Where the debut Toodles LP was a collection of very intensely personal songs, this record comprises three songs that are closer to short stories than personal writing. All three are from imagined perspectives: the perspective of a cat, someone who may or may not be being abducted by a UFO, and people who live in a hotel respectively. They’re all nighttime songs.
The title 'Every Night is a Beautiful Night' pays homage to the 1950 film Harvey starring Jimmy Stewart, who remarks early on in the film “Why, every day is a beautiful day.”
Recorded at JT Soar, Nottingham in March 2025. It was produced and recorded by Phil Booth and Robin Newman, mixed by Robin Newman and mastered by Ed Hall at All Silk Mastering House. The artwork is by Emily Seffar.

Every Time We Say Goodbye (feat. Blanca) is light and melodic with shimmering pads and ethereal textures. Blanca’s treated vocals float effortlessly above rolling percussion and delicate synth melodies, delivering a warm, emotional energy that feels both modern and timeless.
The 18th Floor is a hypnotic journey built on dubby low-end grooves and fluid, meandering leads. Angelic, reverb-soaked vocal fragments drift through the mix, giving the track a dreamlike atmosphere that’s equally suited for peak-time or deeper, introspective moments.

On the flip is Under the same Moon, an introspective journey through deep emotion and atmospheric house. Under the same Moon is a sonic meditation, melancholic yet hopeful, with textures that evoke twilight memories and introspective dancefloor, lastly The Bigger Person takes a more laid-back approach, driven by warm guitar lines that showcase Guy’s instrumental finesse.

Born At Midnite ist das Nebenprojekt von Amery Sandford und David Carriere. Posters announce a daily action: A professional marksman shoots daily at 12 o’clock from a distance of approximately 15 meters at a paper flower. The number of shots is limited to a maximum of three per day. Upon a hit, the flower is replaced by a new one, the action ends and is continued the next day with a new flower. The bullet holes in the wall are not removed. The flowers remain lying on the floor until the end of the exhibition or event and are then given away.
Posters are produced in color variants (yellow, orange, red, violet, light blue, green) to advertise the action:
Every day at noon a professional marksman will shot at a paper flower (place of action to be filled in).
This performance was first presented at The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh in November and December 1999 and subsequently repeated (Aberystwyth, London, Nottingham, 2000 – 2002 and Langenhagen, 2007).
The action will be re-staged as part of the Klang Moor Schopfe Festival in Gais, September 4 –14, 2025.

Dies ist als kühnes Statement des Komponisten und Bandkopfs Toby Driver zu verstehen. Dieser markiert damit sowohl eine Rückkehr, da er jene kompositorischen Praktiken wieder aufgreift, die den Erstling definiert haben, als auch eine Weiterentwicklung, weil Driver gleichzeitig in unbekanntes Terrain vorstößt. Unter Ablehnung traditioneller Rock-Strukturen und der eher vorhersehbaren Konturen des Metal formt "Every Rock, Every Half-Truth under Reason" einen Sound, der sich gleichzeitig vertraut und fremd anfühlt, in dem eigens entworfenen mikrotonale Orgeln und Gitarren den Versuch unternehmen, die unmögliche Spannung zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft aufzulösen. Das Werk entfernt sich von der typischen Betonung der tiefen Frequenzen und schwebt stattdessen im oberen Spektrum, wo die Texturen zerbrechlicher und intimer, aber auch rauer und erschreckender werden. Auf diesem Album werden KAYO DOT auch von dem Geist einer kommenden Zukunft heimgesucht: dem Gespenst einer KI-generierten Kreativität. Die zunehmende Präsenz von künstlichen Kompositionen, prädiktiver Modellierung und algorithmischer Ästhetik wirft bereits einen langen Schatten auf die künstlerische Kreativarbeit. Dies veranlasste Driver dazu, auf eine Art und Weise zu komponieren, die sich Vorhersagen widersetzt, und eine Musik zu erschaffen, die sich der Mustererkennung entzieht. Ein großer Teil von "Every Rock, Every Half-Truth under Reason" ist dem Versuch geschuldet, gegen den Strich der Lesbarkeit zu bürsten und etwas zu erschaffen, das sich dem Zugriff von Vorhersagesystemen entzieht. There's no real way around it: Kelsey Waldon's new album, Every Ghost, is heavy stuff. Across its nine songs, she confronts addiction, grief, generational trauma, and even herself - and comes through it stronger and at peace. "There's a lot of hard-earned healing on this record," Waldon says. As she sings in the album's title track and first song, 'Ghost of Myself,' she's put in the work not only to better herself and leave behind bad habits, but also to learn to love her past selves. Compassion is a throughline on Every Ghost, whether it's for Waldon herself, for the person in the throes of addiction in 'Falling Down,' or for a suffering world in 'Nursery Rhyme.' The people in Waldon's songs aren't irredeemable - they're struggling.

