"More Dangerous Dub" enthält nicht weniger als 14 unveröffentlichte Tracks der Roots Radics, aufgenommen mit King Tubby in den Channel Studios.

With his first release since 2015, Seattle based Indie-folk hero Rocky Votolato returns with Wild Roots, an intimate concept album inspired by and written for his family. Each song a letter dedicated to a specific family member and focused on a special memory or moment in time. After losing his child in December of 2021 in a tragic car accident, the entire album, and especially the song “Becoming Human”, now a posthumous love letter, takes on an even deeper while devastatingly bittersweet meaning. The production on Wild Roots is hushed, handcrafted, and warm — an intimate and personal experience that brings the nature of Votolato’s storytelling to life in very authentic and genuine ways. Produced, engineered, and mixed by Votolato himself, the record is a deliberate construction of his conceptual vision and new phase of his recording career. Additionally, the record features a stellar cast of renowned musicians whose contributions perfectly compliment the delicate nature of these songs — Abby Gundersen (William Fitzsimmons) on piano, string arrangements, and vocal harmonies, James McAllister (Sufjan Stevens, The National) on drums and percussion, Phil Wandscher (Whiskeytown, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter) on electric guitar, and Marcel Gein (Perry O’Parson) on electric guitar. In many ways, Wild Roots is not only a break in silence for Votolato, but the opening of a new chapter — one that feels laser focused on what really matters in life. After 11 long years Pohjola reignites it's furnace to bring a new release by a (let's pretend he's) young Serbian producer Lag. Finding a common language in pursuing the unsaid parts of techno, labelboss Rivet aka Grovskopa and Lag turned their long, meme-and-trolling-fueled friendship into a gorgeous-looking record (art by Trudy Creen, additional design work by Dejan Ilic). The music it bears is as offset as it is functional: offering a palette of both straight and broken beats driven by vocal snippets, genre-defying arrangements and, most importantly, scream-inducing club moments. Trust us, we tried them in the wild.

The Jive Aces are the UK's top jive and swing band and are renowned for their high-energy jump jive and spectacular stage show in their hallmark yellow suits. The band’s repertoire stretches from the timeless tunes of the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack, with a dash of rhythm & blues, swinging jazz and the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Elvis.
Originally forming in London the band gained steady success year by year and are the first live band to reach the semi-finals of "Britain’s Got Talent" famously putting grumpy Simon Cowell “in a good mood”. This was followed by a performance to the late Her Majesty The Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. They are unquestionably the UK’s finest band in their genre.
They performed at hundreds of festivals including Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival and The Hop Farm Festival to name a few. They also headlined and sold out the first ever swing dance at the Royal Albert Hall. By popular demand the band will be featuring in their own show in London’s West End at the Aldwych Theatre this December.
During the pandemic, the band performed consecutively for over 500 days with free concerts on line to cheer people up and help get through the tough times.The band has a one month US tour scheduled for 2023 and diary full of shows throughout UK and Europe. They are in constant demand.

Official re-issue and re-mastered 7-Inch single for much sampled singer Johnny Osbourne. "Ice Cream Love" (based on the 'He Prayed' riddim) is the 1980 tune produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes and recorded at Channel One studio with the Roots Radics Band. "Extra Time One" is the dub version mixed by Overton "Scientist" Brown at King Tubby's studio.

Als Kodaline Anfang März 2022 die Bühne des gemütlichen, ausverkauften Olympia Theaters in Dublin betraten, spürten Sänger/Multiinstrumentalist Steve Garrigan, Bassist/Sänger Jason Boland, Gitarrist/Sänger Mark Prendergast und Schlagzeuger/Sänger Vinny May ein tiefes Gefühl der Erneuerung, ihrer Freundschaft, ihrer Brüderlichkeit und ihrer musikalischen Gemeinschaft.

Das geliebte irische Quartett spürte auch ein Gefühl der Befreiung. Zwei Jahre der pandemiebedingten Trennung voneinander und von dem Publikum, das sie sich seit 2011 akribisch aufgebaut hatten, hatten deutlich gemacht, wie wichtig diese symbiotische Beziehung wirklich ist.

Produziert von Phillip Magee, einem irischen Weggefährten, bietet ”Our Roots Run Deep” einen Querschnitt der beliebtesten Stücke der Gruppe und drei aufschlussreiche Coverversionen in über 80 Minuten Musik.

”Dieses Album ist etwas, das wir schon sehr lange machen wollten, aber es ist auch etwas völlig Neues für uns”, erklärt die Band. ”Es ist eine akustische Show ohne Klicks, was im Grunde bedeutet, dass es sehr roh und ungefiltert ist. Wir wollten versuchen, die Energie und Atmosphäre des Abends so gut wie möglich einzufangen. Es war eine intime Show, die wir in einem unserer Lieblingsorte auf der Welt aufgenommen haben, in Dublin City, zu Hause in Irland.”
