next up, Art Of Tones & Inaya Day make dancefloor magic with their uplifting collaboration 'Give My Love', before sensual earworm ‘Smooth Sweet Talker’ by Young Pulse & Fleur De Mur closes out the compilation. This four-track package once again shows the disco, funk and soul sound of Glitterbox at its very best.

Following the blistering inaugural release from Talker comes the
second release on the Standards & Practices imprint from label
co-founder Jonathan 'Stave' Krohn, who returns with 5 tracks of dark,
visceral electronic music for the discerning listener. 'Black Hills'
and 'TASC US' kick off the proceedings in fine style - pummeling
drums underpinning harsh blasts of noise and bleak, greyscale
atmospherics, while 'In/Human' and 'B5' on the flip take a different
approach - 2 tracks not aimed at the dancefloor, but both retaining
that cold, claustrophobic feel that characterizes much of Stave's
work. The brooding and sinister 'Stave 17' closes the EP, moving into
exciting new territory with an intensely cinematic sound
