Das vierte Studioalbum, das Kim Wilde für MCA aufgenommen hat, wird endlich auf opak-orangefarbenem Vinyl neu aufgelegt. Gleich fünf Singles aus 'Love Moves' wurden veröffentlicht - 'It's Here', 'Time', 'Can't Get Enough (Of Your Love)', 'I Can't Say Goodbye' und 'World In Perfect Harmony' - alle mit dem großartigen, voll entwickelten Pop-Sound der späten 80er, den Kim zu ihrem eigenen Markenzeichen gemacht hatte. Zum ersten Mal ergänzt diese Vinyl-Edition von die ursprüngliche Vinyl-Trackliste um zwei herausragende B-Seiten in Form von 'Virtual World' und 'SanjazzMegamix'. Obwohl das Album damals in GB nicht die kommerziellen Höhen seines Vorgängers 'Close' erreichte, war es in ganz Europa ein Hit, insbesondere in Skandinavien.

Im Rahmen unserer fortlaufenden Suede 30-Kampagne wird Demon Records die fünfte, sechste, siebte und achte Single von Suede als sammelwürdige 7inch Picture-Single herausbringen. Die sechste Single der Band erschien am 12. September 1994 und war 'We Are The Pigs'. Der erste Song, der vom sensationellen, zweiten Album 'Dog Man Star' veröffentlicht wurde, wurde von The Times kommentiert: "Angetrieben von einer der besten Riff-Akkordfolgen von Bernard Butler und befeuert von den alptraumhaften Visionen von Brett Andersons Text, stürmt der Song mit einem herrlichen Refrain nach Hause, der altmodischen Mitsing-Charakter mit einer faszinierend finsteren Note verbindet." Die Single erreichte Platz 18 in den britischen Charts. Die B-Seite war 'The Killing Of A Flash Boy'. Dieser Song erschien nicht auf dem Album aber zuletzt Hat Sänger Brett Anderson kommentiert, dass er das Lied im Nachhinein in die Titelliste des Albums aufgenommen hätte. 'Dog Man Star' wird zum 30. Jubiläum am 04.10. als Deluxe-LP und CD erscheinen.

DE MANNEN BROEDERS ist die erste Zusammenarbeit feat. Colin van Eeckhout und der flämischen Folk-Ikone Tonnie 'Broeder' Dieleman aus Zeeuws.
Ersterer ist der Frontmann der belgischen Post-Metaller AMENRA, einer Band, die für ihre überwältigende Härte in Sound und Gefühl bekannt ist.
Letzterer ist ein holländischer Folksänger, dessen Musik von der Kultur seiner seeländischen Heimat inspiriert ist und der bereits mit Baby Dee und
Bonnie Prince Billy zusammengearbeitet hat. Als die beiden sich trafen, spürten sie sofort eine Verbindung.
Das Ergebnis ist das 9-Track-Album Sober Maal (was übersetzt 'nüchternes Mahl' heißt und sich auf die Praxis bezieht, eine einfache Mahlzeit zu
essen, um Dankbarkeit zu üben), das unter dem Namen DE MANNEN BROEDERS veröffentlicht wird. Es wurde in weniger als fünf Tagen in der
Doopsgezinde Kerk aus dem 18. Jahrhundert in Middelburg in den Niederlanden geschrieben und aufgenommen.
Klanglich ist Sober Maal eine eindringliche, emotionsgeladene Reise, die sich in einer vergangenen Welt verwurzelt fühlt, aber dennoch völlig
eigenständig klingt und eine melancholische, aber dennoch hoffnungsvolle Note hat. Der Gesang von Colin und Tonnie verschmilzt mit dem Chor und
einer sparsamen Auswahl an Instrumenten, darunter ein Banjo, ein Klavier, eine Drehleier und die mächtige Zentralorgel - alles vermischt mit den
Klängen und dem Echo der Kirche.

The struggle against hardship is laid out in track titles like Tired Bonesand Growing in the Darkbefore a sense of catharsis is reached in Breathe Againand Melancholy Flower. The music similarly mirror her experiences, passing through sadness, anger, before ultimately landing at acceptance and a newfound drive for self-actualisation and greater interoception; after all, the end goal of any resistance is liberation.

A super rare 45 from the Golden Soul label, the A-side is a funky midtempo instrumental aptly named for the band's Herm Henry. Ron Dante was without question one of the hottest singers on the 1969 pop hit parade, sailing in the same commercial stratosphere as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and 5th Dimension. As the lead singer of the Archies, he had the year’s biggest selling song with the #1 Hit “Sugar Sugar.” Ron’s golden voice was coveted by every producer in Manhattan and he was the “go to” guy at Don Kirschner’s legendary Brill Building. Even Madison Avenue called as Dante made national TV jingles for American Airlines, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Tang, and Gillette. As a Broadway producer he had hits with “Ain’t Misbehavin” and “Children Of A Lessor God.” In a career high, Ron sold over 60 million records as the producer and background singer of the first nine Barry Manilow albums.

