The Song Says - Bruno Pronsato´s label restarts after 4 years of hiatus with a Vinyl Version of his seminal "Lovers Do"

It's been fours years since the original release of Lovers Do. For the first time now finally released on vinyl. In the meantime he's kept very busy--primarily with side projects. First there was Others, his experimental house outfit with Daze Maxim. Then came Public Lover, his duo with the French artist Ninca Leece that debuted last year on thesongsays (Bruno's label). He's continued to join forces with Sammy Dee as Half Hawaii, playing live shows around Europe and putting out tracks on Perlon and Diamonds & Pearls. As half of the duo Ndf, he coproduced Since We Last Met, a single that marked his debut on DFA and landed in Pitchfork's top tracks of the year. But while he was juggling all these different projects, one piece of music was slowly taking shape: his third and most immersive album, Lovers Do. Like much of Bruno's work to date, Lovers Do is experimental without being snobby--or to use his own term, accidentally avantgarde'-- but this one takes it further than the others. It has a looseness that's truly rare in techno, scrapping formulaic verses and breaks, it winds along like an abstract sketch, guided by intuition instead of logic. Some songs are fraught with nervous tension, others are soothing and rich with detail, from dappling rhodes to orchestral swells, jazzy drum fills and wet hand claps. Human voices swirl in and out of the mix, serving only to make things more surreal. Many of the tracks stretch well beyond ten minutes, one bows out after less than three. Luciano has arranged a special series of four releases as part of the celebrations for the fifteen years anniversary of his own Cadenza Records, launching the first one to begin the festivities. Each episode is coming out in a different season of the year; the first one, with the catalogue number 118, is the chapter dedicated to the summertime and contains 5 enchanting tracks with an exquisite sound. Thisseries is just one of the astonishing surprises that Luciano has set aside for the birthday of his beloved label.
The show begins with "The Amazing Lilou", a crispy ariose tune with elaborated percussions and calypso-flavored synthesizers. "Hiding Hearts" is a latin prelude with pleasant guitars and restful melodies, flowing with joy and peace. "Nabusima" is another Caraibic spell, with noteworthy carefullymixed drums and elevating harmonies. "Magik Mechanics" explores complex broken beats andelectronic textures, drawing a colored narration in between a fairy tale and a sci-fi movie. Finally,"Tirana del Oriente", as disclosed by the title, is a trip into the Oriental ardent magic. A collection offive long summery compositions to accompany our hot pleasing days from the dawn till the dusk,holding our hands during a never ending daydream.

Breach is back with his second release of the year on his new imprint NKDLTD. On NKDLTD002 Breach delivers a two tracker entitled 'Turtle Dance' which continues where he left off in quality but stylistically stepping into warmer tones for the summer months. NKDLTD001 saw the first release from the Amsterdam based producer in three years and with it a return to Breach's roots. Deep, dark & moody tracks which went on to resonate with a broad selection of artists including Benji B who went on to play it numerous times on his seminal BBC Radio 1 show.

One half of the KWC 92 (who has previously delivered two top notch lps for L.I.E.S.), Swedish producer Max Stenerudh aka Maxxx Bass steps forward with a 9 track solo effort titled "Gone Fishing". Right off the bat we hear Stenerudh immersing himself in a world of chilled out and narrative FM electronic explorations that call to mind places past. The untitled tracks leave it to the listerner to create a story on their own, as voice pads, hand drums and dare we say pan flutes push and pull their way through the album creating dreamlike textures and otherwordly escapes. If you want to know what Gabe Gurnsey's debut album
'Physical' sounds like, the first thing you should do is forget all
about Factory Floor, the group he co-founded 13 years ago.
Gone are the cold, lengthy, stripped back deconstructions of no
wave electronica and industrial techno, abandoned in favour of
something altogether warmer, torrid and succinct.
'It's a real departure from Factory Floor,' he explains. 'Yeah,
that was the intention. There's only one track over six minutes
long! There's only one crossover point on the song 'Night
Track', which is 6'33' - that's probably as close to Factory Floor
as it gets. What I wanted to get into with 'Physical' had more to
do with exploring songwriting and structure. The album is very
escapist in one sense even though I don't want to escape from
Factory Floor but what I do on my own has to be separate and
it has to explore new avenues.' Gurnsey started writing tracks in his downtime from the group early 2017 and by the start of that Summer he had 30 demos ready for work. He admits he worked very quickly initially but then gave the tracks 12 months to develop fully into a new sound.
And that new sound - a 21st Century take on muscular electro,
Balearic synth pop, EBM, proto-Hacienda militant funk, early
Chicago house and minimal, Neptunes-referencing beats - can
be experienced in full on 'Physical' the album released on Erol
Alkan's Phantasy label. The album features additional production from Erol Alkan, who also mixed the record.

