"The Room", Fenster's fourth album and their first release on Altin Village & Mine marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. After releasing three albums, a feature length film, and touring extensively throughout Europe and North America since 2012, "The Room" serves as an entry point into their sonic evolution. The essential characteristic of the band is transformation - within and between genres, albums, and songs. Their sound is a window framing psychedelic, groovy, hypnogogic, playful pop.
Fenster is Elias Hock (Germany), Jonathan Jarzyna (Germany), Lucas Ufo (France) and JJ Weihl (USA). Their mission in creating this album was to compose and arrange every song together in a room. It is an experiment in collective creativity that pushed all of them to transcend their individuality and create something together which is greater than the sum of its parts.
The songs were tracked live in a house where the band ate, slept, and played together. Often the songs were recorded without implementing a click track. They were intent on finding and locking into a human groove—one open to imperfection—while still maintaining a tightness between them. They wanted to make the songs feel alive—as if the listener were present in the room with them in the moment of creation.
The album's title track "The Room" opens the record like a rollercoaster ride. There is a tension in the first bars that ties us to earth, a minimal riff that guides us to the first chorus where we feel we are slowly lifting into the air—and by the time we reach the second chorus it has exploded into a space far away from the planet's gravitational pull.
The band's use of juxtaposition is not just a way of channeling a vast library of musical genres and concepts, it is a means of expression. Combining tender pop melodies with kraut-beats, disco grooves and psychedelia frees the band from any one sound and creates a genre all its own.
This playfulness is especially vibrant in songs like "Rhythm A" and "HAHA lol" which deconstruct and fuse together disparate moments of explosive rock, tender harmonies, percussion made of splashing water, voices from a radio, and electric piano. Even "Feel Better", a sparkly pop ballad is cracked wide open by a long trippy interlude that appears unexpectedly within an otherwise classic structure.
The cover art, created by the band's own Lucas Ufo, invites us into a room in the shape of a human skull. If one looks "out" the window in the picture, one finds oneself looking in to an infinite portal of rooms within rooms. The record plays a lot with this idea of perception. In "HBW", the relationship between the bass and the drums creates the feeling of an infinity loop. The lyrics lend an enigmatic tint to the landscape of so called objective reality v. perceived reality: "I was a phase — you were going through — said I was the one but there is no one — there's only the sun — that gives shape to the moon"
The record starts with "The Room" and ends with "Two Doors". Maybe one door is an exit, and one leads to another room... who knows The song has something mysterious and expansive, like a digital ocean flooding the room, carrying everything away. The whole process of making a record is about capturing a moment in time. This is the record they made - in this point in time, all together, in a room. The last words of the record roll out with the waves: "What you leave behind for someone else to find — Two doors inside — neither one is right"

Peter Kadergard has been active in the Helsingborg (Sweden) electronic music scene since the early 1990's. He was involved in various collaborations during the 90's and appeared on a few cassette releases under the names Grodans Fodelsedag, Marchentraum and Mannix System. Peter released his first Rittowski record on the Borft sub label Djuring Phonogram in 2004. Apart from this electro project Peter is a member of the bands Goz Mongo Alliance and Inyurmania, who has made a few releases on the Ufo Mongo, Pripuzzi and Skiboy record labels. This is new Electro!
The young Dutch DJ & producer Lewski debuts on Darko Esser's Wolfskuil Limited series with 'Folkloric Human' EP presenting four fine Electro / Techno cuts.The title track opens the EP with a blend of old school electro and distinctly modern techno, featuring rhythmic bouncy beats and a playful built up perfect for the floor, followed by 'Phase Mistress', a vintage sounding beauty with captivating bass sequences and plenty of analog flavor.'EreBus' kicks off the B-side with its twisted drive, cyborg samples and sinister attitude that justifies it's name been derived from the mythological god of darkness. The atmospheric, Detroit flavored 'Decommissioned Androids' rounds the EP off with tight basslines and relentless analog madness.Lewski's debut EP on Patron Records last year gained support by the likes of Ben UFO, DJ Stingray and Umwelt. Lewski is part of a select cut of young artists who are absorbing electro's legacy, carrying it into the future and with his release on Wolfskuil Limited we can be sure that the future looks very promising.

