Novoline makes music with equipment that was manufactured in 1988 and 1989, controlled via midi by two ATARI STs. As a sequencer he is using an algorithmic composition program that is 25 years old. With this program he creates sequences that he modulates live by shifting numbers and settings while recording. The process is improvised and contains a good portion of randomly generated melodies and drums, carefully selected and combined by Novoline. The Result sounds a little like something between a dark 80's sci-fi soundtrack and an endless marching New Beat Extended Version. Enjoy the ride !

Call it future-step. Call it deep-step. Call it autonomic. Call it whatever you wish, but one thing is for sure - Hidden Element hailing straight from Kiev, Ukraine fail to make their music disappoint. With a fresh take on electronic sounds ranging from breathtaking beat-less layers to +/- 170 BPM heavy hitters, these two have been making waves in the industry for some time already, releasing on 22:22, Alphacut, Med School, Pinecone Moonshine, and Translation - to name a few. But it is Absys Records that is the home for their full-length album entitled 'Together'. The release is a collection of 13 amazing pieces of work, each hitting a slightly different tone, but making a wonderfully coherent whole. An entity that is enjoyed best when all of its components are played together, as the title suggests. The album focuses in majority on a rather home-listening experience, with tracks like 'Aura' or 'The Night' setting the pace for a pleasant evening chill and boosting the laid-back mood even further with "Quite Place" or 'Without You feat Kiyomi' - both infused with lovely vocals - that can serve well as modern-day lullabies. But there are also more lively accents ('Long Way Home with Physical Illusion', 'Who Knows'), traces of live instrumentation ('The Next Day feat John LaMonica'), or ambient ('Bridge'). All in all, you get a fantastic cross-section of contemporary electronic music, a masterfully composed package of nothing but pure listening pleasure.

The original title track Privilege is a showcase of Rustal's production style. Instantly enganging and driving techno with echoed vocals and rhythmical textures. Forwards Backwards Down takes on a more dubby, pounding route. Lush synth chords carries the track throughout with a slamming kickdrum and percussive textures. Brendon Moeller joins the Short Black label with a dubbed out take on Privilege. Big sub bass with interesting sounds throughout taking you on trip to a place far away. Next up to close out a hefty year of DJ-Kicks releases is one
Daniel Avery, bringing with him two exclusive new tracks and
a host of techno heavy goods. In his own words:
"To me, the most appealing thing about electronic music is that
it requires time and patience to fully enjoy. It's about becoming
lost in the repetition and the atmosphere. The warmth of the
kick drum.It's important to remember to take a breath in this world. The studio and the club can offer similar experiences in that regard but it never feel like it's running away from things. It's almost the opposite: it's in those moments where we stop that we can feel the most alive.We're constantly being told that modern generations have no attention span but it's simply not true. There is more out there to distract us but we have not changed as humans. Kids now want to go and listen to a DJ play for ten hours and become locked in their world. A mix CD, like an album, is designed to be listened to from beginning to end. It's something I still firmly believe in.

The Untold Stories offer up their next double pack collection on their trademark transparent yellow and black vinyl. For Chapter V they welcome some new artists into the label with Jerome C, Jarz=Polors, Volta Cab, and MD Wallholz, all featuring for the first time. This combined with some superb works from Franco Cinelli and UNTLD regulars Ztrl, Ivan Lopez, Pheek, and Jonas Sella: makes for a memorable album of highly identifiable music, with varying vibes from the Street Knowledge track by Volta Cab to Ztrl's one perfect for summertime afterhours, altogether another very enjoyable collection.

Marcel Dettmann has mixed the latest edition of the highly respected DJ-Kicks compilation series.
Whilst Dettmann is well-known for his incendiary sets at his residency at Berghain, his DJ-Kicks mix is crafted for listening, and displays a more reflective side of the DJ and producer. The mix explores a wide array of selections from various subgenres; ranging from the a new vocal-led Strictly Rhythm release, to rapping on Clarence G's 1991 release 'Cause I Said It Right', recently reissued by Clone Records.
Over the course of its 1hr 14 duration, Dettmann reveals multiple new original productions; most notably a collaboration with Levon Vincent, 'Can You See It'. The pair have collaborated once in the past, releasing 'Vengeance' on Levon's own Novel Sound label towards the end of 2015 to critical acclaim. 'Can You See It' sees the duo venture into darker territory; a stripped back, sub-bass laden affair, the quality of this production immediately stands out in the early stages of the mix.
Dettmann also collaborates with MDR affiliate Wincent Kunth on 'Possible Step'. In addition to five brand new original Dettmann remixes and edits, there's an unreleased remix of Marcel's 'Let's Do It' from Ostgut Ton labelmate Rolando.
Designed to be enjoyed by both the critics and more casual listeners, this mix is the latest in a long series of lifetime achievements over the course of Dettmann's career - and with so many new unreleased original Marcel Dettmann productions included, this is a landmark release for the producer

Prince Jammy became a King while cutting his musical teeth working for the dub master himself King Tubby.
In that old Jamaican way, when everyone in Jamaica was given a new name to work with, Prince Jammy as he would be known so impressed his colleagues that he rose from a Prince to a King,both names given to him by producer Bunny 'Striker'Lee.
Out of the many protégés that trained and worked at King Tubby's....and there were many, Scientist, Pat Kelly .Prince Phillip Smart to name but a few it was King Jammy's work that was the main stay .
We have selected a set of tunes that were rebuilt with King Jammy at the controls...

