Adam Beyer's Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno's number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary.

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn't fit in their regular EP release schedule.

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label's established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode's multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.

Led by the stealth techno funk of 'Nine of You', Beyer's deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck.

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O'Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016.


Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Australian label Nightime Drama, run by Peter Fincher (aka Vibrio) and Shaun Franklin (aka Trebek) now serves up its second standout release of 2016. This four track affair comes hot on the heels of the last by Yoshihiro Arikawa, and is a second release on the label by Aussie live act, DJ and producer Trinity, with Steven Tang and Italian based Andee on the remix. Trinity has also released on OOC, Coincidence and Android Muziq and regularly performs all round Europe. His sound deep and cosmic, heady and hypnotic, as the fresh tracks here prove. Cascade Drive is seven minutes of direct and elastic house with spacey pads and driving drums carrying you through the cosmos. From the Earthmothern label and one half of RK's, Andee strips it back to a slick rubber kick drum then layers in a forceful acid line and icy hi hats to really get you under its spell. The longform groove is physical and cerebral in equal measure. The next original is Expansion, and again finds Trinity serving up a hi tech and soul infused deep techno sound that is lithe and liquid, smeared with great pads and truly timeless. Emphasis boss Steven Tang is the perfect man to remix given his style, and his version flips the cut into a more heavyweight and banging techno effort, but one that is just as littered with sci fi sounds, spaceship trails and intergalactic energies.

For the second release on Alex Bradley's Utopia Records we see the return of London based producer Dominic Jacobson aka 'Modaji'. Dominic's initial Modaji and Harvey Lindo releases garnered acclaim from luminaries such as Francois Kevorkian, Derrick May and Gilles Peterson and after 10 years away from releasing to concentrate on composing music for film and television, Jacobson returns to the studio to delve further into his deep house and ambient soundscapes.
The first of two EP's, Belle Epoque touches on a more cinematic approach to production and showcases a warmer, more expanded sound.The aim is to create music that is as listenable during the dusky twilight hours as it is at sunrise. The rest we leave to your imagination and trust you will enjoy our offering.

To celebrate Kontra-Musik Records hitting the ten-year mark, founder and label owner Ulf Eriksson has put together a collection of some of our finest releases. This has been a daunting task, for we are happy to announce that we could easily have made several very different compilations that we would have been equally contented with - there are so many superb tracks we had to leave out. This has, however, been a labour of love. Much like the label itself. Eclecticism has always been a lodestar for Ulf Eriksson, as we hope this collection gives testimony to. The label has always been moving freely between techno, house and more experimental sounds. Kontra-Musik intends to show different angels of perspective, not to convert you to a new Religion or Ideology. Being open to a broad variety of sounds and rhythms - judging them not solely by their functionality but rather by their personality - has been the Kontra-Musik way from day one. While it has been a crooked and sometimes exceedingly hard road to follow, we're hoping to carry on for several years to come. After 10 years, the label still feels meaningful and current to us - in short: it's still worth it. Kontra-Musik would like to thank everyone - from contributing artists to faithful friends of the label who have supported us all these years. None of this would have been possible without you.

Ark & Pit Spector continue their inspired journey with an extended EP full of groovy jams and absorbing rhythms for Hold Youth. The Frenchmen have formed a potent alliance with a series of expertly-crafted, high-quality releases dropping over the last couple of years. On this new EP they go deeper into their sound explorations with five original works and a remix from their Parisian buddy and Hold Youth member, Le Loup. First up, we go into bumping jazzy territory with 'Chauffage Central', a mesmerising cut with swirling pads, soulful vocal clips and a jaunty b-line. Straight up after that, Hold Youth rudeboy Le Loup gives 'Chauffage Central' a funky little rework, throwing live sounding percussion, Nubian vocal clips, trumpet parps and a pumping bassline into the mix which gives a totally different identity. The final track on side A, is a cheeky teaser called 'Petite Ondée'. Rolling out for just under two minutes the track has a muffled, jazz-esque feel to it with a warm rolling bassline and bright, sparkling piano keys.

On the flip we kick off with 'Air Conditionelle', a lush, retro feeling with those oh-so-familiar heavy-hitting eighties snare licks. The bassline takes you to a New York City street and the whole atmosphere is that of an old school NYC neighbourhood, while a spoken-word sample adds a human touch just before the track comes to an end. 'Sub Tropical' goes a little leftfield with an unusual combination of sounds in tandem with a pulsating low end, occasional sax licks and punchy percussion to give it plenty of energy. 'Averse Et Contre Tous' closes out the EP with a slothish ride into the sunset - Ark and Pit Spector show their experimental side presenting an odd union between blues samples, gruff electronic sounds and piano keys.

Another triumphant effort from Ark and Pit Spector, in fact, some of the finest work to date. Make sure you check it out!

