In this, the return of the one and only XI to the last standing first wave US Dubstep label LoDubs, which brought him out onto the scene over a decade and a half ago with the Jazz-step a’la Silkie preceding anthem “G-Funk 3000”, XI once again shows he has an indelible gift for making choons that are system rocking and cerebral all at once.

Heavy support from a slew of sound system stretchers. Currently being heavily featured by Distinct Motive on his tour spots, of which XI is joining the DM on selected dates.

Boogiemonsters were an American hip hop group composed of Bronx‑born rapper Mondo McCann, Alaskan native Vex Da Vortex (Sean Pollard), and Jamaican‑born brothers Myntric (Sean Myers) and Yodared (Ivor “Al” Myers). The members met while attending Virginia State University, quickly connected, and began recording demos and performing at campus events. Their early momentum led them to win first place at Howard University’s Hip‑Hop Convention.

Pendulum/EMI record label signed the four MCs and released their debut album Riders Of The Storm: The Underwater Album in 1994. The first single, “Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress,” introduced their thoughtful, alternative approach to hip hop. It was followed by “Honeydips in Gotham,” a smooth tribute to the fly sistas of the city, and “Strange,” built around a slick Cameo sample. Another standout track, “Salt Water Taffy (Slo Jam),” is noted as one of the earliest non‑Roots session appearances by future producer Scott Storch.

Riders Of the Storm: The Underwater Album delivers a focused blend of rugged beats, sharp lyricism, and atmospheric production that stands apart in the 90s hip hop landscape. Its mix of conscious themes and deep grooves makes it essential for fans of underground hip hop. The album’s mellow, funky, alternative sound sits comfortably alongside groups like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, giving it a timeless place in the era’s most creative and forward‑thinking releases.

Named after the Latin word for the humble house spider, Oonops started his career as a club DJ in the early 2000s and has been collecting and playing strictly vinyl ever since.

In 2013, he started his own radio show » Oonops Drops«, a monthly mixtape-style show featuring a host of international top DJs, broadcast on Brooklyn Radio in New York City. This show inspired the first volume of this compilation, which was released in early 2018 on Agogo Records, alongside the album and 7-inch releases featuring artists from his radio network. Then, exactly five years ago, Oonops finally founded his own sustainable music label bearing the eponymous name. Now, just in time for the 200th episode of his Brooklyn Radio show, Oonops returns to Agogo Records with Vol. 3, which is packed with favourites and rare gems discovered through his extensive community of like-minded collaborators. As you would expect, it includes many unreleased songs that were previously only available digitally or were incredibly difficult to obtain on vinyl – true rarities from the crates. Expect a broad selection of genres, ranging from Japanese jazz and head-nodding beats and hip hop to samba-esque funk, rare groove, reggae and Brazilian-influenced styles. Der "König des Wüstenblues" galt als einer der renommiertesten und talentiertesten Gitarristen, die Afrika je hervorgebracht hat. Das Rolling Stone Magazin wählte den 2006 verstorbenen Musiker unter die einhundert besten Gitarristen aller Zeiten. In Alis Sound verschmolzen traditionelle malische Musikstile mit verschiedenen Elementen des Blues, wobei er in den lokalen Sprachen Songhay, Tamasheq, Fulfulde und Bambara sang. Das Ergebnis war die Schaffung eines bahnbrechenden neuen Genres, das heute als "Wüstenblues" bekannt ist und Ali drei Grammy-Auszeichnungen, weltweite Anerkennung und den Spitznamen "afrikanischer John Lee Hooker" einbrachte. Die Kollaboration zwischen Khruangbin und Vieux Farka Touré zollt Alis Vermächtnis Tribut, indem sie einige seiner wirkungsvollsten Werke neu interpretiert und mit verschiedenen Sounds experimentiert, ohne die Integrität des Originals zu vernachlässigen. Das Ergebnis ist eine würdige Hommage an eine Legende, die eine erfrischende westafrikanische Mischung aus musikalischen Referenzen schafft. Dabei bewahrt sich das Quartett die natürliche Improvisation seiner Musik und bringt auch ihre eigene ein. Es passt, dass Vieux das texanische Trio auswählte, um das Erbe seines Vaters zu ehren. Der psychedelische Funk von Khruangbin findet inzwischen weltweiten Anklang.

When Elder Island went into the studio to record the followup to their critically acclaimed 2021 album, Swimming Static, they were determined to "turn everything on its head". Chinese American Bear return in 2026 with their third album, Dim Sum & Then Some, released in May via cult UK label Moshi Moshi.

“Dim Sum & Then Some was started the day after we finished our 2024 album Wah!!!. We were having a lot of fun and inspiration was still high,” the band explain. “The album explores themes around what we love—food, little joys, fun simple nonsense, China, love, anthems, and fairytales. It’s a collage of our life, distilled into positivity and lightheartedness.”

