This EP is inspired by love and dreams and continues her quest to find the perfect blend of emotional yet minimal melodic beats. Opener 'L'Amour' radiates Lazic's signature sounds with a slick bassline and melodic chords that convey meaningful emotions under female spoken words. It's a seductive world of warm pads and silky beats that cast a hypnotic spell. The fantastic 'Todo El Universo' features the vocals of Lazic's Spanish friend Monica. The title translates as 'all the universe' and is a favourite line from Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist about accomplishing your dreams. It's a deep and comforting groove with soft drums and pillowy pads that soothe the soul and are perfect for more intimate dance floors.
Remixer Nu Eau is a pivotal part of Romania's minimal scene with a meticulously crafted sound that has taken him to the likes of Gettraum and Memoria Recordings and he also co-founded the Uvar imprint. His version of ‘L'Amour' is more up tempo but no less heady, with lush cosmic synths doing an elegant dance over the compelling beats.

Spanish pair Los Suruba have done it all over the last 20 years - released hundreds of tracks, played thousands of gigs, established their own network of record labels, held residencies everywhere from Ibiza to London and crafted countless underground hits. Their remix of ‘L'Amour' is serene and cerebral with paranoid voices drifting through the mix and rippling chords keeping you afloat in the cosmos.

Kamai Music’s 26th release comes from the Electronic producer duo and live act Kon Faber.

A1: “Ambiguity” is a bouncy, groove- and percussion-heavy collaboration between established producer Iorie,
including a vocal duet.

A2: “Cheer” is an emotional, atmospheric track with a mesmerizing interplay of synth lines and jazzy melodic
licks from professional jazz saxophone player Marius Dick.

A3: “Weberwiese” is a large space with choirs and wide synth pads. The track opens up through a virtuous,
acoustic lead guitar embedded into a hypnotic and bouncy groove.

B1: South African producer Fka Mash gives a deep Afro House twist including a rich bass lead synth.

B2: Kamai’s own Jacob Groening shows a simplistic interpretation of “Cheer” and adds a new depth through a
non-metrically played lead synth.

B3: “Weberwiese” is remixed by Joep Mencke, who adds trance-like melodies and creates a melodic house
spin for the big stage.

PIV serves up the fourth edition of their highly sought-after Amsterdam Dance Event Sampler - collecting tracks from fresh new talent, as well as artists that have been affiliated with the label since the very beginning. 15 tracks, in total, with eight of them appearing on this vinyl edition, that will be sold in Amsterdam during the PIV events and in all good record stores.

Showcasing the true sound of PIV, this is a must-have package of dancefloor weapons.

After a 3-year break, the Germany-based label Malonian is back. The label's ninth release comes from the Berlin producer Mental Carnival, who should be known for his Big City Jungle / Fresh EP on La Pena Shots.

This EP features 4 unique tracks that sound like the producer made them specifically for the dancefloor of the romanian Sunwaves Festival. Because that's where the idea for the label with the subtitle "Based on friendships which started in Mamaia" was born in 2014. Amsterdam based producer and DJ Chris Stussy has become one of the most eminent figures in the contemporary house scene of the Netherlands and across the globe over the past 10 years, racking up releases on the likes of Eastenderz, Moscow, PIV, Contstant Sound and most recently his own Up The Stuss imprint.

Leading the release is ‘Central Frenzy’, laid out across six and a half minutes with skippy percussion, a snaking bass groove, intricate synth sequences and sweeping vocal chants. ‘Riva De Biasio’ follows and tips the focus over to airy atmospherics a jazz-tinged bass groove and squelchy acid licks atop swinging drums.

‘Deviant Shadow’ opens the flip-side and merges an amalgamation of expansive dub chords and bouncy sub bass tones with a robust 4/4 rhythm. Lastly to round things out is title-cut ‘A Glimmer Of Hope’, wrapping up the release on a deeper tip courtesy of ethereal pad swells, metallic synth licks and shuffled drums.