After contributing a remix for our label in 2011 Daniel Stefanik now returns to Raum with his first solo single under his new moniker DLSK. The A side - Sense of doubt' is a bit more stripped down and melodic, as the B side and also the title track of this release - Subterraneans' is more of a jazzy house groove, that simply doesn't stop rolling and keeps the tension with subtle variations and other nice little gimmicks. As always we truly hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as we do and we are happy to have Daniel back on board as for sure he can be called one of Germany's top notch producers.

Today we bring the debut single from Gutti Legatto & Mike Denitz called - El Pasacalle . The exciting original is backed by two excellent remixes from Lucio Spain and Fideles.

- El Pasacalle crawls up your neck like dark anticipation. Delicate beats smoothly build to a deep bassline, this track is a pure dancefloor rocket. We already know that this track will raising some roofs throughout the summer.

Following that, it's Lucio Spain on the remix, dropping a different groove but with equal impact. Perfectly reflecting his style, deep but powerful and with passion. This techie edge gives the track a little more bite and drive, making it perfect for late night sessions.

The Fideles remix takes the original even deeper and with it's super-low bassline. Fideles brings his own distinctive sound to the track with high-hats that snap and clap over some ultra-funky, bouncing bass. This remix takes - El Pasacalle deep underground, rubs it raw, and delivers it back to us in a package that is, well, just fabulous!

- Pasamontanas the second original explores a deep, tribal vibe with darker elements that drive the tension to crowd pleasing levels. It is a straight up, in your face monster. There's no way to get around it, so we recommend to relax and undergo the sonic punishment.

RFBCOLOURS 002 bring L'Atelier on board. This pair from Amsterdam bring you a 4 track EP with a digi only bonus. It starts off with Again, which hits that great sample hard and gets the party started on a disco vibe with a house twist. Then theres XTC which carries on where the A1 left off. On the flip we see a serious piano workout on top of a a grooving drum arragement. To finish off the vinyl package we see Times Are Ruff take the remix on a deeper tip with some seriously crunchy basslines and rolling groove. After their stunning 2012 debut single "Wish" (FM X / Wish 001) and last year's "Diggin' On You" (D.O.C. 001), the incredibly gifted ELEKFANTZ return to the fore with what can only called a brilliant full-length premiere. The duo of Daniel and Leo first met 20 years ago, when they played together in a blues band. Leo continued his carreer as a professional musician while Daniel started to discover a new musical path.

The latter was born and bred at the electronic music temple in South America, later becoming a resident DJ and local hero, known as the right guy to prepare the dance floor and set up the right mood. He's one of the finest DJs of the Brazilian new wave of electronic aficionados. Leo is a professional drummer, singer and composer since the age of 15. He played and recorded with some of the greatest artists in Brazil.

Für SPEICHER 73 haben sich Hollands Synth-Epiker QUINCE sowie der in Berlin lebende Techno- und Modekünstler TOM PETERS hinters Mischpult begeben, um in zwei meisterhaft auskomponierten Tracks der Suche nach dem Horizont zu frönen.

Weltweit von DJs zum Einsatz gebracht, sind QUINCE's Techno-Etüden ein bekannter Klang im elektronischen Kosmos, dank starker Releases auf respektierten Labels wie etwa DELSIN oder MUSIC MAN RECORDS. Seine Produktionen beeindrucken generell mit ihrer profunden Kenntnis der großen Skylines, doch irrt der holländische Meister hier ein wenig ab von seinem Kurs durch 4/4-Welten und verliert sich stattdessen in den weitläufigen Kellerkorridoren des wolhltemperierten Schaffelbeats. Zwei Stunden nördlich von Berlin liegt Kartlows kleiner Ortsteil Unnode, wo der ansonsten eher umtriebig veranlagte TOM PETERS wohlverdiente Ruhe in den Alltag eines DJs, Produzenten und angehenden Modezaren einkehren last. Hier, in inspirierender Nähe zur Ostsee, entwirft er die Skizzen für die meisten Tracks; so auch für TAKE YOUR CHANCE, dessen Silhouette sich deutlich geprägt sieht von der Weite der lokalen Natur. Toms Produktionen weisen alle Anzeichen transzendentaler Melancholie auf, verfehlen jedoch nie das urbane Momentum: sein Beitrag für SPEICHER 73 präsentiert eine simple, doch weitläufige Melodie, deren Haar vom Beat elegant zurückgebunden wurde, Futter für die Beine und die Seele. Ganz wie die handgedruckten Botschaften seiner eigenen Modeserie SAVE FASHION, vermag nämlich auch Toms Musik auf dem dünnen Seil zwischen dem Einfachen und dem Mehrdeutigen zu balancieren... dream on, dreamer.

Nonclassical are proud to release Nneka Cummins’ Ivor Classical Award-winning finding gills (when they try to drown you), pairing the original orchestral work with its remix, finding gills realms and possibilities.

