The music of Foreign Material carries an invisible veil: at first glance this is great, potent and highly functional contemporary Techno. But for those willing to see, behind the veil there's more than meets the eye. An old, wise Baba-DJ once claimed that we are merely "redefining the ancient tribal ritual for the 21st century". Titles like "Kantae Niskae" and "Drums Of Kaltjär" alludes to that specific, long forgotten past that we all still carry deep within. The blissful and etheric A-side, contrasted by the caveman mania of "Kaltjär", represent the dualistic nature of our scene, our sound and our aim as a label, and encapsulates everything we love with Foreign Material's unique approach to Dance Music.

On remix duty we have none other than Stockholm based "Deep" pioneer Evigt Mörker. Expertly withdrawn, edited and added, he's created a groovy, yet atmospheric, DJ-tool for the ages. Expect to notice it in a wide array of DJ-sets in the near future.

The 14th release on Tooman Records is a Berlin-crafted record from Tanja, one half of the duo Quadrakey, stepping forward with an EP that reflects her personal musical language. Issued as a hand-stamped white label, it features four tracks of beautiful, emotional and groovy deep house. After recent Ron Allen reissues on Emotions Electric and our own Classic Cuts imprint, it's time to revamp the mothership itself: Strobe Records. First one up in this new campaign is R.A.S.E.'s The Ron Allen Sound Experience EP -- a four-tracker, originally out in 1991, that captures what is timeless about Allen's signature sound: warm basslines, soulful vocals, and that Toronto swing. The A-side serves up two uplifting mixes of Get On Up, while the B-side goes deeper, yet keeping the soul fully intact. A perfect reintroduction to one of Canada's prime house architects.

When Brazilian producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Diogo Strausz arrived in France, he already carried an impressive legacy. Known for his collaborations with the New York label Razor-N-Tape and for producing Brazilian legends such as Gal Costa and Marília Mendonça—whose tracks have gathered millions of streams worldwide—Strausz quickly made a name for himself among an international audience. His productions have also been remixed by acclaimed artists like Yuksek and Ron Trent, further cementing his global reach.

After two critically acclaimed releases on the French label Goutte d’Or Records (Flight of Sagittarius, 2022, and Samba From Outer Space, 2024), Diogo Strausz now naturally joins Favorite Recordings for a new chapter in his musical journey.

On this new album, Strausz pays tribute to the golden era of Brazilian Disco-Funk from the late 1970s and early 1980s, drawing inspiration from visionary producers Robson Jorge and Lincoln Olivetti. The result is an organic, ambitious, and deeply groovy record that celebrates both the vibrant dance culture and the rich musical heritage of Brazil.

Faithful to Favorite Recordings’ analog spirit, the album was crafted using vintage studio gear, capturing the warmth and depth of classic recordings reminiscent of the legendary Estúdios da Sigla sessions in Rio de Janeiro.

The explosive track “Ele é Artista”, featuring Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart (Voilaaa, Mr. President, João Selva, Uptown Funk Empire), is a standout moment—a dancefloor-ready bomb that channels the joyful energy and irresistible funk of modern tropical productions.

UK house veteran Andy Riley, best known as half of Inland Knights, is back with new solo beats on the Frosted Recordings label. Lead single 'Minute By Minute' is a slow, groovy, sensual sound with 90s downbeat vibes and interesting synth textures. Pacific Northwest native Trevor Vichas steps up with his Dark Deep mix which brings a meandering bassline and more uptempo house drums then Canadian export Jason Hodges steps up with two versions. A1 “Cleanse” is zippy tech-y house…think groovy, up-beat, sexy, like something you’d hear in a Titonton Duvante set. A2 is a remix, “Teakup – Where’s My Snare (Gladstone Deluxe Remix)”. Now the EP takes a turn towards psychedelic electro. Spacey trippy vocal manipulations, swelling deep space gravitational waves swelling and resolving. The B side opens with the “No Haterade” track. Jason Velo hails from Wisconsin and has been DJing for years, mostly in the rams of Chicago and Detroit house., He has recently decided to branch out into production and this latest outing comes on Noonish and is deep, groovy and minimal house for afterparties in cosy basements. Opener 'Dream Wheel' has diffuse, humid chords radiating out of a gentry bumping deep house groove, while 'Slow Burn' is just that with its horizontal vibes and gentle patter of drums over a nice rolling bassline. 'Lost Remote' is far less anxious than the situation it describes, though it does have a more eerie and cosmic feel than the others with its deft melodies and larger sense of scales. Tasteful stuff.

« Do My Stuff (Ears in Space Mix) » picks up right where the opening track leaves off. Striking a balance between dreamy and nostalgic, its deep bass and driving percussion lay down the rhythm, while the airy melodies scatter like autumn leaves.

With « Take The Heartbreak », Nurse Erica explores a universal rite of passage. The first half of the track, broken and introspective, gradually gives way to a brighter second half : a glimmer of hope for every broken heart.

'The album was entirely crafted through writing sessions with talented musicians, writers, and singers. This approach brings something unique, as being in the room with other creatives adds an extra layer of creativity and depth, enhancing the production quality. Fusing sounds that represent different eras of Riva’s career, 'Keep Me On The Dancefloor' wistfully and effortlessly glides between disco, funk, soul, filtered house, and even the guitar licks of classic rock; a sum of his career to date, it is a body of work that focusses on amplifying the positive moments, memories, and experiences that can only be found in music. Exploring what it means to connect with someone in the moment; a celebration of losing your inhibitions to the music and finding yourself completely in sync with someone you’ve only just met.