Wir sind begeistert, die Re-Issues dieser vier unglaublichen Alben mit verbessertem Artwork bekannt zu geben. Aber Yann wurde, nicht zuletzt durch den Soundtrack von ,Die fabelhafte Welt der Amelie auf der ganzen Welt bekannt. Für sein internationales Publikum hat er nun höchstpersönlich seine Titel mit größter Sorgfalt ins Englische übersetzt, um sicher zu stellen, dass die Originalinhalte beibehalten bleiben. Im Januar folgen die nächsten beiden Alben. ++ Auf "Rue Des Cascades" bedient sich YANN TIERSEN einer ganzen Armada an spannenden und mutagen Instrumenten: einiger sehr rare Instrumente, aber auch Klaviere, Kinderklaviere, Cembalo, Geigen, Akkordeon, Mandoline, Glockenspiel, Melodica und Banjo zusammen mit menschlichen Stimmen. Zusammen sorgt das für eine äußerst angenehme, entzückende und wunderschöne Musik mit einer warmen Atmosphäre. Nick Curly celebrates the 50th release on his imprint with label partner Marc Scholl. Together, they present Nick Curly’s Altrip EP, featuring a guest remix by Manda Moor.

The EP commences with the title track 'Altrip,' where robust sub-bass melds seamlessly with vigorous drum programming. Following suit, 'It's You And Me' maintains the same potent energy, featuring cascading note arpeggios and intricate percussive elements that traverse the mix. Manda Moor's 'Burning Remix' of 'Altrip' injects her high-octane sonic signature into the original, employing rave-inspired stabs, panning drums, and sliced vocal samples.

As the year '23 enters its final quarter, Cécille Records is set to reinvigorate its event series in collaboration with Peoples Agency. Two official dates stand as markers of this revival. Alongside Nick Curly, an array of artists including Sidney Charles, Manda Moor, Fabe, Leon, De La Swing, Dennis Quin, Timmy P, Reboot and more are poised to join the festivities. The launch will take place under Cécille tent owned by Groove Fest London, while another event is scheduled at ADE in partnership with promoter Hush, hosted at Amsterdam's Melkweg Club.

Annlaug Borsheim is an established freelance musician and songwriter based in Bergen, Norway. She comes from the folk music world, but operates within a wide range of genres, theatrical expressions, and instruments. She sings in Norwegian, and the music reflects Annlaug's versatile background, from traditional tunes from Hardanger to indie rock. She is joined by a star team from the local music scene in Bergen, led by the album's producer, Pedro Carmona-Alvarez.

Within the nine carefully composed tracks of Young Bones, Mel D’s characteristic voice stands out in all its facets, varying from fragile to powerful, haunting to playful, but most of all soulful. With a voice that’s both extraordinarily clear and melancholic, Mel D is something surprisingly rare: a singer whose artistic expression goes beyond the mere use of her voice. On Young Bones, Mel D uses contemporary figures, rephrasing them into timeless formulas. Her unique musical language embodies references to genres like Indie or Alternative. In other moments, her sound leans baroque, then jazzy, soulful, and contemplative. Each song represents an ode to being connected: to the world, other people, and most of all to the beauty of music. Mel D draws her inspiration from struggles felt in the current world climate: “I have felt overwhelmed by the world we live in and its countless challenges,” said Mel D. “As if we’re all a bit directionless in our own lives.” Nevertheless, Mel D uses her musicality as a tool for resistance - using it to transform sadness and anger into creativity, and to give world-weariness a voice that seduces, comforts, and inspires. On Young Bones, Mel D sings us to a place where we might find hope - with songs rooted in concern, solidarity, humanness, and empowerment, inviting the listener to lean into those feelings. Bring the Witches Back, a hymn to witchcraft, is a quiet song that summons the return of witches with feminist urgency, for more love and magic to open ourselves towards each other and the world. Meanwhile, in the coming-of-age ballad, Slowly Growing, she raises questions about belonging and identity, pointing directly at our emotional core. Where Do You Look When It Hurts? speaks to the sensation of exhaustion and emptiness, offering musical warmth and a sense of community in moments of lethargy. Finally, listening to the album, one always feels in good company. Playfully working in folk and electro-pop elements, Mel D takes us on a ride toward love and a sense of belonging, particularly on the track We win. Young Bones was recorded in Zurich and Paris with two outstanding producers of our times: Renaud Letang, who has previously collaborated with Feist, Chilly Gonzales or Lianne La Havas, and Dino Brandão. The latter recognized Mel D’s artistic uniqueness during their first meeting, inviting her to a recording session in his studio and bringing her into the band of Swiss superstar, Faber. Mel D’s solo project was more a product of coincidence than planning, as she says, even though an undisputed talent and passion for music had always been apparent throughout her youth. During her studies in fine arts in Zurich, she founded the electronica-duo mischgewebe, and composed soundtracks for theater and movie productions, as well as for exhibitions. Long before forming her current artistic identity, she went by the nickname Mel D, in a humorous reference to the Spice Girls. Although her personality and musical language suggest thoughtfulness and a melancholy touch, Mel D acknowledges that an honest laugh is never out of place, making her sympathetic and approachable.

