Coming at you hard with a brand new release, thats moved away from or usual unissued releases. DJ Rude Lead played me a demo he and Tom Noble from Superior Elevation cooked up whist Tom was in Denmark deejaing. They approached in indemand vocals of Jay Nemor from the states., who layed over some killer sultry lyrics and tones. The song was only in demo form, so Super Disco Edits in house engineer Matt Fletcher and Owner of Super Disco Edits Russell Paine gave the song the boost and heaviness it desired! We really are pleased with the result, thats cut super loud and sounds awesome over a big system
And so Solar Phenomena's astral adventures continue into the furthest corners of the technoid galaxy Having executed a safe and successful take-off earlier this summer with Echoplex' s 'Solar Experience', the new label continues to explore the stars with rising Roman Antonio Ruscito.
Following releases on Who Whom and Edit Select earlier this year, Ruscito navigates us through a conceptual suite that questions ideas of existence and loneliness within a reality that blurs with virtuality at such a pace we have to question everything. One thing that doesn't need questioning is the forthright and stark nature of these constructions.
'Seclusion One' plays the role of the rocket-fuelled take-off track. Setting the scene and plotting the route, there's a subtly evolving and mutating feel while the end-point remains focused with a consistent feel of elevation thanks to the rich textures entwined into every element of the rhythm and energy.
Onward we travel: 'Seclusion Two' takes much more of an introspective route as it rolls out a much more stripped back evocative journey that s creative subverted by Rephlex-affiliate and respected Finnish artist Aleksi Perala one his electro-referencing remix.
Finally we're brought back down to our home asteroid with the beautiful harmonics and hazed aesthetics of 'Seclusion Three'. Presented in two different forms one star-struck instrumental and one featuring the redolent dulcets of Sam the message and overall experience is one of hope and unity, glaring in the face of personal, technological and cultural isolation. It s time to come together
Soda Gong presents a razor sharp collection of rigorous and imaginative new music from Moscow-by-way-of-St.Petersburg-based musician and producer Flaty. "Generic TARGZ" places Flaty's precipitously complex drum programming and keen ear for atmosphere and space at the forefront, offering up a dynamic array of techno, ambient, generative footwork, and other tougher to pigeonhole rhythmic experiments. It is a dizzying and cohesive document in which ethereal productions, such as "Praaai" wherein a bewitching vocal pad hovers over delicate, pin-prick percussion, sit comfortably alongside tightly controlled chaos, as with the synapse-knotting "Thread" and heavy-hitting "Horn of Plenty".
Over the past few years, Flaty has released a wealth of diverse and uniformly excellent music under monikers such as AEM Rhythm Cascade, Dada Ques, and Wrong Water. He is most closely associated with the influential GOST ZVUK label, but his work has also appeared on imprints such as 12th Isle, Muscut, and his own ANWO Records. Although Flaty serves as his primary alias, "Generic TARGZ" is only the artist's second full-length under the moniker, following 2016's "New Suggestions", a high-water mark in the impeccable GOST ZVUK catalog. Mastered by Rashad Becker at D&M. Artwork and design by Alex McCullough and Niall Wynne Lewis.
