Deutsche Grammophon launch a Gold Vinyl Edition of Benny Andersson’s phenomenal global hit album PIANO (from 2017). Legendary ABBA songwriter and co-founder to release career spanning 21-track solo piano album via Deutsche Grammophon The concept is an instrumental piano album, featuring Benny playing songs spanning his entire career, including those from ABBA, songs from his musicals and beautiful, emotional solo work. ‘Piano’ takes listeners on a 21-track journey through his acclaimed and celebrated career as songs from ABBA, his musicals and other solo-compositions are re-interpreted as you have never heard them before, performed unaccompanied by just Benny himself, on his trusted grand piano. "UMC celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Band’s classic fourth album, Cahoots, with an assembly of newly remixed, remastered and expanded 50th Anniversary Edition packages, including a multi-format Super Deluxe 2CD/Blu-ray/1LP/7-inch vinyl box set along with a 2CD and 180-gram half-speed-mastered black vinyl. All the Anniversary Edition releases were overseen by principal songwriter Robbie Robertson and sport a new stereo mix by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi-track masters. The box set and CD configurations boast a bevy of unreleased recordings, including Live at the Olympia Theatre, Paris, May 1971, a rousing bootleg partial concert consisting of 11 tracks culled from the initial throes of a European tour that found The Band perched at the top of their live game; and early and alternate versions of “Endless Highway” and “When I Paint My Masterpiece” along with six other early takes, outtakes, instrumentals, and stripped-down mixes.
Exclusively for this box set, Clearmountain has also created new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround-sound mixes of both the album and four bonus tracks, presented in high resolution on Blu-ray, alongside the new stereo mix. Every new audio mix has been mastered by Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering. The lift-top box set also includes an exclusive reproduction of the Japanese pressing of The Band’s 1971 7-inch vinyl single for “Life Is A Carnival” b/w “The Moon Struck One” in their new stereo mixes; a 20-page booklet with new notes by Robbie Robertson and extensive insider liner notes by Rob Bowman; three classic photo lithographs, one each by Barry Feinstein, Richard Avedon (his infamous eyes-closed group portrait from the back cover) and noted New York artist/illustrator Gilbert Stone (who painted the still stunning stretched-out portrait of The Band on the album’s front cover); plus a wealth of additional material and other historical data from the original recordings sessions. Killswitch Engage first shook the structure of heavy music upon climbing out of snowy industrialized Western Massachusetts in 2000. The Doors found their mojo (and Mr. Mojo Risin’) in November 1970 as they recorded L.A. Woman over six days at the Workshop, the band’s rehearsal space on Santa Monica Boulevard. A success both critically and commercially, the album was certified double-platinum and contains some of the band’s most enduring music, including the Top 20 hit “Love Her Madly,” “Riders On The Storm,” and the title track.
To commemorate the album’s 50-year anniversary, Rhino keeps on risin’ with a 3-CD/1-LP set that will be available on December 3rd. L.A. WOMAN: 50TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION includes the original album newly remastered by The Doors’ longtime engineer and mixer Bruce Botnick, two bonus discs of unreleased studio outtakes, and the stereo mix of the original album on 180-gram virgin vinyl.
For this new collection, the original album has been expanded with more than two hours of unreleased recordings taken from the sessions for L.A. Woman, allowing the listener to experience the progression of each song as it developed in the studio. An early demo for “Hyacinth House” recorded at Robby Krieger’s home studio in 1969 is also included.
The outtakes feature Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Ray Manzarek working in the studio with two additional musicians. The first was rhythm guitarist Marc Benno, who worked with Leon Russell in The Asylum Choir. The other was bassist Jerry Scheff, who was a member of Elvis Presley’s TCB band.

The Lord of the Rings film trilogy is among the most successful in cinematic history. Based on the popular J.R.R. Tolkien novel of the same name, these award-winning movies were directed by Peter Jackson and scored by composer Howard Shore. The epic story of Middle-earth arrived in theaters 20 years ago, in December 2001, when The Fellowship Of The Ring made its highly anticipated debut.

To celebrate that milestone, Rhino is releasing a 12” picture disc that includes “May It Be,” the critically acclaimed single Enya recorded for the film’s soundtrack. In 2002, that song was released on a CD single with two more Enya songs: “Isobella” and “The First of Autumn.” Those tracks will make their vinyl debut on MAY IT BE to be released on December 3rd.

Peter Jackson asked Enya to write a song for The Lord of the Rings. She agreed and began writing what would become ‘May it be’ with her longtime producer/arranger Nicky Ryan and her lyricist, Roma Ryan.

Embraced by fans and critics alike, “May It Be” would go on to be nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Original Song; a Golden Globe® Award for Best Original Song; and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Enya recorded the other two songs featured on MAY IT BE while making her fifth studio album, A Day Without Rain. #6 on the UK Album Chart, the album has sold more than 16 million copies and is ranked as the best-selling new-age album of all time. “The First Of Autumn” is an instrumental that appears on the original studio album. Originally released by Bethlehem Records in 1959, NINA SIMONE AND HER FRIENDS was a compilation album comprised of the few remaining, unreleased tracks from the Little Girl Blue recording session plus songs recorded by two other former Bethlehem artists, the powerhouse jazz vocalist Carmen McRae and the elegant song stylist Chris Connor.

As Daphne Brooks explains in the release’s brand new essay, “Bethlehem clustered their work—tracks that had previously appeared on the label’s Girlfriends compilation—together with the younger, upstart Simone’s and essentially offered up a collection of songs that span a range of genres—folk, jazz, pop song staples, and torch song laments, plus a couple of provocative original compositions by McRae and Simone. Our next release, and now long-awaited, is a collaboration between IMOGEN and Ben Pest. This follows IMOGEN's earlier appearance on Earwiggle which was a highlight of the Eel Behaviour series. We're big fans of Ben Pest and are very pleased to have the pair debuting their first full release together on the label.

From the hyperactive opener "Volts", that effortlessly juggles raw analogue techno with UK hardcore and all manner of rude bass wobbles, they soon delve into further chaos through the squawks and clatters of broken industrial cut "Gramalkin". "Shibooty" is a perky take on Chi-town techno, upping the funk levels through bustling shuffled 909s, humming bass and cartoonish vocal sequences. With the brooding acid electro of "Misjudgement Day", IMOGEN and Ben pile on some extra modular drones for the road, finishing off the EP in killer fashion.

Little Girl Blue features two of Simone’s most well-known tracks. Her sensational rendition of “I Love You, Porgy” was a big hit upon release, and was her only song to crack Billboard’s Top 20. Her jaunty performance of “My Baby Just Cares for Me” brought Simone renewed public interest after it was used in a popular 1987 Chanel No. 5 TV commercial.

You Should Be Here, the 2015 follow-up to debut mixtape Cloud 19 from Bay Area-born two-time GRAMMY Award-nominated multiplatinum songstress Kehlani, is out on vinyl on November 26th.

The 15-track mixtape, available as a physical vinyl, includes the hugely popular tracks “The Way”, “You Should Be Here” and “Jealous”, with appearances on the album from Chance the Rapper, BJ The Chicago Kid, Lexii Alijai & Coucheron.
