The latest project by "El Gusano", a moniker of the elusive Pablo Arrangoiz, aka Dj Fitness, Bauzer Vep, Señor Faxwater, Glue Boy, Goiz and too many more to list (seriously, check out his Bandcamp/discogs). Arrangoiz is a Mexican native based in Miami, known as much for his ever varying aliases as he is for his scrupulous production and sui generis live and DJ sets. Focused on incorporating Latin ritmos with contemporary elements of his other influences such as house, techno, free jazz, German new wave, electro, Miami bass, noise, and more, Arrangoiz’s production, much like the artist himself, is one of a kind.

Saka La Bolsita", the inaugural release on Impacto, the new label and love child of Miami powerhouse producers Nick León and Jonny From Space, is a sonic conglomeration of acid cumbia with slivering jazz chords, microtonal reggaetón constructed with a tuning system made by finding the overtones of air conditioners, demonic dembow with a dash of house, Autotune Festival sex music, and all out pure ratchet core with an El Chavó sample. Part I
In the fight against Alzheimer's, epilepsy, schizophrenia and other diseases characterized by an imbalance in neuronal activity, there are chemical weapons, such as those that try to prevent the protein fragments known as beta-amyloid plaques from developing in the cerebral cortex , and physical, such as electrical stimulation that allow to restore the functionality of brain cells. This last resort, which has already been shown to be effective in modifying the activity of the cerebral cortex, is today a weapon of general intervention. Converting it to precision requires the development of individualized and predictive brain models that allow identifying where and how much to stimulate each patient. To achieve this, an international European team is working on the creation of virtual replicas of the most unknown organ in the body: the Neurotwin project.

According to recent research, the decrease in power in the neuronal oscillations of the gamma band of the cerebral cortex (a pattern whose frequency ranges between 20 and 50 Hertz) favors the development of protein fragments related to Alzheimer's.

Transcranial application of weak electrical currents has proven to be an effective and painless way to modulate brain activity without side effects.

The objective is to create complete computational models of the brain with real data of living beings (human patients) and that allow to anticipate and specify the effects of non-invasive stimulation techniques on neurological mechanisms.

The Neurotwin project is the successor to an initiative that encompasses many projects called Virtual Physiological Human, which was based on the idea of creating a complete model of a human being on a computer, to perform non-invasive tests at the computational level. Now the concept has been derived to "Digital Twin", which seeks not only to have an equal computational model for everyone, but to create "twin" digital models of each patient in order to be able to make personalized medicine from the genome of each individual. Specifically, in our project, we have focused on digital twin brains, which would be representations of patient brains created from data extracted with current neuroimaging and brain activity monitoring techniques.

In schummriges Licht getaucht und auf ausgetretenen Pfaden feuertaufend, tragen A Deer A Horse den Dreck, die Härte und den Gusto hunderter Shows wie ein Ehrenabzeichen. Die Band vereint Rock, Metal und Punk in einer unheiligen Vereinigung, die von A.V. Club, Consequence of Sound, Village Voice und Revolver gelobt wurde, die sie als "irgendwo zwischen den Melvins, Helms Alee, Red Fang und Sleater-Kinney" beschrieben. Nachdem die Gruppe im Untergrund für Furore gesorgt hatte, schärfte sie auf ihrem 2022 erschienenen Debütalbum "Grind" ihre Kanten mit verstörenden Melodien und kathartischen Klageliedern.

Ein halbes Jahrhundert, oder in anderen Worten: 50 Jahre. So lang ist es bereits her, dass Udo Lindenberg das legendäre Panikorchester gründete. Am 13. August 1973 wurde dieser Zusammenschluss offiziell gemacht, seither war es wie ein unzertrennliches Bündnis, und auch wenn die Besetzung der Band stets einige Veränderungen mitmachte, sollte es doch als solches bis zuletzt bestehenbleiben. 1983, im selben Jahr, in dem auch Odyssee erschien, fand auch das legendäre Konzert im CCH (Congress Center Hamburg) statt, vor welchem die Besucher wohl nicht ahnen konnten, dass sie Teil eines weiteren ikonischen Releases werden sollten. Denn das am 19. März 1983 stattfindende Konzert wurde live aufgezeichnet und erschien im selben Jahr noch unter dem Namen Lindstärke 10 als offizielles Livealbum. Im Januar 1990 konnte Lindenberg mit dem neuen Panikorchester im Zuge der politischen Wende erstmals auch auf Tournee durch die ehemalige DDR gehen, wobei das Konzert in Leipzig ebenfalls aufgezeichnet und als das Livealbum Live in Leipzig ausproduziert und veröffentlicht wurde. Zeitsprung ins heutige Jahr 2023: Zum großen 50-jährigen Jubiläum des Panikorchesters erscheinen nun nicht nur diese beiden Livemitschnitte, sondern gemeinsam mit dem kaum weniger legendären Livealbum LIVE ’96, welches die bis heute anhaltende Reunion des originalen Panikorchesters dokumentiert und 1997 ebenfalls über Polydor erschien, und nun erstmals auf Vinyl verfügbar sein wird. Limitiert auf 2.000 Stück und nummeriert!

