This expansive journey blends atmospheric and post- black metal with progressive rock, folk, and ambient textures. Unlike the previous album's medium- length tracks, this work unfolds in three sprawling suites, each flowing organically across genres, anchored by Bruno Augusto Ribeiro's lyrics and Caio Lemos's evocative vocals and instrumentation. The opening track, Legado, sets a primordial, threatened landscape, combining aggressive black metal riffs, driving percussion, and melodic interludes of flute and acoustic guitar, shifting between fury and melancholy. Os Cacadores ("The Hunters") balances dreamlike atmospheres and confrontational energy, contrasting Ribeiro's harsh vocals with Lemos's melodic delivery, weaving climactic guitar passages with contemplative ambient moments.

Belgian producer and DJ Ethan Fawkes returns with Funky Raver, a vibrant six-track vinyl release that channels the spirit of 70s funk and disco through a modern electronic lens. It features three originals alongside remixes from Victor Muerte, A.Fruit and Nite Fleit.

Fawkes, known for pairing raw rhythm with emotional punch, dives headfirst into the golden age of groove and rebuilds it for today's dance floor. The result feels warm and energetic, fresh take that nods to disco's roots while pushing forward.

Each remixer takes the core idea in a new direction without losing its heartbeat.

Victor Muerte takes "Funky Raver" track into a remix out a driving techno rework marked by hypnotic whiper repetition. It taps into the darker side of the groove, building steady pressure and giving the release a powerful late-night edge.

A.Fruit flips her version of "Get the Groove" into a fast, broken beat-driven workout full of tight percussion and futuristic low-end, giving the original a kinetic bass-forward storm that keeps the momentum surging.

Nite Fleit, the producer with a reputation for bold, genre-blending club tracks, injects her remix with electro pressure. She delivers a high-voltage version of "I Misplaced You" to take that turns the funk foundations into pure rave.

Taken together, the originals and remixes trace a full arc, from glittering disco lights to the throb of the warehouse. Funky Raver is a celebration of groove, motion and emotion. A reminder of how timeless dance-floor energy can be.

Auf dem vierten Album von Chrystia Cabral als SPELLLING verwandelt die Künstlerin aus der Bay Area ihr gefeiertes Avant-Pop-Projekt in einen Spiegel. Cabrals Texte auf „Portrait of My Heart“ befassen sich mit Liebe, Intimität, Angst und Entfremdung und tauschen den allegorischen Ansatz vieler ihrer früheren Werke gegen einen Blick in ihr menschliches Herz. Mexican DJ and producer Hotmood indeed brings the heat on his new EP for the Blur Records gang. It is a fine fusion of disco and house music with rich instrumentals, nice organic sound and plenty of smart samples. Opener 'Disco Power' is a funky and upbeat cut with a powerful bassline and big vocal stabs. Things get more deep and laidback with 'Malandro' which has big sax energy and sunny chords then 'To The Beat Y'all' rounds out the EP with real disco energy. The drums hit hard, big guitar riffs brighten up the mix and subtle filters and FX also pump things to the next level.

Where the previous record lingered in somber reflection, this album begins in that same emotional landscape but quickly blooms into something more vibrant and full of life. The opening track transitions from the cold, atmospheric tones of mourning into a more radiant energy - a sonic awakening symbolising the shift that came after meeting someone who changed everything. Sonically, the record expands Leaving Laurel's signature sound while embracing new textures. Gordon moved away from the lo-fi experimentation of earlier works, leaning instead into a more expressive palette driven by synths and fresh instrumentation, while still preserving the nostalgic warmth that defines Leaving Laurel. The result is a collection that feels both renewed and rooted - a reflection of growth, optimism, and the timeless beauty of connection.

Roughly three years after the release of Balts, Schreel Van De Velde’s debut album on Blickwinkel, the guitar and drums improv-centered duo is happy to present their sophomore album A One And A Two.

The Brussels-based musicians sound more decisive than ever: the loud became louder, the quiet became quieter, the weird became weirder and the nostalgic became more nostalgic. The fruit peeled off one of its own shells, getting closer to its heart.

The album came about as a result of 2 separate studio sessions. For a first one, they restricted themself to solely electric guitar and drums, without overdubs, and with most songs ending up as one-takers. A second one took place some months later in a different recording space, using classical guitar with a matching small, cute drum set-up.