Often described as The Flaming Lips, Dusty Springfield, and The Beach Boys having a baby with a Care Bear, Chinese American Bear’s music is bursting with comedy, groove, quirk, and cuteness. Dim Sum & Then Some is melodically rich and joyfully maximalist, weaving together psychedelia, doses of funk, and lush instrumentation, with plenty of lyrics devoted to the simple pleasure of filling up your belly with good food.

a collaboration forged over the years with Francesco Borrelli, a sound engineer, musician and performer who has shaped Gerardo’s recordings for the last ten years and more. It embodies the natural evolution and fulfillment of a shared journey, a dedicated pursuit of sound and vision, and a creative dialogue where concept and execution become one.



“Meridio” primarily defines the project’s geographical roots: Francesco, from Naples, and Gerardo, with ties to southern Calabria, carry a Mediterranean sensibility that emerges organically, not as a mere reference but as an attitude: a sense of fluid rhythm, a constant tension between order and improvisation, between elegance and instinct. The titles of the two tracks included on this 7-inch single – ‘Partenope’ and ‘Ligea’, muses and symbols of the Mediterranean Sea – draw on mythological imagery and further reinforce the connection to a profound cultural dimension.



The result is a dense yet layered sound that openly embraces the funk and progressive aesthetics of the 70s and 80s, reprocessing them in a contemporary spirit; a language effortlessly moving between arrangement and production, between timbral exploration and rhythmic immediacy.

Originally issued on Paul Winley Records in 1973, “Smokin' Cheeba-Cheeba”—with Ann Winley on vocals—became a cornerstone of the 1980s UK Rare Groove scene, earning cult-classic status among collectors and DJs alike. On the flip, “Dance Girl”—also released under the Rimshots name—serves up one of the era’s most revered up-tempo breaks. Its unmistakable groove has been sampled by The Roots, Large Professor, and many others, cementing its place in hip-hop production history. The creative nucleus behind both The Mighty Tom Cats and The Rimshots would later evolve into the legendary Fatback Band, adding another layer of pedigree to this essential pairing. Celebrating three decades of cutting-edge electronic music, iconic Canadian Melleefresh’s Play Records marks its 30th anniversary with a premium collector’s edition vinyl release. Founded in 1996, Play Records was the launchpad for much of deadmau5’s early catalogue as he rose to global stardom. This special anniversary edition dives deep into the Play Records archives, showcasing previously unreleased gems, exclusive tracks, and rare remixes and covers spanning the label’s storied history. The release comes as a 2×LP transparent yellow vinyl, housed in an iconic artwork sleeve with photography marking the label’s rich legacy.

A new release curated by Mystic Jungle, founder of Periodica Records, who - together with a small group of artists - has spent the past decade shaping a distinctive sound in his recording studio based in one of the most remote areas of Napoli.

This second release on the West Hill Music catalogue features the voice of American singer Roxana, alongside guitar contributions by Yugoslavian musician Igor Sekulović.

The A-side, "Can’t Make You Out", unfolds as a crepuscular track with a laid-back, exotic atmosphere, marked by subtle funk-rock influences. On the B-side, a stripped-down mutant-funk track built around electronic drums and a repeated vocal chorus leaves space for minimal arrangements and textured guitar lines to emerge.

ELSI celebrates the 40th anniversary of Marimba Do Mar with a special reissue of the highly sought-after record produced by Roberto Lodola, one of the pioneers of Italy’s Afro-Funk movement.

Four decades on, Marimba Do Mar remains a true Balearic anthem. This special edition includes Feeling Of The Sun, created in 2014 from rediscovered original tapes and reimagined by Lodola into a sun-soaked, electronic version of the original. The B-side delivers two vinyl debuts: Marty’s Beach, driven by elegant piano riffs and a memorable sax solo from long time collaborator Alessandro Bertozzi, and Mother Africa (Ibiza Dub Mix), a deep Afro-Funk interpretation in a modern electronic key produced during his stay on the magic island.

This limited pressing, distributed by Sound Metaphors, offers selectors a rare opportunity to celebrate a landmark chapter in Balearic history, with ELSI placing your next summer record directly into your hands.

Arguably one of Get Physical’s most influential tracks, ‘O Superman’ sees a new release with remixes from Man Power and SIS alongside the 2008 version from Robag Whrume and a remaster of the now classic original. Man Power kicks off the new interpretations with an epic, ten and half minute version that patiently stretches the original’s melodies into pads and held bass tones across crisp, micro-house styled beats before unleashing loose, clattering breakbeats after a striking, extended breakdown. SIS’s dreamy, percussive version sees the German producer in hypnotic, and tracky form, focussing on the ebb and flow of the original’s tuneful vocoder and synth work that drift across his perfect groove. Robag’s Pumper-Nikkel remix, for those that missed it some years back, is yet another funky, chopped, sliced and diced piece of work from the playful producer and still sounds as fresh as ever.