AE Productions in association with In Effect Recordings are proud to present the next installment from Philadelphia legend Phill Most Chill, this time with beats provided by Nova Scotia based DJ/Producer Jorun Bombay, under the guise of Jorun PMC - with a tip of the hat to Hip Hop legends Run DMC. If you've heard either of Jorun's incredible Rock The Discotek mixes you may have heard one or two tracks from this 12' in their early form as parts of those mixes. Here at AE Productions we thought it was a shame that they weren't available as songs in their own right on vinyl so here they are with an extra track for good measure and with more of Phill Most Chill's trademark artwork making the sleeve look incredible!
The EP opens with Can't Stop Won't Stop and gets straight down to business. Phill Most Chill starts on the first beat of the first bar almost as if he can't wait to rock the spot. This is pure party Hip Hop fueled by uptempo Disco Breaks, but don't be fooled by that statement - this is no crossover rap music, we mean the type of party that could be found in parks in New York in the early days of Hip Hop. Listen for a whirlwind of extended turntable action from Jorun who slices like a food processor throughout.
Magic Disco Machine stays with the classic Disco Break sound with various nods to Block Party Classics which create a great club friendly track. Again with some serious turntable skills from Jorun to complement Phill's hype rhymes, this is the brand new exclusive track for this release and has all the credentials of a summer party classic.
The final track here The Champ stays with the classic block party theme but this time utilising a raw Funk groove that will be a surefire hit with B-Boys and B-Girls worldwide and shouldn't fail to get any Hip Hop party moving. This could be considered the most underground sounding of the three tracks assembled here.

After muscular releases on Optimo, Clandestine Traxx and Ecstatic plus regular collabs with Dom from Factory Floor as Green Gums / Bronze Teeth on Diagonal and Opal Tapes, 'Tea Ceremony' opener 'Fang' moves the L/F/D/M project forward by throwing the listener straight into the eerie fairground feels, laid over metallic acid baselines, microscopic hats and pounding kicks that seek to overwhelm as well as inform. The giddy aggression of 'Gold Foil' folds crunching distortion into 120 bpm jacking Chicago territory before closing Side A with the tight ethno-percussive jammer of 'Cylinders Vari II'.

French by way of Berlin DJ/producer La Fraicheur finally delivers with a first 9-track album, 'Self-Fulfilling Prophecy', her first release on the InFiné label. This remarkably dense, dancefloor-oriented album oscillates

between techno, ambient and electronic music, a mesmeric yet pounding effort that gets the body and the mind moving.

For over a decade now, first in Paris, then Montreal and now in Berlin, La Fraicheur has been brewing her own blend of Deep House & Techno beats, making a name for herself with her signature sound of emotionally charged

Techno sets. Marathon DJ, she is a resident in Berlin's renowned Wilde Renate and part of the Female:Pressure network. She can go on for countless hours, running the gamut from classics to new songs released only two hours earlier.

Expanding her craft by producing her own music ranging from ravy epic Tech-House to dark pumping Electro, spacious open air Deep House to melancholic Electronica, she spent the summer of 2017 doing an artist residency with the Berlin-Detroit Connection (organisation founded by Mike Banks (UR) and Dimitri Hegemann (Tresor) at the Underground Resistance HQ in Detroit, working on her first solo album. 'I want to use moments of dancing to stimulate a bit of political awakening' she says, and, speaking of her album in particular, (on which are scattered various samples of politically explicit content (for example, excerpts from aninterview with Angela Davis). While 'Self Fulfilling Prophecy' clearly aspires to raise awareness, it does so subtly, without ever relegating music to the second class. This is neither 'ready-to-think' or 'ready-to-dance', but an assembly of sophisticated rhythms, sounds and words that it are up to each listener to interpret in their own way. La Fraicheur does not seek to deliver a message, or impose a discourse, but to distil an idea and suggest a relationship to the world - a report to the world based on the affirmation of self and acceptance of others in all their differences.

The band formed in late 2013 by former Coldworker members Joel Fornbrant (vocals), Oskar Pålsson (bass) and Anders Jakobson (drums). The line-up was completed by guitarist Kristofer Jankarls (also in Livet som insats) a few months later and the quartet focused on songwriting. The first recording took place in the spring of 2015 and the 12 tracks were released on the two 7' EP's Time and again and Mankind crawls.Following the releases of the EP's and a few live shows Axis of Despair continued to work on material with the ultimate goal to create a striking grindcore album with an aggressive, yet diverse selection of strong songs. The writing process was spread out over a year until the band went into the studio and begun the recordings in the summer of 2017.Contempt for Man propels with twenty super-charged raging songs, clocking in around the half an hour mark - short enough to retain attention, and long enough to serve a good taste of the bands particular brand of European grindcore.