On both sessions, the duo played the same compositions, with some additional improvisations. Afterwards they made a blend of both sessions, mixing both energies: A One And A Two. A new language, organic and well-considered, was found.

Throughout the album, touches of minimalism, American primitivism, free-improv, and 90s indie rock can be found, but always within the limits of Schreel Van De Veldes freshly found voice: one that combines sentiment and cerebrality, overview, playfulness and mystery.

Lucas Schreel is a classically trained guitarist based in Brussels. His first solo album We're Never Afraid of Getting Up Every Morning was released through Sentimental Records in 2019 and was well-received both in written-press (Humo, Enola & Indiestyle) and radio (Duyster, Radio 1 & Klara). Besides his solo work, Schreel is also a member of the lo-fi indierockband Kloothommel.
Acclaimed Brussels percussionist Casper Van De Velde made quite a name for himself through his bands like SCHNTZL, Bombataz, Donder among others. His work received prices at International Jazz Contest d’Avignon and Storm! Contest (Jazzlab). Casper is currently also a member of the recently formed An Pierlé Quartet.

A Suite of Sound and Colour
Commissioned for the 1975 Camden Jazz Festival, Kaleidoscope of Rainbows is structured as a seven-part suite, each movement reflecting a colour of the spectrum. Ardley’s composition weaves together jazz improvisation, progressive rock energy, and orchestral elegance in one of the most imaginative British jazz recordings of the era. Featuring Ian Carr, Barbara Thompson, Tony Coe, Trevor Tomkins, and Geoff Castle, the album is a who’s who of the UK’s vibrant 1970s jazz scene.

Every track differs in intensity and dynamics, but all of them are a feast for the ears to demanding music lovers. If you are searching for the true beauty of minimal and want to escape from modern dance music that is unfortunately more and more generic these days, this release is just for you.

Obwohl sie ständig zu arm sind, um abgezockte Biere in den letzten Kaschemmen zu trinken, fällt es HOLGRAMS aus Stockholm so gar nicht schwer, das Gift im Strahl auszukotzen. Ihr saures Aufstoßen geht wohl mehr auf das Unwohlsein zurück, das wohl eher von der Knechtschaft in schwedischen Lagerhäusern resultiert denn aus dem Alkoholmissbrauch, was es auch spannender macht, durch die Reste zu wühlen. Obwohl ihre Instrumente am untersten Rand des Existenzminimums vegetieren (und zusammen vielleicht ein Handvoll Kronen wert sind), strahlt aus HOLOGRAMS eine fast unverschämte Energie. Ihr Sound vermählt die Plackerei des täglichen Lebens mit der Lust auf etwas Besseres und erinnert dabei an die aggressive Katharsis des Punk sowie an den elektronischen Schimmer des New Wave der frühen 80er. Ihr Sound ist viel zu weitläufig für die staubigen Bürgersteige und die leeren Straßen von Stockholm, was doch die perfekte Einladung dazu ist, uns zusammen noch ein wenig mehr zu betrinken.

Auch nach sieben Jahren stehen WIDOWSPEAK immer noch für Atmosphäre. Ihre Musik ist eine Überlappung von Indie Rock, Dreampop, Shoegaze, Slow-Core und "Cowboy Grunge". Die Band aus Brooklyn hat mit dem vierten Album "Expect The Best" die Balance zwischen gegenseitigen Kräften wie hell/dunkel, leise/laut, Stress/Entspannung gefunden. Nachdem er mit der Band viel umhergezogen war, kehrte Hamilton in seine Heimat zurück, an den Ort seiner Kindheit. Dort fand er Halt und neue Energie, was ihm half ein Album zu schreiben, dessen roter Faden die Selbsterkenntnis ist. Die selbstreflektierenden Texte thematisieren die Furcht vor Antriebslosigkeit ("Dog") oder Ängste im digitalen Zeitalter ("Expect The Best") oder Motivationslosigkeit ("When I Tried"). WIDOWSPEAK haben es mit ihrem neuen Album geschafft, die dynamischen Veränderungen ihrer Musik zu steuern und sind dabei feinfühlig und zurückhaltend. Die neun Songs sind geprägt von einer Melancholie, aber auch weiterhin getragen von dem für WIDOWSPEAK typischen Twang-Gitarrensound. "Expect The Best" ist eine abstrakte Hommage an die 90er Jahre und bringt zugleich die gewohnte WIDOWSPEAK Intimität mit sich, für die sie geliebt werden.