Z Records returns with a Hustle-tastic 12" to light up both your life and DJ sets. It's the boss himself Dave Lee who kicks off with his extended rework of a bonafide Brit Funk classic in the shape of Hi Tension's 'British Hustle'. Featuring David Josephs's signature vocals over the chugging Caribbean rhythm track, its a song that's never received an extended club mix from the tapes since its first release in 1978. His second cut is a Re-Wriggle of a Funky Worm volume pumping classic that becomes a fat-bottomed house jam with stomping brass, ear-worm vocal hooks and Latin inspired keys. "On the flip' (as they say) is Foreal People's 'Tango Hustle' - a driving clav heavy, jazz funk workout complete with chanting dance instructions over various solos. Add in an Acapella and some 'Hustle Beats' and you have a very muscular package.

Bells Are Ringing is the debut EP by Melbourne Funk 10 piece outfit Mondo Freaks, released following on from the single of the same name and a thrilling Dub Version by Harvey Sutherland.

Mondo Freaks formed originally as a concept band, equipped with an ever-evolving setlist of late '70s and early '80s Funk classics, their journey has seen them invited to be the backing band for the Australian tours of such luminaries as Leroy Burgess (the producer and artist behind Boogie and Disco favourites Black Ivory, Logg, Aleem, Inner Life, and Universal Robot Band) and the iconic Evelyn "Champagne" King. Having performed at the iconic local Meredith Music, Golden Plains and Panama festivals and at numerous residencies Mondo Freaks have carved their mark, returning now to ring in a new era of groove-soaked original music.

The band revolves around the rhythm section of in demand session bassist Luke Hodgson and drummer Graeme Pogson (GL, The Bamboos). Gathering some of the finest musicians from Melbourne's legendary Soul scene, they're accompanied by five incredible vocalists including Jade McRae, Susie Goble, Francisco Tavares, Aaron Mendoza and Jason Heerah.

New tracks on the EP include "Find A Way", which hits straight away with a percussion and synth hook, blending Jade McCrae's vocal delivery with an uplifting message about finding hope in trying times.

Also included is the Harvey Sutherland Vocal Mix of "Bells Are Ringing", which keeps much of the spaced out Larry Levan, Shep Pettibone re-edit approach that was on his much lauded Dub Version.

It's easy to see why his remix skills have been in demand and utilised by Disclosure, Khruangbin, BadBadNotGood, Tycho, Boston Bun, Lucius, Jungle Giants, Genesis Owusu and Franc Moody. On his own releases Sutherland has collaborated with the likes of DāM FunK and Nubya Garcia.Tightening its hold on the dancefloor, the beefed-up rhythm section rolls deep into the nocturnal hours, as mesmerising reverb loops elevate the track skywards.

Luke and Graeme got to know Harvey Sutherland when they played together backing Leroy Burgesson his Australian tour in 2018. After that Luke and Graeme played in Harvey's live band across the world and then contributed his 'BOY' album. "We were thrilled when he turned in his Dub of "Bells"", Luke said. "A kind of 'what would Shep Pettibone or Larry Levan do?' moment. It's like being transported to Compass Point Studios in '81!"