Worldwide renowned for his artwork, Brooklyn based artist / producer Dom Dirtee’s debut album THE HARDCORE COMPOSER is OUT NOW everywhere on the legendary Duck Down Music. It boasts 10 songs of all-original music composed and played by Dom Dirtee and features only heavyweight MCs like Lil Fame (of M.O.P.), Paul Wall, Termanology, Millyz, Planet Asia, Nems, UFO Fev, Anoyd, Illa Ghee, and more.

Cosey Fanni Tutti has announced details of a new album, 2t2, set for release on the artist’s own imprint, Conspiracy International, on 13 June 2025 on vinyl & CD. Composed, performed and produced by Cosey Fanni Tutti, the 9-track album moves between propulsive beat constructions and expansive electronic explorations, continuing themes from 2019’s acclaimed album TUTTI. It is a personal reflection; a sonic realisation of her life, drawing on her powerful inner resolve and expressing it through music. The album finds Cosey making sense of some very tough years, dealing with personal bereavements alongside swingeing world events that have impacted us all. Centring on her own strength and self will, the album’s two distinct sides – one rhythmic, one more meditative – are connected by an overwhelmingly positive mood. She explains, “My overtone chanting on the track ‘Stound’ was part of that, tapping into the inner self, to the core of your being, emotionally, physically, allowing the sounds to permeate and soothe as well as create a sense of power, resistance and resilience to what we face.” Even in the more melancholic moments, there’s a lightness that she explains is an “acknowledgement that it’s alright to be sad, that’s part of life, but there is so much joy too in our memories of people we lose and in the moments we share with each other. Joy is our resistance.” There are also threads from her most recent projects running through 2t2. Her latest book RE-SISTERS and the score she wrote for Caroline Catz’s film Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and Legendary Tapes are acknowledged, most directly on ‘Threnody’ which is dedicated to Delia Derbyshire and Andy Christian, an artist friend of Delia’s. He sent Cosey an abstract drawing of the same name, created one night from an improvised evening where he drew while Derbyshire intoned and sang softly as she looked at the drawings, as if reading a score expressing how they made her feel. Cosey’s process and the different strands that make up her work form a totality of vision. She goes on to say, “Once you get creating and listening, weaving, collaging sound it’s a wonderfully fulfilling feeling that takes you both out of yourself at the same time as essentially deep within.”

The artwork reflects this idea that the album is a “sound cameo”, reflecting the light within the music, and the buzz of life that exists within all of Cosey’s work. Musician, artist and author Cosey Fanni Tutti has continually challenged boundaries and conventions through her work. As a founding member of the hugely influential avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle, one half of electronic pioneers Chris and Cosey, and as an artist channelling her experience in pornographic modelling and striptease, her work on the margins has reshaped the mainstream. Her first solo album, Time To Tell (1983) was followed by 2019’s Tutti and 2022’s Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and the Legendary Tapes. Her debut book, the Penderyn Music Book Prize shortlisted Art Sex Music, was published in 2017, followed by RE-SISTERS in 2022 (both Faber), which will soon get a Spanish edition.

Yowzers is a new album by Chicago composer, improvisor, and musical folklorist Ben LaMar Gay. Yowzers features Gay"s working quartet with Tommaso Moretti (drums, percussion, voice), Matthew Davis (tuba, piano, bells, voice), and Will Faber (guitar, ngoni, bells, voice), as well as guest instrumentalist Rob Frye and a mini-choir. The album recalls the high-minded freedom of Liberation Music Orchestra, the glitched-out electronic webs of Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, the unbridled rhythms and sandpaper bellows of Bukka White, and the harmolodic cartoon glory of Arthur Blythe"s Illusions. It"s all there, filtered through an improvisational approach and a lifetime of secrets embodied. For a man who has inhabited and traveled these continents so extensively, it"s safe to call this work true "Americana", despite what that word might mean to the average person in the United States.
