EMEX is the emergent project of Modular Expansion. The "né.on" project expresses a contemporary retrofuturism that is based on current but simultaneously changing concepts of "the future". Retrofuturism embodies two overlapping trends that can be summarized as the future as seen from the past and the past as seen from the future.
EMEX is the latest project from Modular Expansion, marking the reunion of George Apergis and Alex Retsis after eight years. Together, they've developed EMEX Live in an entirely new dimension. This release features two techno tracks with a classic old-school flavor, recorded during the EMEX Live performance at the Phygital Audiovisual event. Phygital, an immersive experience curated by Modular Expansion, was supported by the Greek Ministry of Culture and the National Opera. Held at the Castle of Rio, the event showcased live audiovisual performances that blended digital and physical instruments.
The Touch Infinity project involves the creation of works of art based on Spira and the way it is harmonized in modern art, an action with an emphasis on design and contemporary electronic music. We live in a spiral galaxy. The first sensation that a spiral shape gives is the image of evolution and the will to touch the infinity. Modern technology and binary code give us the ability to touch the infinity. With the use of modern technology, the music will be rendered in addition to vinyl and in shape and color in the form of a spiral ceramic vase.

EMEX "Mimas EP" includes two original tracks "Mimas" a hard kicker with minimal synth-lines, percussive rhythms followed by trippy arpeggios and "Andromeda" a hypnotic, minimal track with deep Berlin influence chords, which progresses into darker territories while the dark strings come. The release includes also two massive remixes. The first one "Mimas" has been remixed by Radial, who has created a perfect groovy tool with his unique classic style, an instant hit. The second remix is coming from SLV, who is making "Andromeda" darker with his pumping futuristic version.
