Bass player Ron Carter’s debut album Where? features Eric Dolphy (clarinet, sax, flute) and Mal Waldron (piano). The album was originally released in 1961 having been recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey. This new edition of the album is released as part of the Original Jazz Classics Series and is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI with all-analogue mastering from the original tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and presented in a Tip-On Jacket. US import.

Featuring the vocals of Fela Kuti at his most potent, ‘Unravelling’ also includes a featured performance from Eric Leeds, the American saxophone player most noted for his work with Prince, both in the studio and as part of the Purple One’s touring band.

These New Animals, turned in some searing Acid-Rock in the shape of ‘Spill The Wine’ and ‘San Franciscan Nights’, the latter a paean to Burdon’s adopted home that made the Top Ten Charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Eric Carr remained a member of KISS until his death from heart cancer. He took up the rustic orange persona of “The
Fox” and was one of the fan favourites. Rockology is Eric Carr’s only solo record which features former KISS guitarist
Bruce Kulick. This package was designed and mastered along with Loretta Carr (Eric’s sister) to fall in line as the 5th
KISS solo album. The cover is Eric in his “Fox” make up, the 12x24 cm poster is in the same style of the original 4
PICTURE-DISC solo KISS releases.

Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton is a compilation album featuring his hits from the 1980s and 1990s. The album was released on 12 October 1999 by the Duck / Reprise Records label. He was delighted to find that Sam lived around the corner and could easily drop by to put drums on newly recorded tracks. The recording methodology may have been Contemporary American but the subject matter is almost entirely British. It also contains more instrumentals than any of his previous albums.

There are few people across the globe, who will have not been touched by the work of Frankie Knuckles. Forever regarded as ‘The Godfather of House’ for his unrivalled contribution to the house music we know today; what started as an underground movement in Chicago has grown to international heights thanks to Frankie. His records earned him recognition on a global scale, allowing him to work with some of the globes biggest names including the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

Five years ago, Frankie passed away in Chicago on 31st March 2014 leaving behind one of the greatest house music legacies spanning almost four decades. Now he is commemorated by long time writing and production partner Eric Kupper. Eric, himself a seasoned DJ producer and writer, has worked on over 116 Billboard #1 Dance Records and played a pivotal role in a many of Frankie’s productions. Having both worked together for many years they established themselves at ‘Director’s Cut’ from 2011 and set about producing original releases and remixes based on the classic ‘Def Mix’ sound while sharing equal credits for their creations.

Together they re-produced and re-purpose classic cuts for modern dancefloors, with reworks including tracks from Marshall Jefferson, Ashford & Simpson, Artful & Ridney and The Sunburst Band, alongside Frankie Knuckles originals. These releases have now been brought together by Eric to feature on special album called ‘The Directors Cut Collection’ on SoSure Music. It includes the Director’s Cut reworks of Frankie’s classic cuts such as ‘Your Love’ and ‘Take You There’ with Jamie Principle, alongside Frankie’s first #1 single - ‘The Whistle Song’ on which Eric shares writing credits.

Within a multitude of classic reworks, highlights include a previously unreleased version of Ashford & Simpson’s ‘Bourgie Bourgie’ and a huge Director’s Cut Retro Signature mix of Marshall Jefferson’s 'The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body)' featuring Curtis McClain.

"Moon River” & "How Could We Know" is a double A-side single featuring two newly recorded songs by Eric Clapton. The first song, "Moon River," is a cover by Eric and Jeff Beck, which was recorded shortly before Jeff’s passing. The second song, "How Could We Know," is a new original song featuring Judith Hill (vocals), Simon Climie (vocals) and Daniel Santiago (acoustic guitar).

In 1990, Eric Clapton performed 18 nights at one of his favorite venues - the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. During the 18 run of shows Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. Eric returned to the same venue in 1991 with the same three line -ups and played a further 24 shows. The huge undertaking of rehearsing for performances of three distinctly different genres was made even more challenging by the line-up for the rock shows varying from 4, 9 or 13 band members.