With the 'Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal EP', Dutch producer Parrish Smith works outside of the realm of genres and tempos, creating his own unique template of saturated, electronic post-punk, having won accolades from the likes of Nina Kraviz, and Ron Morelli along the way. An analogue purist at heart, Parrish Smith has already amassed a cult following with regular appearances on Red Light Radio, in which the anarcho-experimentalist broadcasts sessions of heavy industrialism, breakbeats and body music.
Parrish Smith's music brings together classic analogue gear and a love for the fusion of aggressive industrial sounds. With title track 'Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal', Parrish Smith channels his inner Alan Vega, with some screaming guitars, and 65bpm machine-crunching body beats, lurching into a sultry space of slick wave music. 'Mute' jacks up the feeling of tempo, rife with energetic drum machines, pulsing synths and retro-fitted vocals, similar to the sound of something Daniel Miller might have released himself back in the early 80s. 'SKINS', delves further into the mechanical, with a grinding bass that bleeds through the track's entirety, while 'Fall into sin' sees him explore the world of deconstructed, gothic-pop yet further. Parrish Smith will be DJing, and performing live as Volition Immanent at this year's Dekmantel Festival, to fulfil the festival's charter of provocative, and intoxicating, energetic beat-filled music.
Garage Shelter aka Signal ST is a french producer who did mainly tracks for skylax under the name Garage Shelter that has been praised by BEN UFO, MOVE D or MAD REY (D.ko). He signed also some eps on Midi - deux & House puff (DJ Steaw). He's also behing the Bleu Blanc House project (with hardrock striker label's head honcho). Elektroliza is a series of club events formed by a group of dedicated electronic music enthusiasts in 2006. It is hosted by Ljubljana's Channel Zero, a legendary club that is part of the autonomous social centre Metelkova which used to be the Slovenian headquarters of the Yugoslav National Army.Filling a void in Slovenia's electronic dance scene, the night was a hit from the start and quickly grew into a diverse and successful series focusing on new and exciting electro, acid and dark techno.Elektroliza hosted many memorable DJ and live acts by performers/producers/pioneers coming out of international music incubators in Gothenburg, The Hague, Berlin and as far as Detroit. Even more importantly, it brought together producers and crews from the former Yugoslav republics of Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia. Inside the former Yugoslavian military barracks DJs and producers from Skopje to Ljubljana began bonding again through music, forming new friendships, starting new collaborations and dancing the night away... in 'Electro City Ljubljana'.This first double vinyl compilation of the Balkan Elektroliza family is a collection of our shared memories and visions of the future to come.

We're very happy to welcome the mighty Historical Repeater, for their first full ep. Historical Repeater is the collaborative project of Ctrls and Solid Blake, and here they unload four tracks of supreme sonic quality. Channeling the spirit of classic techno with high-level sound design, alongside tricky, raw electro that doesn't compromise, Historical Repeater arrive with a carefully distilled sound that stands out from the crowd. From the trance-inducing title track 'Scientific Calculator' to the insistent, pulsing groove of closing cut 'Say Nothing', this record is especially characterized by its weird vox hooks and deft rhythms - underpinned by a swirling sea of dynamic, digital synthesis. Sanskrit scriptures mention the term vimana as flying vehicles or temples. Consequently, the sound of this ancient UFO has been captured into the grooves of this vinyl record. The soundscapes of Rukma Vimana dig deep into the dirty history of raw and hypnotic industrial techno. Nobody said that spiritual journeys are a clean endeavour. A1 marches forward into the dark lands of dirty drums and urges you to follow it, as it's your duty to dance hard in this life. Flip the vinyl and the needle will tickle your subconsciousness. Excavating deep tantalizing melodies and dusty basslines, one should not get lost in the palace of this unknown god. Closing with a meditative sketch, B2 leaves us puzzled about the vortex of energy we've just been through.

Following a run of local transmissions from A Sagittariun, Crump, Rob Smith and Atki2, Idle Hands turns its attention to Berlin and the straight-up, no-nonsense techno thrust of Johanna Knutsson and Hans Berg. Both respected artists and DJs in their own right, the pair have been turning out 12"s together for The Free Spirit Society, Klasse and Crime City Disco over the past few years, but most importantly they've been steering the excellent UFO Station Recordings as a vessel for their punchy, primal techno tracks.
The sound on this EP taps into the pure form of stern, dark dancefloor tackle favoured at Idle Hands - no extraneous filler, plenty of space in the mix, but equally built with warmth and personality rather than monochrome functionality. If you need further proof, just look to the fact the EP is named after a Swedish soap opera from the 90s.
The bleeps and bass tones that pulse through "Taggen" are so finely crafted they need not skip and dance around the arrangement. The melodic interplay on "Klimax" is subtle but ultimately uplifting and optimistic where so much techno concerns itself with oppressive gloom. "Bimbo" finds the pair embracing a more psychedelic approach, but even here the modulating effects processes are kept within certain boundaries so as to not dilute the impact on the floor. After all, this is music to dance to, to be felt over a large system (where possible).
Moving from leftfield bass excursions to minimalist 2-step, UK techno and now onto this much more continental sound, theMälarviken EP continues to widen the range of Idle Hands' musical tastes without losing sight of the complete picture.
Alongside De Gama, Pierandrea The Professor aka Les Inferno is the man behind the much-loved Samosa imprint. A DJ for over 30 years, 'The Professor' is well known in his native Italy as a true vinyl connoisseur, a fact that's no doubt attributable to a seventy-thousand strong vinyl collection.
And so it is that he pipes up with the label's latest. Under his Les Inferno alias, Pierandrea concocts two classic jams (and two neat interpretations of each). A full-scale disco explosion, the EP is a treat for fans of sun-kissed house, the likes of which is sure to win plaudits from DJs such as Prosumer, Hunee and Ben UFO.
The action kicks off courtesy of the original Everything I Do'. Produced with an obscure disco sample at its core, it's a dreamy anthem with roots that will speak to fans of vintage Loft records especially. Effortlessly simple but devilishly catchy, it's the perfect tonic with which to help ease the autumn blues. The 'breakdown'
version strips the original of its vocals, allowing the drums to take centre stage alongside its gorgeous melodies.
On the flip, What Do You Think' goes even funkier still, with its dancefloor prowess epitomised by a vocal that wouldn't sound of place in Paradise Garage. A truly momentous record, it's sure to unleash pandemonium on any DJ it's allowed to let loose on. If you're after something similar but without the campness of the original,
there's a dub version that ought to do the trick. A stunning release throughout.

