With this new work Maurizio Abate recovers the discourse started with Loneliness, Desire and Revenge (2016) but with a different narrative sensitivity. The symbolic air that you breathe suggests a personal and universal experience in which thoughts and perceptions remain as enveloped in an eternal cosmic wheel. It's a condition that flows sincerely into an emphatic introspection and identification between the stasis of an inner soul and the flowing vitality of stagnant aquatic landscapes. In this direction the music of Abate always condenses multiple ranges of different emotional spectra evoked by profound naturalistic references. The airy openings of the strings, the distant whispers of the harmonica, cascades of phrasings more calm or more torrential can lead into the magnificent climax of the Nostalgia. The string arrangement for violin and cello by Lucia Gasti introduces in a dimension of idyll, in elegiac passages of touching poetry almost of chamber music but at the same time wet by the pastoral and bucolic moods of autumn landscapes, they are paintings imbued with different flavors and colours that recall the light and the candor of the Venetian tonalisms or the moving paintings full of meaning of Tarkoski. In the darkest and saddest moments the open chords are like suspensions of unresolved questions and torments, but the cathartic finale with a free and minimalist piano prelude to possible future glares, almost to perceiving that even where there's stasis the sun can still shine the hope for the new on the clearing of the pond. Remains the feeling with that stylistic "freedom of expression" dear to the visionaries Fahey and Basho, but also a clear interpretation of the expressive possibility of the lead guitar, absolutely lyrical and contemporary for refinement of the crystalline sound, which places this work in parallel with the basic acoustic tests of others great like Jim O'Rourke, Jack Rose or James Blackshaw.

Bubblewrap Collective and The Gentle Good are proud to present 'Y Gwyfyn', a new EP entirely in the Welsh language to celebrate Welsh Language Music Day 2018. The EP contains brand new tracks and previously unreleased material as well as outtakes and an album track from the recent Welsh Music Prize winning 'Ruins/Adfeilion'.
In keeping with the'Ruins/Adfeilion'album, themes of the naturalworld,cultural identityandsocial justice feature prominently in 'Y Gwyfyn' EP. The title track describes a hot summer evening as perceived through the senses of a moth, whilst 'Briwsion' (Crumbs) is a critique of social inequality in today's modern world. Fan favourite track 'The Fisherman' (Y Pysgotwr) is reworked into the Welsh language, followed by a brand new recording of traditional Welsh folk song 'Cariad Cyntaf' (First Love). The EP ends with an epic 8 minute instrumental, 'Golwg y Gwdihw' (An Owl's Eye View), a musical representation of a nocturnal woodland scene originally recorded as part of a project for National Museum Wales. The EP features some of the finest musicians in Wales, including Jack Egglestone on drums, Callum Duggan on bass and Georgia Ruth on vocals. The EP also gives a platform to the stunning string arrangements of Cardiff based composer Seb Goldfinch, performed beautifully by the Mavron Quartet.
Finally here we are with the fourth release on Last Drop Records, signed by the london-based Stavrogin. 'Collectors' takes a more subdued approach from his debut on Australian label 3BS, focusing on ampdriven ambient textures and digital experimentation. 'Sixty Acres' is a juddering mass of static textures and penetrative low-end, forcing itself to a crumbled close. Title track 'Collectors' is something like the afterglow. Weary and destitute, the track stumbles through heatwave-soaked atmospheres, fragmented voices stuttering like a malfunctioning android. 'Are These Actual Miles' is perhaps the most direct, with its tremors of noise punctuated by a rhythmic pulse. This is a feature Italian duo Ichinen have capitalised on in their closing remix, reducing the track to a warbling, dead-eyed drum workout.
From the outset Craig Armstrong and Scott Fraser decided their collaboration would be based on an electronic aesthetic. We intentionally limited ourselves almost entirely to using vintage synthesisers, modern hardware synths and soft synths. The use of electronic bass and piano were the only exception to this rule

Here he is joined by brother Dillon Bush A.K.A Ahkur on opener "Ashes Fall", a seriously dark piece of music and possibly Tetrads heaviest production to date. An eerie intro with a haunting vocal sample drop into an assault of pure dubstep pressure which is sure to ignite dance floors the world over.
Flip side "Crumble" is a more stripped back affair with a nod to the classic sounds of dub with its delayed snares, skanks and FX. What really sets this tune apart though is the overwhelming power of the sub, with a weight-line so devastating it could crumble cities let alone the dance!Here brothers Tetrad and Ahkur have succeeded in providing an outstanding plate, absolutely brimming with sound system material in its purest form. Essential.
Jungle are based around a core musical duo of lifelong friends known simply as 'J' and 'T', who expand to a thrilling seven piece live, and make mesmeric, kaleidoscopic modern soul that's unmistakably born in the UK but has true global appeal.