Originally commissioned and composed during Nneka’s time on nonclassical’s Artist in Residence programme and premiered by Sinfonia Smith Square in 2025, the work marks their first large-scale exploration of fixed electronics alongside chamber orchestra. Built entirely from its source material, the remix dissolves the perceived sacredness and permanence of orchestral music, stretching, warping and reassembling its fragments into a fluid electronic form.

Drawing on fragments of earlier compositions, Finding Gills embodies both destruction and creation, embracing the spirit of metamorphosis. Inviting the listener to sit in moments of dissonant discomfort and distress, an emerging sense of hope gradually reveals itself through radiant strings and spiralling melodies. Hinting at a sense of tiredness that is continually renewed, sparks of new life blossom within a shifting orchestral landscape where memory, experimentation and survival coexist.

The title alludes to the Afrofuturist mythology of Drexciya, imagined by Detroit duo James Stinson and Gerald Donald, in which the descendants of pregnant African women who were thrown overboard during the transatlantic slave trade adapted to breathe underwater, creating a new civilisation beneath the sea. Nneka draws on this subtle reference as they are inspired by the deep creative alchemy of transforming horror into vibrant and powerful myth.

Nearly ten years after Nocturne, Girls in Hawaii make a major comeback with Eldorado, a fifth album marking a new chapter in the history of one of Belgian indie rock"s most iconic bands. Oscar Perry may not be a household name even in soul/blues circles, but this Texan's fine and expansive body of work deserves greater recognition. Throughout his career, he demonstrated multifarious talents as a producer, arranger, singer, songwriter and guitarist. He first cut his teeth in the late 1960s on Don Robey's Duke/Peacock/Backbeat set-up, writing for Bobby Bland amongst others. Once his contract with Robey had lapsed, Oscar signed with the equally colourful character Huey P. Meaux, for whom he recorded a slew of excellent albums on the Crazy Cajun imprint. It is the source of the three self-penned tracks presented here. Echoes of Jerry Butler can be heard on the string-laden emotive ballad "We'll Spend Tomorrow Falling In Love" (co-written with studio engineer Mickey Moody) with its femme support, whilst the piano-led deep beat-ballad "End Of The Road" was subsequently recorded by Bland on his Dreamer LP for ABC-Dunhill in 1974. The strong, mid-paced, bluesy "I Give Up You Win" completes this wonderful EP.

Emerging in 2023, Die Anstalt are a Berlin-based post-punk and minimal synth trio who quickly established themselves with a blistering fusion of early EBM, synth-punk, and classic post-punk. Their sound channels the grit and tension of 1980s industrial sub cultures while feeling unmistakably contemporary. Recently signed to City Slang worldwide, the band are reissuing their independently released debut album through the label. They have also announced a UK and Ireland tour supporting A Place to Bury Strangers, alongside a hometown headline show at Berlin's legendary SO36 in November 2026.

This album was born from a long-held, quiet ambition. I always wanted to navigate the entire journey of a record – from the first written note to the final mix. Winterglare is the result of finally stepping into that journey. Recorded in my home, the process was inextricably linked to the life happening just outside the door. Being surrounded by the daily routine and family created a unique tension; time felt precious, limited, and often fleeting. At first, finding mental stillness felt impossible. Yet as the winter deepened, a shift occurred. I found a place of unexpected calmness, where the music began to float, and the domestic noises around me became an accompaniment rather than an interruption. What began as an idea for a piano album expanded to include the Wurlitzer electric piano and the Gigster vibraphone. Some pieces evolved into experiments with percussion, accordion, and finally, the Roland tape echo and field recordings. Throughout this growth, the vision remained: to preserve a sense of space and time, allowing the true ambience of the moment to breathe. My hope is that these compositions find a place in your own quiet moments. On Chuck Strangers’ latest opus, Glory Of The King’s Hand, he raps, “I still rap from the perspective of my government name…” The stage name “Chuck Strangers” is, of course, an alias but it’s not necessarily an alter ego. For the man born Che Jessamy, his rap moniker isn’t some over-the-top rock star persona contrived for public consumption, it’s just a name. What you hear on his records is really who he is - a heavy-tongued griot from East Flatbush, Brooklyn with a gift for vivid stream-of-consciousness storytelling. His bars are imbued with the wisdom he’s gained in his lifetime - especially in the 14 years since he first made his debut with the Pro Era collective.


The elaborate title of his new album, Glory Of The King’s Hand, speaks to his gratitude for the hand that life’s dealt him, which is a pretty good one. At age 34, he does what he loves professionally and does it on his own terms. That’s something to be thankful for.


Glory Of The King’s Hand, not only represents Chuck’s matured attiGlory attitude but also his matured sound. Key to this refined approach was tude collaboration. Chuck is a proficient beatmaker in his own right as evidenced by his production for himself and artists like Joey Baevidenced Badass, and Boldy James.