But over the course of the following decade, Souled American's music grew increasingly slow, insular and esoteric. Although Fe, Flubber and Around the Horn are inarguably more accessible, upbeat and even sometimes fun, if you've never heard this music before, it actually makes sense to start at the end.

Their last two albums Frozen and Notes Campfire will now be re-issued in limited, 30th Anniversary Editions with a fresh abundance of stories, technical information, musician credits, and cartoons that detail the unexpected origins surrounding these two early classics of “ambient Americana.” These records sound at once both old and new with brilliant melodies and profound performances stacked in unusual patterns like soft-hued bricks.

Für andere, die gnostisch veranlagt sind, symbolisiert er die Dualität des Göttlichen und des Irdischen im Menschen. Am häufigsten wird er jedoch einfach als Symbol für die endlosen Zyklen von Tod und Wiedergeburt verstanden, die das Leben auf diesem Planeten kennzeichnen. In der Welt von Goat, dem geheimnisvollen und immer wieder neu belebenden Kollektiv, das mit seinem neuesten Album ein weiteres Abenteuer jenseits dieser Ebene der Realität erlebt, ist dieses Bild von großer Bedeutung: Die Band, die bereits Alben mit den Titeln Requiem und Oh Death veröffentlicht hat, beweist mit ihrem gleichnamigen Album erneut, dass Transzendenz und Metamorphose ihre Leitmotive sind. Mit Goat beschwört die stets unberechenbare Band rhythmisch getriebene Rituale in einem unverwechselbaren, erhebenden und schillernden Stil herauf, der die Tanzfläche ebenso wie den Geist zu beflügeln vermag. "One More Death" und "Goatbrain` sind spektakuläre Vorboten, die einen hedonistischen Geist verkörpern, der von prägnantem Funk angetrieben wird und von einer gnadenlosen Fuzz/Wah-getränkten Gitarre besessen ist. An anderer Stelle ist die Liebe der Band zum Hip-Hop der Treibstoff für den epischen Albumabschluss ,Ourobourus", der ansteckenden Gesang mit atemloser Breakbeat-Action im Stil von Lalo Schifrin verbindet. Und das bedeutet auch, dass wir am Ende, wie das älteste allegorische Symbol der Alchemie, wieder dort sind, wo wir angefangen haben. Wie Brad Dourifs Figur Hazel Moates in dem Film Wiseblood von 1979 sagt: ,Wo du herkamst, ist nicht mehr da. wo du dachtest, dass du hingehst, war niemals. Und wo du bist, ist es nicht gut, es sei denn, du kannst davon wegkommen". In Goats ewigem Jetzt der Erneuerung und Offenbarung gab es nie ein wirksameres Mittel zur Flucht. Limitiertes, schwarzes Vinyl!

…Into a Real Thing is the first record David Porter produced by himself, and it sounds like an important checkpoint in the invention of progressive R&B as a genre, an album that bent the space-time continuum around R&B and willed it into something new altogether. It’s in conversation with Isaac Hayes’ own output of the era — Hot Buttered Soul especially — but where Hayes blew up the R&B form by throwing a bomb into it, helping create funk in the process, Porter worked more firmly in R&B’s space to build something new from within. …Into a Real Thing is a six-song powerhouse that manages to cram an 11-minute cover of a garage rock hit by the guy who’d later write Hulk Hogan’s entrance song alongside gut-bucket ballads with intricate string arrangements, and metaphorical tracks that compare grocery delivery to lovemaking. Its 33 minutes feel more like a fever dream than most other collections of 33 minutes.

“The Coup’s second album, 1994’s Genocide & Juice, was an emboldened level-up from their first full length. While early Coup material had moments that blossomed on later efforts, Genocide & Juice was where those ideas deepened, becoming more pronounced as their catalog grew. Production wise, it’s replete with colorful samples, thorough skits and big bass, a perfect intersection of ’90s sample-based ingenuity and West Coast funk.

Genocide & Juice is mainly two things: neighborhood tales and unapologetic worldviews bound with fisted activism — made by the group’s core members at the time — Riley, Pam the Funkstress and E-Roc. But there are voices and sound effects woven throughout that give it more texture. Killer production that was able to sound both clearly professional while retaining its edge. At a concise 14 tracks, this album is one of the best sophomore efforts by any group, in any genre.”

While it didn’t sell as many copies as the record deserved at the time, it’s a product of these band members’ years of hard work gigging in sweaty night clubs, backing up other artists as session players and persevering through a thankless industry. Above all, it’s a testament to New Orleans.”