In terms of experimental, techno, very few come close to the impact that this UK producer has had on the scene. With a sound that is rarely classifiable, Randomer's Dekmantel contribution is a staggered, minimally-twisted, dark, kind-of-two step, awesome thing. Versatile Records' Gilb'R has found himself an integral part of the Dutch scene since moving to Amsterdam, and brings forth his organic, percussive grooves that have helped define his music, and label to date. Salon Des Amateurs' Tolouse Low Trax provides a seasoned session of amniotic, grizzled, hypnotic post-everything music, that is eerily discomforting and wonderfully pleasurable at the same time. And on the EP's fourth track, Parisian techno wizard, Voiski adds layered organic, futuristic loops that work to stale the progress of time, and space.
To date the 10-year anniversary series has seen new releases by the likes of The Egyptian Lover, Levon Vincent, Gigi Masin, Fatima Yamaha, Burnt Friedman, and many more. Each record is held together by stylistic glue, touching upon the varying facets that come to define Dekmantel as a label, and event series. Along the way, many pioneering artists have been brought under the Dekmantel umbrella, making their debuts on the label - and this, the seventh EP is of no exception, with Gilb'R, and Tolouse Low Trax all releasing their first full tracks with the Dutch imprint, while Randomer and Voiski, having previously released on Dekmantel's UFO techno side imprint, are also brought into the main fold.

The different rhythm patterns included in Surdinia melt organically with the acid lines, the high UFO whistles and spaceship-like sound effects, exploding into an unexpected and comfortable piano house line, solving the puzzle and leaving you thirsty for more. Meccanica is a slow tempo gem, It combines elements of industrial and Balearic with a touch of submarine-like soundscapes. Ramos and Trent's music-making philosophy is as special as unique. The multitude of elements that compose each track has its own life cycle, its own ecosystem.
Live Ones returns with Lorca after a six-year hiatus. Having released his debut record LIVE001 'Moments' we've teamed up again to relaunch as a home for the edits, refixes and sample heavy music produced by friends and family that we love so much.
After a brief break from production duties, Lorca moves away from the eclectic, melodic style he's been known for and returns with a new sound and aesthetic. The 'Tribute to Eddie' EP firmly nods at Detroit, New York and Chicago House styles and is dotted with a wide array of influences and soulful sampling throughout.
Having previously released EPs and singles with Naked Naked, Dummy Records, 2020 and the like, Lorca's ear for melody has earned him fans from across the board with his music being supported by a diverse array of DJ's from Ben UFO to Bonobo to Pete Tong. His contribution to the A side of Dance 2017 Part 2 sees him on fine form with the devastating rhythm of 'Hygh-Tech'. Kicking off with a rough and ready groove the hook is a gnarly nagging synth line that will worm its way into your brain. Add a sampled wailing diva and some more jazzy interludes and you have a festival-ready high grade bomb on your hands! On the flip steps up France's Bastien Carrara. His dusty jams on the likes of Rawthenticity and Funkineven's Apron imprint caught our attention and we roped him in for a track. Here he presents the charming, breezy and breaky 'That Time Again'. Warm, atmospheric and groovy this is definitely one for long summer nights ahead. Last up Jayson Wynters represents the UK! Jayson made his debut on none other than Mr G's Phoenix G. imprint with the sub-aquatic 'Unfamiliar Territories' EP. He is an amazing DJ and selector able to play house / techno sets and also jazz, boogie, disco and funk sets where required at the likes of Brilliant Corners. 'Chi Kung' is a bubbling, mystical percussive number with hand played drums and a perfect closer to the EP.