The concept of strict musical genre has arguably been dead for decades, and the latest offering from Danish powerhouses Gustaf Ljunggren and Emil de Waal once again reinforces this notion. Their third collaborative album "Stockholm Kobenhavn", a spacious, cinematic and boundaryless exploration of their shared musical connection is set to release on July 7th on April Records. Emil de Waal has been one of Denmark"s leading drummers for three decades. Gustaf Ljunggren initially studied the saxophone at the Rhythmic Conservatory of Copenhagen, where whispers spread throughout the school that he was the best saxophone player in town and yet never practiced. His career has seen him prove that he can bring grace, musicality and heart to any instrument he touches, from the pedal steel guitar, to the bass, piano, and more. In the words of Danish multi-instrumentalist Kresten Osgood, "Although an instrument may be new to him he is able to play it like he has had a lifetime of experience working with it. Over the years I think the only instrument I haven"t seen him play is the drums." "Stockholm Kobenhavn" has a vast array of influences including Jazz, Americana, Film Music and Electronica. It is full of space, coaxing the listener into a meditative state and inviting them to drift away with their own imagination. The record plays as a series of open-ended sketches or moods, absent of big defining melodies or familiar song-like structures. Each piece evolves over time, providing musical interest in the form of rhythmic ideas, rich harmony, texture, and repetitive melodic patterns from a guitar or rhodes. Imaginative electronic production techniques combine the warm sounds of acoustic instruments with a constantly developing palette of otherworldly textures and effects. Grounded by an unwavering pulse, the combination of programmed beats and acoustic drums provide the hypnotic foundation over which the pair explore and challenge their common musical ground. The album closes with an intimate recording from a performance at STUK in Belgium, with a comforting guitar-led Americana tune bringing the listener back into the room and sharing in the joy the duo have felt in playing together over the past twenty years.

In 2023 Deutsche Grammophon celebrates a wonderful milestone: its 125th birthday. To mark the occasion the Yellow Label makes a selection of LPs available on vinyl for the first time ever. Including legendary recordings by Daniil Trifonov, Hélène Grimaud, Hilary Hahn, Jan Lisiecki and many others. Arriving following 2020's 'Mercy', the new LP is released February 3rd 2023 on the group's new label home Fuzz Club Records and marks a return to the more scuzzy and abrasive rock ploughed over their decade and a half spent coursing through the grimy sewers of NYC. Here, nocturnal proto-punk meets a timeless, all-guns-blazing rock'n'roll gusto. That the album leans into a more primitive, back-to-basics sound owes largely to the way in which was forged, an earlier version of the record scrapped in favour of four people playing in a room together. "The New York City album was revised, reorganized and shaped until it became clear that things fall into place like the hammer driving the nail or the scythe's swipe through the tall grass." The end result is a series of cuts played live and recorded to 2" tape in Travis Harrison's (Guided By Voices, Built To Spill) Brooklyn studio. New York City' is a record that doesn't stop moving for a second, packed full of the kind of energy you can only really capture in a live setting. "These songs became the blood of the band as the band could only exist for and of these songs. There was no place else to hang their hats. Without making this record, the group would not exist, so there really wasn't another option. NYC is fluid. It means a lot of different things to all kinds of people. Lisa Bassenge ist zurück, und sie hat Blumen mitgebracht. Mit "Wildflowers" vollendet sie ihre Trio-Trilogie, wieder mit Jacob Karlzon am Klavier und Andreas Lang am Bass - wie schon bei "Borrowed and Blue" (2018) und "Mothers" (2020).