Brotherhood Sound System Records is back with its third 12" offering and the first in a series of compilations entitled 'Percussive Parameters', delivering percussion heavy sonics focused directly at the dance floor.The lead track of the EP, Callahan's 'Kudzu', opens with a chopped, atmospheric vocal layered intelligently over rolling percussion and a hypnotic flute. A pounding 808 kick drum is teased underneath until the track switches into a relentless, chugging club tool.
This one's destined to tear up dance floors for a long time...
Next up are label bosses Silas & Snare with 'Eastern Shores'. An unassuming and innocuous introduction with lush pads and clean percussion that ricochets neatly off vocal cuts dramatically shifts pace and turns into a weighted, rolling cut of UK Techno. On the flip, A:Tonal leads the charge through an acid tinged stomper entitled 'Perfect Imbalance'.With driven percussion and firing synths in equal measure, this is unquestionably a peak time weapon in any DJs arsenal. Finally, Bristol locals SYZ & LKY deliver 'Turbulence', a groove and sub laden roller that's meditative and hypnotic whilst maintaining an assertively club ready focus.We're very excited about the start of this new project and chapter for the label, and would like to thank you for all your on-going support. Modularz 25 Produced by South American Techno Queen Adriana Lopez who now resides in Barcelona. The Colombian born Producer & DJ has been putting out music on Modularz for a few years as well as her own imprint Grey Report. This is her first full EP on Modularz and were very happy with the results. Four driving techno cuts that are made for non stop mixing. All the tracks on the ep are great for the club or the warehouse.

Horror Vacui is a term that stands for "fear of emptiness", in the art world. Certain Moscow characters known as Sil (Easy Changes), Anrilov and Cross (aka Sick Disco) fight their own, personal inner fears by the means of dark, mysterious and gluey house in this new collaboration.
B side included 2 great remixes from Tommy Vicari Jnr and Japanese musician Takashi Himeoka. Enjoy!

1973-1976 was a period in Reggae's history when the music coming from Kingston,Jamaica was at its peak.
So many talented singers,who sang soulful/righteous songs found their way onto tape.
Maybe it was the competition between the studios like Randys,Channel 1 and Harry J's and the quality of the singers available to sing these tunes.But whatever caused the explosion the mighty voices of Horace Andy,Cornell Campbell,Johnny Clarke and Ronnie Davis never sounded better....
The tracks as you can see here were culled together from sessions recorded at the fore mentioned legendary studios.Then taken to King Tubby's home style studio at 18 Drummlie Ave in the Waterhouse district of Kingston.This is where the great Dubmaster himself would record the vocal tracks.
A method in which he preferred to work and then mix the tracks Tubby style...We have travelled to Jamaica and listened to hours of master tapes to bring this set to you.
So please sit back and enjoy what we believe to be a wicked set by Kingston's finest..

They say all good things comes in threes, and with the marking of Nachtbraker's 3rd release for Heist, we can confirm this universal truth once again. Maurits Verwoerd comes back to Heist with more dancefloor muscle than ever before, and shows us great development of his sound: while keeping his unconventional drum patterns and love for the deeper side of house, he adds some filtered funk flavor along the way. 'Gotta act to react' drives on a saturated bassline, a hypnotizing guitar lick and some seriously loose hi-hats, but really delivers once those hard to place filtered hits come in. 'Pollo con Pollo' is potentially Maurits' most clear attempt at a straightforward groove, with a lovely dreamy guitar loop running throughout the track. Add his loose sense of arrangement and changeovers, and it's still anything but straightforward. The B- side gets nice and weird with 2 versions of Intermezz(l)ow, the one being a lovely textured interlude and the other a rough drum workout built around the same theme. When we asked Maurits who he wanted to have as a remixer, he suggested he'd do a remix himself. We knew better than to argue with him, and since he is who he is, we're not entirely surprised he came up with a great dubbed out acid-tinged flip of 'Gotta act to react'. This EP really shows Nachtbraker's steady rise and will most likely take him out of the shadows he so enjoys, into headline territory and we're glad to support him in this journey. Owner operator of Finale Sessions Music Michael Zucker has brought you a sister label called future sessions music to showcase his own music with close friends and family and we are excited to able to share this label with you. Starting with our first release with the detroit veteren Norm Talley and Finale Sessions veteren Michael Zucker and we will start with Norm Talley's music first with the track called 'power 'it has the sublime detroit deep sound with its sharp chords and that pumping deep kick and claps and it also has additional work from another detroit legend delano smith but what makes this track is the fantastic vocals from the soul. Track two 'lock jaw' is just raw beatdown late night track with deep chicago classic sound with a pumping kicks and mind altering synth. Then next we have Michael Zuckers first track 'parisian nights' with it's classic filtered classic chicago sound with proper pads and chords with a vocal drifting in and out of the spectrum . Track two ' thought process' is just an amazing deep inspired melodic trip with key's and that classic b4 organ that sets the tone for the pads and that lifted filtered sound . We are excited to be able to work together Norm Talley and myself and we hope you enjoy this journey also.

Pharaohs come from LA and blend Liston Smith vibes in a modern electronic context. They have released music on ESP Institute and 100% Silk. Their take on 'Pleasure Centre' is a bongo driven ride with acoustic guitars and jazz infused flute harmonics. It's a lovely thing.

CFCF himself takes on 'Fleurs laissés dans un taxi' in a beautiful balearic style. Super mellow with sweet guitar in a classic Pat Metheny style brings out the melody with the pads & syncopated drums and percussion rolling away in the background.

Apiento takes the chance to reedit 'Chasing' which was one of our favourites from the label. A little dub and an extension is all it takes to let this one breathe for a little longer.

Across the board good from International Feel. Enjoy.
