Die hochgeschätzten Euro-Metal-Pioniere OZ wurden 1977 in der kleinen finnischen Stadt Nakilla ursprünglich als Cover-Band gegründet. Die Band bestand aus Mark Ruffneck (bürgerlicher Name Pekka Mark) am Schlagzeug, Sänger Ape DeMartine (Tapani Hämäläinen), Bassist Tauno Vajavaara sowie Kario Elo an der Gitarre.

Nachdem man in jedem Winkel des Heimatlandes Finnland live gespielt hatte, zogen OZ 1983 nach Stockholm um und unterschrieben einen Vertrag bei Börje Forsbergs Label Tyfon Grammofon AB Börje Forsberg, auch als The Boss bekannt, war der Sohn von Bathorys Quorthon.

In der Folge avancierten OZ zu einer der wichtigsten Heavy-Metal-Bands Skandinaviens und nahmen insgesamt fünf Studioalben auf, eher im Winter 1991/92 das Ende kam.

Nach »OZ« (1982), »Fire In The Brain« (1983) sowie »III Warning« (1984) war »Decibel Storm« 1985 das vierte Album der finnischen Schweden.

Are you Looking for Love? Advice? Good Luck? Then you’ve come to the right place. Fortune Three, the third release in the Psychic Readings catalog, Peach continues to explore her sound bringing 4 tracks dedicated to the dance.

It starts with In Ur Dreams, an ode to the dreamers and lovers in your fantasies. Peach gives some subtle organ hits a whirl with deeper basslines and punchy drums. Next, a track inspired by and sampling an old Christina Aguilera interview, What U Got is a warm, beachy roller which is reminiscent of hotter temperatures. Pretty pads, shiny stabs, and a weighty bassline create an endlessly playful groove – a Peach signature.

On the flip, we see Brady’s Song mixed two ways – the first being the deeper cut of the two, Brady’s Song slowly unravels melody after melody, playing with sassy stabs and a bassline on the subbier side. The Afters Edit takes a more upfront and jacking approach, focusing on the ability of the bass to roll through the whole track – shimmering percussion and the same stabs from the B1 carry us through until the last second.

All the tracks are a testament to her many moods as a DJ. From club use to home listening, this is an EP dedicated to the dance.

Each track unfolds like a story - warm, textured, and deeply hypnotic. From glowing deep house grooves to magical, dub-touched explorations, this collection captures the label’s unique spirit: intimate, timeless, and endlessly inviting. The story begins with Kevin Morby absentmindedly flipping through a box of old family photos in the basement of his childhood home in Kansas City. Just hours before, at a family dinner, his father had collapsed in front of him and had to be rushed to the hospital. That night Morby still felt the shock and fear lodged in his bones. So he gazed at the images until one of the pictures jumped out at him: his father as a young man, proud and strong and filled with confidence, posing on a lawn with his shirt off. This was in January of 2020. As the months went on and the world dramatically changed around him, Morby felt an eerie similarity between his feelings of that night and the atmosphere of those spring days. Fear, anxiety, hope and resilience all churning together. The themes began twisting in his mind. History, trauma and the grand fight against time. Having the courage to dream, even while knowing the tragedy that often awaits those who dare to dream. While his father regained his strength, Morby meditated on these ideas. And then, he headed to Memphis. He moved into the Peabody Hotel and spent his days paying tribute and genuflecting to the dreamers he admired. In the evening, he would return to his room and document his ideas on a makeshift recording set-up, with just his guitar and a microphone. The songs, elegiac in nature, befitting all he had seen, poured out of him.Produced by Sam Cohen (who also worked on Morby’s Singing Saw and Oh My God), This Is A Photograph features musical contributions from longtime staples of Morby’s live band, as well as old friends and new collaborators alike. If Oh My God saw Morby getting celestial and in constant motion and Sundowner was a study in localized intent, This Is A Photograph finds Morby making an Americana paean, a visceral life and death, blood on the canvas outpouring. As Morby reminds us early on, time is undefeated. So what do we do while we’re still here? This is a photograph of that sense of yearning