Clapton has always played with superlative musicians, and these shows were no exception. The bands included Johnnie Johnson, Jimmie Vaughan, Chuck Leavell, Nathan East, Greg Phillinganes, Steve Ferrone, Ray Cooper, and Jerry Portnoy. Additionally, legendary special guests joined Clapton on stage: Phil Collins in the rock ensemble; Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Albert Collins for the blues shows.

The Orchestral performances were arranged and conducted by Michael Kamen the highly regarded and successful composer who had worked with Clapton previously (Lethal Weapon, Edge Of Darkness). The set list included the epic 30 minute ‘Concerto For Guitar’ that Kamen composed especially for Clapton - released now for the first time.

Many of the performances in both years were filmed and recorded. The huge volume of audio and film material from the archive has been painstakingly restored and upgraded by Clapton’s team of Simon Climie (audio production and mixing), producer Peter Worsley (Slowhand at 70 and The Lady In The Balcony), and director David Barnard (The Lady In The Balcony).

This remarkable series of shows will finally be given the release that they deserve. A full concert of each genre (Rock, Blues, Orchestral) has been assembled from the hours of material available and will be released on audio (CD, LP, digital) and with an accompanying film on Blu-ray and DVD.

Eric Johnson, der mit einem Grammy ausgezeichnete Multi-Genre-Gitarrist, liefert mit Yesterday Meets Today & The Book of Making zwei Geschwister-Alben, die während des Pandemie Lockdowns fertiggestellt wurden. Johnson hat Inventur gemacht - sowohl emotional als auch musikalisch - und die vielen unvollendeten Tracks, Outtakes, Demos und klanglichen Ideen in seinem Archiv durchforstet, um die 18 Songs zusammenzustellen, die schließlich auf den Alben landeten: "Jedes Mal, wenn ich eine Platte mache, mache ich normalerweise zwei Platten; ich lagere einige der Stücke, die ich nicht verwendet habe, im Tresor", erklärt Johnson. Mit dem Luxus der Zeit war Johnson in der Lage, zwei vollwertige Alben abzuliefern, wobei weitere Tracks Ende des Jahres als EP veröffentlicht werden sollen.

Auf 'Present Past And Future' nimmt Thievery Corporation-Mitbegründer Eric Hilton seine Hörer mit auf eine Reise von den Bürgersteigen der Innenstädte in den 1970ern bis an den Rand des Universums - und zurück. Klanglich bewegen sich die 6 EP-Tracks zwischen Jazz angehauchtem Drum'n'Bass und entspannt-urbanem Funk, mit einer staubigen Atmosphäre, die viele als Trip-Hop anspricht. Als kistenstöbernder Vinylkenner bringt Hilton unterschiedlichste Einflüsse ein, von Anspielungen auf den Trompeter Donald Byrd über den Jazzpoeten Gil Scott-Heron bis zum legendären Produktionsteam der Mizell Brothers.

Der mit einem Grammy ausgezeichnete Komponist Eric Whitacre und das gefeierte Vokalensemble VOCES8 vereinen sich in majestätischer Harmonie für diese Veröffentlichung bei Decca Classics. Ihr Album enthält eine Weltpremiere, „All Seems Beautiful To Me“, und eine neue Aufnahme von der tief bewegenden Kantate von Whitacre, „The Sacred Veil“. „All Seems Beautiful To Me“ basiert auf einem Gedicht von Walt Whitman, das die Fähigkeit des menschlichen Geistes zu Großzügigkeit und Wachstum feiert. Ebenfalls enthalten ist eine neue Aufnahme eines von Whitacres meistgespielten und beliebten Stücken, „The Seal Lullaby“. Das Album enthält außerdem „Sing Gently“ und „Go, Lovely Rose“. Letzteres war Whitacres allererste Komposition, die er vor 30 Jahren schrieb, und so ist das neue Album zum Teil auch eine fröhliche Feier seiner drei Jahrzehnte als Komponist. „Ihr Klang ist glasig und rein, wie geschleuderter Honig”, sagt Eric über das britische A-cappella-Ensemble VOCES8. „Die Chance, dass meine Musik von diesen Musikern zum Leben erweckt wird, ist alles, was ich mir jemals erhoffen konnte, und in der Tat ist es das, wovon ich immer geträumt habe, dass es so klingt”.