Elf Songs sind es diesmal, scheinbar querbeet und doch aus einem Guss. Von Dolly Parton bis Depeche Mode reicht die Bandbreite auf "Wildflowers", von Bob Dylan bis Death Cab for Cutie. Dazu Lisa Bassenges hintergründig-melancholische Eigenkomposition "Morning Song". Ein bunter Strauß, aber so wie die drei ihn arrangieren und darbieten, wirken die einzelnen Stücke nicht zusammengewürfelt, sondern wie Kapitel einer Erzählung. Jedes schillert für sich, doch das Ganze ist mehr als die Summe seiner Teile.

Das gilt auch für das Trio selbst. Die beiden Musiker - Jacob Karlzon aus Schweden und Andreas Lang aus Dänemark - betten Lisa Bassenges unverwechselbare Stimme in einen warmen, im besten Sinn skandinavischen Sound: entspannt, aber stets verbindlich; sehr spielfreudig, aber nie aufdringlich. "Dieser Sound hat uns gefunden", sagt Lisa Bassenge. Und auf "Wildflowers" haben die drei ihn zur Vollendung gebracht. Jeder Takt des Albums bezeugt die unglaubliche Chemie zwischen der Sängerin und den Musikern.

Was die Songs außerdem verbindet, ist die Qualität der Lyrics. Es sind poetische Texte von existentieller Tiefe, und in Lisa Bassenges eindringlicher Interpretation und glasklarer Phrasierung werden sie zum berauschenden Kopfkino.

Ist das nun Jazz, Pop oder Chanson? Mit "Wildflowers" zeigt das Lisa Bassenge Trio einmal mehr souverän, wie fließend die Grenzen zwischen vermeintlich ganz unterschiedlichen Genres sind. Diese Musik braucht keine Schublade. Es geht ihr um die Schönheit und Wahrheit der Songs.

On October 24th only Jimmy Bond was still with Chet : Peter littman had returned to America, and his seat was now accupied by Nils-Bertil ‘Bert’ Dahlander, a Swedish drummer who’d accompanied Lars Gullin. At the Keyboard was an almost-unknown pianist named Gérard Gustin who’d just been signed to a contract by Eddie Barclay. Given the context, they were obliged to fall back on standards. Chet knew how to play these better than anyone. He chose eight : ‘These Foolish Things’, wich stayed in his quartet’s répertoire for a while ; five others, wich the trumpeter performs here for the first time – ‘There’s a Small Hotel, Autumn In New York, Summertime, You Go To My Head, Tenderly – and two – I’ll Remember April and Lover Man – that he’d done less than tend ays earlier together with Lars Gullin and Dick Twardzik, whose disappearance was still something Chet refused to accept. Given this state of affairs, the whole session exudes a kind of sadness that’s impossible to put down, whatever the choice of tune or tempo.

Never before had Chet been as totally moving as he is throughout ‘You Go To My Head’.

The first album of the polish band Kristen was released by Gusstaff Rec. only in a limited edition of CD and on cassette in 2000.Kristen were one of the first who creatively transferred to Poland the fascination of the American independent guitar scene, such phenomena as math-rock, post-rock or whatever we call it.Today, they are often referred to as "one of the most important Polish alternative bands" or "the best band in the country from the circles of broadly understood independent music".The decision to reissue the debut, but for the first time on vinyl, was on the one hand dictated by the more and more frequent questions from fans, and on the other the publisher's conviction that this album has not grown old and should finally be released as it should be.

In jedem ernsthaften Gespräch über Death Metal muss der Name Vomitory auftauchen. Nach ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1989 veröffentlichten sie zwischen 1996 und 2011 acht der besten Alben, die das Genre je hervorgebracht hat. 2013 trennte sich das Quartett. Der Ruhestand der Band war jedoch nur von kurzer Dauer: 2019 kehrten sie auf die Bühnen zurück, um ihr 30-jähriges Bestehen zu feiern, und jetzt veröffentlichen sie ihr erstes neues Album seit zwölf Jahren, das monströse "All Heads Are Gonna Roll". Es bietet den klassischen Vomitory-Sound mit einigen neuen Wendungen und ist alles, was sich die treuen Fans erhofft haben, denn die Band hat sich Zeit gelassen, bevor sie sich dem Album widmete, anstatt es zu überstürzen.