Charged with storytelling and heartfelt lyrics, his most personal work to date is the result of a considered approach to making music, one of collaboration with one foot still on the dancefloor, and the other firmly in the studio guiding an array of talent to build something unique with him. Moving away from the DJ-friendly cuts that have underpinned much of Starr’s career, the fifteen tracks on 'Keep Me On The Dancefloor' are much deeper. With singer Harry Stone providing catchy toplines and infectious vocals across at least half of the album, there is a clear maturity on display at every level.

Additional features come from electro-funk duo Chromeo on the irresistibly groovy 'I Was Lost', and Prince-esque vocals from Nic Hanson on '(I’ll Be Your) Paradise'. 'Know You Love Me' – the laid-back, sun-kissed cut with Flight Facilities – compliments the melancholy vocals of Biishop on “Wildfire” and the disco-infused 'It Feels Much Better' with Harry Stone.

Francis Bebey was a visionary who explored the intersection of African traditions and global music long before it became a global trend. Born in Cameroon, Bebey's sound was an eclectic blend of his rich cultural heritage and his deep exploration of modern music, spanning genres from traditional folk and jazz to funk and electronic experimentation. As an artist, Bebey was ahead of his time, using his unique voice and instruments to forge new paths for African music to be heard worldwide. His legacy is not just in the music he created but in the way he opened doors for the global recognition of African artists, influencing generations of musicians, producers, and fans alike.

This release marks an exciting moment, as we introduce remixes of bebeys iconic productions by contemporary electronic producers, giving new life through creative re imaginings.

Le Grand Soleil De Dieu (Psychemagik Remix): The UK-based musical duo are known for their eclectic blend of electronic music, psychedelic rock and mystical global sounds. Formed by Danny McLewin and Tommy McLewin, the duo has carved out a unique niche within the global music scene though their intricate arrangements. Their Remixes and Collaborations have been with artists like Fleetwood Mac, Tame Impala, and Hercules & Love Affair. Their psychedelic dub remix has otherworldly qualities, with dreamy atmospheres and bouncing baselines throughout this brilliant opening track.

Guinee (Turbotito Edit): The Berlin-based DJ and producer known for his infectious blend of house, disco, and funk. With a knack for smooth, groovy beats and a deep love for melody, Turbotito's music brings a fresh, energetic vibe to the dance floor. On this track, he effortlessly re-imagines and elevates the world of Guinee to match his signature sound. A combination of a great pulsing base line, ethereal vocals and bird sound effects incorporated into the percussion makes this track an absolute stand out.

Agatha (Voilaaa Remix): Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart from Lyon is the brains behind the Voilaaa project. Fusing soulful grooves, funk, and disco with an unmistakable French touch, Voilaaa creates infectious, feel-good rhythms that blend classic and contemporary influences. In this track we find the first big hook of the album vocally, coupled with Bebey's lively humour in spoken French on top of joyous instrumentation. The smooth vocals, catchy melodies, and vibrant arrangements, bring a fresh energy to the original hit track - a brilliant homage.

Forest Nativity (Red Axes Edit): Red Axes are a dynamic electronic music duo from Tel Aviv, blending disco, house, and psychedelic influences into infectious, genre-defying tracks. Known for their unique sound, warm analog textures, and hypnotic rhythms, Niv Arzi and Dori Simao craft music that moves both the body and the mind. Forest Nativity arrives as a full circle closer, incorporating some of the most authentic African instruments such as a Balafon, an instrument similar to a xylophone and a Djembe, a hand drum central to many West African traditions. The 7 minute track is guaranteed to take you on a fascinating journey through Bebey's culture and livelihood.

Eliott Litrowski's Eyes Need Sugar EP brings a vibrant mix of electro, house, and deep grooves, designed for the dancefloor. Produced in Copenhagen for Dischi Autunno, the EP opens with the title track, Eyes Need Sugar, featuring trancey synths, a heavy bassline, and playful drums. Bright Lights, Big City follows with a Chicago house flavor and groovy acid lines, while Highway To Holler brings high-energy electro rhythms. The EP closes with Delicate Dance, blending electro and Italo influences with emotive pads and acid bass.

No Drama, the label helmed by Roy Rosenfeld, reflects his musical vision and personal philosophy, showcasing artists whom Roy respects not only as innovators of new sonic landscapes but also as individuals of character. The imprint proudly introduces its third release: a two-track offering by Khen.
Known for his groovy and melodic house sound, Khen has earned international recognition for his unique style.
The opening track, Back in the Days, introduces modulated deep vocals that stamp the composition with a signature sound. A1 with 'Dodo' by P.O is a touching and deep track resembling an emotional dark disco/techno melancholic story tale with a happy ending. Next is 'Arcade' a fast 80ties inspired minimal acid house beat recorded on a groovy and uplifting note.
Flipping to the side B with progressive house ‘Homesick’ by B.ai and Marcelina combining Asian profoundness with Slavic edge. This is followed by P.O’s remix of the ‘Homesick’ adding more punch and techno to the track and the VA.

It’s been 6 years now since our last collaboration with Roar Groove and The Revenge in 2019. So it was about time to unleash some new heavy hitters by this House master.

With the opener “Twisted Signal” this EP sets the pace and tone to spiraling and pulsating sines, great grooves and hypnotic vocal use. Dark dance floor material at it’s best! Followed by the deep “Spiral Highway” the a-side is one long live jam. On the b-side we take back the pace and make it groovy-er with the House cut “Open Your Eyes” in a true classic “Revenge” style.