Firing remix package of cuts from two legendary album's from Brazil's Orquestra Afro-Brasileira. Feat

Two albums - Obaluayê (1957) and Orquestra Afro-Brasileira (1968) - were enough for Orquestra Afro-Brasileira to mark its history in music forever. Born in 1942 in Rio de Janeiro by its founder Abigail Moura, it remained active until 1970 and, in 2021, was revived by the only living member of the original line-up at the time, Carlos Negreiros, when the third and final album in the orchestra's career, entitled 80 years, was released by Amor in Sound/Night Dreamer. Today (31) the album gets its remix version with tracks signed by names of the caliber of Marcelo D2, Criolo, Pupillo, Emicida, Rael, Cut Chemist, Mexican Institute of Sound, among others.

Aiming to keep the legacy of the Orquestra Afro-Brasileira alive, the album 80 Anos (Remixes) reaffirms the group's relevance as a creative source for different generations of musicians and listeners, based on new interpretations produced by artists who are also fans of the orchestra. According to Mario Caldato Jr., the album's musical director, "it was a great joy when I got to know the work of the Afro-Brazilian Orchestra and, soon after, had the honor of meeting and working with Carlos Negreiros. Producing 80 Anos alongside him was a gift and being able to look back on it, having the remix album to celebrate this legacy, is really wonderful."

For Amor in Sound - Mario and Samantha Caldato's record label - this release faithfully represents their values: Respect for memory, diversity, friendship and the possibility of creating new worlds. Made in a totally collaborative way, the album is born as a historical record, interpreted by great names in current music and, above all, great friends. “Being able to do this is indescribable, the value of relationships makes up and continues the legacy of the Orquestra Afro Brasileira,” says Samantha.

The project brings together Brazilians Criolo, Emicida, Rael, Marcelo D2, Lucio Maia, Pupillo, Rogê, Tropkillaz, Kassin, Pedro Dom, Zilladxg, Nuts, Daniel Ganjaman, Imperatore and Nave, as well as international DJs and producers such as Mix Master Mike, Cut Chemist, Gaslamp Killer, J Rocc, TASO, Mexican Institute of Sound and Mophono.

Until The End (The Lost Album) features recordings made by Wil Malone throughout 1970, possibly intended as a follow-up to Wil Malone – Wil Malone, which was recorded in mid-1969 and mastered for release on Fontana Records on July 5, 1969.
Recently unearthed from the Morgan Blue Town tape vaults, these tracks offer a compelling mix of ’60s pop and bubblegum, diverging from the original album’s string-heavy, progressive-psych sound. All the material comprises either demos or finished masters, recorded over several months. With the exception of the brass parts — performed by session musicians — all instruments were played by Wil Malone himself.
It’s a shame the debut didn’t achieve greater commercial success, as it might have brought these follow-up recordings to light much earlier, back in the 1970s.

Fog is Marija Rasa’s debut album on Short Span as emer, and her first cut to wax. It follows a single featuring Ugnė Uma for Stroom and a wonderful debut tape for the now cult (I hope!) incubator label Lilerne Tape Club.

It’s for dreamers. Very dub. Soul. Ambient too. A bit of Detroit-like post industrial imagining. You can read it is as a new and different version of a very classic dub technique from the producer in many ways - Marija at the mixing console and effects desk, conjuring a new versioned music through radical restructuring and an instinctive reshaping of space + melody + lyric in studio experimentation.

Tracks are pinned down by thick and enveloping bass while other elements float in and out, fleeting narcotic or hypnagogic notes of fantasy and song form bob in and out of focus. Scant colours and disorienting voice and melody sit suspended, occasionally coalescing and breaking out into moments of radiant beauty and slowly burning manifestations of warmth and presence shooting through the heart and gut.
