Dividing Lines ist ein Album voller Schatten und Licht, Verzweiflung und Hoffnung; die menschliche Erfahrung, gerendert in schillernden Breitbildfarben und mit all der Intensität und Leidenschaft aufgeführt, die Thresholds mehr als drei Jahrzehnte aktiven Dienst geprägt haben. Die britischen Könige des Prog Metal sind zurück und bereit, die Welt erneut zu erobern.

Während "Legends Of The Shires" eine in sich geschlossene Erzählung darstellte, die es THRESHOLD ermöglichte, ihrer Fantasie freien Lauf zu lassen, verzichtet "Dividing Lines" auf diesen konzeptionellen Ansatz zugunsten einer traditionelleren Gruppe von Songs, die durch ein verschwommenes, aber unverkennbares gemeinsames Thema verbunden sind.

Groningen raised, The Hague based Nathan Homan pleasantly surprised us with an EP full of future dance floor moments. The A-side contains two uptempo 4x4 tracks whith a subtle but strong 90's touch. On the B-side you'll find two percussive electro rollers.

Featuring the music of Academy, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino, whose credits feature some of the most popular and acclaimed film projects in recent history, including THE INCREDIBLES, COCO, JOJO RABBIT, RATATOUILLE, STAR TREK, JURASSIC WORLD, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, and WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. This is the fifth film Reeves and Giacchino have collaborated on.

Giacchino proves himself, once more, as one of the greatest living composers, by introducing a powerful and instantly canonized new theme to one of the most musically iconic superheroes. When director Matt Reeves heard the theme for the first time, he was with film producer Dylan Clark. “I was blown away!” He exclaimed. “It was so emotional. The two of us literally cried…it was amazing.”

Though it's not only the world's greatest detective who emerges with a new theme - Selina Kyle / Catwoman's new string heavy theme is slinky and haunted like that of a classic noir's femme fatale. And Giacchino's take on The Riddler is far more haunted, accompanied by the Tiffin Boys choir, a truly terrifying and dread-inducing motif for one of the scariest takes on a Gotham villain, to date.

On March 16, 1968, the United States Army killed over 500 unarmed
civilians in the hamlet of My Lai, Vietnam
The unimaginable brutality of the event impacted all those who witnessed it
firsthand, including helicopter pilot Hugh Thompson, who, against orders,
intervened to save Vietnamese lives. Thompson's story is the basis of the opera
My Lai, composed by Jonathan Berger (music) and Harriet Scott Chessman
(libretto) for Kronos Quartet, Vietnamese multi-instrumentalist Vân-Ánh Vanessa
Võ, and vocalist Rinde Eckert. This definitive recording of My Lai captures the
visceral, phantasmal depictions of Thompson's grief, horror, and guilt as he is
haunted by persistent memories of that cataclysmic day, half a world and nearly
four decades away. Tense and unforgiving, My Lai is "a gripping affair, beginning
to end" (New York Times). Presented here alongside recollections by Vietnamese
survivor Tran Van Duc, it is a memorial to all the My Lai villagers killed on that
grim day.

Formidable psychic warriors, channelers of the mystic and proponents of a spiritual quest that transcends this realm, Goat remain a band shrouded in mystery. Travelling from their inscrutable origins in the Swedish village of Korpilombo across the stages and festivals of the world in the last decade, this band has created their incendiary music entirely according to their own co-ordinates. With all this in mind, the casual observer might have guessed from its title that ‘Requiem’, their beatific and melancholic album of 2016, was to be their last. Yet the ancestral spirits summoned by their art are always restless. Thus the eternal cycles of rebirth have triumphantly produced ‘Oh Death’ - a ceremonial conflagration as powerful as any this band has made. Invigorated by forces we can only guess at the origins of, ‘Oh Death’ is a party to which all are welcome. Blithely waving away easy classification, these heat-hazed serenades are just as comfortable in the headspace of vicious ‘70s funk as they are in zesty ZE records post-punk. Folk-haunted incantations and free jazz skronk here find common ground, buoyed by relentless forward motion and raucous energy. Yet all of the above is locked into a delirious gnostic groove that threatens to throw the whole shebang spiralling into orbit. ‘Oh Death’ is driven by a supernatural charge that unifies, invigorates and transcends borders, whether geographical, musical, or between this world and the next. In the hands of these sages and soothsayers, this is just the beginning.

They recruited the enigmatic singer Anna Carolina (Royal Lips), drummer extraordinaire Toni Ronkainen (Kuolemanlaakso) and producer-engineer Jaani Peuhu (Swallow the Sun, Lord of the Lost etc.), and recorded a four-song demo. They instantly got signed to Svart Records, and started working on their debut album. After five long years of hard work, it is finally ready to be released upon the world. As they say, good things come to those who wait: The Ghost Love Chronicles will be released on November 11, 2022. The album was produced by musical and visual mastermind Henttunen, mixed by Sampsa Väätäinen (Ismo Alanko, Neøv etc.) and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Paradise Lost, Opeth etc.). Over the last ten years, The Lone Bellow have cast an indelible spell with their finespun songs of hard truth and redemptive beauty, faithfully delivered in hypnotic three-part harmony In a departure from their past work with elite producers like Aaron Dessner of The
National and eight- time Grammy- winner Dave Cobb, the Nashville- based trio
struck out on their own for their new album 'Love Songs for Losers', dreaming up
a singular sound encompassing everything from arena-ready rock anthems to the
gorgeously sprawling Americana tunes the band refers to as “little redneck
symphonies.” Recorded at the possibly haunted former home of the legendary
Roy Orbison, the result is an intimate meditation on the pain and joy and ineffable
wonder of being human, at turns profoundly heartbreaking and sublimely
transcendent.

For their 18th vinyl release, Hard Fist welcomes Guadalajara-based producers Vongold and Fargo Devianti in the family, including an impressive remix by Jennifer Cardini and Damon Jee.

Dj, producers and performers, the Mexican duo releases collabs on Correspondant, Hard Fist, Rotten City, Her Majesty’s Ship and more. Vongold is all about low-tempo dark disco, anxious lyrics over bass lines and hundred vocal gems ; while Fargo Devianti is a magician mixing guitars, synthesizers, drums and voodoo percussion.

“Taste of Butter” is their first full EP together. Vongold’s haunted vocals stress Fargo Devianti hypnotic percussion. Together they create a psychedelic journey into mind landscapes with eclectic influences like avant-garde rock, post-punk, krautrock and darkwave sprinkled by psych folk eastern melodies and ritual percussions. This EP is probably the most rock and new-wave oriented ever released on Hard Fist.

To conclude, Jennifer Cardini and Damon Jee brought a powerful remix influenced by Detroit’s electro and breakbeat roots. Once mixed with the trippy sounds of the original version, it opens a fresh new door into the field of “dancefloor killer” music.
